Conductive textiles (c-textiles) allow a significant advancement in wearable technology, offering new opportunities for mobile devices. Silver nanowires (AgNWs) with exceptional electrical conductivity, flexibility, and stretchability have been studied as the most promising conductive materials to provide electrical conductivities to insulating textiles. In this paper, an overview of the recent advancements in the synthesis and application of AgNWs and their integration into textile materials are discussed, highlighting their applications to various electronic devices. The diverse applications of AgNWs to transparent conducting electrodes; and multifunctional fabrics capable of sensing, heating, and providing electromagnetic interference shielding are introduced underscoring the versatility and potential of AgNW-based textiles. Based on the overview, challenges of AgNW-based c-textiles including low durability and difficult scalability of production processes are discussed which help readers to understand the future direction of the research of AgNW-based c-textiles. The use of filament-wound composites can be advantageous, especially for designing parts of aircraft structures, because of superior mechanical properties of the composites. On the other hand, various experiments are necessary for studying the environmental resistance of composites rather than that of conventional metals. A hoop ring burst test would be a convenient and reliable method for the evaluation of the environmental resistance of a composite pressure vessel. In this research, a method with 24 split disks was developed for estimating the impact and thermal shock resistance of a carbon-fiber-reinforced composite pressure vessel using hoop ring burst specimens subjected to high-speed impact. Impact tests were conducted with a 12.7-mm diameter ceramic ball at a speed of approximately 40–110 m/s. After the impact test, three cycles of thermal shock were conducted on the half of the specimens. C-scan analysis was conducted to determine whether there was any internal damage after the tests. Finally, the hoop ring burst test using 24 split pressure disks was conducted for modified ring specimens. Thermoelectric textile devices represent an intriguing avenue for powering wearable electronics. The lack of air-stable n-type polymers has, until now, prevented the development of n-type multifilament yarns, which are needed for textile manufacturing. Here, the thermomechanical properties of the recently reported n-type polymer poly(benzodifurandione) (PBFDO) are explored and its suitability as a yarn coating material is assessed. The outstanding robustness of the polymer facilitates the coating of silk yarn that, as a result, displays an effective bulk conductivity of 13 S cm -1 , with a projected half-life of 3.2 ± 0.7 years at ambient conditions. Moreover, the n-type PBFDO coated silk yarn with a Young's modulus of E = 0.6 GPa and a strain at break of ε break = 14% can be machine washed, with only a threefold decrease in conductivity after seven washing cycles. PBFDO and poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) coated silk yarns are used to fabricate two out-of-plane thermoelectric textile devices: a thermoelectric button and a larger thermopile with 16 legs. Excellent air stability is paired with an open-circuit voltage of 17 mV and a maximum output power of 0.67 µW for a temperature difference of 70 K.
