Abstract

The demand for new alkali metal chalcogenide materials is continuously increasing due to their potential applications across various technological fields. Recently, a new compound, $\text{Na}_6\text{Ge}_2\text{Se}_6$, was computationally predicted, representing a new phase distinct from the experimentally observed $\text{Na}_6\text{Ge}_2\text{Se}_6$ reported in 1985. Notably, this newly predicted phase displays a lower total energy compared to the previously known experimental phase, as determined by first-principles calculations. In this study, we undertake a thorough comparative analysis of the structural, elastic, electronic, phonon, thermal, and optical properties of these two $\text{Na}_6\text{Ge}_2\text{Se}_6$ phases. Our results show that both phases meet mechanical and dynamical stability criteria. The electronic band structure analysis confirms the semiconducting nature of both materials, with a 2.97 eV indirect band gap for the predicted phase and a 2.93 eV direct band gap for the observed phase. Optically, both phases exhibit strong absorption in the ultraviolet region. Thermal properties analysis reveals that the predicted phase is more thermodynamically stable below 907 K, while the observed phase shows greater thermodynamic stability above this temperature.

2. A symmetry-oriented crystal structure prediction method for crystals with rigid bodies

Abstract

We have developed an efficient crystal structure prediction (CSP) method for desired chemical compositions, specifically suited for compounds featuring recurring molecules or rigid bodies. We applied this method to two metal chalcogenides: $\text{Li}_3\text{PS}_4$ and $\text{Na}_6\text{Ge}_2\text{Se}_6$, treating $\text{PS}_4$ as a tetrahedral rigid body and $\text{Ge}_2\text{Se}_6$ as an ethane-like dimer rigid body. Initial trials not only identified the experimentally observed structures of these compounds but also uncovered several novel phases, including a new stannite-type $\text{Li}_3\text{PS}_4$ structure and a potential metastable structure for $\text{Na}_6\text{Ge}_2\text{Se}_6$ that exhibits significantly lower energy than the observed phase, as evaluated by density functional theory (DFT) calculations. We compared our results with those obtained using USPEX, a popular CSP package leveraging genetic algorithms. Both methods predicted the same lowest energy structures in both compounds. However, our method demonstrated better performance in predicting metastable structures. The method is implemented with Python code which is available at https://github.com/ColdSnaap/sgrcsp.git.

Abstract

The purpose of this project is to develop a statistical model which predicts the leading states of India based on various parameters like health, crime, employment rate, education/ literacy rate taking consideration into how developed the stateis, how much development they did in each time frame, what is their ranking concerning other states and how likely peopleare to migrate to that state. The first step of the study is to identify the major criteria (health, crime, employment rate, education) and then analyze the massive data from different people using the Fuzzy-AHP algorithm. The Fuzzy-AHP algorithm is used to compute the semi-quantitative weightage of the various parameters as listed above. Based on the importance of the various parameters, the different states assigned ranks accordingly. The states were first selected and then assigned ranking according to the criteria mentioned above. The Fuzzy AHP is a user-friendly algorithm that providesflexibility to the user to select the importance of criteria based on their priorities. According to our study, we conclude Daman and Diu is the leading Union Territory of India. It is safer in terms of low crime rates and more developed in the health and education status compared to other states. Our model is better than other existing models because we are usingthe Fuzzy AHP algorithm for weighting the criteria and using experts' opinions to construct the pairwise comparison matrix, which makes our model more reliable. 48. Nitrene-Transfer Chemistry to C–H and C═C Bonds Mediated by Triangular Coinage Metal Platforms Supported by Triply Bridging Pnictogen Elements Sb(III) and Bi(III)

Abstract

Tripodal ligands (TMG3trphen-E) that feature heavy pnictogen elements (E = Sb(III), Bi(III)) and tetramethylguanidinyl (TMG) arms have been explored in stabilizing Cu(I) and Ag(I) sites and facilitating nitrene-transfer chemistry. Compounds [(TMG3trphen-E)M3(μ-X)3] (M = Cu(I), Ag(I); X = Cl, Br, I) have been generated upon extraction of M3(μ-X)3units from MX sources, exhibiting support of the crown-shaped M3(μ-X)3fragment by M–NTMGbonds and triply bridging E → M3interactions. Orbital interactions between Cu(I) sites and NTMGresidues are more dominant than Sb/Bi → Cu3donor interactions between the Sb 5s or Bi 6s orbitals and admixed Cu 4s/3d orbitals, with larger interaction energies computed for Sb → Cu3. Nonhalogenated copper compounds [(TMG3trphen-E)2Cu2]2+2Y–(Y = PF6, B(C6F5)4) have been synthesized via dechlorination by TlPF6or by application of halide-free Cu(I) sources with TMG3trphen-E ligands. Nitrene-transfer to olefins mediated by [(TMG3trphen-E)Cu3(μ-Cl)3] (E = Sb and Bi) affords aziridines in good yields, primarily for unencumbered styrenes and with the more robust Sb catalyst. Amination of C–H bonds is most effective with sec-benzylic substrates and requires a more electrophilic nitrene (NTces) to achieve practicable yields with halogenated or nonhalogenated copper precursors. Hammett plots indicate that the competitive amination of para-substituted ethylbenzenes enabled by [(TMG3trphen-Sb)Cu3(μ-Cl)3] involves stepwise C–H functionalization.

Abstract

Undoubtedly, logs are brain of any software system. Development, debugging and upgradation of software applications became much easier due to the logging or auditing concept in computer science field. Virtual Machines also log and timestamp every activity that take place during their runtime. Gathering system details from those lengthy log files is a hectic work for the end-user since single log file contains millennial entries of audited log data. A management system can be very helpful solution and required for the analytical scanning and the visualization of the logged data and thus providing the way to end user for the relevant information about the virtual machines running on the hypervisors. The same system can help developers to gather relevant log entries and presenting data collectively to the end user. This system not only helps in providing and presenting details but also act as an alert system to notify user fatal errors occurred during runtime. Statistical usage information or notification system can further be developed by the means of this syslog system. This paper will present how developers can build an efficient Syslog Management System on the web using the (CGI) Common Gateway Interface in the C programming language and also mentions how CGI environment can be achieved in the Apache Tomcat webserver to build dynamic web tools. Also, it provides basic idea how C can be used effectively in the CGI interface to provide better methods for obtaining and extracting relevant system data.
