Artificial intelligence (AI) is a technology that can be applied to various fields, such as healthcare, where it can be used to create advanced devices capable of detecting diseases and identifying cancer cells. In this review, we will discuss the application of AI in the field of clinical biochemistry. We will discuss how AI can assist in the study of chronic illnesses and assist in early detection. AI has been used in the clinical diagnosis of heart conditions like myocardial infarction, coronary heart disease, and heart valve diseases, and it predicts gene and non-coding RNA, predicts protein secondary structures and is used in recent drug discovery techniques and enzyme engineering. This review will also provide a brief overview of AI-assisted early detection of chronic diseases, which can result in earlier treatment, reduce the development of the disease, enhance patient quality of life, and lessen the financial burden of managing healthcare.
