Six newly recorded taxa, Chlamydomonas pertusa Chodat, Coenochloris pyrenoidosa Korshikov, Coenocystis tapasteana Komárek, Katagnymene accurata Geitler, Phormidium stagninum Anagnostidis, and Scytonema coactile Montagne ex Bornet & Flahault, were described from epipelic, epilithic, and epiphytic materials of the 17 high mountain lakes and a pond in Artabel Lakes Nature Park. The morphology of all species was examined by light microscopy. In this paper, the morphology, ecology, and distribution of these species are discussed. Photos of the species are also provided.

Aerial algae were sampled from 28 sites on rocks, tree barks, and mosses along the Hongcheon-river in Gangwon-do, Korea, from December 2011 to September 2012 and then cultivated. Seven genera and eight species of the order Chloro-coccales were newly recorded in Korea. These were Spongiococcum tetrasporum , Tetracystis aggregata , Myrmecia bisecta , Coenocystis inconstans , Lobosphaeropsis pyrenoidosa , Pseudococcomyxa simplex , Coelastrella oocystiformis , and C. vacu-olata. As a result, the known Korean flora of the order Chlorococcales now includes 12 families with 54 genera, 263 spe-cies, 76 varieties, and 27 forma, giving a total of 366 taxa. Key words: aerial algae, Chlorococcales, Chlorophyta, Korean flora, newly recorded species INTRODUCTION The order Chlorococcales belongs to the division Chlo -rophyta and class Chlorophyceae, which widely inhabit freshwater and soil. It is composed of useful microorgan-isms with a short life cycle that are easily cultured (Rich-mond 1986, Haag 2007). Komarek and Fott (1983) report-ed that this order included 15 families, 148 genera, and 1,025 species, whereas Hindak (1977, 1980, 1984, 1988) reported that it included only 168 species, excluding the genus

Twenty-three taxa of coccoid green algae were identified from samples collected in the Marimbus-Iraquara Environmental Protection Area, Chapada Diamantina, Bahia state. Amongst them, 19 are reported for the first time to Bahia state and four are new reports to Brazil: Coenocystis planctonica var. planctonica, C. planctonica var. hercynica, Palmodictyon lobatum and Dispora crucigenioides. This is the first confirmed record of the genus Palmodictyon to the Brazilian territory.
