Greater use of communication technologies among young people, including mobile phones, social media and communication apps, has coincided with declines in youth alcohol use in many high-income countries. However, little research has unpacked how drinking as a practice within interconnected routines and interactions may be changing alongside these technologies. Drawing on qualitative interviews about drinking with young people aged 16–23 across three similar studies in Australia, the United Kingdom and Sweden, we identify how communication technologies may afford reduced or increased drinking. They may reduce drinking by producing new online contexts, forms of intimacy and competing activities. They may increase drinking by re-organising drinking occasions, rituals and contexts. And they may increase or reduce drinking by enabling greater fluidity and interaction between diverse practices. These countervailing dynamics have likely contributed to shifting drinking patterns and practices for young people that may be obscured beneath the population-level decline in youth drinking. A method of transmission of highly confidential information in power communication network based on digital watermarking technology is proposed in order to reduce the leakage risk of power information and achieve the purpose of safe transmission of private information. This method establishes the data topology model of power communication network and connects the data receiving and sending terminals. Digital watermarking technology is used to embed digital watermarking in the information to be transmitted, encrypt the private information, and optimize the DES encryption algorithm to encrypt the information twice, so as to realize the safe transmission of information. The experimental results show that the digital watermark embedding rate, DES encryption rate, DES decryption rate and watermark extraction rate of the proposed method are all above 90 Mbps, and the file transfer time of 3965Byte is less than 5s, leakage risk rate and packet loss rate are 0.0001% and 0.006%, respectively, which effectively protects the security of high privacy information in the power communication network and prevents information leakage. Impulsive noise poses a significant challenge to single input multiple output wireless communication systems. This paper assesses the effectiveness of hybrid combining techniques, namely selection combining‐equal gain combining and selection combining‐maximal ratio combining, in mitigating impulsive noise impact caused by both man‐made and natural phenomena. The evaluation considers three different noise models: Additive white Gaussian noise, Middleton class‐A impulsive noise, and symmetric alpha stable impulsive noise, across Rayleigh and Rician fading channels. Bit error rate is employed to gauge channel performance. Our research contribution lies in the comprehensive assessment of hybrid combining techniques under diverse noise models, addressing a critical research gap in wireless communication. Findings indicate that impulsive noise has a more pronounced impact on channel performance than additive white Gaussian noise, and hybrid combining techniques prove more effective in mitigating these effects. The results hold significant implications for single input multiple output wireless communication systems, guiding the development of more robust and reliable communication systems in impulsive noise scenarios. This article considers the role played by communications infrastructure within the international legal imagination. It engages with contemporary debates regarding the power of corporate digital platforms and their model of information capitalism. An international legal historical perspective is adopted in order to contextualise international law's present infrastructural turn and connect current debates over big tech with their precursors. The history of international legal engagement with the development of communications infrastructure reveals a recurring pattern of looking to technological infrastructure for solutions to global problems. This can act to empower private actors and contribute to an ongoing absence of meaningful international legal regulation of communications. The contemporary interest in infrastructure, and its implications in terms of fostering the private power of big tech over global communications, is in many ways a return. But it could also take account of alternative visions for international law which were present at key moments during the League of Nations era and the Cold War. Connecting current debates with those earlier moments in international legal history can help to highlight and counter continuing patterns of technological solutionism within the international legal imagination. Automatic Modulation Classification (AMC) is a technique used to identify signal modulations in applications like IoT devices, cognitive radar, software-defined radio, and electronic warfare. These applications could be applied to IoT devices. With future wide applications of IoT devices, AMC algorithms need to be more compact yet suitable for embedded devices with limited resources and remain acceptable accuracy. Although current AMC algorithms deliver high accuracy, they require substantial computing power, making them unsuitable for IoT devices. This paper introduces the novel Chessboard-based Automatic Modulation Classification (CAMC) algorithm, which has dramatically high accuracy. Test results reveal that CAMC achieves 99%* accuracy under a 3dB SNR condition and 100% above 5dB SNR. Meanwhile, this algorithm is scalable and demands less computing power. It offers better accuracy results compared to state-of-the-art AMC algorithms, classifying mainstream modulations in IoT devices like BPSK, QPSK, 8PSK, and 16QAM, but requires less computing power than existing algorithms. Additionally, CAMC is hardware-friendly due to its inherent parallelism and scalability. The novelty of this paper is to classify 4 different modulations in a low-computation-loading required and hardware-friendly way and achieve a high accuracy of over 99%* above SNR of 3dB. Micro-Grid (MG), a paradigm shift in conventional distribution power systems, facilitates the integration of many Renewable Energy Resources (RERs), storage units, and loads. The key catalyst behind this emerging paradigm is the increased attention to environment-energy sustainability nexus. This novel concept exhibits various attractive features such as sustainability, reliability, resilience, improved power quality, energy security, and liberalization of electric service industries. However, the integration of RER units and load participation into the MG brings various challenges to the stability and operation of the system. These challenges arise as a consequence of the intermittent nature of RERs due to their stochastic behavior and increased level of non-linearity associated with smart load participation. Furthermore, in recent years, the development and deployment of RER in MG networks have demonstrated exponential growth. Therefore, in order to achieve a holistic analysis, a comprehensive review study about various aspects of MG should be investigated. In this regard, this rigorous survey paper presents the meticulous study of various aspects, historical evolution, and key enabling yet transdisciplinary technologies of MG, such as various components, generation resources, load classification, communication infrastructure, energy management, control and optimization, operational modes, and various frameworks, configurations, architectures, and topologies-including the emerging concept of Networked MG with flexible boundaries. This study also reviewed various storage and protection systems in MG, considering the attention to their contributions to the stability of the system. This review also underscores many key issues, challenges, and factors related to the sustainable development of the MG system. Lastly, an all-inclusive cross-sectoral analysis that includes cyber-physical systems, power quality, information and data management, conversion systems, synthetic inertia, and some governance issues has been provided, along with the future directions, progression, and latest development in the field of MG. This survey, therefore, greatly assists and enables researchers to study and analyze the development and prospect of MG technology conveniently.

Social media usage is a direct result of Internet connectivity and is gaining increased prominence in business-to-consumer (B2C), business-to-business (B2B), and consumer-to-business (C2B) relationship building, which is allowing marketers to devise and implement digital marketing strategies that are perceived as enhancing a customer's well-being. Through the process of utilizing social media (SM) to share information with consumers, marketers are affording themselves with the concept of value co-creation and ensuring that the development of knowledge is given priority. To explain how this happens in an emerging economy, in-depth personal interviews were undertaken with the owners of five retail fashion companies in Vietnam. The findings indicate that fashion retail companies in Vietnam are deploying digital marketing strategies that deliver perceived enhanced value to consumers through the process of value co-creation. This highlights the advantage of using SM in relation to increasing retail staff's ability to convert information into usable resources such as intelligence and knowledge. By achieving knowledge conversion, retail staff fulfill the role of 'knowledge broker' and 'knowledge connector', and identify how organizational intervention, such as new operating structures, can help to deliver perceived enhanced value to customers. Underwater optical communication is a new and feasible underwater communication technology, which has developed rapidly in recent years. To build a high-performance and practical underwater optical communication system, it is necessary to consider and optimize the design from the device to the system, from the internal modulation to the external environment. This paper summarizes the current problems of underwater optical communication from the aspects of underwater optical communication system transmitter and receiver, modulation format and underwater channel. The paper also classifies and summarizes the three key technologies of improving underwater optical communication distance, communication rate and communication stability, and gives the possible solutions. It provides reference for the follow-up system design and experimental research.

However, it might be difficult to manage and apply the anticipated benefits of ERP. Workarounds further complicate outdated and evolving business procedures, which impedes the ongoing development of ERP. As a result, reaping the rewards is sometimes challenging. The complexity of realizing advantages also rises when subsidiaries are not able to discover new benefits on their own, even though benefits may differ from subsidiary to subsidiary. Although telecommunications fraud has become a threat to the physical and mental health of children and adolescents, only limited studies have examined behavioral responses to telecommunications fraud of parents who are the primary agents of children's socialization. Based on the influence of presumed media influence (IPMI) model, this study aims to examine how parents' attention to telecommunications fraud influences their behavioral responses, including parental mediation and support for school education. A total of 757 parents of primary and middle school students in China have participated in online questionnaire survey. This study used the structural equation modeling to analyze the data. The results indicated that parents' attention to telecommunications fraud was positively associated with their presumed influence on others' children, which in turn positively affected parental active and restrictive mediation as well as support for school education. The findings of the present study highlighted the effects of parents' attention and presumed influence on others on their behavioral responses. Theoretical implications for extending applicable contexts and developing the behavioral responses of the IPMI model were discussed. High frequency (millimeter wave and higher) systems are being used for curb-to-home services and indoor networks with fixed transmitter and receivers. However, the environment between them can shift due to moving flora and fauna causing sudden blockages. To mitigate outages due to blocking, we investigate the use of a two-beam system rather than a conventional single line-of-sight (LOS) beam. A two-beam system requires a design that can adjust both the transmit phase and delay on one of the beams to ensure a strong signal when both beams are not blocked, and the ability to adapt the transmission rate when the receiver power drops due to intermittent blockages on either beam. We propose a low-complexity co-phasing strategy in which the transmitter guesses the phase and delay offset between the two beams until the receiver indicates a satisfactory channel has been established. Exact co-phasing of the beams is not required and the average number of guesses needed to find an appropriate delay and phase is relatively small. Once the link has been established, the transmitted signal power is split between the two beams to achieve maximum throughput for a fixed total power budget limit. The resulting scheme is not only computationally efficient, but is also robust to channel estimation errors that typically plague transmit adaptation strategies. Numerical results demonstrate the effectiveness of the approach, showing that a capacity within 0.1 dB of perfect co-phasing can be achieved with fewer than 100 guesses. In 90 % of the cases, 25 guesses were required on average to achieve a power that is within 0.1 dB of the optimum.

Airbnb is emblematic of a set of business practices commonly known as 'the sharing economy'. It is a disruptive business model of homestay accommodation that has exploited conditions of growing precarity of work since 2008. Work precarity is particularly evident in regional tourist areas in New Zealand, which historically experience seasonal, part-time work and low wages. Airbnb draws specifically on the rhetoric of micro-entrepreneurism, with focus on individual freedom and choice: appealing concepts for those experiencing precarity. This article challenges the rhetoric of Airbnb and investigates notions of home, authenticity and hospitality that are reconceptualized under a specific regime of digital biopolitics. Drawing on research conducted in four regional tourist towns in New Zealand this article analyses the biopolitical interpellations that impact hosts' subjectivities as entities in motion and considers the ways that the rationalities of Airbnb's algorithms modulate the embodied behaviours of its hosts.
