Objective Methods Results Conclusions The management of femoral multiplanar deformity remains a great challenge for orthopaedic surgeons. The focal dome osteotomy (FDO) combined with Ilizarov technique is a theoretically ideal method for treating femoral multiplanar deformity, but the clinical evidence is limited. The aim of this study is to assess the clinical and radiological outcomes of this combined strategy for correcting femoral multiplanar deformities.A retrospective analysis was conducted to analyze 20 patients (29 limbs) with femoral multiplanar deformities treated by FDO combined with Ilizarov external fixation in our limb deformity center between 2017 and 2022. Preoperative and postoperative radiographical parameters were measured, including lateral proximal femoral angle (LPFA), mechanical lateral distal femoral angle (mLDFA), middle diaphysis angle (MDA), anatomic posterior distal femoral angle (aPDFA), mechanical axis deviation (MAD), and limb length discrepancy (LLD). Clinical assessments included a self‐made questionnaire for exercise capacity score (ECS), visual analog scale (VAS), and the 36‐Item Short‐Form Health Survey (SF‐36) score.There were eight males and 12 females, with a mean age of 32.8 years (14–61 years). All patients completed follow‐up with a mean follow‐up duration of 41.5 (27–81) months. The mean EFT was 8.9 (1.4–20.2) months. At final follow‐up, significantly improvement was noted regarding mean LLD (from 1.8 to 0.4 cm, p < 0.05), MDA (from 31.8° to 10.4°, p < 0.05), aPDFA (from 97.6° to 91.8°, p < 0.05), MAD (from 22.4 to 5.3 mm, p < 0.05), CORA on the true deformity plane (from 32.4° to 6.8°, p < 0.05). The mean VAS was decreased from 4.03 (2.0–6.0) preoperatively to 1.38 (0–3.0) at final follow‐up (p < 0.05). The mean score of each item of SF‐36 was significantly improved at final follow‐up (p < 0.05). The mean ECS was improved from 8.2 (5–12) preoperatively to 11.4 (8–13) at final follow‐up (p < 0.05). During the follow‐up, one patient underwent pin exchange. One patient underwent internal fixation to replace the Ilizarov fixation 1.4 months after the first surgery. Residual LLD (>0.5 cm) was noted in four patients but without significant symptoms. No serious complications occurred.The strategy of FDO combined with Ilizarov fixation could provide powerful ability and good flexibility for correcting femoral multiplanar deformities without significant complications. Engagement plays an important role in students' success in learning. While learner engagement has been widely examined, the degree to which learners engage in online learning and the relationship between online engagement and learning outcomes, particularly in the domain of second/foreign (L2) language learning, still remain under-explored. To bridge the gap, this study examined college L2 English learners' profiles of online engagement and their learning outcomes. A total of 85 first-year college students participated in this study. The results showed that college students' online L2 English learning engagement is multidimensional, including behaviroral, cognitive, affective, and social facets. Additionally, students' actual behavioral (e.g., task engagement time and task completion rate) and self-perceived online engagement (e.g., behavioral, cognitive, and affective online engagement) are significantly correlated. Nonetheless, among the two levels of online engagement measures, only task score in the actual behavioural engagement is a positive predictor of students' learning outcomes. In this work, we have specially carried out the catalytic cracking experiments of heavy distillate oil in the high temperature range of 500~700°C. The composition of dry gas generated in the catalytic cracking process was analyzed, with emphasis on the variation of yield of C1 and C2 products. Two cracking mechanism ratios (CMRs) were redefined by replacing the (C1 + C2) products in the traditional definition of CMR with CH4, and the feasibility of using them to characterize the thermal cracking reaction in the catalytic cracking process in the high temperature range was investigated. The results showed that CH4 was more sensitive to temperature than (C1 + C2) and it was feasible and more accurate to use CH4 instead of (C1 + C2) corrected R3 to characterize the thermal cracking reaction in the catalytic cracking process in the high temperature range. Preoperative supine radiographs are mandatory in the new adult idiopathic scoliosis (AdIS) classification. Supine radiographs are easily reproducible and highly predictive of side bending radiographs. However, few studies evaluated the use of supine radiographs in predicting postoperative curve correction after posterior spinal fusion (PSF) in AdIS. To investigate the use of supine and side bending (SB) radiographs in predicting postoperative curve correction in AdIS patients who underwent PSF. Retrospective study. A total of 93 AdIS patients who underwent PSF between 2022 and 2023 were included. Demographic data were age, gender, height, weight, body mass index (BMI), Risser grade, Lenke curve types and Cobb angles. Main outcome measures were preoperative and immediate postoperative Cobb angle (proximal thoracic [PT], main thoracic [MT] and thoracolumbar/lumbar [TL/L] curves), Supine Cobb angle and Flexibility rate (PT, MT and TL/L), and Correction rate (PT, MT and TL/L). Correlation study was performed between Supine Cobb angle vs postoperative Cobb angle for PT, MT and TL/L curves. A predictive formula was derived from the correlation plots. A total of 93 subjects were included in our study with a median age of 24.7 years and comprised of 80 females (86.0%). Preoperative Supine Cobb angle (r =0.835, r =0.881, r =0.767, p<.001) and preoperative SB Cobb angle (r =0.815, r =0.872, r =0.801, p<.001) showed similar strong positive correlation with postoperative PT, MT and TL/L Cobb angle, but preoperative Supine Cobb angle had slightly stronger correlation in PT and MT, whereas preoperative SB Cobb angle had stronger correlation in TL/L curve. Using the derived predictive formulae, there was a significant, strong, positive correlation between the predicted value and actual value of postoperative standing Cobb angle, (r=0.852, p<.001), with 71.0% of the patients had predicted postoperative Cobb angle from the supine radiographs within 5° of the actual value. Both supine radiographs and side bending radiographs had strong predictability of the postoperative Cobb angle for PT, MT and TL/L curves. Background: Pressure distribution in the ankle joint is known to be dependent on various factors, including hindfoot alignment. We seek to evaluate how hindfoot alignment affects contact pressures in the ankle joint in the setting of supination external rotation (SER) type ankle fractures. Methods: SER fractures were created in 10 human cadaver lower extremity specimens, simulating progressive stages of injury: without fracture (step 0), SER fracture and intact deltoid ligament (step 1), superficial deltoid ligament disruption (step 2), and deep deltoid ligament disruption (step 3). At each step, varus and valgus alignment was simulated by displacing the calcaneal tuberosity 7 mm medial or lateral. Each limb was axially loaded following each osteotomy at a static load of 350 N. The center of force (COF), contact area (CA), and peak contact pressure (PP) under load were measured, and radiographs of the ankle mortise were taken to analyze the medial clear space (MCS) and talar tilt (TT). Results: The COF (5.3 mm, P =.030) and the CA (−188.4 mm2, P =.015) changed in step 3 in the valgus hindfoot alignment compared to baseline parameters, indicating the importance of deep deltoid ligament integrity in maintaining normal ankle joint contact stress in the valgus hindfoot. These changes were not seen in the setting of varus alignment (COF: 2.3 mm, P =.059; CA −121 mm2, P =.133). PP were found to not change significantly in either varus or valgus (varus: −4.9 N, P =.132; valgus: −4 N, P =.464). The MCS demonstrated widening in step 3 compared to step 2 (0.7 mm, P =.020) in both varus and valgus hindfoot. The TT increased significantly in step 3 in the valgus hindfoot (2.8 degrees, P =.020) compared to step 0. Conclusion: SER-IV fractures with valgus hindfoot alignment showed significant changes in pressure distribution and radiographic parameters when compared to SER-IV fractures with varus hindfoot alignment. Clinical Relevance: Based on this cadaver modeling study, patients with SERIV fracture with varus hindfoot alignment and complete deltoid ligament lesion may not need fracture fixation, whereas those with valgus hindfoot alignment likely need fracture fixation. Purpose: There is a lack of evidence for treatment of some conditions including complication management, suboptimal initial weight loss, recurrent weight gain, or worsening of a significant obesity complication after one anastomosis gastric bypass (OAGB). This study was designed to respond to the existing lack of agreement and to provide a valuable resource for clinicians by employing an expert-modified Delphi consensus method. Methods: Forty-eight recognized bariatric surgeons from 28 countries participated in the modified Delphi consensus to vote on 64 statements in two rounds. An agreement/disagreement among ≥ 70.0% of the experts was regarded to indicate a consensus. Results: A consensus was achieved for 46 statements. For recurrent weight gain or worsening of a significant obesity complication after OAGB, more than 85% of experts reached a consensus that elongation of the biliopancreatic limb (BPL) is an acceptable option and the total bowel length measurement is mandatory during BPL elongation to preserve at least 300–400 cm of common channel limb length to avoid nutritional deficiencies. Also, more than 85% of experts reached a consensus on conversion to Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) with or without pouch downsizing as an acceptable option for the treatment of persistent bile reflux after OAGB and recommend detecting and repairing any size of hiatal hernia during conversion to RYGB. Conclusion: While the experts reached a consensus on several aspects regarding revision/conversion surgeries after OAGB, there are still lingering areas of disagreement. Objectives: The green channel received by Luojia3-01 satellite in Bayer imaging mode has relatively strong signals. The camera often adopts a fixed exposure and gain setting for images containing high saturation pixel values, which comprehensively leads to the color deviation of the images with partial snow or cloud cover captured by Luojia3-01 satellite. Methods: To solve the above problems, a histogram overlapping white balance method combining color compensation and cross-correlation is proposed. First, in order to further improve the details of the image, the Gamma function is constructed through the distribution proportion of the region of low gray value to enable adaptive gamma correction processing. In order to improve the similarity of the distribution of color channels, the standard deviation of the image is used to calculate the weight to compensate for the attenuation channels, and the brightness information is maintained based on YCbCr color space to avoid the background brightness change of the image. Then, in order to improve the color deviation and maintain the overlap of the color mean, the color histogram is overlapped by using the cross-correlation relationship, and the parameters are adjusted according to the features of the images with partial snow or cloud cover. Finally, subjective analysis and objective evaluation of the corrected images are carried out. Results: The proposed method has the best processing effect in retaining the information of other ground objects except snow or cloud, and the information entropy value is the largest. The calculated value of the color correlation index obtained by processing the scene images with different amounts of snow and ice or cloud coverage also reaches the optimal value, and the color correlation is the highest compared with other methods. Other color correction methods, such as gray-world algorithm and gray-edge algorithm, are not effective, and it is difficult for other methods to achieve a balance between improving the color cast and preserving image information. Systematic biases and coarse resolutions are major limitations of current precipitation datasets. Many studies have been conducted for precipitation bias correction and downscaling. However, it is still challenging for the current approaches to handle the complex features of hourly precipitation, resulting in the incapability of reproducing small-scale features, such as extreme events. In this study, we proposed a deep-learning model called PBT (Population-Based Training)-GRU (Gate Recurrent Unit) based on numerical model NWP gridded forecast data and observation data and employed machine-learning (ML) methods, such as Random Forest (RF), Support Vector Machine (SVM), K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), and Gradient-Boosted Decision Tree (GBDT), to correct the WRF hourly precipitation forecasts. To select the evaluation method, we conducted a sample balance experiment and found that when the proportion of positive and negative samples was 1:1, the Threat Score (TS) and accuracy scores were the highest, while the Probability of Detection (POD) score was slightly lower. The results showed that: (1) the overall errors of the PBT-GRU model were relatively smaller, and its root mean square error (RMSE) was only 1.12 mm, which was reduced by 63.04%, 51.72%, 58.36%, 37.43%, and 26.32% compared to the RMSE of WRF, SVM, KNN, GBDT, and RF, respectively; and (2) according to the Taylor diagram, the standard deviation ( σ n ) and correlation coefficient (r) of PBT-GRU were 1.02 and 0.99, respectively, while the σ n and r of RF were 1.12 and 0.98, respectively. Furthermore, the σ n and r of the SVM, GBDT, and KNN models were between those of the above models, with values of 1.24 and 0.95, 1.15 and 0.97, and 1.26 and 0.93, respectively. Based on a comprehensive analysis of the TS, accuracy, RMSE, r and σ n , the PBT-GRU model performed the best, with a significantly better correction effect than that of the ML methods, resulting in an overall performance ranking of PBT-GRU > RF > GBDT > SVM > KNN. This study provides a hint of the possibility that the proposed PBT-GRU model can outperform model precipitation correction based on a small sample of one-station data. ChatGPT is a new artificial intelligence‐powered language model of chatbot able to help otolaryngologists in clinical practice and research. We investigated the ability of ChatGPT‐4 in the editing of a manuscript in otolaryngology. Four papers were written by a nonnative English otolaryngologist and edited by a professional editing service. ChatGPT‐4 was used to detect and correct errors in manuscripts. From the 171 errors in the manuscripts, ChatGPT‐4 detected 86 errors (50.3%) including vocabulary (N = 36), determiner (N = 27), preposition (N = 24), capitalization (N = 20), and number (N = 11). ChatGPT‐4 proposed appropriate corrections for 72 (83.7%) errors, while some errors were poorly detected (eg, capitalization [5%] and vocabulary [44.4%] errors. ChatGPT‐4 claimed to change something that was already there in 82 cases. ChatGPT demonstrated usefulness in identifying some types of errors but not all. This study aimed to investigate individual trial-to-trial performance in three tests to define adaptive regulation as a key feature of expertise in nine-ball. Thirty-one male players were assigned into the low-skilled (n = 11), intermediate (n = 10), or high-skilled groups (n = 10). The power control, cue alignment, and angle tests were selected to assess participants' ability to control the power applied in shots, strike the ball straight, and understand the ball paths, respectively. Error distance and correction of error distance were identified for each shot using 2D video analysis. Results of one-way analysis of variance showed that the high-skilled group performed better in two out of the three tests than the other two groups (p = .010 for the cue alignment test; p = .002 for the angle test). However, the adaptation effect represented by the decreased error distances across trials was not observed. Pearson correlation revealed only a few significant correlations between the error distance and its correction within each participant in all tests (p < .05), and hence, the hypothesis that "low correction happened after small error and vice versa" is not supported. Study Design. Retrospective analysis of prospectively collected data. Objective. Evaluate the impact of correcting normative segmental lordosis values on postoperative outcomes. Background. Restoring lumbar lordosis magnitude is crucial in adult spinal deformity surgery, but the optimal location and segmental distribution remain unclear. Patients and Methods. Patients were grouped based on offset to normative segmental lordosis values, extracted from recent publications. Matched patients were within 10% of the cohort's mean offset, less than or over 10% were undercorrected and overcorrected. Surgical technique, patient-reported outcome measures, and surgical complications were compared across groups at baseline and two years. Results. In total, 510 patients with a mean age of 64.6, a mean Charlson comorbidity index 2.08, and a mean follow-up of 25 months. L4-5 was least likely to be matched (19.1%), while L4-S1 was the most likely (24.3%). More patients were overcorrected at proximal levels (T10-L2; undercorrected, U: 32.2% vs. matched, M: 21.7% vs. overcorrected, O: 46.1%) and undercorrected at distal levels (L4-S1: U: 39.0% vs. M: 24.3% vs. O: 36.8%). Postoperative Oswestry disability index was comparable across correction groups at all spinal levels except at L4-S1 and T10-L2/L4-S1, where overcorrected patients and matched were better than undercorrected (U: 32.1 vs. M: 25.4 vs. O: 26.5, P=0.005; U: 36.2 vs. M: 24.2 vs. O: 26.8, P=0.001; respectively). Patients overcorrected at T10-L2 experienced higher rates of proximal junctional failure (U: 16.0% vs. M: 15.6% vs. O: 32.8%, P<0.001) and had greater posterior inclination of the upper instrumented vertebrae (U: -9.2±9.4° vs. M: -9.6±9.1° vs. O: -12.2±10.0°, P<0.001), whereas undercorrection at these levels led to higher rates of revision for implant failure (U: 14.2% vs. M: 7.3% vs. O: 6.4%, P=0.025). Conclusions. Patients undergoing fusion for adult spinal deformity suffer higher rates of proximal junctional failure with overcorrection and increased rates of implant failure with undercorrection based on normative segmental lordosis. The unprecedented rise of misinformation and its sociopolitical consequences are increasingly setting the research agenda for social science scholarship. Through examining the effectiveness of data journalism in debunking misinformation, the present study engages with the burgeoning discussions on how to develop countermeasures to mitigate the negative influences of misleading information dissemination. By selecting a widely held political misinformation case from the Chinese context—the "Military World Games and the origin of Covid-19"—and conducting online experiment (N = 317) the results of this study prove the perceived objectivity and credibility of data journalism, and its persuasive power to rebut misinformation, particularly for those with moderate-level prior misinformation beliefs. Building on these insights, this study contributes to an investigation of data journalism's democratic potential to correct problematic information—an urgent task in the face of the "infodemic" threat worldwide. Introduction The story of Hamzeh Sahebqeran is the most famous long Persian folk tale that has been popular in the gatherings of Naqali for several centuries, and the narrators - most of whom were dervishes of the Ajam dynasty - narrated it in Qahveh-khaneh(coffee houses). Some people believe that one of the caliphs of Bani Abbas got sick and the famous doctors of the time tried to treat him and they could not; therefore, a wise man from the Arabs arranged this story in order to remove the disease. Some readers of the story have said that the narrator of the story is Omar-ibn Omayyeh Zamiri, and some others have considered this story to be related to the era of the Kasra dynasty. Najib ol-Din Ghiyas ol-Din Ali Naqib Khan also relates the creation of the story of Amir Hamzah Saheb Qeran to Hakim Abi Bakr Baghlani, a scholar of Masoud Ghaznavi's court, who created it to treat Sultan Masoud's illness. There are several Persian versions of Hamza's stories, which are sometimes incomplete and the ending of the story is unclear. Apparently, one of the latest versions that has been known so far, is a version written by a poorly educated but tasteful scribe named Mashadi Baqer Bazari in Shaban 1239 A.H. and recently corrected with the efforts of Masoumeh Talebi. It has been published under the title "The Legend of the Coffee House" (Afsaneh Qahveh-khaneh). Despite Masoumeh Talebi's efforts, there are several objections to the correction of this book, and the present article deals with the necessity of its revision. Methodology This research is done based on descriptive-analytical method and using library resources. This research tries to answer these questions: Considering that the corrected manuscript used was a unique version, How can the mistakes in the book be found, and how can they be corrected? To improve the structure of the book, what can be mentioned in order to have a clean text? Discussion One of the most popular Persian folk tales is the story of Amir Hamzeh Saheb qeran, which has been written in Arabic, Persian, Hindi, Urdu, Turkish and Kurdish languages over the centuries, and under many different names such as the story of Hamzeh, the story of Amir al-Mu'menin Hamzeh, the story of Amir Hamzeh, Guiti Gosha History. ب; among them, the following can be mentioned: 1. "Noshirvan-nameh" in Urdu language, translated by Bendika Handor ibn-e Sadanko Panchanikhan and copied by Seyyed Ik Ashagh Hossein (Noshirvannameh, no data, manuscript). 2. A large collection of stories of "Amir Hamzah Sahebqeran" in Urdu language; named "Noshirvan-nameh", "Kouchek Bakhtar", "Bala Bakhtar", "Irajnameh", "Hoshraba Talisman", "Sandalinameh", "Tourajnameh" and "Lalnameh". It was published by the efforts of Monshi Nol Keshur Printing House and by narrators such as Mohammad Hossein Jah, Ahmad Hossein Qamar and Tasdigh Hossein from 1881 to 1915 (Amir Hamzeh Sahebgheran, 1915-1881). 3. "Koliat Hamzenameh" in Turkish language, prepared in 24 stories and on 94 pages (Koliat Hamzenameh, no data). "Hamzenameh" in Kurdish language (Hamzenameh, no data, manuscript). 5. Perhaps only in Farsi, there are more than three or four versions of this story, of which, it seems that, the last version is the one called Romouz Hamza, written in seven volumes in the Safavid period (Mahjoub, 1386: 1143); the narrator or its author is Molla Ali Khan Shekarriz (The Romouze Hamzeh and the Adventures of Amre Ayyar, 2013: 9). There are various copies of Hamzeh-nameh, and especially Romouze Hamzeh, some of which are incomplete. One of these versions is the version written by Mashadi Baqer Bazari in Shaban 1239 A.H., and it was recently corrected by Masoumeh Talebi, and published under the title "Legend of the Coffeehouse" (Afsaneh Ghahveh-khaneh) by Khamoush publications. The writer of this work, like many writers and tellers of folk tales, is a person with low education but gifted who has presented a folk tale of Hamzehnameh. As far as the author of this essay has researched, only one copy of this book is available, which is kept in the library of the Islamic Congress under the number 29053-10 with the following specifications: Title: The Legend of Bakht and Arghash and Abuzarjomehr and Abol Alaa and Anoushirvan. Place of study: Naalbandsara Bazar. Date of writing: 4 Sha'ban 1239 A.H. Type of font: Nastaliq. Considering that revitalizing and correcting old stories is a long and necessary step in preserving and maintaining the heritage of popular literature, correcting the single version of the popular narration of Hamze's story by the respected researcher, Fatemeh Talebi, is commendable. In addition to correcting the text, Fatemeh Talebi has written a comprehensive and useful introduction to it in fifty pages, which deals with topics such as grammatical features, imagery, words, examination of oral and spoken language, proverbs, expressions, rituals (ceremonial folklore), influence of Shahnameh .... Despite all difficulties the respected author has endured in correcting this work, unfortunately there are some problems in her correction that will be examined in the present article. Conclusion One of the versions of Hamzeh-nameh written by Mashadi Baqer Bazari is a version full of errors which was corrected by Masoumeh Talebi and published under the title of "Afsana Gahve-khaneh". In recording, correcting and explaining this long folk story, there are some points that need to be revised; therefore, the author suggested the following points for revision in the correction: 1. Removing many dictation mistakes in the footnote that the proofreader has corrected in the text. 2. Adding a title to the text in order to clarify the course of the story and the reader's complete understanding of the story. 3. Correcting the recording of words, sentences and verses. 4. Defining difficult and strange words. 5. Keeping some words of the original version, which are correct in terms of spelling or popular pronunciation but the corrector has changed them to official pronunciation or common spelling. 6. The psychological effects of colors represent one of the three main effects associated with color. These psychological effects are concerned with examining the effect of color on the psyche of the individual and this means that the use of colors in The presented image leads to a specific emotional impact on the viewer who is presented, and these emotional responses create a live and tangible effect on the target recipient through what is presented. The emotional and emotional effects of different colors vary among individuals, and we note that the establishment of such emotional effects on the basis of objective factors will create a kind of congruence between these influences and previous experiences similar to them, which leads to the strengthening of the idea presented through the work presented to the viewer.

Pointing error is a critical performance metric for vehicle-mounted single-photon ranging theodolites (VSRTs). Achieving high-precision pointing through processing and adjustment can incur significant costs. In this study, we propose a cost-effective digital correction method based on a piecewise linear regression model to mitigate this issue. Firstly, we introduce the structure of a VSRT and conduct a comprehensive analysis of the factors influencing its pointing error. Subsequently, we develop a physically meaningful piecewise linear regression model that is both physically meaningful and capable of accurately estimating the pointing error. We then calculate and evaluate the regression equation to ensure its effectiveness. Finally, we successfully apply the proposed method to correct the pointing error. The efficacy of our approach has been substantiated through dynamic accuracy testing of a 450 mm optical aperture VSRT. The findings illustrate that our regression model diminishes the root mean square (RMS) value of VSRT's pointing error from 17″ to below 5″. Background: Although several biomechanical studies have been reported, few clinical studies have compared the efficacy of monoaxial and polyaxial pedicle screws in the surgical treatment of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS). This study aims to compare the radiological and clinical outcomes of mono- and polyaxial pedicle screws in the surgical treatment of AIS. Methods: A total of 46 AIS patients who underwent surgery to treat scoliosis using pedicle screw instrumentation (PSI) and rod derotation (RD) were divided into two groups according to the use of pedicle screws: the monoaxial group (n = 23) and polyaxial group (n = 23). Results: The correction rate of the main Cobb's angle was higher in the monoaxial group (70.2%) than in the polyaxial group (65.3%) (p = 0.040). No differences in the rotational correction of the apical vertebra were evident between the two groups. SRS-22 scores showed no significant differences according to the type of pedicle screws used. Conclusions: The use of polyaxial pedicle screws resulted in coronal, sagittal, and rotational correction outcomes comparable to those associated with the use of monoaxial pedicle screws for surgical treatment using PSI and RD to treat moderate cases of AIS. An analysis of the features of measurements and correction of phase distortions in optical waves propagating in the atmosphere at various levels of turbulence was performed. It is shown that with increasing intensity fluctuations, the limiting capabilities of phase correction decrease, and the phase of an optical wave that has passed through a turbulence layer consists of two components: potential and vortex. It was found that even in the region of weak fluctuations there is an overlap of spectral filtering functions for intensity and phase fluctuations. Areas of turbulence inhomogeneities have been identified that will have mutual influence and negatively affect the operation of the phase meter. It is noted that correlation functions, both phase and intensity, are less susceptible to this compared to structural functions. The results of experimental studies on the reconstruction of the wavefront of laser radiation distorted by atmospheric turbulence using a Shack–Hartmann wavefront sensor during vignetting and central screening of the entrance pupil in the optical system are presented. Considering that structured light depth imagers are difficult to use for precision measurements due to their limited measurement accuracy, we propose an innovative method for correcting structural parameters of structured light depth imagers to reduce the depth measurement error caused by structural parameter errors. For the structured light depth imager, the analytical imaging model is established, and the model of depth error caused by structural parameter errors is established based on the analysis of the depth measurement error analysis. Then, structural parameters are corrected according to the depth measurement error analysis and processing based on experimental depth imaging data of the standard reference plane at the maximum depth. As a result, the corrected analytical imaging model and corrected depth measurement values are obtained. With the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, the real-time measurement and control technology of power systems has also progressed. This paper proposes a correction control model for L-indexes based on voltage stability constrained optimal power flow (VSC-OPF) and a broad learning system (BLS) (BLS-VSC-OPF). This model aims to quickly assess the system's voltage stability and accurately correct the operation mode when the voltage stability indexes are out of the security range. Firstly, the BLS is used to predict the L-index and to analyze the voltage stability of the power system. Secondly, the approximate first-order sensitivity of the L-index is calculated by the combination of the BLS and the perturbation method. This method solves the problem of the complex sensitivity derivation process in the modeling process of the VSC-OPF model. Meanwhile, when the L-index exceeds the threshold, the BLS and VSC-OPF models are combined to correct this operation mode. The feasibility of the proposed method is verified by the simulation of IEEE-30, IEEE-118, and 1047 bus systems. Finally, the BLS-VSC-OPF model is compared with the linear programming correction model based on BLS (BLS-LPC). In rapid manual aiming, traditional wisdom would have it that two components manifest from feedback-based processes, where error accumulated within the primary submovement can be corrected within the secondary submovement courtesy of online sensory feedback. In some aiming contexts, there are more type 1 submovements (overshooting) compared to types 2 and 3 submovements (undershooting), particularly for more rapid movements. These particular submovements have also been attributed to a mechanical artefact involving movement termination and stabilisation. Hence, the goal of our study was to more closely examine the function of type 1 submovements by revisiting some of our previous datasets. We categorised these submovements according to whether the secondary submovement moved the limb closer (functional), or not (non-functional), to the target. Overall, there were both functional and non-functional submovements with a significantly higher proportion for the former. The displacement at the primary and secondary submovements, and negative velocity peak were significantly greater in the functional compared to non-functional. The influence of submovement type on other movement characteristics, including movement time, was somewhat less clear. These findings indicate that the majority of type 1 submovements are related to intended feedforward- and/or feedback-based processes, although there are a portion that can be attributed an indirect manifestation of a mechanical artefact. Tensor robust principal component analysis (TRPCA) is a useful approach for obtaining low-rank data corrupted by noise or outliers. However, existing TRPCA methods face certain challenges when it comes to estimating the tensor rank and the sparsity accurately. The commonly used tensor nuclear norm (TNN) may lead to sub-optimal solutions due to the gap between TNN and the tensor rank. Additionally, the ℓ 1 -norm is not an ideal estimation of the ℓ 0 -norm, and solving TNN minimization can be computationally intensive because of the tensor singular value thresholding (t-SVT) scheme. To address these issues, a method called fast correction TNN (FC-TNN) is proposed for TRPCA. In contrast to existing methods, FC-TNN introduces a correction term to bridge the gap between TNN and the tensor rank. Furthermore, a new correction term is employed for the ℓ 1 -norm to achieve the desired solution. To improve computational efficiency, the Chebyshev polynomial approximation (CPA) technique is presented for computing t-SVT without requiring tensor singular value decomposition (t-SVD). The CPA technique is incorporated into the alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) algorithm to solve the proposed model effectively. Theoretical analysis demonstrates that FC-TNN offers a lower error bound compared to TNN under certain conditions. Heritable human genome editing (HHGE) to correct a nuclear gene sequence that would result in a serious genetic condition in a future child is presented as 'treatment' in various ethics and policy materials, and as morally preferable to the 'selection' practice of preimplantation genetic testing (PGT), which is subject to the disability critique. However, whether HHGE is 'treatment' for a future child, or another form of 'selection', or whether HHGE instead 'treats' prospective parents, are now central questions in the debate regarding its possible legalisation. This article argues that the idea of 'treatment' for a future child is largely a proxy for 'seriousness of purpose', intended to distinguish HHGE to avoid serious genetic conditions from less obviously justifiable uses; that HHGE is best understood, and morally justified, as a form of 'treatment' for prospective parents who strongly desire an unaffected genetically related child and who have no, or poor, options to achieve this; that HHGE would be morally permissible if consistent with that child's welfare; that legalisation is supportable with reference to the right to respect for private and family life under Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights; and that HHGE is morally distinguishable from PGT. Congenital scoliosis is one of the most common deformities of the spine in children. Intraspinal anomalies are always accompanied with congenital scoliosis. Diastematomyelia is one of the most common intraspinal pathologies in congenital scoliosis. To date, there is no standard method for correcting the congenital spinal deformity associated with diastematomyelia. We present a clinical case of simultaneous correction of congenital scoliosis by an internal corrector with excision of diastematomyelia. The patient tolerated the surgery well without any complications. She was discharged home with improved symptoms without need for additional therapy. Objective: To investigate the effect of using multi- functional torticollis orthosis with manipulation in pediatric congenital myotonic torticollis. Method: In this study, 60 children with congenital myotonic torticollis were randomly divided into a test group and a control group. The test group was treated with a multi-torticollis orthosis on the basis of traditional corrective manual therapy， while the control group was only treated with manual correction. After three months of treatment, the corrective effect of the orthosis in different neck positions of the children was observed. Surface electromyography (sEMG) data analysis was conducted by collecting sEMG signals of the sternocleidomastoid muscle in two neck positions: lateral flexion and rotation. The sEMG signal characteristics of each child's sternocleidomastoid muscle were then analyzed. Subsequently, an overall assessment of the treatment for the children with torticollis was performed. Result: The root mean square (RMS) values of the sternocleidomastoid surface EMG signals were significantly higher in the test group than those in the control group, with a significant difference (P<0.05) . There were significant differences between the two groups before and after treatment (P＜0.01). Overall, the total effective treatment rate in the test group was 96.67%, which was significantly higher than that in the control group, showing a significant difference (P＜0.01). Why are prominent news media retractions so rare? Using data from a survey experiment in which respondents view simulated Twitter newsfeeds, we demonstrate the dilemma facing news organizations that have published false information. Encouragingly, media retractions are effective at informing the public – they increase the accuracy of news consumers' beliefs about the retracted reporting more than information from third parties questioning the original reporting or even the combination of the two. However, trust in the news outlet declines after a retraction, though this effect is small both substantively and in standardized terms relative to the increase in belief accuracy. This reputational damage persists even if the outlet issues a retraction before a third party questions the story. In a social media environment that frequently subjects reporting to intense scrutiny, the journalistic mission of news organizations to inform the public will increasingly conflict with organizational incentives to avoid admitting error. Digital soil mapping relies on statistical relationships between soil profile observations and environmental covariates at the sample locations. However, inherent limitations of legacy soil profiles, such as inaccurate georeferencing, could frequently introduce location errors into these soil profiles that affect the quality of digital soil mapping. To address this challenge, this study focuses on reducing the location error of legacy soil profiles and evaluating the resulting impact on digital soil mapping. We improved the agreement between the detailed descriptive information of legacy soil profiles and the relatively accurate environmental covariates (such as elevation, slope, and land use) to reduce the location errors of the legacy soil profiles. Quantile regression forest models were constructed to predict soil properties and their uncertainty using legacy soil profiles before and after location error correction. Our results demonstrate that for the majority of soil variables, correcting positional errors in legacy soil profiles to some extent enhances the accuracy of the digital soil mapping. The largest improvement was found for soil organic carbon at 0–5 cm depth interval, with 21 % increase of MEC. The impact of reduced location error is particularly noteworthy in regions characterized by complex terrain. In addition, the details of the predicted maps of legacy soil profiles were improved after correcting for positional errors, which better represent the spatial variation of soil properties across China. Besides, we also found that elevation was the primary controlling factor for correcting location error of legacy soil profiles. This research presents a step towards producing high-resolution and high-quality spatial soil datasets, which can provide essential support for soil management and ensure future soil security.

Transcranial focused ultrasound enables precise and non-invasive manipulations of deep brain circuits in humans, promising to provide safe and effective treatments of various neurological and mental health conditions. Ultrasound focused to deep brain targets can be used to modulate neural activity directly or localize the release of psychoactive drugs. However, these applications have been impeded by a key barrier—the human skull, which attenuates ultrasound strongly and unpredictably. To address this issue, we have developed an ultrasound-based approach that directly measures and compensates for the ultrasound attenuation by the skull. No additional skull imaging, simulations, assumptions, or free parameters are necessary; the method measures the attenuation directly by emitting a pulse of ultrasound from an array on one side of the head and measuring with an array on the opposite side. Here, we apply this emerging method to two primary future uses—neuromodulation and local drug release. Specifically, we show that the correction enables effective stimulation of peripheral nerves and effective release of propofol from nanoparticle carriers through an ex vivo human skull. Neither application was effective without the correction. Moreover, the effects show the expected dose-response relationship and targeting specificity. This article highlights the need for precise control of ultrasound intensity within the skull and provides a direct and practical approach for addressing this lingering barrier.

This paper proposes a precise and reliable polyp segmentation method using multilevel Information Correction transformer. Unlike the conventional direct fusion approach, it harnesses the strengths of transformers in modeling global information and convolutional neural networks (CNN) in capturing local information. Deep learning methods allow doctors to achieve effective and reliable results, greatly reducing manual costs and improving accuracy. However, previous approaches have not achieved a good balance between incorporating local and global information, leading to segmentation results that are not entirely satisfactory. The proposed method uses an enriched multi-scale feature extractor module(EMFE) that generates reliable boundary attention maps through richer scales. Considering that feature maps at different stages of the encoder have different sizes, the proposed method applies a pyramid hybrid attention module(PHA) to filter out background noise information using different scales. We also devise a multilevel lesion correction module(MLC), utilizing Transformer blocks for target localization, followed by convolutional correction of uncertain regions, effectively harnessing the strengths of both methods to achieve accurate segmentation from coarse to fine. Finally, we introduce a feature selection fusion module(FSF), enabling the network to adaptively select relevant contextual information for further correction, thus achieving an effective balance between global and local information. Experimental results demonstrate significant superiority of our method over the top 17 state-of-the-art approaches on five publicly available datasets. In particular, the proposed method achieves an improvement of 3.36% in dice score and 3.17% in mIoU score compared to the most advanced methods on the ETIS dataset.

The images captured by a plane-array type infrared detector, formed by integrating a large-scale probe array and readout circuits via interconnection, is distorted by two types of superimposed nonuniform noises caused by the probe and readout circuitry. These nonuniform noises arise from the detector's constituent materials, fabrication processes, and other defects. In addition, the output response of an infrared detector is limited by the dynamic range of the circuit, the low and high ends of the output signal exhibit strong nonlinearities. To overcome the impact of detector response nonlinearity and achieve simultaneous correction for two different types of nonuniformities in infrared images, in this study, we proposed a novel correction method. First, the pixel points of all images are reordered according to their pixel values to provide a uniform reorganisation data. Then, the linear correlated region based on the recombined data is extracted using a judgment algorithm that processes the linear correlations of multiple regions to simulate the detector's response curve and find the nonuniformity correction coefficient of each pixel. Experiments on simulated noisy and real images show that our method accurately eliminates nonuniform IR noise without causing blurring and provides optimal peak signal-to-noise ratio and structural similarity.

HelloTalk is a popular social media platform where users from diverse linguistic backgrounds converge to communicate and improve their second language (L2) skills. This study focuses on grammatical errors made by users on the HelloTalk app during English interactions. Employing the observation method. Employing a qualitative approach, the study conducted a comprehensive analysis of 357 instances across 280 posts, showcasing a nuanced understanding of the challenges faced by users in their language learning journey. The identified strategies for addressing these errors encompasses several ways such as providing corrective feedback (CF), categorizing errors, utilizing language learning apps for English, and implementing a systematic approach to monitoring and tracking progress. The study's findings provided valuable insights for educators, language learners, and app developers, offering a basis for targeted interventions. Additionally, future research may explore integrating emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and natural language processing to enhance error correction efficiency and personalized feedback on language learning platforms.

Among the famous and reliable corrections of Saadi's Bustan, including the corrected version of Professor Gholam Hossein Yousefi, despite many merits, there are some mistakes.Professor Yousefi's proofreading is important in the literary and academic community and is used and cited by professors and students as one of the main sources of Saadi's poetry.
