Recently, the regulation in several countries is opening the possibility for electricity end-users to directly transact with their neighbors, in the framework of energy communities. Energy communities equipped with both distributed generation units, mainly from photovoltaics, and storage units will favor the local balance between production and consumption during the day, with the advantages for the network of improved efficiency on the one hand, and of reduced use on the other. This chapter is aimed to analyze the impact on the operation and the planning of distribution networks where the use of energy trading between neighbors will become significant. The impact on the operation is mainly associated with the optimal scheduling of the generation and storage units available inside the local/citizen/renewable energy communities. The impact is also important for the future planning of network reinforcement since the increased adoption of neighborhood energy trading mechanisms allows deferring the grid investments.

Background: Sepsis-induced myocardial dysfunction is associated with poor outcomes, but traditional measurements of systolic function such as left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) do not directly correlate with prognosis. Global longitudinal strain (GLS) utilizing speckle-tracking echocardiography (STE) could be a better marker of intrinsic left ventricular (LV) function, reflecting myocardial deformation rather than displacement and volume changes. We sought to investigate the prognostic value of GLS in patients with sepsis and/or septic shock. Methods: We conducted a systematic review (PubMed and Embase up to 26 October 2017) and meta-analysis to investigate the association between GLS and mortality at longest follow up in patients with severe sepsis and/or septic shock. In the primary analysis, we included studies reporting transthoracic echocardiography data on GLS according to mortality. A secondary analysis evaluated the association between LVEF and mortality including data from studies reporting GLS. Results: We included eight studies in the primary analysis with a total of 794 patients (survival 68%, n=540). We found a significant association between worse LV function and GLS values and mortality: standard mean difference (SMD) -0.26; 95% confidence interval (CI) -0.47, -0.04; p=0.02 (low heterogeneity, I 2=43%). No significant association was found between LVEF and mortality in the same population of patients (eight studies; SMD, 0.02; 95% CI -0.14, 0.17; p=0.83; no heterogeneity, I 2=3%). Conclusions: Worse GLS (less negative)values are associated with higher mortality in patients with severe sepsis or septic shock, while such association is not valid for LVEF. More critical care research is warranted to confirm the better ability of STE in demonstrating underlying intrinsic myocardial disease compared to LVEF.

The pompous title of this essay is not intended, nor by far exhaust the subject pointingWeberian legitimacy, the posweberiana or discourse theory of law, but merely linking Habermasian study areas usually treated separately. The objective of establishing this link is to hold the hypothesis that it is possible a political alternative to the joint legal protohabermasiana (deliberative democratic) legitimacy from the paradigm of "rational choice" that involves a redirection of the notion of social rationality (works with, among others, the ideology in the law) without falling into the protective enclosure of the idea of the philosopher-king. In order to describe our hypothesis-no mercy to demonstrate the limits of this dissertation not permit-consider: (i) the phenomenon of pink (emancipatory) to read the legitimacy of law apart from strategic rationality, (ii) overcoming the peculiar strategic rationality for Habermas, and finally, (iii) the tendentious reading of the law Weberian legitimacy by Habermas., O grandiloquente título deste ensaio não pretende, nem com muito, esgotar as temáticas que assinalam —a legitimidade weberiana, a pós-weberiana o a teoria do discurso do direito do Habermas—, mas apenas vincular áreas de estudo, usualmente, tratadas em separado. O alvo que persegue estabelecer o ditointituloé sustentar a hipótese de que é possível uma alternativa juspolítica à articulação protohabermarsiana(democrático-deliberativa) da legitimidade do paradigma da “eleição racional” que implica um redirecionamento da noção da racionalidade social (com a que funciona, entre outros,a ideologia no Direito) sem cair no confinamento protetor da ideia do rei-filósofo. Com oescopo de descrevera nossa hipótese —não de demonstrá-la, mercê a que os limites desta dissertação não o permitem— consideraremos: (i) o fenômeno da rosa (emancipatório) de ler a legitimidade do direito à margem da racionalidade estratégica; (ii) a superação particularda racionalidade estratégica para o habermarsiano; e por último, (iii) a leitura tendenciosada legitimidade weberiana do direito dos habermarsianos., El pomposo título del presente ensayo no pretende, ni con mucho, agotar las temáticas que señala –la legitimidad weberiana, la posweberiana o la teoría del discurso del derecho habermasiana- sino apenas vincular áreas de estudio usualmente tratadas por separado. El objetivo que persigue establecer dicho vínculo es sostener la hipótesis de que es posible una alternativapolítico-jurídica a la articulación proto- habermasiana(democrático-deliberativa) de la legitimidad, desde el paradigma de la “elección racional”, que involucra un redireccionamiento de la noción de racionalidad social (con la que funciona, entre otros, la ideología en el Derecho), sin caer en el encierro protector de la idea del filósofo-rey1.Con el objeto de describir nuestra hipótesis –no de demostrarla merced a que los límites de esta disertación no lo permiten- consideraremos: (i) el fenómeno de rosa (emancipatorio) de leer la legitimidad del derecho al margen de racionalidad estratégica; (ii) la peculiar superación de la racionalidad estratégica para el habermasiano; y, por último, (iii) la tendenciosa lectura de la legitimidad weberiana del derecho por los habermasianos.

Pediculus humanus capitis was controled in humans using ethanol containing beverages. Organic solvent and destabilizer membrane properties of these alcohols are the main causes of insect death. Effective control was achieved using 15 or 50 ml of fire-water, (aguardiente), evenly disiributed on the scalp. A disposable plastic bag properly closed around the scalp for only 20-30 minutes provides a letal saturated atmosphere with alcohol water and C02 around the adult, larve and eggs of the insect. Some guidelines are suggested to ensure that optimum control is achieved., La pediculosis humana causada por el ectoparásito Pediculus humanus capitis, ha sido exitosamente controlada utilizando como insecticida los alcoholes presentes en las bebidas etílicas (aguardiente). La acción ietal de los alcoholes de bebida sobre el parásito es atribuida al efecto neurotóxico, así como a su acción desnaturalizante de biomoléculas celulares. El tratamiento se hace cubriendo el cabello y todas las áreas del cuero cabelludo con una bolsa plástica desechable, fijada con cinta adhesiva, previo remojo con 15-50 ml de alcohol de bebida, de todo el cabello. La atmósfera circundante del parásito queda saturada de vapores etílicos, de agua y CO2, por un período de 30-60 minutos, lo cual es letal para huevos, larvas y adultos del insecto parásito. Se dan normas cautelosas para garantizar la acción insecticida de los alcoholes de bebida en el control de la pediculosis.
