This research provides a case study of students registered with disabilities at one academic institution in Mississippi with three different libraries across all campuses and evaluates the existing literature in library and information science journals on academic libraries and students with disabilities between 2009 and the present. The case study provides findings on not just students with disabilities who are succeeding in a college setting, but students with disabilities who are failing. In the review of the literature, it includes an analysis of the methodologies used to collect data, and the analysis of the types of disabilities being studied along with the spaces or platforms being assessed. Special attention is given to studies using qualitative methods that allow student participants to provide feedback in their own words to provide context to the case study findings provided. Based on the findings, most of the studies utilized accessibility reviews to determine compliance with accepted standards. Studies also tended to prioritize an emphasis on students with visual disabilities, and most studies evaluated virtual spaces and studies. Less than a third of the studies included student viewpoints, which included requests for additional training for librarians, more accessible physical spaces, and more accessible electronic resources. The article discusses the copyright concerns of the University Libraries at the University of Southern Mississippi, as of March 2016. It states that the conditions of the university indicated the need of a unified copyright presence and an institutional opinion on copyright, and mentions that selection of members for a Copyright Taskforce. Libraries are tasked with upholding a code of ethics for patron privacy according to the Library Bill of Rights and the American Library Association's (ALA) Code of Ethics. However, patrons' personal identifiable information (PII) is being shared through various channels. As libraries move to more technical and digital based collections this creates more challenges to safeguarding patrons' privacy. This technical environment is where information now serves as a platform for library assessment analysis, access for patrons, and demonstration of impact. This study examines the values of e-resource librarians about privacy, the environmental factors influencing decisions, and if the e-resource librarian has a role in their organization's privacy standards. Data was collected through surveys, and the study found that there is a direct correlation between an organization having a policy on privacy and the e-resource librarians' values being represented in their role. There are also indications that the e-resource librarian believes their employer shares their values on privacy. Lastly, the study revealed two major external driving forces on privacy policy are vendors and US privacy policy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
