We investigate spin-rectification phenomena in canted antiferromagnets, closely connected to the family of altermagnetic materials. Our results show that excitation efficiency is significantly enhanced by the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction. Antiferromagnetic dynamics can be detected through spin-Hall magnetoresistance and bolometric effects, with an efficiency reaching up to mV/W. The rectified voltage shape is influenced by both the symmetry of the exciting torques, detection mechanisms (continuous spin-pumping and spin-Hall magnetoresistance), and the antiferromagnetic crystalline axis. Under high pumping power, we observe a saturation effect related to Suhl-like spin-wave instabilities and a nonlinear redshift of the antiferromagnetic resonance. These findings open new avenues for studying nonlinear dynamics in antiferromagnetic and altermagnetic spintronic devices.

Dissipative tunneling remains a cornerstone effect in quantum mechanics. In chemistry, it plays a crucial role in governing the rates of chemical reactions, often modeled as the motion along the reaction coordinate from one potential well to another. The relative positions of energy levels in these wells strongly influences the reaction dynamics. Chemical research will benefit from a fully controllable, asymmetric double-well equipped with precise measurement capabilities of the tunneling rates. In this paper, we show that a continuously driven Kerr parametric oscillator with a third order non-linearity can be operated in the quantum regime to create a fully tunable asymmetric double-well. Our experiment leverages a low-noise, all-microwave control system with a high-efficiency readout of the which-well information. We explore the reaction rates across the landscape of tunneling resonances in parameter space. We uncover two new and counter-intuitive effects: (i) a weak asymmetry can significantly decrease the activation rates, even though the well in which the system is initialized is made shallower, and (ii) the width of the tunneling resonances alternates between narrow and broad lines as a function of the well depth and asymmetry. We predict by numerical simulations that both effects will also manifest themselves in ordinary chemical double-well systems in the quantum regime. Our work paves the way for analog molecule simulators based on quantum superconducting circuits.

Chemical reactions are commonly described by the reactive flux transferring population from reactants to products across a double-well free energy barrier. Dynamics often involves barrier recrossing and quantum effects like tunneling, zero-point energy motion and interference, which traditional rate theories, such as transition-state theory, do not consider. In this study, we investigate the feasibility of simulating reaction dynamics using a parametrically driven bosonic superconducting Kerr-cat device. This approach provides control over parameters defining the double-well free energy profile, as well as external factors like temperature and the coupling strength between the reaction coordinate and the thermal bath of non-reactive degrees of freedom. We demonstrate the effectiveness of this protocol by showing that the dynamics of proton transfer reactions in prototypical benchmark model systems, such as hydrogen bonded dimers of malonaldehyde and DNA base pairs, could be accurately simulated on currently accessible Kerr-cat devices.

Perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA) and Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interactions are key interactions in modern spintronics. These interactions are thought to be dominated by the oxidation of the Co|Al interface in the archetypal Platinum-Cobalt-Aluminum oxide system. Here, we observe a double sign change in the anisotropy and about threefold variation in interfacial chiral interaction, influenced not only by the oxidation, but also by the metallic Al thickness. Contrary to previous assumptions about negligible spin-orbit effects at light metal interfaces, we not only observe strong PMA with fully oxidized Al, decreasing and turning negative (in-plane) with less oxygen at the Co|Al interface, we also observe that the magnetic anisotropy reverts to positive (out-of-plane) values at fully metallic Co|Al interface. These findings suggest modification in Co d band via Co|Al orbital hybridization, an effect supported by X-ray absorption spectroscopy and ab initio theory calculations, highlighting the key impact of strain on interfacial mechanisms at fully metallic Co|Al interface., Comment: 6 pages, 5 figures

Scaling up quantum computing devices requires solving ever more complex quantum control tasks. Machine learning has been proposed as a promising approach to tackle the resulting challenges. However, experimental implementations are still scarce. In this work, we demonstrate experimentally a neural-network-based preparation of Schr\"odinger cat states in a cavity coupled dispersively to a qubit. We show that it is possible to teach a neural network to output optimized control pulses for a whole family of quantum states. After being trained in simulations, the network takes a description of the target quantum state as input and rapidly produces the pulse shape for the experiment, without any need for time-consuming additional optimization or retraining for different states. Our experimental results demonstrate more generally how deep neural networks and transfer learning can produce efficient simultaneous solutions to a range of quantum control tasks, which will benefit not only state preparation but also parametrized quantum gates., Comment: 20 pages, appendix included

The workshop focused on the application of ANAs to particle physics keeping in mind the ultimate goal of a collider at the energy frontier (10\,TeV, e$^+$/e$^-$, e$^-$/e$^-$, or $\gamma\gamma$). The development of ANAs is conducted at universities and national laboratories worldwide. The community is thematically broad and diverse, in particular since lasers suitable for ANA research (multi-hundred-terawatt peak power, a few tens of femtosecond-long pulses) and acceleration of electrons to hundreds of mega electron volts to multi giga electron volts became commercially available. The community spans several continents (Europe, America, Asia), including more than 62 laboratories in more than 20 countries. It is among the missions of the ICFA-ANA panel to feature the amazing progress made with ANAs, to provide international coordination and to foster international collaborations towards a future HEP collider. The scope of this edition of the workshop was to discuss the recent progress and necessary steps towards realizing a linear collider for particle physics based on novel-accelerator technologies (laser or beam driven in plasma or structures). Updates on the relevant aspects of the European Strategy for Particle Physics (ESPP) Roadmap Process as well as of the P5 (in the US) were presented, and ample time was dedicated to discussions. The major outcome of the workshop is the decision for ALEGRO to coordinate efforts in Europe, in the US, and in Asia towards a pre-CDR for an ANA-based, 10\,TeV CM collider. This goal of this coordination is to lead to a funding proposal to be submitted to both EU and EU/US funding agencies. This paper introduces a new conservative fusion method to exploit the correlated components within the estimation errors. Fusion is the process of combining multiple estimates of a given state to produce a new estimate with a smaller MSE. To perform the optimal linear fusion, the (centralized) covariance associated with the errors of all estimates is required. If it is partially unknown, the optimal fusion cannot be computed. Instead, a solution is to perform a conservative fusion. A conservative fusion provides a gain and a bound on the resulting MSE matrix which guarantees that the error is not underestimated. A well-known conservative fusion is the Covariance Intersection fusion. It has been modified to exploit the uncorrelated components within the errors. In this paper, it is further extended to exploit the correlated components as well. The resulting fusion is integrated into standard distributed algorithms where it allows exploiting the process noise observed by all agents. The improvement is confirmed by simulations.

Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) are a widely used technology for positioning and navigation. GNSS positioning relies on pseudorange measurements from satellites to receivers. A pseudorange is the apparent distance between two agents deduced from the time-of-flight of a signal sent from one agent to the other. Because of the lack of synchronization between the agents' clocks, it is a biased version of their distance. This paper introduces a new rigidity theory adapted to pseudorange measurements. The peculiarity of pseudoranges is that they are asymmetrical measurements. Therefore, unlike other usual rigidities, the graphs of pseudorange frameworks are directed. In this paper, pseudorange rigidity is proved to be a generic property of the underlying undirected graph of constraints. The main result is a characterization of rigid pseudorange graphs as combinations of rigid distance graphs and connected graphs. This new theory is adapted for GNSS. It provides new insights into the minimum number of satellites needed to locate a receiver, and is applied to the localization of GNSS cooperative networks of receivers. The interests of asymmetrical constraints in the context of formation control are also discussed.

External control arms (ECA) can inform the early clinical development of experimental drugs and provide efficacy evidence for regulatory approval. However, the main challenge in implementing ECA lies in accessing real-world or historical clinical trials data. Indeed, regulations protecting patients' rights by strictly controlling data processing make pooling data from multiple sources in a central server often difficult. To address these limitations, we develop a new method, 'FedECA' that leverages federated learning (FL) to enable inverse probability of treatment weighting (IPTW) for time-to-event outcomes on separate cohorts without needing to pool data. To showcase the potential of FedECA, we apply it in different settings of increasing complexity culminating with a real-world use-case in which FedECA provides evidence for a differential effect between two drugs that would have otherwise go unnoticed. We report investigations of the magnetic textures in periodic [Pt(1 nm)/(CoFeB(0.8 nm)/Ru(1.4 nm)]$_{10}$ multilayers using polarised neutron reflectometry (PNR) and small-angle neutron scattering (SANS). The multilayers are known to host skyrmions stabilized by Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interactions induced by broken inversion symmetry and spin-orbit coupling at the asymmetric interfaces. From depth-dependent PNR measurements, we observe well-defined structural features, and obtain the layer-resolved magnetization profiles. The in-plane magnetization of the CoFeB layers calculated from fitting of the PNR profiles is found to be in excellent agreement with magnetometry data. Using SANS as a bulk probe of the entire multilayer, we observe long-period magnetic stripe domains and skyrmion ensembles with full orientational disorder at room temperature. No sign of skyrmions is found below 250\,K, which we suggest is due to an increase of a effective magnetic anisotropy in the CoFeB layer on cooling that suppresses skyrmion stability. Using polarised SANS at room temperature, we prove the existence of pure N\'eel-type windings in both stripe domain and skyrmion regimes. No Bloch-type winding admixture, i.e. an indication for hybrid windings, is detected within the measurement sensitivity, in good agreement with expectations according to our micromagnetic modelling of the multilayers. Our findings using neutron techniques offer valuable microscopic insights into the rich magnetic behavior of skyrmion-hosting multilayers, which are essential for the advancement of future skyrmion-based spintronic devices.

Integrating magnetic skyrmion properties into neuromorphic computing promises advancements in hardware efficiency and computational power. However, a scalable implementation of the weighted sum of neuron signals, a core operation in neural networks, has yet to be demonstrated. In this study, we exploit the non-volatile and particle-like characteristics of magnetic skyrmions, akin to synaptic vesicles and neurotransmitters, to perform this weighted sum operation in a compact, biologically-inspired manner. To this aim, skyrmions are electrically generated in numbers proportional to the input with an efficiency given by a non-volatile weight. These chiral particles are then directed using localized current injections to a location where their presence is quantified through non-perturbative electrical measurements. Our experimental demonstration, currently with two inputs, can be scaled to accommodate multiple inputs and outputs using a crossbar array design, potentially nearing the energy efficiency observed in biological systems., Comment: 12 pages, 5 figures

Controlling magnetic properties through the application of an electric field is a significant challenge in modern nanomagnetism. In this study, we investigate the magneto-ionic control of magnetic anisotropy in the topmost Co layer in Ta/Pt/[Co/Al/Pt]$_n$/Co/Al/AlO$_\text{x}$ multilayer stacks comprising $n +1$ Co layers and its impact on the magnetic properties of the multilayers. We demonstrate that the perpendicular magnetic anisotropy can be reversibly quenched through gate-driven oxidation of the intermediary Al layer between Co and AlO$_\text{x}$, enabling dynamic control of the magnetic layers contributing to the out-of-plane remanence - varying between $n$ and $n +1$. For multilayer configurations with $n = 2$ and $n = 4$, we observe reversible and non-volatile additions of 1/3 and 1/5, respectively, to the anomalous Hall effect amplitude based on the applied gate voltage. Magnetic imaging reveals that the gate-induced spin-reorientation transition occurs through the propagation of a single 90$^{\circ}$ magnetic domain wall separating the perpendicular and in-plane anisotropy states. In the 5-repetition multilayer, the modification leads to a doubling of the period of the magnetic domains at remanence. These results demonstrate that the magneto-ionic control of the anisotropy of a single magnetic layer can be used to control the magnetic properties of coupled multilayer systems, extending beyond the gating effects on a single magnetic layer., Comment: 9 pages + 3 pages of supplementary materials, 5 main figures + 6 supplementary figures

The generation of large spin currents, and the associated spin torques, which are at the heart of modern spintronics, have long been achieved by charge-to-spin conversion mechanisms, i.e. the spin Hall effect and/or the Rashba effect, intrinsically linked to a strong spin-orbit coupling. Recently, a novel path has been predicted and observed for achieving significant current-induced torques originating from light elements, hence possessing a weak spin-orbit interaction. These findings point out to the potential involvement of the orbital counterpart of electrons, namely the orbital Hall and orbital Rashba effects. In this study, we aim at quantifying these orbital-related contributions to the effective torques acting on a thin Co layer in different systems. First, in Pt|Co|Cu|AlOx stacking, we demonstrate a comparable torque strength coming from the conversion due to the orbital Rashba effect at the Cu|AlOx interface and the one from the effective spin Hall effect in bottom Pt|Co system. Secondly, in order to amplify the orbital-to-spin conversion, we investigate the impact of an intermediate Pt layer in Co|Pt|Cu|CuOx. From the Pt thickness dependence of the effective torques determined by harmonic Hall measurements complemented by spin Hall magneto-resistance and THz spectroscopy experiments, we demonstrate that a large orbital Rashba effect is present at the Cu|CuOx interface, leading to a twofold enhancement of the net torques on Co for the optimal Pt thickness. Our findings not only demonstrate the crucial role that orbital currents can play in low-dimensional systems with weak spin-orbit coupling, but also reveal that they enable more energy efficient manipulation of magnetization in spintronic devices., Comment: 12 pages,6 figures

Knowledge of the electric field of femtosecond, high intensity laser pulses is of paramount importance to study the interaction of this class of lasers with matter. A novel, hybrid method to reconstruct the laser field from fluence measurements in the transverse plane at multiple positions along the propagation axis is presented, combining a Hermite-Gauss modes decomposition and elements of the Gerchberg-Saxton algorithm. The proposed Gerchberg-Saxton algorithm with modes decomposition (GSA-MD) takes into account the pointing instabilities of high intensity laser systems by tuning the centers of the HG modes. Furthermore, it quickly builds a field description by progressively increasing the number of modes and thus the accuracy of the field reconstruction. The results of field reconstruction using the GSA-MD are shown to be in excellent agreement with experimental measurements from two different high-peak power laser facilities.

Linear fusion is a cornerstone of estimation theory. Optimal linear fusion was derived by Bar-Shalom and Campo in the 1980s. It requires knowledge of the cross-covariances between the errors of the estimators. In distributed or cooperative systems, these cross-covariances are difficult to compute. To avoid an underestimation of the errors when these cross-covariances are unknown, conservative fusions must be performed. A conservative fusion provides a fused estimator with a covariance bound which is guaranteed to be larger than the true (but not computable) covariance of the error. Previous research by Reinhardt et al. proved that, if no additional assumption is made about the errors of the estimators, the minimal bound for fusing two estimators is given by a fusion called Covariance Intersection (CI). In practice, the errors of the estimators often have an uncorrelated component, because the dynamic or measurement noise is assumed to be independent. In this context, CI is no longer the optimal method and an adaptation called Split Covariance Intersection (SCI) has been designed to take advantage from these uncorrelated components. The contribution of this paper is to prove that SCI is the optimal fusion rule for two estimators under the assumption that they have an uncorrelated component. It is proved that SCI provides the optimal covariance bound with respect to any increasing cost function. To prove the result, a minimal volume that should contain all conservative bounds is derived, and the SCI bounds are proved to be the only bounds that tightly circumscribe this minimal volume.

Cooperative localization is a promising solution to improve the accuracy and overcome the shortcomings of GNSS. Cooperation is often achieved by measuring the distance between users. To optimally integrate a distance measurement between two users into a navigation filter, the correlation between the errors of their estimates must be known. Unfortunately, in large scale networks the agents cannot compute these correlations and must use consistent filters. A consistent filter provides an upper bound on the covariance of the error of the estimator taking into account all the possible correlations. In this paper, a consistent linear filter for integrating a distance measurement is derived using Split Covariance Intersection. Its analysis shows that a distance measurement between two agents can only benefit one of them, i.e., only one of the two can use the distance measurement to improve its estimator. Furthermore, in some cases, none can. A necessary condition for an agent to benefit from the measurement is given for a general class of objective functions. When the objective function is the trace or the determinant, necessary and sufficient conditions are given.

Despite significant advances in the last decade regarding the room temperature stabilization of skyrmions or their current induced dynamics, the impact of local material inhomogeneities still remains an important issue that impedes to reach the regime of steady state motion of these spin textures. Here, we study the spin-torque driven motion of skyrmions in synthetic ferrimagnetic multilayers with the aim of achieving high mobility and reduced skyrmion Hall effect. We consider Pt|Co|Tb multilayers of various thicknesses with antiferromagnetic coupling between the Co and Tb magnetization. The increase of Tb thickness in the multilayers allows to reduce the total magnetic moment and increases the spin-orbit torques allowing to reach velocities up to 400 m.s-1 for skyrmions with diameters of about 160 nm. We demonstrate that due to reduced skyrmion Hall effect, combined with the edge repulsion of the magnetic track making the skyrmions moving along the track without any transverse deflection. Further, by comparing the field-induced domain wall motion and current-induced skyrmion motion, we demonstrate that the skyrmions at the largest current densities present all the characteristics of a dynamical flow regime., Comment: 14 pages, 4 figures

The quality of electron bunches accelerated by laser wakefields is highly dependant on the temporal and spatial features of the laser driver. Analysis of experiments performed at APOLLON PW-class laser facility shows that spatial instabilities of the focal spot, such as shot-to-shot pointing fluctuations or asymmetry of the transverse fluence, lead to charge and energy degradation of the accelerated electron bunch. It is shown that PIC simulations can reproduce experimental results with a significantly higher accuracy when the measured laser asymmetries are included in the simulated laser's transverse profile, compared to simulations with ideal, symmetric laser profile. A method based on a modified Gerchberg-Saxton iterative algorithm is used to retrieve the laser electric field from fluence measurements in vacuum in the focal volume, and accurately reproduce experimental results using PIC simulations, leading to simulated electron spectra in close agreement with experimental results, for the accelerated charge, energy distribution and pointing of the electron beam at the exit of the plasma.

We report on the first experimental characterisation of a gamma-ray spectrometer designed to spectrally resolve high-flux photon beams with energies in the GeV range. The spectrometer has been experimentally characterised using a bremsstrahlung source obtained at the Apollon laser facility during the interaction of laser-wakefield accelerated electron beams (maximum energy of 1.7 GeV and overall charge of 207$\pm$62 pC) with a 1 mm thick tantalum target. Experimental data confirms the possibility of performing single-shot measurements, without the need for accumulation, with a high signal to noise ratio. Scaling the results to photons in the multi-GeV range suggests the possibility of achieving percent-level energy resolution, as required, for instance, by the next generation of experiments in strong-field quantum electrodynamics., Comment: 20 pages, 7 figures; changes - expanded explanations, results and conclusions unchanged

Laser-driven plasma wakefields can provide hundreds of MeV electron beam in mm-range distances potentially shrinking the dimension of the actual particle accelerators. The plasma density plays a fundamental role in the control and stability of the acceleration process, which is a key development for the future electron injector proposed by EuPRAXIA. A gas cell was designed by LPGP and LIDYL teams, with variable length and backing pressure, to confine the gas and tailor the gas density profile before the arrival of the laser. This cell was used during an experimental campaign with the multi TW-class laser at the Lund Laser Centre. Ionization assisted injection in a tailored density profile is used to tune the electron beam properties. During the experiment, we filled the gas cell with hydrogen mixed with different concentration of nitrogen. We also varied the backing pressure of the gas and the geometrical length of the gas cell. We used a transverse probe to acquire shadowgraphic images of the plasma and to measure the plasma electron density. Existence of Anderson localization is considered a manifestation of coherence of classical and quantum waves in disordered systems. Signatures of localization have been observed in condensed matter and cold atomic systems where the coupling to the environment can be significantly suppressed but not eliminated. In this work we explore the phenomena of localization in random Lindbladian dynamics describing open quantum systems. We propose a model of one-dimensional chain of non-interacting, spinless fermions coupled to a local ensemble of baths. The jump operator mediating the interaction with the bath linked to each site has a power-law tail with an exponent $p$. We show that the steady state of the system undergoes a localization entanglement phase transition by tuning $p$ which remains stable in the presence of coherent hopping. Unlike the entanglement transition in the quantum trajectories of open systems, this transition is exhibited by the averaged steady state density matrix of the Lindbladian. The steady state in the localized phase is characterised by a heterogeneity in local population imbalance, while the jump operators exhibit a constant participation ratio of the sites they affect. Magnonic nano-devices exploit magnons -- quanta of spin waves -- to transmit and process information within a single integrated platform that has the potential to outperform traditional semiconductor-based electronics for low power applications. The main missing cornerstone of this information nanotechnology is an efficient scheme for the direct amplification of propagating spin waves. The recent discovery of spin-orbit torque provided an elegant mechanism for propagation losses compensation. While partial compensation of the spin-wave damping has allowed for spin-wave signal modulation, true amplification - the exponential increase in the spin-wave intensity during propagation - has so far remained elusive. Here we evidence the operating conditions to achieve unambiguous amplification using clocked nanoseconds-long spin-orbit torque pulses in sub-micrometer wide magnonic waveguides, where the effective magnetization has been engineered to be close to zero to suppress the detrimental magnon-magnon scattering. As a result, we achieve an exponential increase in the intensity of propagating spin waves up to 500 % at a propagation distance of several micrometers. The development and characterization of three-dimensional (3D) topological magnetic textures has become an important topic in modern magnetism both for fundamental and technological perspectives. Among the novel 3D spin textures, skyrmionic cocoons have been successfully stabilized in magnetic multilayers having a variable thickness of the ferromagnet in the vertical direction of the stack. These ellipsoidal 3D magnetic textures remain vertically confined in a fraction of the total thickness while coexisting with fully columnar skyrmions. Here, we use X-ray holography with about 15 nm lateral resolution to investigate how their properties depend on the field and temperature. We observe circular objects with different amplitude of contrast which evidences the presence of different 3D objects located in various vertical parts of the multilayer. Moreover, we witness during out-of-plane cycling an attractive interaction between cocoons located at various heights, mainly due to the stray field, which impacts their horizontal positioning. The X-ray holography measurements also allow to determine the size of the cocoons at remanence which, at room temperature, possess diameter close to 100 nm in average. Combining this transmission technique with magnetic force microscopy and micromagnetic simulations gives a precise insight into the 3D distribution of the magnetization which demonstrate the 3D nature of skyrmionic cocoons., Comment: 12 pages, 4 figures

Thin garnet films are becoming central for magnon-spintronics and spin-orbitronics devices as they show versatile magnetic properties together with low magnetic losses. These fields would benefit from materials in which heat does not affect the magnetization dynamics, an effect known as the non-linear thermal frequency shift. In this study, low damping Bi substituted Iron garnet (Bi:YIG) ultra-thin films have been grown using Pulsed Laser Deposition. Through a fine tuning of the growth parameters, the precise control of the perpendicular magnetic anisotropy allows to achieve a full compensation of the dipolar magnetic anisotropy. Strikingly, once the growth conditions are optimized, varying the growth temperature from 405 {\deg}C to 475 {\deg}C as the only tuning parameter induces the easy-axis to go from out-of-plane to in-plane. For films that are close to the dipolar compensation, Ferromagnetic Resonance measurements yield an effective magnetization $\mu _{0}M_{eff} (T)$ that has almost no temperature dependence over a large temperature range (260 K to 400 K) resulting in an anisotropy temperature exponent of 2. These findings put Bi:YIG system among the very few materials in which the temperature dependence of the magnetic anisotropy varies at the same rate than the saturation magnetization. We present the parametric excitation of spin-wave modes in YIG micro-disks via parallel pumping. Their spectroscopy is performed using magnetic resonance force microscopy (MRFM), while their spatial profiles are determined by micro-focus Brillouin light scattering (BLS). We observe that almost all the fundamental eigenmodes of an in-plane magnetized YIG micro-disk, calculated using a micromagnetic eigenmode solver, can be excited using the parallel pumping scheme, as opposed to the transverse one. The comparison between the MRFM and BLS data on one side, and the simulations on the other side, provides the complete spectroscopic labeling of over 40 parametrically excited modes. Spin-waves in antiferromagnets hold the prospects for the development of faster, less power-hungry electronics, as well as promising physics based on spin-superfluids and coherent magnon-condensates. For both these perspectives, addressing electrically coherent antiferromagnetic spin-waves is of importance, a prerequisite that has so far been elusive, because unlike ferromagnets,antiferromagnets couple weakly to radiofrequency fields. Here, we demonstrate the detection of ultra-fast non-reciprocal spin-waves in the dipolar-exchange regime of a canted antiferromagnet using both inductive and spintronic transducers. Using time-of-flight spin-wave spectroscopy on hematite ({\alpha}-Fe2O3), we find that the magnon wave packets can propagate as fast as 20 km/s for reciprocal bulk spin-wave modes and up to 6 km/s for surface-spin waves propagating parallel to the antiferromagnetic Neel vector. We finally achieve efficient electrical detection of non-reciprocal spin-wave transport using non-local inverse spin-Hall effects. The electrical detection of coherent non-reciprocal antiferromagnetic spin waves paves the way for the development of antiferromagnetic and altermagnet-based magnonic devices.

Spintronic nano-oscillators with reduced non-linearity could offer key benefits for realizing neuromorphic applications such as spike-based neurons and frequency multiplexing in neural networks. Here, we experimentally demonstrate the reduction in non-linearity of a spin-Hall nano-oscillator (SHNO) by compensation of its effective magnetic anisotropy. The study involves optimization of Co/Ni multilayer growth to achieve the compensation, followed by spin diode measurements on patterned microstrips to quantify their anisotropy. The relation between the second ($H_{k2}$ = 0.47 mT) and the first order ($H_{k1}^{eff}$ = $-$0.8 mT) anisotropy fields reveals the existence of an easy cone, thereby validating the presence of compensation. Furthermore, we demonstrate a synapse based on the compensated spin diode which has a fixed frequency when the input power is varied. We then study the current-induced auto-oscillation properties of SHNOs on compensated films by patterning nano-constrictions of widths 200 and 100 nm. The invariance of the resonance frequency and linewidth of the compensated SHNO with applied dc current indicates the absence of non-linearity. This independence is maintained irrespective of the applied external fields and its orientations. The compensated SHNO obtained has a linewidth of 1.1 MHz and a peak output power of up to 1 pW/MHz emulating a nano-neuron with a low linewidth and a fixed frequency.

Room-temperature stabilization of skyrmions in magnetic multilayered systems is the result of a fine balance between different magnetic interactions namely symmetric and antisymmetric exchange, dipolar, perpendicular magnetic anisotropy as well as, in most cases, Zeeman through an applied external field. Such field-driven stabilization approach is not compatible with most of the anticipated skyrmion based applications, e.g. skyrmion memories, logic or neuromorphic computing which motivates a reduction or a cancellation of field requirements. Here we present a method to stabilize at room-temperature and zero-field, a densely packed skyrmion phase in ferromagnetic multilayers with moderate number of repetitions. To this aim, we finely tune the multilayer parameters to stabilize a dense skyrmion phase. Then, relying on the interlayer electronic coupling to an adjacent bias magnetic layer with strong perpendicular magnetic anisotropy and uniform magnetization, we demonstrate the stabilization of sub-60 nm diameter skyrmion at zero-field with adjustable skyrmion density., Comment: 6 + 2 supplementary pages. 5 + 4 SI Figures

This review provides a comprehensive study of the nonlinear transport properties of magnons, which are electrically emitted or absorbed inside extended YIG films by spin transfer effects via a YIG$\vert$Pt interface. Our purpose is to experimentally elucidate the pertinent picture behind the asymmetric electrical variation of the magnon transconductance analogous to an electric diode. The feature is rooted in the variation of the density of low-lying spin excitations via an electrical shift of the magnon chemical potential. As the intensity of the spin transfer increases in the forward direction (regime of magnon emission), the transport properties of low-energy magnon go through 3 distinct regimes: \textit{i)} at low currents, where the spin current is a linear function of the electrical current, the spin transport is ballistic and set by the film thickness; \textit{ii)} for amplitudes of the order of the damping compensation threshold, it switches to a highly correlated regime limited by magnon-magnon relaxation process and marked by a saturation of the magnon transconductance. Here the main bias, that controls the magnon density, are thermal fluctuations beneath the emitter. \textit{iii)} As the temperature under the emitter approaches the Curie temperature, scattering with high-energy magnons dominates, leading to diffusive transport. We note that such sequence of transport regimes bears analogy with electron hydrodynamic transport in ultra-pure media predicted by Radii Gurzhi. This study restricted to low energy part of the magnon manifold complements part II of this review\cite{kohno_2F}, which concentrates instead on the whole spectrum of propagating magnons.

This review presents a comprehensive study of the spatial dispersion of propagating magnons electrically emitted in extended yttrium-iron garnet (YIG) films by the spin transfer effects across a YIG$\vert$Pt interface. Our goal is to provide a generic framework to describe the magnon transconductance inside magnetic films. We experimentally elucidate the relevant spectral contributions by studying the lateral decay of the magnon signal. While most of the injected magnons do not reach the collector, the propagating magnons can be split into two-fluids: \textit{i)} a large fraction of high-energy magnons carrying energy of about $k_B T_0$, where $T_0$ is the lattice temperature, with a characteristic decay length in the sub-micrometer range, and \textit{ii)} a small fraction of low-energy magnons, which are particles carrying energy of about $\hbar \omega_K$, where $\omega_K/(2 \pi)$ is the Kittel frequency, with a characteristic decay length in the micrometer range. Taking advantage of their different physical properties, the low-energy magnons can become the dominant fluid \textit{i)} at large spin transfer rates for the bias causing the emission of magnons, \textit{ii)} at large distance from the emitter, \textit{iii)} at small film thickness, or \textit{iv)} for reduced band mismatch between the YIG below the emitter and the bulk due to variation of the magnon concentration. This broader picture complements part I \cite{kohno_SD}, which focuses solely on the nonlinear transport properties of low-energy magnons.
