En este ensayo empleamos fuentes nuevas y subutilizadas para ofrecer una cronología del temprano comercio de esclavos desde Angola hacia Hispanoamérica, lo cual comenzó con dos navíos que zarparon de la Isla de Luanda justo después de la llegada del primer gobernador de la Angola portuguesa. Semejantes viajes al Caribe y al Río de la Plata eran comunes a partir de 1595, pero en la década anterior la trata de africanos esclavizados desde Angola hacia Hispanoamérica fue en gran medida una extensión de un tráfico más viejo y más intensivo desde Angola hacia Brasil.

PURPOSE Liquid biopsies in metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC) provide a unique approach to understand the molecular basis of treatment response and resistance. This is particularly important in the context of immunotherapies, which target key immune-tumor interactions. Unlike metastatic tissue biopsies, serial real-time profiling of mRCC is feasible with our noninvasive circulating tumor cell (CTC) approach. METHODS We collected 457 longitudinal liquid biopsies from 104 patients with mRCC enrolled in one of two studies, either a prospective cohort or a phase II multicenter adaptive immunotherapy trial. Using a novel CTC capture and automated microscopy platform, we profiled CTC enumeration and expression of HLA I and programmed cell death-ligand 1 (PD-L1). Given their diametric immunological roles, we focused on the HLA I to PD-L1 ratio (HP ratio). RESULTS Patients with radiographic responses showed significantly lower CTC abundances throughout treatment. Furthermore, patients whose CTC enumeration trajectory was in the highest quartile (> 0.12 CTCs/mL annually) had shorter overall survival (median 17.0 months v 21.1 months, P < .001). Throughout treatment, the HP ratio decreased in patients receiving immunotherapy but not in patients receiving tyrosine kinase inhibitors. Patients with an HP ratio trajectory in the highest quartile (≥ 0.0012 annually) displayed significantly shorter overall survival (median 18.4 months v 21.2 months, P = .003). CONCLUSION In the first large longitudinal CTC study in mRCC to date to our knowledge, we identified the prognostic importance of CTC enumeration and the change over time of both CTC enumeration and the HP ratio. These insights into changes in both tumor burden and the molecular profile of tumor cells in response to different treatments provide potential biomarkers to predict and monitor response to immunotherapy in mRCC.

Zusammenfassung Hintergrund und Fragestellung Ziel dieser wissenschaftlichen Arbeit war es, Genderaspekte und Trends in Klinik, Forschung und Niederlassung in der Urologie zu analysieren. Dabei lag der Fokus auf der Objektivierung des genderspezifischen Wandels im Fachgebiet „Urologie“ zum aktuellen Zeitpunkt und in der Zukunft. Material und Methoden Es erfolgte eine digitale Umfrage bei urologischen Ärzt:innen in Deutschland über das Portal SurveyMonkey©, welche über den E‑Mail-Verteiler der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Urologie e. V. (DGU) und des Berufsverbands der Deutschen Urologen e. V. (BvDU) an alle eingetragenen Mitglieder verschickt wurde. Es wurden Basisdaten im ambulanten und stationären Sektor erhoben, sowie geschlechtsspezifische Daten in Bezug auf Arbeitsplatzverteilung, Ziele, Zufriedenheit und Gründe für berufliche Entscheidungen. Ergebnisse Die Auswertung von 398 Antworten ergab, dass urologische Kolleg:innen in der Niederlassung seltener weiblich (23,6 %) und deutlich älter (mittleres Alter 53 Jahre) waren als im stationären Sektor (Frauenanteil 47,2 %, mittleres Alter 43 Jahre). Niedergelassene Vertragsärzt:innen waren mehr Männer (49,4 %) als Frauen (29,9 %) und die Niederlassung wurde von mehr Männern als Berufswunsch angegeben (28,1 % vs. 22,8 %). Die Gründe für die Niederlassung lagen bei Frauen häufiger im familiären Bereich als bei den Männern (Hauptgründe gute Gelegenheit oder Berufswunsch). Frauen arbeiteten häufiger Teilzeit (27,0 % vs. 11,5 %) und strebten häufiger eine Karriere als Oberärztin an (29,1 % der Frauen, 9,4 % der Männer). Entsprechend war der Wunsch nach einer Habilitation oder Professur bei den Frauen häufiger als bei den Männern (20,5 % vs. 15 %). Signifikant mehr Urologinnen sahen eine Ungleichheit bei den beruflichen Aufstiegschancen (59,7 % vs. 17,5 %, p p p = 0,008), sowie einem geringeren Gefühl der Wertschätzung (p Schlussfolgerung Um die Urologie zukunftsfähig zu machen ist es essenziell, Genderaspekte noch stärker zu berücksichtigen. Der eingeschlagene Weg, der nächsten Generation von Urolog:innen ein modernes Fachgebiet zu bieten, in dem alle Ärzt:innen unabhängig von ihrem Geschlecht gerne arbeiten, wertgeschätzt werden und Chancengleichheit herrscht, sollte unbedingt weiter verfolgt und intensiviert werden, um die Urologie für die Zukunft gut aufzustellen.

Purpose Drawing on Ducoffe’s advertising value model, this study aims to integrate additional constructs (credibility, fantasy and visual appeal) as important antecedents to the perceived advertising value of vlogs. The study also examines the mediating role of place attachment between perceived advertising value and intention to visit a destination. Design/methodology/approach A total of 267 valid online questionnaires were collected among Pakistanis who (regularly, frequently, weekly or at least monthly) watch vlogs of tourist places on social networking sites and YouTube. Findings The empirical results using the partial least squares structural equation modeling approach show that informativeness, entertainment and credibility have significant positive effects, whereas irritation negatively impacts advertising value. The study also supports the positive effect of advertising value on visit intention and the mediating role of place attachment. Originality/value These findings reinforce a paradigm shift in advertising building on personal credibility, experiences and trustworthiness. This study contributes to the line of research that links promotional activities, destination image, tourists’ attitudes, visit intention and behavior.

Elbow fractures are the most common pediatric fractures requiring operative treatment. Although recent reports have suggested that the COVID-19 pandemic has markedly reduced the incidence of pediatric fractures, no study has specifically evaluated the impact on pediatric elbow fractures. This study aimed to evaluate changes in the incidence, severity, and resource utilization for managing pediatric elbow fractures during the COVID-19 pandemic, compared with prepandemic years.A prepandemic (2007 to 2017) cohort and a COVID-19 pandemic period (March 2020 to March 2021) cohort of pediatric elbow injuries from a single tertiary hospital were retrospectively examined and compared. Exclusion criteria included outside treatment or lack of diagnosis by an orthopedist. Presentation information, injury patterns, transport, and treatment requirements were collected.Although the incidence of pediatric elbow fractures and rate of neurovascular injury were comparable, seasonal patterns were not sustained and the rate of fracture displacement was found to be significantly elevated in the COVID-19 period compared with nonpandemic years. Likewise, marked changes to where patients first presented (emergency department vs. Clinic), how the patients were transported, and the distance traveled for care were observed. Specifically, patients were more likely to present to the clinic, were more likely to self-transport instead of using emergency medical service transportation, and traveled a greater distance for care, on average. Aligning with these changes, the resources utilized for the treatment of pediatric elbow fracture markedly changed during the COVID-19 period. This study found that there was an increase in the overall number of surgeries performed, the total operative time required to treat elbow fractures, and the number of patients requiring admission during the COVID-19 period.These data provide a contrasting viewpoint to prior reports, illustrating that the incidence of elbow fractures remained consistent during the COVID-19 period, whereas the operative volume and need for hospital admission increased compared with years prior. Furthermore, this study demonstrated how the COVID-19 pandemic altered the interface between pediatric patients with elbow fractures and our institution regarding the location of presentation and transportation.Level III-retrospective cohort study.

Aim\ud Roads are a major threat for wildlife, degrading habitat and causing mortality via wildlife-vehicle collisions. In Latin America, the conjunction of high biodiversity and a rapidly expanding road network is reason for concern. We introduce an approach that combines species traits and habitat preferences to describe vulnerability and map high roadkill risk areas. Thus, we present the first assessment of roadkill impacts for Latin American birds and mammals. \ud Location\ud Latin America.\ud Time period\ud 1994–2020.\ud Major taxa studied\ud Birds and mammals.\ud Methods\ud We compiled data from 85 roadkill surveys from Latin America that provided 1691 roadkill rate estimates for 346 bird and 159 mammalian species, from which, 520 rates from 249 birds and 457 rates from 103 mammals were used for analyses. We applied Random Forest models to predict observed roadkill rates considering species’ traits, habitat preferences, and the geographic coordinates of each study to control for local and regional variation. Fitted models were used to predict spatial risks in Latin American roads for roadkilled birds and mammals across their areas of habitat.\ud Results\ud We found higher roadkill rates in larger birds and medium-sized mammals with faster reproduction (more clutches/litters per year and early maturity ages), higher population densities, and wider use of habitats that included anthropized areas. In mammals, scavengers and those with diets based on invertebrates showed higher rates. Spatial predictions revealed higher rates in roads across Central America, northern Andean regions, eastern Brazil, Uruguay, central-eastern Argentina, and southern Chile. \ud Main conclusions\ud This first comprehensive assessment for Latin America explores various drivers of roadkill risk for birds and mammals and identifies species and areas where existing roads can impact wildlife. Trait-based models fine-tuned with realistic spatial information that accounts for habitat suitability provide a valuable tool for the assessment of human impacts including roads and traffic.

Vibronic coupling, the interplay of electronic and nuclear vibrational motion, is considered a critical mechanism in photoinduced reactions such as energy transfer, charge transfer, and singlet fission. However, our understanding of how particular vibronic couplings impact excited-state dynamics is lacking due to the limited number of experimental studies of model molecular systems. Herein, we use two-dimensional electronic spectroscopy (2DES) to launch and interrogate a range of vibronic coherences in two distinct types of perylenediimide slip stacks─along the short and long molecular axes, which form either an excimer or a mixed state between the Frenkel exciton (FE) and charge transfer states. We explore the functionality of these vibronic coherences using quantum beatmaps, which display the Fourier amplitude signal oscillations as a function of pump and probe frequencies, along with knowledge of the characteristic signatures of the FE, ionic, and excimer species. We find that a low-frequency vibrational mode of the short-axis slip stack appears concomitantly with the formation of the excimer state, survives 2-fold longer than in the FE state in the reference monomer, and shows a phase shift compared to other modes. For the long-axis slip stacks, a pair of low-frequency modes coupled to a high-frequency coordinate of the FE state were found to play a critical role in mixed-state generation. Our findings thus experimentally reveal the complex and varying roles of vibronic couplings in tightly packed multimers undergoing a range of photoinduced processes.

Prosthetic hip dislocation remains one of the most frequent complications following total hip replacement. Dislocations are predominantly managed by a closed reduction in the emergency department (ED) or the operating room (OR). This study aimed to evaluate how the location of an initial closed reduction attempt impacts a patient's course of care including length of stay (LOS) and cost of care.A retrospective chart review was performed on all patients presenting to a single ED with a unilateral prosthetic hip dislocation from 2009 to 2019. A total of 108 patients were identified. Data collected included patient demographics, ED/hospital course, and hospital charges.Seventy-four patients (69%) had initial reduction attempted in the ED (65/74, 88% were successful), while 34 patients (31%) went directly to OR (100% successful with closed reduction). Failed closed reduction in ED or direct to OR resulted in a greater LOS and rate of placement to a skilled nursing facility following discharge. Median hospital charges for successful ED reduction were $6,837, while failed ED closed reduction or direct to OR resulted in median charges of $27,317 and $20,481, respectively.Many patients successfully underwent closed reduction in the ED, and there was no difference in complications, independent of where the reduction was first performed. Patients undergoing reduction in the OR had greater LOS and cost of care, independent of whether a reduction attempt was performed and failed in the ED, than those successfully reduced in the ED.

A variety of hydrothermal or electrochemical methods have been explored to prepare noble metal nanostructures as surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) substrates. However, most of those metallic nanoarrays are structurally homogeneous, which makes it laborious to select the high-performance substrates for particular Raman sensing purposes. Here, a high-throughput SERS imaging strategy is demonstrated for the first time for screening chemical sensors with sub-nanomolar sensitivities. Bipolar electrochemistry was applied to generate Au or Au-Ag gradient nanoarrays with diverse chemical compositions, morphologies, and particle dimensions ranging from several nanometers to micrometers. The selected "hot-spots" on the Au-Ag alloy nanoarray exhibited a 660-fold enhancement in SERS intensity compared to those on the pure Au gradient nanoarray. The SERS screening of 4-aminothiophenol, 4-nitrothiophenol, and 4-mercaptobenzoic acid was carried out that provided a limit of detection (LOD) between 1 and 5 pM. The distinctive LODs among three thiophenolic Raman probes are ascribed to the differences in the affinity of the probe to the alloy, orientation of the metal-ligand monolayer, or plasmonic environment of the nanoarray surface. As a continuous, rapid, and cost-effective manner to fabricate transitional nanostructures and screen out SERS responsive sites, this method not only facilitates controllable synthesis of noble metal nanoarrays but has the potential to provide an alternative tool for ultrasensitive chemical sensing on a wide range of bimetallic substrates.

Retrospective analysis on prospectively collected data.The aim of this study was to construct a clinical prediction model for 90-day mortality in elderly patients with traumatic spine injuries.Spine trauma in the elderly population is increasing. Comparing elderly spine trauma patients to younger patients with similar injuries proves challenging due to the extensive comorbidities and frailty found in the elderly. There is a paucity of evidence to predict survival of elderly patients following traumatic spinal injuries.All patients 65+ with spine trauma presenting to a level I trauma center from 2010 to 2019 were reviewed from a prospectively maintained trauma registry. Retrospective chart review was performed to record injury, frailty scores, comorbidities, presence of spinal cord injury, imaging evidence of sarcopenia and osteopenia, mortality, and complications. We preselected 13 variables for our multivariable logistic regression model: hypotension on admission, gender, marital status, age, max Abbreviated Injury Scale, Modified Frailty Index, surgical treatment, hematocrit, white blood count, spinal cord injury, closed head injury, injury level and presence of high energy mechanism. The performance of the prediction model was evaluated using a concordance index and calibration plot. The model was internally validated via bootstrap approach.Over the 9-year period, 1746 patients met inclusion criteria; 359 (20.6%) patients died within 90 days after presenting with spine trauma. The most important predictors for 90-day mortality were age, hypotension, closed head injury, max Abbreviated Injury Scale and hematocrit. There was an optimism-corrected C-index of 0.77. A calculator was created to predict a personalized mortality risk.The incidence of spine trauma in elderly patients continues to increase. Previous publications described preexisting conditions that imply increased mortality, but ours is the first to develop a predictive calculator. Prospective research is planned to externally validate this model to better determine its predictive value and utility in the clinical setting.

Background Accurate assessment of regional lymph node basins is critical for oncological management of breast cancer. The internal mammary lymph node (IMLN) basin directly drains the medial pole of the breast, but biopsy is not commonly performed. While the axillary sentinel lymph node sample remains the standard of care, the majority of patients who have been found to have a positive IMLN biopsy have simultaneously had negative axillary sentinel lymph nodes. This study prospectively examines routine IMLN biopsy during microsurgical breast reconstruction. Methods An IRB-approved study of routine IMLN biopsies in 270 consecutive patients who underwent microsurgical breast reconstruction was performed from July 1, 2018, to June 1, 2021. Recorded data included unilateral or bilateral breast reconstruction, unilateral or bilateral IMLN sampling, patient demographics, disease stage, and pathologic findings of IMLN. Results The majority of patients, 240 of 270 patients (88.9%), had bilateral reconstruction. Overall, 5 out of 270 (1.9%) patients had positive IMLN; one of these patients had positive axillary sentinel lymph nodes. The IMLN biopsy results in two of the five patients affected the clinical course as they were upstaged and required chemoradiation. Conclusion Direct visualization of the internal mammary lymph nodes during dissection of the recipient vessels for microsurgical breast reconstruction allows for convenient sampling, with minimal donor site morbidity and enhances the therapeutic management of patients in whom nodal involvement is present. As such, the authors recommend IMLN sampling.

This article proposes a conceptual mapping to outline salient properties and relations that allow for a knowledge transfer from the well-established greenwashing phenomenon to the more recent machinewashing. We account for relevant dissimilarities, indicating where conceptual boundaries may be drawn. Guided by a “reasoning by analogy” approach, the article addresses the structural analogy and machinewashing idiosyncrasies leading to a novel and theoretically informed model of machinewashing. Consequently, machinewashing is defined as a strategy that organizations adopt to engage in misleading behavior (communication and/or action) about ethical Artificial Intelligence (AI)/algorithmic systems. Machinewashing involves misleading information about ethical AI communicated or omitted via words, visuals, or the underlying algorithm of AI itself. Furthermore, and going beyond greenwashing, machinewashing may be used for symbolic actions such as (covert) lobbying and prevention of stricter regulation. By outlining diverse theoretical foundations of the established greenwashing domain and their relation to specific research questions, the article proposes a machinewashing model and a set of theory-related research questions on the macro, meso, and micro-level for future machinewashing research. We conclude by stressing limitations and by outlining practical implications for organizations and policymakers.

Nodal peripheral T-cell lymphomas (PTCL), the most common PTCLs, are generally treated with CHOP (cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, prednisone)-based curative-intent chemotherapy. Recent molecular data have assisted in prognosticating these PTCLs, but most reports lack detailed baseline clinical characteristics and treatment courses. We retrospectively evaluated cases of PTCL treated with CHOP-based chemotherapy that had tumors sequenced by the Memorial Sloan Kettering Integrated Mutational Profiling of Actionable Cancer Targets (MSK-IMPACT) next-generation sequencing (NGS) panel to identify variables correlating with inferior survival. We identified 132 patients who met these criteria. Clinical factors correlating with increased risk of progression (by multivariate analysis) were advanced-stage disease (HR, 5.1; 95% CI, 1.1-22.5, P=.03) and bone marrow involvement (HR, 3.0; 95% CI, 1.1-8.4; P=.04). The only somatic genetic aberrancies correlating with inferior progression-free survival (PFS) were TP53 mutations (HR, 3.1; 95% CI, 1.4-6.8; P=.005) and TP53/17p deletions (HR, 4.1; 95% CI, 1.1-15.0, P=.03). PFS remained inferior when stratifying by TP53 mutation status, with a median PFS of 4.5 months (95% CI, 3.8-13.9) for PTCL with a TP53 mutation (n=21) vs 10.5 months (95% CI, 7.8-18.1; P

Purpose: Salivary duct carcinoma (SDC) is an aggressive salivary malignancy, which is resistant to chemotherapy and has high mortality rates. We investigated the molecular landscape of SDC, focusing on genetic alterations and gene expression profiles.Experimental Design: We performed whole-exome sequencing, RNA sequencing, and immunohistochemical analyses in 16 SDC tumors and examined selected alterations via targeted sequencing of 410 genes in a second cohort of 15 SDCs.Results: SDCs harbored a higher mutational burden than many other salivary carcinomas (1.7 mutations/Mb). The most frequent genetic alterations were mutations in TP53 (55%), HRAS (23%), PIK3CA (23%), and amplification of ERBB2 (35%). Most (74%) tumors had alterations in either MAPK (BRAF/HRAS/NF1) genes or ERBB2. Potentially targetable alterations based on supportive clinical evidence were present in 61% of tumors. Androgen receptor (AR) was overexpressed in 75%; several potential resistance mechanisms to androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) were identified, including the AR-V7 splice variant (present in 50%, often at low ratios compared with full-length AR) and FOXA1 mutations (10%). Consensus clustering and pathway analyses in transcriptome data revealed striking similarities between SDC and molecular apocrine breast cancer.Conclusions: This study illuminates the landscape of genetic alterations and gene expression programs in SDC, identifying numerous molecular targets and potential determinants of response to AR antagonism. This has relevance for emerging clinical studies of ADT and other targeted therapies in SDC. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) have emerged as promising diagnostic and therapeutic candidates in many biomedical applications. However, EV research continues to rely heavily on in vitro cell cultures for EV production, where the exogenous EVs present in fetal bovine (FBS) or other required serum supplementation can be difficult to remove entirely. Despite this and other potential applications involving EV mixtures, there are currently no rapid, robust, inexpensive, and label-free methods for determining the relative concentrations of different EV subpopulations within a sample. In this study, we demonstrate that surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) can biochemically fingerprint fetal bovine serum-derived and bioreactor-produced EVs, and after applying a novel manifold learning technique to the acquired spectra, enables the quantitative detection of the relative amounts of different EV populations within an unknown sample. We first developed this method using known ratios of Rhodamine B to Rhodamine 6G, then using known ratios of FBS EVs to breast cancer EVs from a bioreactor culture. In addition to quantifying EV mixtures, the proposed deep learning architecture provides some knowledge discovery capabilities which we demonstrate by applying it to dynamic Raman spectra of a chemical milling process. This label-free characterization and analytical approach should translate well to other EV SERS applications, such as monitoring the integrity of semipermeable membranes within EV bioreactors, ensuring the quality or potency of diagnostic or therapeutic EVs, determining relative amounts of EVs produced in complex co-culture systems, as well as many Raman spectroscopy applications.

Introduction: Acute lung injury (ALI) initiates an inflammatory cascade that impairs gas exchange, induces hypoxemia, and causes an increase in respiratory rate (fR). This stimulates the carotid body (CB) chemoreflex, a fundamental protective reflex that maintains oxygen homeostasis. Our previous study indicated that the chemoreflex is sensitized during the recovery from ALI. The superior cervical ganglion (SCG) is known to innervate the CB, and its electrical stimulation has been shown to significantly sensitize the chemoreflex in hypertensive and normotensive rats. We hypothesized that the SCG is involved in the chemoreflex sensitization post-ALI.Methods: We performed a bilateral SCG ganglionectomy (SCGx) or sham-SCGx (Sx) in male Sprague Dawley rats 2 weeks before inducing ALI (Week −2 i.e., W-2). ALI was induced using a single intra-tracheal instillation of bleomycin (bleo) (day 1). Resting-fR, Vt (Tidal Volume), and V̇ E (Minute Ventilation) were measured. The chemoreflex response to hypoxia (10% O2, 0% CO2) and normoxic-hypercapnia (21% O2, 5% CO2) were measured before surgery on W (−3), before bleo administration on W0 and on W4 post-bleo using whole-body plethysmography (WBP).Results: SCGx did not affect resting fR, Vt and V̇E as well as the chemoreflex responses to hypoxia and normoxic hypercapnia in either group prior to bleo. There was no significant difference in ALI-induced increase in resting fR between Sx and SCGx rats at W1 post-bleo. At W4 post-bleo, there were no significant differences in resting fR, Vt, and V̇E between Sx and SCGx rats. Consistent with our previous study, we observed a sensitized chemoreflex (delta fR) in response to hypoxia and normoxic hypercapnia in Sx rats at W4 post-bleo. However, at the same time, compared to Sx rats, the chemoreflex sensitivity was significantly less in SCGx rats in response to either hypoxia or normoxic hypercapnia.Discussion: These data suggest that SCG is involved in the chemoreflex sensitization during ALI recovery. Further understanding of the underlying mechanism will provide important information for the long-term goal of developing novel targeted therapeutic approaches to pulmonary diseases to improve clinical outcomes.

PurposeThe local food tourism in Pakistan is increasing rapidly, and it attracts scholars to determine the factors affecting local food tourists' buying choices. Particularly, the authors aim to investigate the role of food consumption values on predicting domestic tourists' attitude toward local food and its effect on the intention to try local food with the moderating effect of personality traits (neophobia and neophilia).Design/methodology/approachThe authors tested the study model on 250 completed responses from local food tourists. They collected the data from three tourism locations (Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Peshawar) in Pakistan. Their study utilizes the consumption value theory within the limits of Pakistan's local food tourism.FindingsThe empirical findings show that consumption values, such as price, emotion, interaction, epistemic value, location value and variety value, effectively explain the domestic tourists' attitude toward local food. The authors further report that food neophilia strengthens the local tourists' positive reception toward the local food. However, food neophobia weakens the direction between local tourists' attitude toward local food and the intention to try local food.Practical implicationsThis study provides insights pertaining to tourists' local food consumption values (LFCVs) to a local destination owner and marketing manager to strategically work on LFCVs that are crucial for domestic tourists to derive their intention to try local food. Practitioners should work on domestic tourists who possess food neophobia trait and enquire them for their rejection or avoidance of a particular local destination. This will enable practitioners to bring innovation and development in the local destination, which ultimately promote local food tourism.Originality/valueThis study is the first to incorporate the variety and local value in tourists' LFCVs to predict local tourists' attitude toward local food. Additionally, the authors contribute to local food tourism by empirically studying the moderating role of personality traits (food neophilia and food neophobia) to examine the direction between local tourists' attitude and intention to local food.
