For each area, practical strategies are provided to decrease ableism and promote inclusivity. In order to solve the problem of data insecurity in the current smart grid asset monitoring and management platform, the author proposes a research on smart grid asset management using digital twin technology and machine learning algorithms. This study achieves data security performance verification and monitoring through the application of data consensus mechanism. When verifying data in data nodes, data regulation verification information can be published in the form of a set of data packets to the data chain. The best node in the node is used as the data packet in the blockchain to build a platform structure. Management is achieved through data encryption, data monitoring, and device status classification. The experimental results show that the data theft rate simulated using this method has been reduced by 25.48%, and the security performance of the scheme is higher. The use of digital twin technology and machine learning algorithms for smart grid asset management has improved the security issues existing in traditional solutions and has enormous potential for application. Digital asset management systems (DAMS) handle different media data in a compressed and encrypted form. It is essential to watermark these compressed encrypted media items in the compressed-encrypted domain itself for tamper detection or ownership declaration or copyright management purposes. Attempting steganography technique is such a randomized bit stream can cause a poor degradation of the media quality. Thus it is important to choose an encryption scheme that is both secure and will allow watermarking in a predictable manner in the compressed encrypted domain. we propose a rainbow algorithm to watermark images and documents. We suggest using a stream cipher as the encryption algorithm. Although the suggested method embeds the watermark in the compressed-encrypted domain, the decrypted domain can be used to extract the watermark. Using the following watermarking schemes, we thoroughly examine the suggested algorithm's embedding capability, robustness, perceptual quality, and security: Spread Spectrum (SS), Scalar Costa Scheme Quantization Index Modulation (SCS-QIM), and Rational Dither Modulation (RDM). Ports worldwide seek for more efficient and sustainable operations, relying on critical and valuable assets as their cranes. Internet of Things (IoT) technologies enable a better understanding of critical assets' behaviour and lifecycle based on data, and development of asset management decision support tools. The Asset Health Index (AHI) is an asset condition score, designed to characterise the state of complex assets. This paper describes the process of developing a data-driven AHI. IoT sensors and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) in real operation time, together with information systems, and other more traditional sources of data are some of the data sources for the AHI. The index captures and quantifies dimensions affecting the asset lifecycle, allowing the comparison of the condition of assets and prioritise maintenance investments. Traditional asset management of lighting systems typically focuses on functionality, cost, and lifespan. In contrast, a human-centric approach prioritizes social sustainability and user well-being by ensuring lighting assets “provide the right light at the right time” for diverse activities. Light-emitting diode (LED) bulbs, known for energy efficiency and longevity, have become a preferred choice, yet public libraries often struggle to manage these assets sustainably, remaining in a reactive “fix/replace when it breaks” stage. Current predictive methods, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, rely on laboratory data that often overlook real-world contexts, leading to performance gaps. This paper presents a context-driven, human-centric methodology for LED prognosis and maintenance strategies in public libraries, employing limited degradation data from LED testing. Advanced analytical techniques, including Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) and Deviance Information Criterion (DIC), support a shift from function-based to performance-based reliability assessment. By incorporating Mean Time of Exposure (MTOE) and Critical Integrated Levels (CILs), the approach defines optimal maintenance inspection intervals. In 2017, Venezuelans facing one of the most extensive bouts of hyperinflation sought work outside the typical bounds, turning to massively multiplayer online role-playing games as a source of income capable of far exceeding their minimum wage. Transferring the resources made in-game for real-world value; the Venezuelans created a digital asset market. These digital game assets are not dissimilar to the new emerging forms of digital assets, such as crypto-currencies and non-fungible tokens, currently constituting unprecedented challenges and opportunities in the financial and technological landscape. However, lacking urgency, legislation addressing the unique characteristics, risks, and implications of these assets has been ignored, resulting in the U.S. courts relying on traditional intellectual property and contract law to mitigate risks. The operation and maintenance (O&M) period is a critical and resource-intensive phase of the life cycle of railway line infrastructure. The O&M of a railway line during this period requires a large amount of investment and labor. Thus, there is an urgent need for railway managers to seek more efficient management tools and methods to improve management efficiency and reduce maintenance costs. Infrastructure–building information model (I-BIM) technology, characterized by its intuitive representation and high information-integration capabilities, has gained considerable traction with infrastructure industry researchers. In the context of existing railway lines, the absence of corresponding I-BIMs or similar technology owing to the immaturity of technical development at the time led to the use of manual modeling processes, which have limitations such as high cost, slow speed, and low efficiency. This paper presents an innovative, high-speed, semiautomated method for generating I-BIMs for existing railway lines and leveraging asset management data without incurring additional data collection costs. This approach leverages key modules such as line trajectory computation, element model generation, the linking of O&M semantic information, and the visualization of asset health indexes, which can enable the swift and semiautomated creation of an O&M-oriented I-BIM for railway lines. This process elevates traditional two-dimensional database tables into more intuitive, operation-oriented, and semantically rich models. This results in the provision of more efficient support for maintenance management decisions related to railway lines. The proposed method addresses the limitations of manual modeling processes and can pave the way for enhanced O&M efficiency in the railway infrastructure sector. Practical Applications: The absence of BIMs during the design and construction phase of existing railway lines, coupled with the high costs and error rates associated with manual modeling, constitute substantial barriers to the implementation of BIMs in operation and management. By leveraging the proposed semiautomated modeling approach, which relies on management data, site managers and researchers can rapidly establish basic I-BIMs. Although the asset ledgers and station equipment plans used in this approach originate from National Railway Administration, similar data sets should serve as fundamental inputs for railway line operation and maintenance worldwide. By deploying this method, field managers can enhance traditional two-dimensional (2D) asset ledgers into a three-dimensional (3D) I-BIM, thereby offering a more intuitive understanding of the assets within their jurisdiction. Owing to the integration of geographic information system maps into the model, personnel can directly query asset-related geographic information, potentially reducing the frequency and cost of off-site surveys. For researchers, using this method to establish a real-world model rapidly offers convenient access for further BIM-based applications, such as the integration of real-time data from on-site sensors to formulate digital twins. In the present world, several industries, including in the robotics sector, have been undergoing dramatic technological change. For this reason, analyzing this industry's digital and technological assets by focusing on information management practices is a big deal. Considering this theme, the current research focuses on the role of strategic dynamics, constraints, and resources in determining information management practices regarding information accessibility and information quality. The study develops a structured questionnaire using past literature on Strategic Dynamics, Constraints, Resources, and Information Management Practices. A sample of 411 respondents participated in this study. Data was collected through a questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics in the first step, followed by testing the measurement model with the help of reliability and discriminant validity. The results reveal that the latent variables, such as Strategic Dynamics, Constraints, Resources, and Information Management Practices, are well-measured using proxies from past literature. The findings through the structural equation modeling technique show that constraints have their significant impact on Information Quality. Moreover, organizational resources tend to boost Information Management Practices regarding Information Accessibility and Information Quality. Asset management is a process that deals with numerous types of data, including spatial and temporal data. Such an occurrence is attributed to the proliferation of information sources. However, the lack of a comprehensive asset data model that encompasses the management of both spatial and temporal data remains a challenge. Therefore, this paper proposes a graph-based spatio-temporal data model to integrate spatial and temporal information into asset management. In the spatial layer, we provide a graph-based method that uses topological containment and connectivity relationships to model the interior building space using data from 3D city models. In the temporal layer, we proposed the Aggregated Directly-Follows Multigraph (ADFM), a novel process model based on a directly-follows graph (DFG), to show the chronological flow of events in asset management by taking into consideration the repetitive nature of events in asset management. The integration of both layers allows spatial, temporal, and spatio-temporal queries to be made regarding information about events in asset management. This method offers a more straightforward query, which helps to eliminate duplicate and false query results when assessed and compared with a flattened graph event log. Finally, this paper provides information for the management of 3D spaces using a NoSQL graph database and the management of events and their temporal information through graph modelling. Object-based modeling has become an integral and more preferred design approach as against two-dimensional (2D) design representation. This is evident in the increased use of building information modeling (BIM) for building design and city information modeling (CIM) for city planning and development. However, the development and management of object-based city models are often siloed and do not coexist in a virtual environment. Urban infrastructure is often designed in isolation, yet it forms part of an integrated network of assets in real life. Blockchain is one of several technologies that has been integrated with BIM because of its transparent and tamper-proof features. This research proposes a framework for the lifecycle management of buildings and other urban assets by integrating blockchain technology (BCT) into a heterogenous CIM of multiowned assets using a nested, multilevel data environment. First, the BIM is synchronized into a GIS scene for geospecificity, then the BIM metadata is written onto a blockchain protocol distributing the model information across a network of project collaborators using a common data environment (CDE). The resultant CIM is then shared through an outer layered city level CDE. Use case scenarios are presented to validate the functionality of the proposed approach, and research limitations are discussed. The framework enables the critical interproject or interasset communication which is otherwise impossible in traditional approaches where individual assets are designed as stand-alone models. Practical Applications: Nowadays, nearly every physical product pre-exists in digital form for purposes of design, testing, and optimizing the product before its creation. This research argues that the city can also exist in digital form beyond a mere representation of its geometry, but encompassing the intangible information flow that exists between physical assets in real cities. This study proposes using City Information Modeling (CIM) that is enabled through blockchain technology (BCT) to record all activities concerning physical assets throughout their lifecycle. This is achieved by harnessing the various digital models that predate the physical components of the city from their design stages. These records of activities are retrievable and easily visualized interactively. Such CIM models are useful to trace the origins of building parts for accurate asset valuation or to review the maintenance services carried out on an asset and its impact on the constituent parts. It also provides a real template to commence new design projects whereby existing surrounding features, which are only possible through a site visit, can now be considered. Smart contracts play an essential role in the handling and management of digital assets, where vulnerabilities can lead to severe security issues and financial losses. Current detection techniques are largely limited to identifying single vulnerabilities and lack comprehensive identification capabilities for multiple vulnerabilities that may coexist in smart contracts. To address this challenge, we propose a novel multi-label vulnerability detection model that integrates extractive summarization methods with deep learning, referred to as Ext-ttg. The model begins by preprocessing the data using an extractive summarization approach, followed by the deployment of a custom-built deep learning model to detect vulnerabilities in smart contracts. Experimental results demonstrate that our method achieves commendable performance across various metrics, establishing the effectiveness of the proposed approach in the multi-vulnerability detection tasks within smart contracts. Many studies and technology companies highlight the actual or potential value of Digital Twins, but they often fail to demonstrate this value or how it can be realised. This gap constitutes a barrier for infrastructure asset management organisations in their attempt to innovate and incorporate digital twinning opportunities in their decision-making processes and their asset management planning activities. Asset management planning activities often make use of existing value-based decision-support tools to select and prioritise investments in physical assets. However, these tools were not originally designed to consider digital twinning investments that also compete for funding. This paper addresses this gap and proposes a value-based analysis for digital twinning opportunities in infrastructure asset management. The proposed analysis method is tested with three rail and road infrastructure case studies: (i) real-time monitoring of a power transformer; (ii) BIM for the design, construction, and maintenance of a new railway line; and (iii) infrastructure displacement monitoring using satellite data (InSAR). The study shows that the proposed method provides a conceptual construct and a common language that facilitates the communication of digital twinning opportunities in terms of their relevance in different contexts. The proposed method can be used to support the investment decision-making process for investments in both physical and non-physical assets and help derive maximum value from the limited available resources. The sudden collapse of a school roof in the UK brought widespread attention to the structural integrity of buildings constructed with reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC), a material widely used from the 1950s to the mid-1990s. RAAC, known for its lightweight and insulating properties, has been found to suffer from weak compressive strength, poor reinforcement anchorage, and high susceptibility to environmental degradation. The structural profiles of RAAC panels in the UK are unique, particularly in their reinforcement configurations and failure modes, which limits the applicability of the existing literature from other regions. This paper conducts a state-of-the-art review, identifying a significant gap in current research due to the unique challenges posed by RAAC in the UK, and highlights the need for novel methodologies. In response to this gap, the paper introduces a multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) framework utilising the decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) method to assess the interdependencies of RAAC defects. This methodology quantifies the influence of observed defects and guides the selection of appropriate remediation strategies, offering a more structured and objective approach to RAAC panel assessment and retrofitting. Practically, this study aligns with ongoing research efforts towards the digitalisation of RAAC management by integrating the MCDA model within digital asset management systems. This integration supports a holistic approach to addressing the RAAC crisis, enhancing current efforts to digitalise the surveying and management processes and ensuring safer long-term solutions. This research explores the potential of Digital Asset Management (DAM) to enhance asset management practices through the utilization of facility data. The study specifically investigates the integration of metadata sourced from 2,340 facility-related issues reported at a public school in Saudi Arabia. Data spanning a two-year period was extracted from the school’s system and subjected to quantitative data analysis to assess the frequency and significance of reported facility issues. This analysis, conducted on data extracted from the school’s system in .xls format, aimed to identify patterns and trends in problem types, severity, and reported frequency, offering insights into prevalent challenges encountered in asset management and informing the research objectives. Furthermore, a thorough review of existing literature on digital asset management and metadata integration in Asset Information Modeling (AIM) was conducted. This review involved creating a mind map to organize and visualize key concepts, themes, and relationships identified in the literature. Insights derived from the mind map and broader literature review served as the groundwork for comprehending current practices, challenges, and potential solutions in DAM and AIM. The study aims to identify and evaluate key challenges in asset management based on the analysed facility data, devise a strategic framework for integrating metadata into AIM analysis, with a focus on effective metadata management practices, and design an advanced Digital Asset Management system to integrate facility data and enhance decision-making in asset and facility management. Notably, the research proposes a strategic framework for metadata integration in AIM analysis, highlighting effective metadata management practices such as defining metadata requirements, establishing standards, and optimizing capture, storage, and governance practices. The framework also advocates for leveraging metadata for continuous analysis and improvement. Anticipated outcomes encompass improved decision-making in asset and facility management, leading to heightened operational efficiency and effectiveness. This type of research is quantitative descriptive with the research population, namely 5 cryptocurrency coins with the largest market caps in Indonesia, namely Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin in Indonesia. The type of data in this study is time series data taken from January 2017 to December 2020 by conducting a documentation study conducted on the publication of monthly cryptocurrency transaction reports, so that the target population is 240 (4 years x 12 months x 5 coins) monthly report data. for the research sample. The data analysis method in this study uses Moderate Regression Analysis (MRA) model regression and data analysis using e-views statistical software. Cryptocurrency is an investment commodity that can generate returns and already has a license to be traded in exchange trading through the Indonesian Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency. There are quite a lot of crypto digital assets traded in Indonesia through the trading company Indodax. The results of data analysis in the study show that the world gold price variable has a positive but not significant effect on cryptocurrency returns so that it can be justified as a positive risk assessment model. The development of modern digital economies requires trusted digital asset management (DAM), for which blockchain technology is increasingly being adopted. However, the current architecture for constructing blockchain-based DAM systems (BDAMSs) is inadequate. Existing BDAMSs adopt a modified layered architecture, which enriches the database layer by adding a blockchain platform that acts as a third party to process DAM business logic with pre-written smart contracts. This architecture faces four issues that make it non-credible and non-customizable to DAM demands: 1) pseudo decentralization, 2) not asset-oriented, 3) contract dependency, and 4) high load of chains. To overcome these issues, we propose the One-Network-Multi-Chain Architecture (ONMCA), which allows multiple heterogeneous chains to be established within a same network. ONMCA enables diverse digital assets to be managed in a customizable way through the following features: 1) asset stakeholders are allowed to join the blockchain network, eliminating third parties; 2) transactions are designed to portray the changes in asset states, making the system asset-oriented; and 3) a control layer is added to take over business logic, and smart contracts are forced to regulate asset transactions full-time. This article aims to explore the legal nuances and criminological implications of inheriting digital currency, highlighting the inadequacies and potential risks involved in the current legal framework. Employing induction and deduction, the study distinguishes between traditional, electronic, and digital currencies, analyzing their classifications and legal considerations. The findings indicate a lack of comprehensive legal recognition and regulation concerning the inheritance of digital currencies in Kazakhstan and globally, identifying only two legally non-contradictory methods of inheritance: by law or will, with a closed will deemed safer yet simpler. This research underscores the necessity for legislative refinement to mitigate risks and ambiguities in digital currency inheritance, offering criminological insights into the prevention of fraud and misuse in the digital inheritance process. Its practical significance lies in providing a critical analysis beneficial for Kazakhstani citizens in navigating digital currency inheritance and urging legislative bodies towards enhancing the legal framework governing digital assets. How librarians and archivists communicate the value of a major project, like making institutional archives discoverable online, to all community stakeholders can be challenging when they are not receptive to the change or don't see the project'sproposed value. This column is a first-hand account of the challenges associated with communicating the results of a lengthy and complicated project that has high perceived value by librarians and archivists to community stakeholders with minimal understanding of a this project's limitations and scope. In this column, we will summarize lessons learned from an 11-month-long archival digitization and discoverability project that saved institutional artifacts from further decay. The project frustrated stakeholders who couldn't search for most of the digitized artifacts due to the lack of metadata which prevented easy searching and locating items they were looking for. Digital platforms have replaced traditional markets in most industries and orchestrate socioeconomic aspects of our lives. We address the problem of negative direct side network effects that arise with an increased number of agents on one side of the platform. Negative effects, if unaddressed, lead to undesired long-term consequences for the platform by developing a positive vicious cycle. Addressing negative effects require dynamic solution mechanisms that adapt to the changing landscape of platforms. The recommender systems literature has proposed multi-sided recommender systems (MSR) as a dynamic solution to many problems on platforms. However, current state-of-the-art MSRs do not consider uncertainty in predicting agents' choices, resulting in limited efficacy. We present a robust multi-sided recommender system that considers estimation errors in agents' choice to address this concern. Extensive experiments with agent-based models—ride-pooling and education platform—provide support for the efficacy and generalizability of the robust MSR to address negative effects. In order to solve the problem of smart grid data asset registration, this paper proposes a smart grid data asset registration system based on blockchain. The system uses the decentralization and immutable characteristics of blockchain to achieve the digital management of devices and assets in the smart grid, and uses smart contracts to encrypt and authenticate the data to ensure that the data is real and reliable. At the same time, the system can incorporate data asset registration into the scope of smart grid management, forming a complete data asset management system. In this paper, the blockchain technology is briefly introduced, and then the framework of smart grid data asset registration system based on blockchain is proposed, and its feasibility is analyzed. This study provides a four-good general equilibrium framework with international trade for assessing the impact of the advancement of automation and artificial intelligence (A&AI) on the welfare of a group of agents who are excluded from both owning productive assets, such as capital and land, as well as consuming digital output (digital exclusion). We show that, depending on the magnitude of the factor intensities, the accumulation of A&AI capital may negatively affect the income of the excluded group, who provide unskilled labor, or the owners of land. In doing so, we bring out the conflict of interests that may arise between the owners of A&AI capital and other groups within society, which has implications for the pressure that exists to slow down the adoption of A&AI in an economy. A number of financial bubbles have occurred throughout history. The objective of this study was to identify the main similarities between Bitcoin price behavior during bubble periods and a number of historical bubbles. Once this had been carried out, we aimed to determine whether the solutions adopted in the past would be effective in the present to reduce investors' risk in this digital asset. This study brings a new approach, as studies have previously been conducted analyzing the similarity of Bitcoin bubbles to other bubbles individually, but these were not conducted in such a broad manner, addressing different types of bubbles, and over such a broad time period. Starting from a dataset with 9967 records, a combined methodology was used. This consisted of an analysis of the standard deviations, the growth rates of the prices of the assets involved, the percentage increase in asset prices from the origin of the bubble to its peak and its fundamental value, and, finally, the bubble index. Lastly, correlation statistical analysis was performed. The results obtained from the combination of the above methods reveal the existence of certain similarities between the Bitcoin bubbles (2011, 2013, 2017, and 2021) and the tulip bubble (1634–1637) and the Mississippi bubble (1719–1720). We find that the vast majority of the measures taken to avoid past bubbles will not be effective now; this is due to the digital and decentralized nature of Bitcoin. A limitation of the study is the difficulty in making a comparison between bubbles that occurred at different historical points in time. The advent of digital twins facilitates the generation of high-fidelity replicas of actual systems or assets, thereby enhancing the design's performance and feasibility. When developing digital twins, precise measurement data is essential to ensure alignment between the actual and digital models. However, inherent uncertainties in sensors and models lead to disparities between observed and predicted (simulated) behaviors. To mitigate these uncertainties, this study originally proposes a multi-objective optimization strategy utilizing a Gaussian process regression surrogate model, which integrates various uncertain parameters, such as load angle, bucket cylinder stroke, arm cylinder stroke, and boom cylinder stroke. This optimization employs a genetic algorithm to indicate the Pareto frontiers regarding the pressure exerted on the boom, arm, and bucket cylinders. Subsequently, TOPSIS is applied to ascertain the optimal candidate among the identified Pareto optima. The findings reveal a substantial congruence between the experimental and numerical outcomes of the devised virtual model, in conjunction with the TOPSIS-derived optimal parameter configuration. Many people own online accounts, with some having financial values like Internet banking, e-wallet and cryptocurrency. In the case of sudden death, their heirs are unaware of the digital assets possessed by the deceased person, which causes the assets to be lost forever, and the heirs might not receive the assets. If an estate plan did not account for digital assets properly, the beneficiaries would not be able to access them. Therefore, this paper addresses this issue by implementing a software development approach in designing a suitable model for sustaining digital assets through smartphones to allow the inheritance of digital assets to the heirs. The software development life cycle was adopted as the methodology to identify the model's components through four phases: requirements analysis, system design, implementation and test and evaluation. First, this work proposed a model named Mobile Estate Planning for Digital Assets (MEPDA). Second, the study demonstrated the component of the model in a smartphone application, and finally, it was tested and evaluated through a usability study with a group of users. Most users suggested that MEPDA is useful and easy to use. Further, they were also satisfied with its functionalities and features. Mobile application for digital asset estate planning is necessary today due to the exponential increase of digital asset ownership with financial values. As we approach the first quarter mark of the twenty-first century, we have seen the expansion of the definition of a protected investment in investment treaties. While many investment treaties were signed at a time when only physical investments were contemplated, as our modern technological industrialists continue to rapidly push innovation forward and write the code for new digital assets, our understanding of what a protected investment is may also be innovated. Yet, the definition of a digital asset and whether it can be considered a protected investment under an investment treaty remain difficult questions. This article seeks to contribute to an ongoing debate about the meaning and scope of protected investments under investment treaties and in particular whether an entirely intangible digital asset can exist within the territory of a host State. For over four decades, a rich body of information systems (IS) sourcing research has examined topics concerning sourcing decisions, governing relationships and performance in various contexts (e.g., outsourcing, multisourcing and offshoring). The last few years have witnessed a significant change in some of the key assumptions in this literature. Organizations and their sourcing practices have been undergoing significant shifts in the digital era, involving not only human but also technology agency (e.g., artificial intelligence), malleable digital assets that can be flexibly recombined (e.g., in platform ecosystems and low-code development), and digital technology that attenuates bounded rationality (e.g., generative artificial intelligence). Such fundamental changes call for the re-examination of such past assumptions in the IS sourcing literature. In this editorial, we discuss the implications of these agential, semiotic, infrastructural, combinatorial, and economic shifts for digital sourcing, that is, research and practice of IS sourcing in the digital era. The capacity to deal with digital transformation is a valuable asset for established organizations, and employees play a crucial role in this process. This study contributes to the understanding of employees' sensemaking of digital transformation in the tour operating industry. Using prior digital transformation research, construal-level theory (CLT), and dynamic change perspectives, our scholarly work focuses on the complexities of organizational change in a digital transformation context. Although employees generally support digital transformation, our findings show that their perceptions change over time across a range of specific challenges experienced during the employee change journey. Our findings stress the importance of adopting a social exchange lens in digital transformation knowledge as this represents deep structure change that might cause well-designed transformation processes to fail.
