At the beginning of 2003, Bibliosalut was inaugurated in the Balearic Islands, becoming one of the first autonomous virtual libraries in the field of health sciences created in Spain during the first decade of the 21st century. After more than fifteen years, the evolution of the autonomous model of library management configured in that region has been analysed. It has developed from the coordination of 9 libraries, mostly hospitals, to the management of a virtual and unique scientific library for all the professionals of the public health system of the Balearic Islands. An extraordinary change for these health professionals, and even more so in an archipelago, which has meant the democratization of access to relevant scientific information. The virtual library is today an essential tool for health care, education and research. A potential panorama for the “twenties” is also envisioned, as being full of opportunities, mainly revolving around the open science and information and communications technology, where the need for us to reinvent ourselves as professionals of information and documentation, and thus create new resources and services to meet the new needs of the health professionals, will be critical. Finally, the importance of continuing to invest in interlibrary cooperation, and especially with other regional virtual libraries, needs to be firmly emphasized.

The objective of this work is to analyze the characteristics of RUNA, the institutional repository of the Public Health System of Galicia. RUNA is considered as a unique information point, which brings together intellectual, educational and administrative production as well as certain clinical documentation generated by the professionals of the Galician health system.

To better manage and search the biomedical literature, the US National Library of Medicine developed the Medical Subject Heading (MeSH) controlled vocabulary. Thematic classification based on controlled vocabularies has been identified as a principal factor in document search and retrieval strategies. Unfortunately, given its specialized and manual nature, assigning MeSH terms to biomedical articles is a very complex, subjective, and time-consuming task, so Automated Keyword Extraction (AKE) systems are emerging as obvious solutions for its incorporation into systems that need to describe and manage thousands of documents, such as repositories. The study shows the solution incorporated into RUNA, the institutional repository of the Public Health System of Galicia, in order to facilitate the subject classification on thematic vocabularies (MeSH-DeCS). It specifically describes the system for the automatic extraction of document terms and how the solution has been integrated into the archive workflow in the repository in order to enable it to be complemented by expert cataloguers and therefore improve the quality of the thematic description carried out.

The use of reliable data from scientific literature through models close to evidence-based clinical practice are basic to foreseeing the consequences of clinical decisions in contexts of uncertainty. To take informed decisions it is needed to have the ability to to recover, analyze and critically judge the quality of sou rces and evaluate the levels of scientific evidence for later application. This process can be either endangered or enhanced by several factors. The aims of this paper are to analyze the key aspects in which librarians influence the integration of scientific evidence in clinical practice and to discusse on the role that health libraries should have. A literature review was conducted using MEDLINE, Embase, CINAHL and LISA. Review articles and original research aimed to study the role of health librarians in improving the integration of scientific evidence in clinical practice have been analyzed. Works related to critical thinking, clinical decissions processes and library services have been taken into consideration as well. Several organizational and individual factors act as barriers to informed clinical decision making, as lack of time for reading and implementationof the results, lack of skills or experience in searching for information, lack of training or participation in projects of research, etc. If several interventions are combined, including active and continued training by health librarians, it can help improve the weaknessess. The evidence shows that excellence in informed clinical decision-making requires well trained health professionals to conduct a search for effective information and to evalua te critically the results. Librarians can contribute to this process and, consequently, improve patient attention through team work with health professionals. This scenario raises the need to expand the training of librarians and redefine library tasks and services to other disciplines.

Introduction and objectives Five years after the creation of Rebisalud, the Virtual Health Libraries Network (http://www.rebisalud.org), which brings together nine autonomous virtual libraries specializing in the health sciences, a first assessment of this entity’s functioning has been made. Rebisalud’s mission is to enhance library cooperation through the coordination and development of strategies and collaborative projects, with the aim of optimizing the dissemination and exchange of information in the field of health. Nowadays, one of its main objectives is to become an interlocutor in the field of knowledge management between the different organizations with health competences. Material and methods Rebisalud coordinators carried out a SWOT analysis in order to reflect on where the network was located, both internally (weaknesses and strengths) and externally (threats and opportunities), to detect applicable points of improvements. Results Among the results of the SWOT analysis, several strengths stand out such as the fact that each of the network assembly members has autonomous representation or the possibility of jointly negotiating the contracting conditions of information resources through the sales club. Also, weaknesses such as the fact that virtual libraries have different levels of development or lack quality indicators, and threats, such as the high cost of bibliographic resources or the changing face publishing market. Finally, opportunities, such as those derived from the open science and all that this entails, from development of institutional repositories to the management of research data. Conclusions New opportunities are emerging around the health sciences libraries of health sciences which can facilitate the sharing of experiences, knowledge, and problems through a cooperation network such as Rebisalud, which enriches the quality of the different autonomic library projects. It is necessary to develop specific, reliable, validated and available indicators for all virtual health sciences libraries. Rebisalud is always open to any autonomous community virtual library that wishes to become a part of this cooperation project.

A SWOT analysis on 54 health sciences libraries -related libraries from Community autonomous of Madrid (Community of Madrid) was presented at BiblioMadSalud 2016. Results revealed some internal weaknesses: lack of coordination, communication and institutional involvement with libraries, and lack of insight on them. In order to find solutions, BiblioEstructura was proposed as a work-group to develop a structure, organization and performance of health libraries to be acknowledged by Community of Madrid administration. Its main objective was to gain insight on health libraries at hospital settings. The first line of work was to review current documentation on hospital structure, organization and performance; the second line was to conduct a survey on libraries from national health system hospitals. Current regulatory documentation on internal organization of national-wide and Community of Madrid hospitals was revised. We were assessed by expert, hospital managers. Surveys were performed with phone interview on 25 health libraries, through 12 open-ended questions that answered anonymously. Legislative documentation, i.e., Royal Decree 521/1987 and Regional Law 11/2017 do not mention health libraries. Responses from phone interviews showed great heterogeneity in management of libraries. Some self-named terms was general-purpose library, medical library, health library or professional library. Also, libraries can belong to Management Board of the Health Service or share their affiliations. Although 44% of hospital have a Library Committee, sometimes they have unified commissions. Library staffs are sometimes members of other hospital committees. 72% of libraries deliver certified training and offer lectures. Research foundation is present in 19 hospitals, but just 10 are connected with it, 4 have it in their web page, and one of them mentions it in its annual report. Our current research shows how diversity of terms and affiliations, and lack of involvement in management boards allow the poor acknowledgement of health libraries within the hospitals. These circumstances call for the need for regulation that fix those drawbacks. The opportunity to build a single entity for all CAM health libraries and work-groups is the key to work in common lines that enable the achievement of a common goal.

This communication presents the Project aimed to create, implement and develop an institutional repository, called REPISALUD, within the context of a Public Biomedical Research Organization: the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ISCIII) and its Foundations, the Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Cardiovasculares (CNIC) and the Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Oncológicas (CNIO). It describes the main aspects in the implementation of the repository, suggesting future actions and developments that will lead to the consolidation of REPISALUD. The creation of REPISALUD is part of an institutional project to promote Open Access, which began after the signing by the directors of the three institutions of the Berlin Declaration in 2016. The Project is being led by the libraries or documentation units of the institutions involved. This Project is based on the need to create a unified Open Access platform for the scientific and technical publications of the ISCIII and its foundations. REPISALUD offers the advantage of uniting in a single repository the scientific production of the three institutions and, therefore, having a single Access point for all the collections. The communication describes the procedures to be followed and the most relevant aspects of the development in relation to the definition of the repository, choice of the software, the planning and implementation of the project, as well as its maincharacteristics: open content policy, interoperability and service to the researcher, etc., thus creating a fundamental tool for the preservation, dissemination and organization of the scientific productivity generated within the participating institutions. In the design of the repository, special attention has been paid to the inclusion of funding data, theen richment of information on the authors of the three institutions, through links to their identifiers (ORCID, ResearcherID and Scopus Author ID), and the policy of inclusion of all types of scientific productivity, including, in addition to the articles and contributions to conferences, training material, institutional, dissemination, research data, etc., so that the repository can become a true reflection of all scientific activity of the three institutions.

In 2012, Carlos III Health Institute, by means of the National Library of Health Sciences and in partnership with the Virtual Health Libraries of the Autonomous Communities, promoted with a public and open nature the National Union Catalogue for Publications on Health Sciences. It can be accessed freely and universally through its webpage and connects with the main ILL systems. This communication addresses the evolution and improvement of the Catalogue from its creation until the present time, its performance in Beta version and final implementation, as well as upcoming developments. In 2014, the first developments of the Catalogue were reported in the 15th National Conference on Information and Documentation in Health Sciences (http://jornadasbibliosalud.isciii.es/posteres/). From that moment on, the bibliographical information from journals and collections of the participating libraries have been steadily incorporated. In 2017, once a new improved version of the application was developed, a beta version of the Catalogue was launched and most of the collections initially uploaded were updated. In 2018, a resolution on the operation and coordination of the Catalogue was published in order to make official ISCIII’s support to this tool, it was officially launched in November of that year, the first meeting of its Technical Committee took place and it began its intensive use. Since the last report was issued in 2014, 9.287 journals and 193.093 collections corresponding to 266 libraries from every Autonomous Community have been added. The number of participating centers has also increased by 54. Moreover, a webpage and a blog have been implemented, the participating libraries receive technical and documental support suited to their needs, a connection with the GTBIB and ILL17 applications has been established, 142 new membership applications have been signed and access statistics have been elaborated. The possibility of a new version of the application, featuring technical improvements, is been evaluated as a future development. CNCS emerges as a collaborative tool of a public nature. Today, we are facing challenges that, when successfully addressed, will lead to improvements that will allow the Catalogue to consolidate and become a constantly evolving living resource, just like the 17 realities that compose it.

In the previous Kohaference meeting, the National Library of Health Sciences presented in a workshop the National Health Sciences Catalog (CNCS) when it was in Beta phase. The Catalog, of a public nature and open access, is composed of a data management layer developed in Koha and a new generation OPAC developed in Vufind. A data management interface has been developed in order to allow holdings to be updated automatically from the centers themselves, a document delivery system compatible with interlibrary loan applications and a module for requests management. CNCS was officially launched in November 2018 with the holdings of 266 libraries from every Autonomous Community. The presentation will show the evolution and progress of the catalog since its creation, Beta version and definitive launch, as well as future developments.

The Internet is the largest source of scientific information. For a few years now, the role of library resources and scientific databases has been downgraded in comparison with the immediacy and simplicity of Google’s search toolbar when it comes to retrieving scientific articles. With the emergence of the Open Access movement, and especially since funding agencies began to establish it as a mandatory requirement, there has been some lack of understanding about the concept. However, there are three main characters that will help us clarify this: “The Good”, where we find the institutional or thematic repositories and their corresponding discovery tools, which enable us to disseminate our research and to find scientific articles; “the Bad”, where we find pages like Sci-Hub; and “the Ugly”, which are the copyright agreements that we sign with the journals without knowing all the implications that they involve.

The aim of this quantitative study is to know the state of the situation of female theses, directors, co-directors and consultants in non-dental theses deposited in the Library "Prof. Dr. José Arce ", from the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Buenos Aires, with the aim of knowing what place they occupy and how they have arisen in the chronology from 1937 to 2015, to identify: in the first instance, those who have Marked an innovative process within the scientific production, secondly, to help establish transparent systems for the evaluation of such production, and finally, to analyze the election criteria with a gender perspective and to detect possible biases, which are cementing the Academic career of many women within Dentistry.

Introduction The research project as a whole examined the factors that bear on the accessibility of online published professional information within the National Health Service (NHS) in England, and the implications that these have for library and information services. The overall aim of this study was to investigate the apparent disjunction between stated policy regarding evidence-based practice and professional learning, and actual IT (information technology) strategy, service delivery and security practice at NHS trust level, from both technical and organisational perspectives. The presentation discusses the following specific issues: 1) the nature and extent of restrictions on access to websites and web applications within NHS organisations; 2) the impacts of these on professional information seeking and working practices; 3) the technical and organisational factors which bear on how web security is implemented within NHS trusts, in relation to overall organisational priorities and strategies. 2. Methods The study adopted a qualitative case study method, taking three NHS trusts of different types for its setting. The lead researcher [CE] conducted a total of 40 semi-structured interviews with library and workforce development staff, IT managers, information governance managers, and clinical professionals. Interview findings are set in the context of the trusts’ and other relevant reports, policies, strategies and standards. 3. Results Staff in the teaching hospital trust experienced the greatest number of obstacles to information seeking caused by the blocking of legitimate websites (‘false positives’). This affected the work of clinical educators in particular. Much decision-making in relation to information security issues seemed to be tacit. IT security managers reported not having the time to evaluate the effectiveness or impact of the web security devices they deploy on NHS networks. They were likely to accept the default configurations and categorisations of content offered by the suppliers. The focus of their attention appeared to be on the potential security risks posed by ‘recreational’/non-work use of the web. 4. Conclusions Little attention has been paid within the NHS information systems community to the issue of access to legitimate published information. The focus is heavily on the secure and appropriate management of clinical records and systems. Community-based staff appeared to be more likely (than their hospital-based colleagues) to be significantly disadvantaged by restrictive access control policies.

Quantitative survey of doctoral thesis titles deposited in the library "Prof. Dr. José Arce", Faculty o f Dentistry, Buenos Aires Unievrsity, 1920-2015.

Introduction: Infosalut (http://www.infosalut.com) is a new service from the Virtual Health Sciences Library of the Balearic Islands (Bibliosalut). Its aim is to spread amongst the professionals of the public health system of the Balearic Islands the information generated by the system itself, and to give visibility to the work of the organization. Infosalut started with the creation of a website to promote and give visibility to the information generated by the Public Health System of the Balearic Islands. This is divided into two major sections: news and training agenda, and also has a section that collects all the daily information about the official worldwide health days. This new website was created with Joomla content management system, with a multilingual (Spanish and Catalan) and journalistic template with a mobile version that responds to the needs of the content presentation. From there, the library team produced manuals and procedures on how to collect and manage the susceptible information to appear in Infosalut. At the same time, the Bibliosalut team designed a system to disseminate the Infosalut contents. The result was the creation of Infosalut profiles in the most important social networks and a subscription newsletter. The result is a web portal that manages the institution information, through a news section, classified into thematic categories, which are subdivided into: training, research and innovation, health management, public health, pharmacy and scholarship grants and awards. There is also, a training agenda, where we have included all the interesting activities for the public health system professionals in the Balearic Islands. However, the best result is the integration of the virtual library into the institution through a direct collaboration with users and those responsible for the different institution services, who publish their news on Infosalut. Infosalut is a broadcasting and communication channel, which uses the best technology and design available, and is extremely useful for all the workers in the Public Health System of the Balearic Islands. The work done by Bibliosalut librarians in creating and maintaining this new service demonstrates their great ability to innovate and respond to the information needs of the institution they serve, as well as the easy integration and the collaboration work with the users. In conclusion, this experience readily shows how the librarian can add value to the institution information management.

In line with the technological developments and the increasing access to the Internet, and after the health competences transfer, almost all Autonomous Communities (ACs) created virtual health sciences libraries which provide access to electronic resources and offer librarian services to the professionals of the health service. The creation of the virtual libraries has not followed common patters in all ACs and today, we can appreciate different organizational designs of the virtual libraries in health sciences in the ACs. However, all of them should offer a minimum of resources and services to ensure the equity in the access to relevant information needed for clinical decision making, which will has a direct impact on the quality of health care.

The paper focuses on health professionals’ attitudes to and use of Web 2.0 and social media within their practice and on the management of access to Web 2.0 and social media applications within NHS organisations. It discusses the following specific issues: 1) the nature and extent of restrictions on access to such applications within NHS organisations arising from organisational policies; 2) their impacts on professional information seeking and sharing, and working practices in general; 3) the attitudes, professional norms, presuppositions and practices which bear on how social media policy is implemented within NHS trusts, in relation to overall organisational strategies. There is a need to develop a better understanding of, on the one hand, a clear need for robust information governance and network security, with, on the other hand, systems and procedures that enable appropriate access to valid online resources to support professional information needs. Particular questions that need to be addressed include: Why are restrictions imposed on access to Web 2.0 or social media-based information resources, or technologies to support professional information seeking? What issues for the accessibility of information within the English NHS are posed by current approaches to information governance risk?

This paper entitled "Survey Document Supply Service (SOD) by 2014 Bibliosalut evaluation system GTBib-SOD" explains the experience of using the evaluation system GTBib-SOD provides for a survey of automated users . To do this, the need for this study in the Virtual Library of Health Sciences of the Balearic Islands, who participated in the project, which were the targets and where regulation is based is justified. The study continues to show in detail the details of the work, focusing on the technology used, the advantages of using an automated system to manage the survey and proposals for improvement. All this in parallel with the presentation of the results from the survey in terms of Virtual Library.

Infosalut (http://www.infosalut.com) is the new service of the Virtual Health Sciences Library of the Balearic Islands (Bibliosalut). The main aim of Infosalut is to disseminate the information of the Balearic Islands Health System, amongst the health professionals. Also, this new service wants to make the work that the company is doing visible abroad. With this aim in mind the result is a web page, divided into two parts: news and training agenda. The roles of the librarian are changing, and also in specialised libraries. As a consequence, Infosalut is an example of knowledge management in organisations, make by librarians.

Online tool focused in drugs security alerts in the field of primary care with real time information.

We present a comparative study of the information needs in the Dental Assistants college course conducted during 2011-2013, the Faculty of Dentistry, Buenos Aires University, as part of the training received by the library staff "Prof. Dr. José Arce".

The development of information and communication technologies brings with it radical changes in the functioning of health sciences libraries. These changes often imply the appearance of new models of libraries, from face to face to virtual. The need to adapt to new times and new ways of working with users is a constant challenge for information and documentation professional, who, now more than ever needs to be continually updated in the application of information technologies to library services. In this communication we present the experience of the technology evolution in the Virtual Health Sciences Library of the Balearic Islands (Bibliosalut), which was created in 2003, where a small team of enthusiastic and dedicated professionals, work daily with the aim of constant technology improvement and the corresponding improvement of the services given to the users. These librarian skills have brought with them a transformation in the relationship between the library and the users, who are now more independent, with the possibility of autonomy and self-learning. With this presentation we want to paint the new vision of how librarians work in these ever-evolving times.

The objective of this poster is to show the progress in the management of statistics Virtual Library of Health Sciences of the Balearic Islands (Bibliosalut). In a time of economic crisis, it becomes essential to work for greater visibility and transparency of the work done. In this line, Bibliosalut takes time working on the evaluation of the statistics of electronic resources employed. From here, progress has been made in the management of statistical data for the creation and improvement of quality indicators that allow us to evaluate the management of services and advance continuous improvement.

Any library objective is to provide access to information to the users. In the case of science libraries we must be aware of the scientific production of our users too. The Virtual Health Sciences Library of the Balearic Islands (Bibliosalut) has been active in social networks from 2012. From the beginning we wanted to disseminate research production of the Balearic Public Health Service, this is why we created the hashtag #PublicaSalutIB. With this tag we wanted to give to any user the option to use it. In order to detect published articles Bibliosalut we created some RSS in the following databases and platforms: Pubmed, CINAHL, Embase.com and Web of Science. Searches are also performed manually in databases that do not have the option of RSS. Information is broadcast on Twitter, Facebook and Google+, an email is also sent to the authors to inform the dissemination has been made. Many of the authors inform to Bibliosalut they publish a document. This service improves the user-library relationship as the authors know the usefulness of this work and gives visibility of our researchers work. In nearly two years over 600 documents have been disseminate.

Background: EBM provides accurate methods to identify, summarize and analyze information. In parallel, new roles are integrating medical librarians and information specialists into the research and decision-making workflow in health institutions. Objective: To highlight the need to implement a protocol to systematize general literature searches based on methodologies and quality assessment mechanisms developed by the EBM. Methods: We analyzed the main proposals for selecting information resources and their adequacy for medical libraries, focusing on the COSI protocol. Discussion: COSI helps locate information systematically and select pertinent sources based on CORE, Standard and Ideal searches, fitting searches to target information and available time and resources. Conclusions: The use of EBM methods and resources will maximize the quality of their work for their users. In particular the COSI protocol is a valuable tool for assuring exhaustiveness in systematic information retrieval. Librarians should be involved from the start in formulating research questions (PICO) adapting searches to the study and resources available.

Introduction The document delivery service (DDS) has become an essential for our centers, as a complement to the collection subscribed. Even though this is a highly valued and appreciated by the effectiveness and quickness largely thanks to the collaboration between libraries service, sometimes we find difficulties arising mainly due to the impossibility of obtaining articles unsubscribed journals or serials in our country. Objetives The main purpose of this study is to analyze the needs of the Health Sciences libraries and information centers in Spain obtaining articles and serial documents, which cannot currently be covered by the subscriptions of all the centers of the national network. In addition, the data obtained will allow us to study other aspects of the DDS, such as the type of manager used, to check if the library has or not the possibility to pay for the service of DDS or may only obtain documents through compensation or gratuity agreements and, of course, if a foreign service is used to obtain documents and which ones are used. Methodology A survey with 13 questions was performed, in order to obtain the relevant data to analyze and quantify the information. The survey was sent to a total of 368 centers identified on the Spanish collective catalogs: C17, GTBIB and Rebiun. All kinds of health libraries were included (virtual libraries, hospitals, universities, PRIs, etc.). Results The response rate was nearly 35%. 64% of respondents use Spanish libraries even though they charge for service; 31% only order to those libraries who have free or agreement clearing account. When the document is not found in Spain 23% of the libraries close the request, sometimes at the suggestion of the user. 57% of the libraries requests documents abroad, mostly to British Library or SUBITO. 16% of respondents try to get the item without any cost (through the author, colleagues or distribution lists). Of all the libraries surveyed, only three have a deposit account or buy the item directly to the editor. When identifying the journals that offer more difficulties in their location 325 different titles were found. The three most listed are Hand Clin Neurol, Methods Mol Biol and J Drugs Dermatol. Conclusions The main problems identified were: the dispersion of catalogues and their lack of updating; the difficulty of access to old holdings and to the newest articles because of the embargoes and the limited use of new business editorial models such as deposits or direct purchases. From the collected comments also follows that for many libraries in Spain the problem is not really the title location but the affordable cost for it. Finally, even if the majority uses one of these both systems, the GTBIB or the ILL, there are also centres with its own developed program or without specific software.

Introduction The aim of this work is to analyse the technical development performed in SCIENTIA, digital repository of the Ministry of Health. SCIENTIA project arises from the will of the Ministry of Health to provide open, free and permanent access to scientific knowledge generated by the different entities of the Catalan Public Health Administration, with the aim of increasing the visibility, impact and recognition of the research that is being conducted. Material and methods The operating characteristics of SCIENTIA have been defined: a) Context: community and audience, content typology, general conditions for the acceptance of documents and intellectual property; b) User policy: roles and access levels; c) Flows and processes: documental channel and preservation policies; d) Software technical characteristics and requirements, functionalities of content and collection management system, technical administration and services for users. To make the repository interoperable and to exchange data with other data collection and exploitation system of scientific output, metadata schemes based on the reference Open Archival Information System (OAIS), Dublin Core’s metadata standards, DRIVER guidelines, Creative Common licenses and a permanent URL were applied. Results With the development and implementation of SCIENTIA, we have obtained a tool that allows: to create and share knowledge, collect and preserve scientific output, increase the public value of participating institutions, and to maximize the visibility and the impact of scientific output. Conclusions The digital revolution has changed the way of disseminating scientific information. Access to scientific output is basic for research, innovation and scientific heritage preservation. To have a tool that promotes an open, free and permanent access and enables scientific knowledge to be disseminated, shared and preserved over time is basic.

OBJECTIVE: To identify the scientific journals asked by users, not available in Spanish libraries. MATERIAL AND METHODS: We analyzed article applications processed during the years 2012 and 2013 (a period of important budget cuts in many libraries) by the interlending services of four hospitals of the Spanish region Castilla-La Mancha, two of them university hospitals. We identified those article that could not be served through national interlibrary loan, excluding from the sample those that were not served for the following reasons: Erroneous citation or not enough data, user cancellations because of cost or journal being binded at the time of request. RESULTS: Out of a total of 19.159 requests received from our users, we identified 1.033 requests that could not be served, corresponding to 665 journal titles. Problems encountered include: • Old references not covered by current collections • References in rare languages ​​(Chinese, Japanese ...), Only a small core of journals had a certain demand level (there were only 2 with with more that 10 requests). Among them, some titles have been identified that have been rejected by some library and obtained otherwise, usually using the lists of searches. CONCLUSIONS • We believe that the method could be extended to other libraries and would serve to identify certain gaps in our collections that could be solved cooperatively. • Given the dispersion of the titles requested, it could be more advantageous to purchase articles on demand than to subscribe to journals, but we do not have administrative mechanisms that assure us a speedy purchase. • Further updating of collective catalogs is required. • We detected some degree of "variation in practice" that influences the results. • Some requests indicated that users need some training.

Using reference managers within academia has been a major qualitative change in the organization of work of those who use them. The ability to store and manage references in the information search, and the ability to generate bibliographies tailored to existing citation formats allows a better information management, as well as speeding up the process of manuscript preparation. The aim of this study is to analyze the available tools to manage bibliographies and to establish a comparison.

The daily management of the Virtual Library of Health Sciences of the Balearic Islands (Bibliosalut) is complemented with the study and development of new projects, always walking towards continuous improvement of services offered. We present Infosalut project (www.infosalut.com) whose main objective is to provide professionals in the Public Health System in the Balearic Islands the information generated by the organization itself. This new service replaces Bibliosalut, completely redesigning, Bulletin of Knowledge Management, which was published in 2005 by the Health Service of the Balearic Islands and subsequently by the Ministry of Health of Balearic Islands.

Since 2012 Bibliosalut (Virtual Health Sciences Library of the Balearic Islands) activity in social networks has been increasing. For this reason we decided to analyze different tools to enhance the dissemination and use of these social networks, besides creating a social media plan that reflect content that we broadcast, whom we follow, who we share information and to whom we want to go.

The presentation reveals results of the research that had been made among students and staff of 2nd Faculty of Medicine at Charles University and University Hospital in Motol in May, June and July, 2013. The main goal is to give an overview of their information behaviour as well as to find out how the users are informed about superstructural services (they are reference, search, educational, promotional and interlibrary loan services) which are offered by library itself.

This report is a bibliometric analysis of the growth rates of publications in the fields of stem cells and tissue engineering and regenerative medicine in Iran and compares these rates with the rates in other regions of the world. PubMed database was used for extraction of relevant publications using MeSH terms. The data were extracted from 2001–2011 and the address fields of the publications were checked manually in order to allocate the publications to a relevant geographical region. Linear regression was used for fitting a linear model to the publications of a particular region and the slope of the model was used as an indicator of publication growth rate. Statistical comparison of the slopes of different regions showed that Iran enjoys a moderate growth rate in regards to tissue engineering and regenerative medicine publications (including stem cells-related papers) and a low growth rate in regards to general stem cells papers. Iran is a regionally dominant country in the field of tissue engineering but, not in the field of stem cells. Analysis of the annual growth rate showed a steady pattern of growth of tissue engineering papers and a random pattern of growth for general stem cells papers. This is an indication of instability in the general stem cell research and stability in the field of tissue engineering. Due to equal research funding opportunities, this observation is explained by the natural selection of the latter field by Iranian biomedical scientists, which is suggested to be followed by policy makers.

Social approach on access to information and knowledge on health for the community.

The objective of the present study has been to obtain information on electronic retrieval services in medical libraries, a practice that has a direct impact on the quality of clinical and scientific research in Turkey.

Open Access to publications from the user’s standpoint means possibility to use the full texts of scientific articles without any time restrictions and from any location. Whereas, for the author who intends to publish his article in accordance with the rules of Open Access, it may be connected with incurring costs of expenditures related to making the text available in electronic form. This paper is an attempt to have a look at the rules and principles of Open Access and policies of publishers with reference to the costs incurred by the author. It presents successive steps of conduct during publishing in an open access model.

Specialized Zonal Hospital "Dr. Noel H. Sbarra "of La Plata, was created in 1942. Its initial role was Orphanage, Hospital adopted the name in 1972. the placement of children who arrive by court order is adopting alternative discharge and referral to other institutions, which often receive queries about origins and identity data. Objective: To preserve the original documents and personal data rescue children who were in this institution since 1938 to present. Methods: We describe the process of digitization and transcription of the notebooks of Revenues and Expenditures of children admitted from 1938 to 2005, and the digitization of 33 complete medical records related to the military dictatorship. Results: 8 of the 9 digitized books existing income and expenses, and the 33 records listed. The transcript is being integrated into a single database, pending: a) overhaul to minimize errors, b) digitization of books from 2006 to the present, c) complete the parameters analyzed with other existing sources (files, book income , etc.)
