This study offers valuable insights into family needs and interaction patterns regarding the use of information and communications technologies (ICT) in everyday life. Given that ICT has become an important part of everyday family life, it is essential to comprehensively explore family interactions related to experiences with digital technologies. Within the DigiGen project, 30 interviews involving 10 families were conducted with children aged 5 to 10 years and their family members in Estonia. The aim of the study was to identify the interaction patterns regarding ICT use that emerge between family members in daily life and the daily family needs that are accompanied by ICT use. Thematic analysis was carried out to identify the main themes in the data. Four primary themes of family needs and interaction patterns regarding the use of ICT in everyday life – satisfying needs in family life, the roles of family members, conflicts/disagreements in family life and family rules and negotiation – are discussed. Against the backdrop of increased attention to semiotic relations in audiovisual translation, this qualitative study examines the subtitling of characters and objects from verbal reference to visual information in the presenting and presuming systems in film. By comparatively analyzing the visual-verbal endophora, exophora, and homophora in the DVD and the YYeTs fansubbed Chinese subtitles of an English film Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, it is found that there is a stronger visual-verbal link in the DVD subtitle, in which the visual information functions to generalize unfamiliar world knowledge pertaining to uniquely presumed characters to meet target audiences half way, omit redundant verbal information concerning explicitly presumed characters, and explicitate indefinite lexical items relating to explicitly and implicitly presumed objects. A narrativefriendly subtitle is therefore produced featuring conciseness, high readability, and good comprehensibility. However, the visual-verbal link in the fansubbed subtitle is comparatively weak due to the predominantly employed literal translation in subtitling presented/presumed characters/objects, in which the visual information is detached from the verbal content, leaving viewers with redundant or unspecific verbal messages. Extra processing effort is therefore required for constructing film narratives. Nanopatterned arrays have potential applications in diverse devices, including high-density memory, wettability control, electronic chips, biochips, plasmonics (such as plasmon sensors, plasmon-enhanced molecular spectroscopy, and plasmon-mediated chemical reactions), and so on. In this tutorial, we first introduce colloidal lithography (CL) technique as an important method to prepare nanopatterned arrays. Based on the formation of a mask by self-assembly of polystyrene (PS) colloid spheres, the nanopatterned arrays can be achieved by following a series of various deposition, etching, transfer, and their combination steps. According to the structural differences of the acquired surface patterns, diverse nanopatterned arrays are fabricated by controlling the fabrication routes. Technical issues are discussed in detail, such as preparation and modification of the large-area and ordered PS colloid sphere arrays and design and hybridization of nanostructured arrays of films with various shapes. In the meantime, the potential applications of these nanopatterned array films are reviewed and summarized. During the COVID-19 pandemic, people voluntarily reduced their necessary healthcare. We examined whether supplying educational digital versatile discs (DVDs) before admission can reduce parental rejection of pediatric cardiac catheterization for congenital heart disease (CHD). Parents of 70 children with CHD selected for cardiac catheterization were randomly allocated to the DVD (received pre-admission DVDs in the outpatient department; 70 parents of 35 children) or non-DVD groups (did not receive the DVDs; 70 parents of 35 children). The parents could reject the admission of their children within 7 days. Cardiac catheterization was rejected by 14 (20.0%) and 26 (37.1%) parents in the DVD and non-DVD groups, respectively (p = 0.025). Parent Perceptions of Uncertainty Scale scores were lower in the DVD (128.3 ± 8.9 points) than in the non-DVD group (134.1 ± 7.3 points; p < 0.001). Decreased uncertainty due to pre-admission DVD watching could have contributed to the increased parental willingness for cardiac catheterization. The effects of pre-admission educational DVDs were more significant among parents with a lower education, rural residence, with only one child, female child, or younger child. Offering educational DVDs to parents of children selected for cardiac catheterization for CHD may decrease the parental rejection rate of the treatment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

It further discusses concept of the commentary track emerged on an earlier home video format; 1933 "King Kong" commentary was provided by film historian Ronald Haver, and was an experiment in crafting a scene-specific lecture to accompany the film; "From Russia with Love" directed by Terrence Young.

Purpose: Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) often advise adult patients to complete at-home programs in order to improve outcomes. Despite this widespread practice, relatively little is known about treatment adherence. The purposes of this systematic review were to identify adherence strategies and adherence tracking methods used by adult populations that are commonly treated by SLPs (i.e., dysphagia, aphasia, traumatic brain injury, dysphonia, dysarthria), and to identify the efficacy of these strategies. Method: The systematic review was conducted in accordance with A Measurement Tool to Assess Systematic Reviews guidelines. A comprehensive literature search was performed in three databases (CINAHL, PubMed, and Web of Science). Results: Of the 679 articles found, 18 were selected for analysis. Two thirds of the included articles received the second highest rating on the 5-point JAMA Quality Rating Scheme. Interventions designed to alter treatment adherence included (most to least frequent) computer programs, portable devices/phone apps, alarm reminders, instructional DVDs, check-ins from a clinician/volunteer, and wearable device. Adherence reporting methods included (most to least frequent) self-report diaries, computer program/app-aided collection, wearable device, and clinician/volunteer observation. Of the articles that reported practice frequency, 58% found that adherence strategies improved practice frequency as compared to control. Of the articles that reported treatment outcomes, 66% found that adherence strategies were associated with improved treatment outcomes as compared to control. Conclusions: The paucity of publications reviewed suggests that treatment adherence is considerably understudied in speech-language pathology. The necessity of promoting physical activity in individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) has been emphasized for decades. One of the barriers to participate in physical activity for individuals with ASD is limited interest and motivation. Therefore, understanding the motivation to exercise in this population is important. The objective was to determine the effect of using contingent reinforcement in the form of watching a preferred DVD to increase duration of time pedalling on a stationary bicycle within their predetermined target heart rate zone (THRZ) in children with ASD. Using a crossover design, seven participants (11 2.7 years) who were diagnosed with ASD were randomly assigned to either Group A or B. Time spent pedalling on a bicycle within the THRZ was analysed using a linear mixed-effect model with Bonferroni adjustments. The results showed that the DVD intervention motivated children with ASD to exercise for more than 10 minutes in moderate to vigorous physical activity compared to when they were exercising without watching a DVD. This result is significant as number of studies have revealed that 10 minutes of exercise could bring improvements in activities of daily living such as behaviors and academic performance in school. Previous evidence suggests physical activity interventions effectively produce short-term improvements in physical function for older adults. The present study examined whether improvements in physical function after a DVD-delivered exercise intervention were maintained 18 months postintervention. Older adults (n = 153) randomized to a 6-month DVD-delivered exercise intervention or an attentional control condition were contacted 18 months postintervention. Participants completed the Short Physical Performance Battery (SPPB) and measures of flexibility, strength, and functional limitations were taken. Analyses of variance were conducted to determine if improvements in physical function as a result of the intervention were maintained at follow-up. Improvements in the SPPB, F (1,125) = 3.70, p = .06, η2 = .03, and upper body strength, F (1,121) = 3.04, p = .08, η2 = .03 were maintained for the intervention condition. This study examines the optimization of interrelease timing decisions, focusing on box office and DVD sales in the U.S. motion picture industry. It aims to improve managerial decision making by jointly modeling the revenue in these two channels through a copula modeling approach. As in previous studies, the authors find that the time lag from box office release to DVD release should be increased to optimize total movie performance, but they conclude that previous studies have systematically underestimated the optimal time lag. This study is the first to challenge the assumption of a negative decay in DVD performance as a function of time; its results suggest that a delayed DVD release is still optimal for maximizing revenue in the DVD channel. This study's model suggests that, on average, individual movies are approximately eight weeks away from their optimal lag and that the net impact of optimizing would be improvements in total and DVD revenue by 2.5% and 5.6%, respectively. Guided by critical discourse analysis, commercially available exercise DVDs are described in terms of the instructor and model characteristics, and the motivational content being verbally conveyed by the instructors on the DVDs. Ten commercially available, contemporary, single instructor lead exercise DVDs were obtained from multiple sources. Instructor and model characteristics, emergent relationship patterns, and the motivational content of the primary instructor were analyzed. Most instructors and models were female, Caucasian, slim, and dressed in revealing attire. Motivational statements comprised 26.9% (SD = 11.31) of the transcripts. One in seven motivational statements were negative. With body capital clearly on display and some of the motivational language being suspect in terms of building potential participants' psychological capital, the value of commercial exercise DVDs is brought into question. The main purpose of this study was to examine the relationships between parental and children's physical activity and screen time behaviors in a large sample of children in the early years. The results are based on 738 children aged 0-5 years and their parents from the Kingston, Canada area. Parents completed a questionnaire from May to September 2011 that assessed sociodemographic characteristics, their physical activity and screen time, and their child's physical activity and screen time. Logistic regression models, adjusted for potential confounders, were conducted. Parents in the lowest quartile of physical activity were 2.77 (95% confidence interval (CI): 1.68^.57) times more likely to have a child in the lowest quartile of physical activity compared with parents in the highest quartile of physical activity. Relationships were stronger in two parent homes compared with single-parent homes. Parents in the second (odds ratio = 2.27,95% CI: 1.36-3.78), third (2.30, 1.32-3.99), and fourth (7.47,4.53-12.33) screen time quartiles were significantly more likely to have a child in the highest quartile of screen time compared with parents in quartile one. Sentiment analysis is the process of extracting the opinions of customers from online reviews. In general, customers express their reviews in natural language. It becomes a complex task when applying sentiment analysis on those reviews. In earlier stages, word‐level features with various feature weighting methods such as Bag of Words, TF‐IDF, and Word2Vec were applied for sentiment analysis and deep learning networks are not explored much. We considered phrase level and sentence level features instead of applying word‐level features for sentiment analysis and also enhanced by applying various deep learning techniques. In this article, we have proposed a hybrid convolutional bidirectional recurrent neural network model (CBRNN) by combining two‐layer convolutional neural network (CNN) with a bidirectional gated recurrent unit (BGRU). In the proposed CBRNN model, the CNN layer extracts the rich set of phrase‐level features and BGRU captures the chronological features through long term dependency in a multi‐layered sentence. The proposed approach was evaluated on two benchmark datasets and compared with various baselines. The experimental results show that the proposed hybrid model provides better results than any other models with an F1 score of 87.62% and 77.4% on IMDB and Polarity datasets,respectively. Our CBRNN model outperforms the state of the art by 2%‐4% on these two datasets. In this paper, Au nanoparticles (AuNPs) are prepared using wet chemical reduction transfer of dense AuNPs film by self-assembly to the surface of Ag grating, which is inverted from the inner DVD after evaporation. The Ag grating/AuNPs self-assembly hybrid substrate commonly used in surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) research is produced. The coupling effect between AuNP-AuNP and AuNPs-Ag slugs can evidently enhance the local electric field. Experimental results show that the hybrid SERS substrate can detect 10−9 M Rh6G, and the enhancement factor reaches 4.4 × 105. Information systems, such as task management applications and digital assistants, can help people keep track of tasks of different types and different time durations, ranging from a few minutes to days or weeks. Helping people better manage their tasks and their time are core capabilities of assistive technologies, situated within a broader context of supporting more effective information access and use. Throughout the course of a day, there are typically many short time periods of downtime (e.g., five minutes or less) available to individuals. Microtasks are simple tasks that can be tackled in such short amounts of time. Identifying microtasks in task lists could help people utilize these periods of low activity to make progress on their task backlog. We define actionable tasks as self-contained tasks that need to be completed or acted on. However, not all to-do tasks are actionable. Many task lists are collections of miscellaneous items that can be completed at any time (e.g., books to read, movies to watch), notes (e.g., names, addresses), or the individual items are constituents in a list that is itself a task (e.g., a grocery list). In this article, we introduce the novel challenge of microtask detection, and we present machine-learned models for automatically determining which tasks are actionable and which of these actionable tasks aremicrotasks. Experiments show that our models can accurately identify actionable tasks, accurately detect actionable microtasks, and that we can combine these models to generate a solution that scales microtask detection to all tasks. Study Objectives: To examine the associations between screen time, the time spent on different screen devices, and sleep in a sample of Finnish preschool children.Methods: The current study analyzed cross-sectional data from the DAGIS study carried out in Finland in 2015-2016 on 736 children aged 3-6 years. Parents reported in a 7-day diary the durations the child used screen devices daily, with separate details about watching TV or DVDs, using tablets or smartphones, and using computers. In addition, parents reported children's bedtimes and wake-up times, which were further used in calculating sleep duration. Parents answered questions regarding their child's sleep consistency. Statistical analyses included adjusted general linear modeling.Results: An hourly increase in total screen time was associated with 11 min later bedtime (p < 0.001) and 10 min shorter sleep duration (p < 0.001). More TV/DVD watching was associated with later bedtimes (p = 0.016) and a shorter sleep duration (p = 0.001). More smartphone/tablet use was associated with later bedtimes (p = 0.005), later wake-up times (p = 0.038), and weaker sleep consistency (p = 0.024). More computer use was associated with later bedtimes (p = 0.046). Results did not differ between genders.Conclusions: Increased screen time was associated with later bedtimes and shorter sleep duration among preschool children. Adverse associations with sleep outcomes were found for each screen device. Attention should be paid to promoting balanced use of screens and regular sleep habits in young children. Objectives: Prior work has demonstrated that executive function training or physical exercise can improve older adults' cognition. The current study takes an exploratory approach to compare the feasibility and efficacy of online executive function training and low-intensity aerobic exercise for improving cognitive and psychosocial functioning in healthy older adults. Method: Following a standard pretest-training-posttest protocol, 40 older adults (aged 65 and above) were randomly assigned to an executive function or a physical training group. A battery of cognitive and psychosocial outcome measures were administered before and after training. During the 10 weeks of self-guided training at home (25–30 min/day, 4 days/week), the executive function training group practiced a set of adaptive online executive function tasks designed by Lumos Labs, whereas the physical training group completed an adaptive Digital Video Disc (DVD)-based low-intensity aerobic exercise program. Results: Training transfer effects were limited. Relative to low-intensity aerobic exercise, executive function training yielded cognitive improvement on the 64-card Wisconsin Card Sorting Task (WCST-64), a general executive function measure. Depression and stress levels dropped following both training programs, but this could be driven by decreased stress or excitement in performing the tasks over time. Discussion: The results revealed limited cognitive benefits of the online executive function training program, specifically to a near transfer test of general executive control. Featured Application: This work demonstrates the utilization of CD/DVD pick-up heads for scratch inspection on magnetic disk. A non-destructive technique to inspect a scratch on all magnetic disks in the beginning process of hard disk drive (HDD) manufacturing by using CD and DVD pick-up heads as the detector is proposed. It requires a 100% disk inspection of micrometer-sized scratches in a quick measurement with low cost inventing. Most of the previous studies were in static state but this is the first time to be done in dynamic study using the microcontroller in order to promptly serve for industrial utilization. The size, position, and shape characteristic of scratches are examined using light reflection technique. The results show that, when the laser beam is targeted on a magnetic disk in a position, either scratch or non-scratch, the reflected light intensity differs. The DVD pick-up head can detect the width and the surface characteristic of the scratches, which is similar to the results from scanning electron microscope (SEM) for all scratches sizes less than 100 µm. It is also found that using a DVD pick-up head provides a better resolution of shape characteristic and roughness of scratches surface than a CD pick-up head. Hence, the scratch size of 10s µm scale on the magnetic disk can be accurately characterized by this proposed technique, which can be further utilized for magnetic disk inspection in the hard disk drive manufacturing process. Purpose: This study was conducted to provide a detailed report concerning the impression of disabled users' vis-à-vis satisfaction with the library and information services provided at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). Design/methodology/approach: To conduct the research study, 214 disabled students, the librarian and the in charge of the Braille section were surveyed using a bilateral approach, which included a questionnaire and structured interview. The data, thus, collected were analysed using the SPSS (version 23) tool. Findings: The research data revealed that the library under study was providing adequate information resources and services to their disabled users, exclusive of subtitles digital versatile disc (DVD) and videos for deaf students. It also came to light that there is a necessity of skilled staff, proficient in sign language, interpretation and Braille reading, which the library should look into the near future. The results also highlighted that most of the users were satisfied with the resources, while least were satisfied with the services and facilities provided by the library; suggestions were listed to maximize the satisfaction level amongst users. Research limitations/implications: The present study is confined to AMU and the disabled students enrolled in various courses of study. A suitably designed survey can be applied to reveal similar trends in different institutions as well. Originality/value: This study is useful for professionals pursuing an understanding of the library and information services for disabled persons. Furthermore, it is anticipated that the opinions recorded and the services highlighted will not only be useful for the particular organization but also serve the purpose for the governing bodies where the policies for these users are framed as a result of which institutions can develop effective services to access knowledge without any barrier. This paper provides a brief overview of the current state of copyright law in the United States, focusing on the negative impacts of these policies on libraries and patrons. The article discusses four challenges current copyright law presents to libraries and the public in general, highlighting three concrete ways intellectual property law interferes with digital library services and systems. Finally, the author suggests that a greater emphasis on copyright literacy and a commitment among the library community to advocate for fairer policies is vital to correcting the imbalance between the interests of the public and those of copyright holders. Before a new product launch, marketers need to infer how demand will respond to various levels of marketing-mix variables to set an appropriate marketing plan. A critical challenge in estimating marketing-mix responsiveness from historical data is that the observed decisions were affected by private information possessed by managers about the heterogeneous effects of marketing-mix variables on sales. The authors refer to this as the “slope endogeneity” problem. Such endogeneity differs from the “intercept endogeneity” problem, which has been widely acknowledged in the literature. To correct for the slope endogeneity bias, the authors develop a conceptually simple control function approach that is amenable to multiple endogenous variables and marketing-mix carryover effects. The method is applied to forecasting advertising responsiveness in the U.S. DVD market. The results suggest that advertising responsiveness varies substantially across DVD titles and that estimated marketing-mix elasticities would be biased if the slope endogeneity problem were ignored. The article reviews the DVD recording of the documentary film "Makatea: Le terre convoitée," (Makatea: The Coveted Land), directed by Claire Perdrix, produced by Cyrille Perez, Gilles Perez, Dominique Monteiro and Christine Tisseau.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the relationship between therapist competence in case conceptualization and outcome in psychotherapy. Method: Twenty-eight adults received Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for depression. The Conceptualization Rating Scale (CRS) was used to systematically evaluate therapist competence in case conceptualization using ratings from 225 DVD recordings of live therapy in real time across the first ten sessions of treatment. Results: Multilevel modelling (MLM) analysis revealed that after controlling for time and other pertinent therapy influencing variables, therapist competence in case conceptualization explained 40% of within patient variance and 19% of between patient variance associated with significant and positive change on the BDI-II. Conclusions: This study provided evidence that increased therapist competence in using case conceptualization in CBT is associated with greater reductions in depressive symptomology. Introduction: The endoscopic stone treatment step 1 (EST s1) protocol has been developed after 2 years of collaborative work between different European Association of Urology (EAU) sections. Objectives: In this study, we added construct validity evidence to the EST s1 curriculum. Materials and methods: The EST-s1 curriculum includes four standardized tasks: flexible cystoscopy, rigid cystoscopy, semi-rigid URS and flexible URS. Validation was performed during the annual 2016 EUREP meeting in Prague. 124 participants provided information on their endoscopic logbook and carried out these 4 tasks during a DVD recorded session. Recordings were anonymized and blindly assessed independently by five proctors. Inter-rater reliability was checked on a sample of five videos by the calculation of intra-class correlation coefficient. Task-specific clinical background of participants was correlated with their personal performance on the simulator. Breakpoint analysis was used to define the minimum number of performed cases, to be considered "proficient". "Proficient" and "Non-proficient" groups were compared for construct validity assessment. Likert scale-based questionnaires were used to test content and to comment on when the EST-s1 exams should be undertaken within the residency program. Results: 124 participants (105 final-year residents and 19 faculty members) took part in this study. The breakpoint analysis showed a significant change in performance curve at 36, 41, 67 and 206 s, respectively, corresponding to 30, 60, 25 and 120 clinical cases for each of the 4 tasks. EST-s1 was scored as a valid training tool, correctly representing the procedures performed in each task. Experts felt that this curriculum is best used during the third year of residency training. Conclusion: Our validation study successfully demonstrated correlation between clinical expertise and EST-s1 tasks, adding construct validity evidence to it. In the present article, the experimental method of determination of Planck's constant, one of the fundamental physical constants, is presented by studying the quantum and wave properties of the light emitting diode (LED), in an automated experimental model which contains an electronic circuit connected to a computer using the USB protocol with the help of the Arduino platform. LEDs have found a variety of applications, for example: in home, public, in-house lighting, TV monitors, computers, to read CD and DVD discs in computer units and game console units, or to transmit signals from remote controls to electronic equipment. LED is a vital link between electronics and photonics: LED-based semiconductor lasers send modulated optical signals through fiber optics, catering to the ever-increasing demand for broadband and Internet telecommunication. The automation of measurements and data processing of Physics experiments allows students to deepen their knowledge of methods and techniques of the experiment, to study scientific research apparatus, to master different experimental research methods, to master mathematical methods and graphs of the results obtained, and also the evaluation of the measurements made. Simple and highly sensitive SERS substrates were produced using Au nanoparticles (AuNPs) prepared by laser ablation in water and available Digital Video Discs (DVDs). We used the simple "drop-cast" method to deposit AuNPs on the grating pattern surface of a DVD in place of the other methods such as electrochemical deposition, electrophoretic deposition and sputtering method which require some more equipment. AuNPs were proposed to be synthesized in water by laser ablation to form a nearly circular AuNP stain of small size on a DVD surface. The protecting polycarbonate layer of a DVD was removed from the DVD surface. The bare metallic DVD surface was rinsed carefully with ethanol and distilled water. The width of tracks on a DVD surface is around 300 nm and distance between them is around 450 nm. We prepared AuNPs by pulsed laser ablation of a gold piece in distilled water. The colloidal gold nanoparticles were deposited on DVD templates. We studied to produce an effective layer of AuNPs on DVD template for SERS substrates (AuNPs/DVD). The average SERS enhancement factor of the AuNPs/DVD SERS substrates is about 106. The SERS substrates can detect SERS spectra of Malachite Green and Amoxicillin at low concentrations of around 0.1–1 ppm. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Kaspar Holten's production of Szymanowski's King Roger (completed in 1924) is an important realization of this complex and challenging opera. It was premiered at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden in 2015; a DVD recording of the London performances makes a detailed study of the production possible. This article is concerned with the issue of what constitutes fidelity in a director's approach. It begins by discussing Szymanowski's mise en scène, and outlines the main themes of King Roger and its relationship to Euripides' Bacchae; then it engages with Holten's interpretation, and the fascinating designs by Steffen Aarfing, which enable his vision to be realized. The lead characters – Roger and his Queen, Roxana – are both discussed with reference to how Holten illuminates Szymanowski's drama and its music. His production raises fundamental questions about fidelity and innovation which have dominated critical discussion of many modernist and post-modernist productions not just of opera, but of 'classics' of the spoken theatre as well; these questions are posed in particular by Holten's decision that Roxana should remain with Roger until the end of the opera, in violation of Szymanowski's scenario. • Bibliometric retrospective of Food Chemistry during 1976–2016 (40th anniversary). • The data were retrieved from the Scopus database (Elsevier). • Research hot spots, leading authors, universities and countries were highlighted. • Graphical mapping of the authors networks was developped by using VOS viewer software. This study presents a general bibliometric overview of the major scientific developments that have been published in Food Chemistry, since its first issue (1976). The bibliometric data were retrieved from the scopus database. The review identifies the most cited, productive authors, and the leading institutions and countries of the journal, based on bibliometric indicators. The research hot spots in the period from 1976 to 2016 were identified by using the visualization of similarities software (Vosviewer), and the graphical mapping of the authors was developed to visualize networks between authors. A total of 20,050 publications was analysed and the most influential subjects covered by the journal were identified. Topics related to the antioxidant components of foods and the analytical quantification of contaminants or components of food were identified as being most relevant. This paper studies a rental perishable supply chain in which perishable commodities can be recycled with demand uncertainty. Battery of electricity vehicle, rental service of DVD, construction equipment, cellphone, bestseller book, style costume and camera in tourist area are examples of rental perishable items with a fixed shelf life and recycling characteristic. Mainly taking battery swap station of electricity vehicles for example, this paper attempts to gain an insight into the role of return policy in rental perishable supply chain from the perspective of supplier. Under the condition of rental demand uncertainty, the supplier faces issue of how to maximize expected profit through return policy. Therefore, a bilateral monopoly model is developed to address this question. This paper illustrates that return policy tends to ensure system optimal for rental perishable supply chain as long as battery supplier choose appropriate wholesale price and buyback price. Moreover, return policy can achieve channel coordination and both parties benefit from the win–win situation under certain condition. It is possible for battery supplier to arbitrarily distribute the incremental profit of return policy by appropriately choosing values of wholesale price and buyback price. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
