This paper presents a model that provides harvesting, preparation, metadata description, management and exploitation including full text search over documents from a domain of criminalistics written in Serbian. Proposed approach is applied in a web portal that collects various texts derived from journals of The Academy of Criminalistics and Police Studies, Criminal code of Serbia, the “Tara” and “Reiss” conferences, and from some of PhD dissertations related to this field of research. After text processing, a corpus containing over 5500 pages of plain text is created and prepared for publication as an online resource for full text search using Omeka, an open source content management system for on line digital library development. Search capabilities, both full text and metadata search are customized and improved by query expansion via web service relaying on the Serbian morphological dictionary and the Serbian WordNet semantic network for providing morphological and semantic text search expansion. The paper outlines possibilities for further use and analysis on a digital library as a corpus, annotation, tagging, document classification and clustering, as well as sentiment analysis with first results in that direction.

Open image in new window In this paper we present BEWARE multi-device web GIS application that provides management of geospatial and attribute landslides data. Software solution is in use from July 2015 and it was continuously and successfully used for collecting field data for the project “The Harmonization of Landslide Data and training of municipalities for its monitoring: BEWARE (BEyond landslide aWAREness”). It consists of several components, two mobile applications for data collection on the field, both on-line and in off-line mode, using android devices, web GIS application for field data and web analytical tool for comprehensive statistics. Mobile application provides integration of thematic layers in the form of tile package, with field work data, as well data synchronization with GIS web portal on server geodatabase. The BEWARE is a platform for interactive landslide event reporting, analyzing and unifying landslide data and multimedia management. Development of multi-functional application was initiated in order to facilitate and improve the landslides geodatabase use and avoid building-up in areas where there is an apparent high risk of landslides. Apart from authorized users from Faculty of Mining and Geology, Geological survey and employees of Ministry of Mining and Energy of Serbia, system is used by municipalities who can record the occurrence of landslides as early notification for further inspection. Application provides several different Open Data collections for each municipality.

The paper describes an approach to providing a learning continuum for entrepreneurial experts using information technology. The rationales for this approach are the rapid changes of expert knowledge, especially in engineering disciplines. Starting with academic education of future experts and continuing with their life-long learning, the approach relies on blending academic and entrepreneurial knowledge by means of technology enhanced learning. To that end, a network of organisations is being formed where open educational resources will be published and shared. The main goals to be reached by this network, as well as its salient features are described. Special attention is given to the language support system, which provides for multilinguality of the resources, namely their publishing in different languages.

1788 1778 M30 M33 A generic knowledge management process of organization, storage and retrieval of knowledge can suitably be fitted in a digital library. In the digital and knowledge age digital libraries can be used in knowledge management to handle intellectual assets and support knowledge creation. A multilingual digital library either stores content in more than one language or provides multilingual query access to monolingual content. In Serbia 18 of 308 scientific journals regularly published are bi-lingual, with papers simultaneously being in English and Serbian. Bilingual publication of results of international projects is also an increasingly frequent practice. In this paper we present a publicly available multilingual digital library named Bibliša, developed for management, search and the browsing of aligned bilingual text collections. The approach to the development of the presented digital library was to store its content in a NoSQL-database, with a web tool to enable the use of rich information in the stored text collections. The library content originates from various bilingual sources, with all documents aligned at the sentence level and provided with metadata. In designing Bibliša special attention was given to its component that offers language support, based on bilingual lexical resources and tools, to various multilingual aspects of this library.
