Abstract

This paper proposes a dual‐frequency three‐dimensional wireless power transfer system, which can achieve dual channel independent maximum power transfer of two movable receivers. Based on the dual‐frequency compensation network, a dual‐frequency magnetic field orientation strategy and a current control strategy are developed. Accordingly, the mathematical model of the proposed system is established, providing the theoretical support for mutual non‐interference of the power transfer between the two power transfer channels with different frequencies. On this basis, an iterative optimization control system is designed for independent maximum power transfer for two power transfer channels without any interference. A 200‐W experimental prototype with an efficiency of around 80% is built to verify the correctness of the proposed system. 4. A Robust Field Orientation Control Method for Induction Motor Drives

Abstract

The performance of the induction motor (IM) control system under the conventional rotor-flux-oriented scheme may greatly deteriorate in the presence of parameter mismatch. To address this problem, first, the motor parameters sensitivity of two different field orientation methods is analyzed. Then, a modified field orientation method, which combines the advantages of the two different field orientation methods, is presented. Compared with the conventional scheme, the proposed IM control scheme guarantees the robustness of the system against leakage inductance mismatch across the full load range, leading to static and dynamic high-speed performance improvement. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by simulations and experiments.

7. Algebraic Modulation Strategy for Direct Matrix Converter With Adaptation to Unbalanced Grids

Abstract

Owing to the direct coupling between the input and output, the input/output currents of the direct matrix converter (DMC) are sensitive to grid disturbances, especially unbalanced grids. To mitigate the adverse effects caused by unbalanced grids, an algebraic modulation strategy is developed for the DMC in this article. Based on the algebraic theory, the general solution of the modulation vector is first derived. By utilizing the free variables, sinusoidal input/output currents are ensured despite whether the grid is balanced or not. The impact of offset variables is analyzed and they are designed to realize three-level output characteristics. Furthermore, the switching sequence is arranged without bipolar operating mode. The presented algebraic modulation strategy has the following features: 1) easy to implement; 2) three-level output voltage synthesis; 3) effective under either balanced or unbalanced grids. The effectiveness of the algebraic modulation strategy is validated by laboratory experiments.

8. Adaptive Control for SPMSM No Need of Parameter Information but Pole Pairs

Abstract

The existing noncascaded control schemes for surface-mount permanent magnet synchronous motors (SPMSMs) with stability guarantee inevitably depend on parameter information. To address this problem, we propose a multivariable model reference adaptive control scheme for SPMSM. It does not require parameter information of the SPMSM but pole pairs. The scheme consists of two parts: 1) coordinate transformation and 2) output feedback adaptive control. The coordinate transformation is presented to solve the undesirable effects of unmatched load torque. The output feedback adaptive controller is used to guarantee the stability of the system. Furthermore, the stability proof of the overall system is given in detail. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed scheme is verified by simulation and experiment.

Abstract

Permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) have the preponderance of high-power density, high reliability and small volume, which are diffusely used in industrial electric vehicle field. Permanent magnet synchronous motor vector control needs correct speed information feedback. Compared to high precision encoders and speed sensorless solutions, PMSM with hall sensors are an optimistic consideration of system cost and control performance. Nevertheless, hall sensors have poor position resolution and are prone to mounting deviations. Aiming at these problems, this paper proposes a position and velocity observer scheme with an adaptive vectorial filter. Simulations verify the estimation accuracy and superiority of the proposed method compared with the previous average velocity method.

Abstract

A modified extended-phase-shift (EPS) control is proposed to decrease the control complexity and achieve full load range zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) for dual-active-bridge dc-dc converters. In the proposed solution, a fixed duty cycle is added, and the magnetizing current is utilized to achieve full load range ZVS. In addition, two control variables are decoupled, because the control of duty cycle is only determined by the voltage conversion ratio, which is not affected by the phase shift angle. The ZVS models considering junction capacitors and magnetizing inductance, ZVS regions under full load range, and derivation of control law are analyzed in detail. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed solution is verified by experimental results from a 500W, 250kHz GaN-Based prototype.

Abstract

This article proposes an extremum seeking algorithm (ESA) based on a square wave, which provides an alternative method to the dynamic maximum power transmission problem of the three-dimensional (3-D) wireless power transfer (WPT) system. The proposed method uses a square wave signal instead of the sinusoidal signal as the detection signal, which is simpler to implement in the discrete control system. By simultaneously detecting two azimuths of the 3-D WPT system, the detection time of the maximum power transmission point is reduced. The convergence of the ESA based on square wave is verified according to the mathematical model of the system. Finally, an experimental prototype is set up to verify the correction and effectiveness of the ESA based on square wave. Abstract

The LLC resonant converter can be used as a dc–dc transformer (DCX) to provide isolation and fixed voltage transfer ratio. In this paper, a modulation strategy is proposed to achieve natural bidirectional power flow for DCX-LLC converters without exchanging the PWM logics and without auxiliary SR circuit. Without loss of generality, the proposed modulation can achieve ZVS of one side switches and ZCS of another side switches. In addition, the converter gain is fixed as long as the converter resonant current is discontinuous. Meanwhile, two additional diodes are added to achieve the constant output power limitation under overload condition.
