Problem Statement: Shooting skills are very important for players because it is impossible to score without it. Meanwhile, mastery of correct passing techniques and the application of efficient techniques can facilitate the passage of the ball between sides in order to achieve the goal (goal). Research objective: This study aims to determine the effect of drop pass and shooting drills on the accuracy of shooting and passing of U-15 male football players at the Maestro FC Club Lombok Timur in 2022. Research Design: The research design used in this study was "one group pretest-posttest design". Population and Sample: The population in this study were all U-15 male football players at the Maestro FC Club Lombok Timur, totaling 24 people. Meanwhile, the sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling, so that 15 children met the age criteria under 15 years. Research Instruments: The instrument used in this study was a test of shooting skills and passing/stopping skills from Nurhasan (2001). Data Analysis: The data analysis technique used t-test by comparing the mean value of the pretest-posttest results before and after treatment with the same sample. Prior to the t-test analysis, pre-requisites of analysis were conducted in the form of normality and homogeneity tests to determine the results of the data being normally distributed and homogeneous. Results and Discussion: Based on the results of testing the t-test value of shooting accuracy, with a t-count > t-table which is 4,136 > 2,145 at a significant level of 5%, it can be concluded that "there is an effect of drop pass and shooting drills on the accuracy of shooting of U-15 male football players at the Maestro FC Club Lombok Timur in 2022". Not unlike the 1930s, the current state of global economic governance is marked by a vacuum of leadership as neither traditional leading states nor emerging economic actors have proven able or willing to coordinate collective action. This interregnum has allowed space for the G20 to emerge as a calibrating force for the maintenance of a liberal economic order. Protectionist impulses, however, are increasingly emerging victorious as unemployment and domestic interests drive political action. The stabilizing presence of the G20 is thus tested in an environment privileging divisive domestic-oriented forces allowed greater space under conditions in a fragmented post-hegemonic global economy. These spaces for domestic concern, and the receptiveness of policy leaders to them, represent a return to the promise of embedded liberalism and away from the era of hyper-liberalization that has marked the past several decades of broadly measured economic growth. more...

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to seek to apply Polanyi's theory of the double movement as a response to the effects of economic liberalization and globalization to the pre‐2007 American economy. In so doing, it seeks to ascertain the reasons why this assumed double movement did not materialize until after the post‐2007 global economic crisis.Design/methodology/approachThis paper is structured as a theoretical and historical analysis, building upon Polanyi's nineteenth century observations and applying them to contemporary policy economic and social experience in the USA in the late twentieth century. The argument proposes a correlation between the missing and/or delayed movement and the role of access to debt and participation in equity markets.FindingsThis paper argues that Polanyi's concept of a societal countermovement has been absent from the post‐1970 period of economic liberalism and globalization until just recently due to an explicit attempt by the forces of capital to circumvent its role in lessening the harmful effects of American capitalism. In particular, the double movement that should have sought to lessen income inequality, unemployment and wage stagnation was instead replaced by access to cheap credit and the democratization of market investments that spurred consumer purchases and a false belief that what was good for the markets was good for working class Americans.Research limitations/implicationsThis paper highlights the need for ongoing research into the sociotropic nature of trade and of economic policy, and its evolution throughout the contemporary period of economic uncertainty and economic transition.Practical implicationsThe paper proposes several policy implications arising from the contemporary application of Polanyi's double movement, notably related to international trade and public and political support for ongoing trade liberalization.Social implicationsThis paper highlights important connections in the relationship between economic policy and the day‐to‐day lives of those who are governed by it. Although the provision of publicly funded health and mental health services to homeless persons has expanded greatly in the past decade, primary prevention of homelessness has received relatively little attention (O’Connell et al., 2005). Evictions are a major proximate cause of homelessness, and numerous studies show that evictions primarily result from tenants’ nonpayment of rent (Stenberg and van Laere, 2009; Van Laere et al., 2009). However, evidence also suggests that, for some housed persons, untreated mental health problems may also increase eviction risk by contributing to behaviors that jeopardize continued tenancy (Crane et al., 2005; Van Laere et al., 2009). Hoarding disorder (HD; Mataix-Cols et al., 2010) is one mental health condition that may precipitate homelessness by placing housed individuals at risk of eviction (Mataix-Cols D, Grayton L, Bonner A, Luscombe C, Taylor PJ, van den Bree M. A putative link between compulsive hoarding and homelessness: A pilot study [submitted for publication]; Tolin, et al., 2008). Also known as “compulsive hoarding syndrome” (Saxena, 2008), HD is defined as persistent difficulty in discarding personal possessions of limited value, which results in clutter that precludes normal use of living spaces and causes clinically significant distress or impairment (Frost and Gross, 1993; Frost and Hartl, 1996; Mataix-Cols et al., 2010). Once considered a subtype of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), HD is now considered a separable syndrome and has been proposed as a new diagnostic category in DSM-V (Mataix-Cols et al., 2010; Phillips et al., 2010). Epidemiological surveys estimate a 2% to 5% prevalence of HD in the general population (Iervolino et al., 2009; Mataix-Cols et al., 2010; Samuels et al., 2008). Recommended treatment strategies for HD include medication (e.g., paroxetine and venlafaxine) and cognitive behavioral therapy (Saxena, 2008, 2011; Steketee and Frost, 2003). HD is associated with high levels of disability and impairment (Frost et al., 2000; Tolin et al., 2008). It causes public health problems when clutter attracts pest infestations or obstructs fire exits in apartment buildings, endangering both personal and neighbors’safety (Frost et al., 2000; Frost et al., 1999; Patronek, 1999). These conditions may lead neighbors and landlords to complain, resulting in legal proceedings and eviction (Frost et al., 1999). Two studies have examined the putative link between HD, eviction, and homelessness. An Internet study of the economic and social burden of HD surveyed 864 individuals with HD and found that 2% reported being evicted and 6% endorsed being threatened with eviction (Tolin et al., 2008). A study in the United Kingdom evaluated the prevalence of HD in 78 randomly selected homeless individuals newly admitted to Salvation Army shelters (Mataix-Cols D, Grayton L, Bonner A, Luscombe C, Taylor PJ, van den Bree M. A putative link between compulsive hoarding and homelessness: A pilot study [submitted for publication]): up to 21% of these individuals endorsed hoarding symptoms and 8% reported that hoarding problems directly contributed to their homeless state. Although these studies suggest that HD may contribute to eviction and homelessness, to our knowledge, no studies have examined the prevalence and correlates of HD in a population seeking housing assistance and at potential risk for eviction. To begin to address this gap, we evaluated the prevalence of HD in a sample of people seeking services from a not-for-profit community organization focused on helping individuals with housing problems including eviction. The adherence of clinical and commensal isolates and reference collection strains of Candida albicans to a human esophageal cell monolayer (HET1-A) and reconstituted human esophageal tissue was compared. Isolates from patients with a severe form of esophageal candidiasis or candidemia adhered to HET1-A cells to a significantly greater extent than did isolates from patients with mild esophageal candidiasis or commensal and reference collection strains. In addition, C. albicans strain SSK21, which lacks the ssk1 response regulator gene of a 2-component signal transduction pathway, adhered less readily to the HET1-A cells than did parental cells or a gene-reconstituted strain. In a reconstituted esophageal tissue model, all clinical strains but not commensal or reference collection strains penetrated the epithelium, albeit at different rates. Hyphal formation following yeast cell adherence to the esophageal tissue was a requirement for invasion. Scanning electron microscopy was also used to confirm the colonization of the esophageal tissues by various strains. These studies indicate that both the HET1-A and the reconstituted esophageal tissue models can be used as in vitro targets to evaluate the adherence phenotype and invasiveness of C. albicans strains. more...

Abstract The MinDoc3 platform, a dry tree capable, spread-moored deep draft floater featuring three columns braced together, was selected for Mirage field development because of flexibility, functionality and ability to fabricate in the US Gulf Coast. This paper presents the MinDOC's global performance and discusses impacts from hull form, mooring design and riser interaction and makes comparisons to previous design standards. The Mirage Field is located in Mississippi Canyon 941/942 in 4000 ft WD. The weather criteria includes the impact of hurricanes Katrina/Rita, and allows for maximum wave heights and robust mooring considerations. The MinDOC's global performance has been modeled experimentally and numerically with good correlation. VIM behavior was determined experimentally, and suppression is achieved by only straking the interior portion of the upper columns, which simplifies horizontal construction. The MinDOC was chosen for its payload, robustness and low motions. The mooring system is a relatively typical 3x4 semi-taught chain-polyester-chain system with a radius of approximately 6700 ft. The MinDOC hull form global motions are sufficiently low to permit the use of Top-Tensioned risers and Dry Trees. The low motions reduce riser stroke, which also reduced tensioner stiffness, and reduce the coupling impacts on the global motions. The low motions were achieved by a conscious effort to concurrently design the hull, risers, tensioners and mooring systems. Introduction MinDOC hull design was initiated in late 2006 with design and fabrication commencing nearly in parallel. The initial design site is for the Mirage field, located in Mississippi Canyon in Blocks 941/942. The location is near the edge of the shelf and the mooring system water depth varies from 3,822 ft in the north, to 4,288 ft in the south. The mooring pattern consists of 12 lines arranged in three bundles spaced 120° with each bundle having four lines grouped in two pairs. The platform bow orientation is 156 degrees. The leg numbering starts with the SE most line, counting clockwise around. Each mooring leg is chain-polyester-chain and consists of 5" R4 studless top chain, 9.75" Polyester and 5" R4 studless bottom chains. We conducted a randomised clinical trial to test the efficacy of an enhanced version of an intervention previously shown to reduce HIV sexual risk behaviours among men with severe mental illness. One-hundred-and-forty-nine subjects aged 18-59 years were randomly assigned to the experimental or control conditions. Sexual risk behaviours were assessed every three months for 12-months. The primary analysis compared experimental and control groups with respect to sexual risk behaviours with casual partners as measured by the Vaginal Episodes Equivalent (VEE) score. Additional analyses included comparison of VEE scores of those men sexually active in the three months prior to baseline and the proportion of condom-protected sexual acts with casual partners. There were no significant differences in sexual risk behaviours with casual partners between experimental and control subjects. Additional analyses demonstrated a trend toward sexual risk reduction at six months post-intervention (p=0.06) but not at 12 months. These results may reflect a lack of efficacy or a true reduction in risk that the trial was underpowered to detect at the 0.05-level. The popularity of 'Emotional Branding' and of ESP (Emotional Selling Proposition) was often based on the erroneous assumption that emotions can be simply 'glued' to brands by means of advertising. This assumption originated in the Classical Conditioning theory (you will recall Ivan Pavlov and his experiments with the salivating dogs). Today, this theory is largely obsolete, and thus abandoned as a means for modeling the human attribution of emotional significance. The unfortunate result of branding efforts based on these assumptions was the ineffectiveness of many branding campaigns. In other words, this kind of Emotional Branding is faking rather than making emotionally significant brands. It creates look-alikes. The symbolizations, the advertising, the packaging may evoke emotions and impress the untrained eye, but the brand will lack genuine feel appeal to its target consumers. Available evidence suggests that individuals with schizophrenia and other severe mental illnesses are at increased risk for homelessness in contemporary societies with diverse cultures and socioeconomic conditions. Yet the prevention of homelessness among individuals with mental illness has rarely been a focus of global health programs. We propose that it should be. In any given society, the overall risk of homelessness will reflect broad societal factors such as income inequality, housing, migration, economic conditions, and family ties. We strongly advocate for addressing these societal causes of homelessness. We also believe, however, that we need to develop special programs in parallel to prevent homelessness among individuals with severe mental illness. We use historical examples to draw attention to ways in which individuals with mental illness have been – and still are – explicitly excluded from societies. We suggest that this social exclusion requires us to take special measures to protect the rights of individuals with mental illness, and to develop programs to ensure they have access to basic necessities including a home. The form these measures take will of necessity vary widely according to local conditions. We describe mental health initiatives in two middle-income countries (Brazil and Argentina) which illustrate different approaches, and allude more briefly to efforts being made in other countries including low-income countries. Finally, we consider some of the efforts that are already being made by various international groups to further this agenda within the global health movement. more...

To the Editor: The anaerobic bacterium Clostridium botulinum produces the most potent food-related toxin known to humans.1 Although the effects of botulinum toxin are well documented, little is known about the effects of the toxin on the developing fetus. BackgroundThe transition from prison to community is difficult for prisoners with mental illness. Critical time intervention (CTI) is designed to provide intensive support to meet health, social care and resettlement needs through close working between client and key worker pre, and up to 6 weeks post, release.ObjectivesTo establish whether or not CTI is effective in (1) improving engagement of discharged male prisoners who have mental illness with community mental health teams (CMHTs) and (2) providing practical support with housing, finance and re-establishing social networks.Trial designA multicentre, parallel-group randomised controlled trial, with follow-up at 6 weeks and at 6 and 12 months. A subset of prisoners and case managers participated in a complementary qualitative study.SettingEight English prisons.ParticipantsOne hundred and fifty adult male prisoners, convicted or remanded, cared for by mental health in-reach teams and diagnosed with severe mental illness, with a discharge date within 6 months of the point of recruitment.InterventionParticipants were randomised to either the intervention or the control (treatment as usual). The intervention group was assigned a case manager who assessed mental and physical health before and following release, made appropriate links to health, housing and financial services and supported the re-establishment of family/peer contact.OutcomeThe primary outcome measure was engagement with a CMHT 6 weeks post discharge. Secondary outcomes included contact with mental health services at 6 and 12 months. A health economic evaluation was undertaken using service contact at the follow-up time points. We were unable to assess the intervention’s effect on reoffending and longer-term health-care use because of study delays.ResultsOne hundred and fifty prisoners were recruited: 72 were randomised to the intervention and 78 were randomised to the control. Engagement with teams at 6 weeks was 53% for the intervention group compared with 27% for the control group [95% confidence interval (CI) 0.13% to 0.78%;p = 0.012]. At 6 months’ follow-up, intervention participants showed continued increase in engagement with teams compared with control participants (95% CI 0.12% to 0.89%;p = 0.029); there were no significant differences at 12 months. Increased engagement resulted in higher levels of service use and costs for the intervention than for the control. Qualitative data showed the intervention group reporting better continuity of care and improved access to services.ConclusionThe intervention significantly improved contact with services at 6 weeks, although at a higher cost than the control. This is important as, in the days and weeks following release, recently released individuals are at a particularly high risk of suicide and drug overdose.
