Imbalance between exogenous damaging agents and protective factors in the gastro-duodenum tract can lead to peptic ulcer disease. Herbal medicines could be an effective treatment to human gastric ulcers. This study aimed to investigate the protective effect of AGAR-HP hard capsules on cysteamine-induced gastric-duodenal ulcers in experimental rats. The animals were divided into five treatment groups: Group 1 (control) and group 2 (model) were treated with distilled water, group 3 received esomeprazole at 10 mg/kg, group 4 received AGAR-HP at 0.074 g/kg, and group 5 received AGAR-HP at 0.221 g/kg. All the rats were treated for seven consecutive days. On day 7, peptic-duodenal ulcer were induced by oral cysteamine 400 mg/kg. The number of rats with the ulcer, the number of ulcers per rat, and the ulcer index of each group were recorded. Compared to group 2, AGAR-HP at high dose reduced the mean number of ulcers and the ulcer index under macroscopic and microscopic examinations. These parameters also decreased in the group of AGAR-HP low doses compared to the cysteamine control group. AGAR-HP hard capsules showed some protective effect on cysteamine-induced gastric ulcers in experimental rats.

This study aims to assess the acute and sub-chronic oral toxicity of “Tri 02” powder in experimental animals. According to World Health Organization Guidance, acute toxicity study was conducted using Swiss mice. LD50 was determined by Litchfield-Wilcoxon method, and sub-chronic toxicity of “Tri 02” at two doses (2.4 g/kg b.w/day and 7.2 g/kg b.w/day) was assessed in Wistar rats for four uninterrupted weeks. Abnormal behavior, toxic symptoms, and death were observed for 7 consecutive days to assess the effects of acute toxicity. The general behavior of the rats was observed daily, and their body weight was recorded weekly. Hematological analysis and biochemical analysis were conducted before treatment, and at 2 and 4 weeks of treatment. Macroscopic examination and histopathological examination of several organs were conducted at the end of the treatment period. The results suggested that “Tri 02” at the highest dose used for mice (187.5 g/kg b.w) did not show acute toxicity and the LD50 was determined. In terms of the sub-chonic toxicity test, after oral administration of “Tri 02” powder, hematological parameters, hepato-renal functions and microscopic images of liver and kidney at both doses were similar to the control group. In conclusion, “Tri 02” powder did not produce the acute and subchronic oral toxicity in experimental animals.

"Corpus" is a systematic collection of digital, authentic language data in written or oral form. In the area of German as a foreign language, learner corpora, which are defined as the collection of language products of learners, play a major role in research and teaching. At the Hanoi University in 2017, the project which started to set up a Vietnamese learner corpus has been completed since September 2021. The corpus includes written texts of students from the German department at Hanoi University. This paper introduces the corpus and presents how useful this text collection has been for teaching and research.

This study was performed to investigate the effects of An Tri Khang (ATK) hard capsule on scopolamine-induced memory impairment in experimental animals. The effects on memory of oral administration ATK were evaluated on scopolamine-induced memory impairment in experimental animals. The memory improvement effects were conducted on 2 experimental models: the Morris water maze (MWM) and the Multi-T maze (MTM). In the MWM model, ATK significantly reduced the time spent and pathlength to platform, increased the percentage of time swimming in platform’s quadrant. Swiss mice performed the MTM with shorter in both the time spent and the pathlength to the goal box (p < 0.01). Both doses of ATK attenuated scopolamine-mediated impairment of memory. ATK has potential effects on memory improvement. It is suggested that further clinical trials should be undertaken to have thorough assessment on human.

Assessment of toxicities of DA.AMLODEPON HVD hard capsule on experimental animals. The acute toxicity of DA.AMLODEPON HVD was assessed on Swiss mice according to World Health Organization Guidance, and LD50 determination according to the method of Litchfield – Wilcoxon. The sub-chronic toxicity study of DA.AMLODEPON HVD at two doses (0.42 g/kg/day and 1.26g/kg/day) was conducted in rats for four consecutive weeks. After administration, general conditions and the body weight of rats were evaluated. Blood samples were collected for analyzing serum parameters before treatment (T0), second week (T1), and fourth week (T2). Histopathological analysis of livers and kidneys was observed at the end of the experiment. The results revealed that mice were taken up to a maximum dose of 39.15 g/kg with no symptoms of acute toxicity, LD50 of DA.AMLODEPON HVD has not been determined. The sub-chronic toxicity study at two doses did not change the body weight of rats, general conditions. The parameters for structures and functions of livers and kidneys and microscopic of the livers and kidneys are in a normal range during the study period.

The purpose of this research was to evaluate the acute and subchronic toxicities of An Phu Khang capsules through oral administration in experimental animals. The acute toxicity was determined by the method of Litchfield Wilcoxon in Swiss mice. The subchronic toxicity was evaluated by the recommendation of WHO in Wistar rats at these doses of 0.54 g/kg b.w/day (equal to recommended human dose) and 1.62 g/kg b.w/day (3 times as high as recommended human dose) in 4 consecutive weeks. As a result, An Phu Khang capsules at the highest dose used for mice (36.29 g/kg b.w) did not show acute toxicity in mice. In terms of the subchronic toxicity test, after oral administration of An Phu Khang capsules, hematological parameters, hepato-renal functions, and microscopic images of liver and kidney at both doses were unchanged compared with the control group. In conclusion, An Phu Khang with both doses 0.54 g/kg b.w/day and 1.62 g/kg b.w/day did not produce acute and subchronic toxicities in Swiss mice and Wistar rats.

“Kien nao dan” (KND) tablet is composed of 13 traditional medicines that may has preventive and effective treatment of cerebral ischemia. However, there are no scientific reports of its toxicological properties which guarantee of the safety its usage treatment. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the sub-chronic toxicity of KND tablet on rats through oral administration. The sub-chronic toxicity was evaluated by the recommendation of WHO in Wistar rats at doses of 0.72 g/kg/day (equal to recommended human dose) and 2.16 g/kg/day (3 times as high as recommended human dose) for 8 consecutive weeks. In the evaluation of sub-chronic toxicity, there were no behavioral and physiological changes or signs of toxicity. The result of the hematological and biological parameters after administration of KND tablets showed no change. The histopathologic analysis of livers and kidneys indicated that no significant differences were observed between the exposed and unexposed rat groups. In conclusion, “Kien nao dan” tablets did not produce sub-chronic toxicity in Wistar rats.

The sub-chronic toxicity was evaluated by the WHO recommendation in Wistar rats at doses of 0.72 g/kg/day (equal to recommended human dose) and 2.16 g/kg/day (3 times as high as recommended human dose). In the sub-chronic experimental group, the PTD was administered orally daily for 8 consecutive weeks. In the evaluation of sub-chronic toxicity, there were no behavioral and physiological change or sign of toxicity. The result of the hematological and biological parameters after administration of PTD tablets showed no change. The histopathology analysis of livers and kidneys indicated that no significant difference was observed between the exposed and unexposed rat groups. In conclusion, “Phong thap dan” tablets did not produce sub-chronic toxicity in Wistar rats.

Dyslipidemia is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Polyherbal formulation is a traditional therapeutic strategy used to treat dyslipidemia over many years of tradition. The aim of this study was designed to evaluate the effects of Hamo NK hard capsule on endogenous dyslipidemia and exogenous dyslipidemia experimental animal model. In endogenous hyperlipidemia model, mice were previously treated by Hamo NK hard capsule, and intraperitoneally injected by poloxamer - 407 to induce hyperlipidemia. Rats were oral administration of oil - cholesterol mixture and Hamo NK for 4 consecutive weeks (exogenous dyslipidemia). Parameters of serum lipid were determined. Hamo NK ameliorated the elevation of serum total cholesterol, Non - HDL - cholesterol at the daily dose of 1.5g/kg b.w (p < 0.05). Also, there was no signicant difference in increase on high - density lipoprotein cholesterol levels and decrease triglyceride levels between the groups. Hamo NK at two doses of 0.25g/kg b.w and 0.75g/kg b.w significantly reduced serum LDL - C levels compared to the cholesterol control group. Hamo NK hard capsule affected on serum lipid modulations in dyslipidemia models.

This study evaluated the effects of Hamo NK hard capsule on athresclerosis using experimental atherosclerosis model. NewZealand White rabbits were fed a high-fat diet (HFD) containing cholesterol and peanut oil. The animals received oral administration of HFD and Hamo NK hard capsule at two doses of 0.126 and 0.378 g/kg bw/day for 8 consecutive weeks. Blood samples were collected for analyis of biochemical parameters at before treatment, week 4 and week 8. Histopathology assessments of the aortic artery and liver were carried out at the end of the experiment. Hamo NK was effective in reducing serum triglyceride level after 8 weeks of the experiment. In addition, Hamo NK at two doses of 0.126 g/kg b.w and 0.378 g/kg b.w for 8 consecutive weeks did not affect the cholesterol, LDL-C and HDL-C concentrations induced by a HFD. Hamo NK at the dose of 0.126 g/kg bw/day was not only able to decrease significant aortic surface lesions but also capable of managing atherosclerosis plaques formation in aorta; whereas theses activities were not notiaceable at the dose of 0.378 g/kg b.w.

In this study, the toxicities of “Da day An Chau” tablets (DDAC) were assessed on experimental animals. To evaluate the acute toxicity on Swiss mice according to World Health Organization Guidance and to determine LD50 refer to the method of Litchfield – Wilcoxon. The subchronic toxicity study of DDAC at two doses (0.58 g/kg/day and 1.74 g/kg/day) was conducted in rats for four consecutive weeks. Evaluation of general conditions and weight of rats during the study period. Rat’s blood was taken for hematological and biochemical evaluations. The livers and kidneys microscopes were evaluated at the end of the experiment. The result revealed that mice were taken up to a maximum dose of 25.71 g/kg with no symptoms of acute toxicity; LD50 of DDAC has not been determined. At two doses, the subchronic toxicity study did not change rats’ body weight, hematological, biochemical parameters, and microscopic of the livers and kidneys during the study period.

In humid parts of the world, waterlogging is a major environmental stress limiting the yield of soybean and its root development is an important indicator of tolerance. Recently, quantitative trait loci (QTLs) for this trait were detected on the chromosome 12 of soybean through the analyses of recombinant inbred lines (RILs) developed from a cross between a hypoxia-sensitive cultivar, Tachinagaha, and a tolerant landrace, Iyodaizu. In this study, in order to get a detailed understanding of these QTLs, NIL-9-4-5, a near-isogenic line (NIL), was selected from Tachinagaha/Iyodaizu BC6F2 population through marker assisted selection (MAS). NIL-9-4-5 was then tested for yield performance under waterlogging conditions exposed at the seedling stage. The test was conducted in a greenhouse in 2015 and 2018 at the Experimental Farm of Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan. Soybean plants were grown in pots containing loam soil. From six days after germination, seedlings were grown for 7 days under two treatments: drained (control) and waterlogging conditions. Pots were kept in containers where the water level was maintained at 2.0 cm depth from bottom in the control and at 2.0 cm above the soil surface in waterlogged condition. Experimental results consistently showed that seed yields of both Iyodaizu and NIL-9-4-5 were not reduced under waterlogging. Compared to Tachinagaha, NIL-9-4-5 showed higher root development and increased seed yield under waterlogging. These indicate that the tested QTLs are able to increase yield by stimulating root development under waterlogging.

Radial Basis Function (RBF) neuron network is being applied widely in multivariate function regression. However, selection of neuron number for hidden layer and definition of suitable centre in order to produce a good regression network are still open problems which have been researched by many people. This article proposes to apply grid equally space nodes as the centre of hidden layer. Then, the authors use k-nearest neighbour method to define the value of regression function at the center and an interpolation RBF network training algorithm with equally spaced nodes to train the network. The experiments show the outstanding efficiency of regression function when the training data has Gauss white noise.

Interpolation radial basis function (RBF) networks have been widely used in various applications. The output layer weights are usually determined by minimizing the sum-of-squares error or by directly solving interpolation equations. When the number of interpolation nodes is large, these methods are time consuming, difficult to control the balance between the convergence rate and the generality, and difficult to reach a high accuracy. In this paper, we propose a two-phase algorithm for training interpolation RBF networks with bell-shaped basis functions. In the first phase, the width parameters of basis functions are determined by taking into account the tradeoff between the error and the convergence rate. Then, the output layer weights are determined by finding the fixed point of a given contraction transformation. The running time of this new algorithm is relatively short and the balance between the convergence rate and the generality is easily controlled by adjusting the involved parameters, while the error is made as small as desired. Also, its running time can be further enhanced thanks to the possibility to parallelize the proposed algorithm. Finally, its efficiency is illustrated by simulations.

There is, hitherto, no efficient method to interpolate multivariate functions, for especially dynamic problems in which new training data are often added in real-time. In order to construct an efficient method, this paper considers local interpolation RBF networks, where artificial neural network approach and instance-based learning are combined. In these networks, training data are clustered into relatively small sub-clusters and on each sub-cluster, an interpolation RBF network is trained by using a new algorithm recently proposed by the authors; it is a two-phase algorithm for training interpolation RBF networks using Gaussian basis functions and it has the complexity O(N²), where N is the number of nodes. The training time of this new architecture is effectively short and its generality is superior to global RBF networks. Furthermore its universal approximation property is proven. Especially, this new architecture can be efficiently used for dynamic training.
