This study compares the short- and long-term relationships between house prices and bank credit in developed and Emerging Market Economies. This fact is an essential issue because most financing is facilitated by bank credit. Using quarterly data from 22 developed and six Emerging Market Economies and the panel autoregressive distributed lag model method, this study found that real house prices are the prominent factor of bank credit. Moreover, the magnitude of house prices and gross domestic product relationship with domestic bank credit is considerably greater in Emerging Market Economies than in developed nations. Meanwhile, the foreign interest rate on bank credit is nearly four times greater in Emerging Market Economies. Further, the exchange rate-credit relationship is positive for developed countries, whereas negative for Emerging Market Economies. Therefore, authorities maintaining financial stability must pay close attention to real house price dynamics. Moreover, Emerging Market Economies must also consider the exchange rate and foreign interest rates in managing credit growth.

Introduction: Down syndrome (DS) is one of the many genetic syndromes commonly confronted by pediatricians. These people commonly share a few features which include a low level of muscle tone (hypotonia), learning disabilities, and abnormalities of the cranium and facial parts. Aims and Objectives: To assess the pre and postnatal knowledge, of parents with Down syndrome children. Place and Duration of study: This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted in Shifa International Hospital (SIH), by Final year medical students, in association with the Cytogenetics Department. between December 2019 to September 2021 Material and Methods: All the chidren diagnosed with Down Syndrome at the SIH and their parents were invited to participate in our study. Convenience sampling was used depending solely on the number of parents who had accepted our invitation. A total sample size of 35 was included, of which 15 agreed to participate. A detailed questionnaire having both close ended and open questions in English and Urdu was filled out by those parents who consented. Data was entered and analysed using SPSS version 24.0. pvalue ?0.05 was taken as significant. Results: Our results showed that 11 of the 15 DS children i.e., 73.3% were male and 4 out of 15 i.e., 26.6% were females. None of these children had siblings with the same disorder. 13 of the 15 cases (86.6%) were diagnosed post- natally only 2 cases (13.3%) pre-natally. All the cases i.e., 100% were diagnosed by a pediatrician and none were diagnosed by an obstetrician. Surprisingly increasing age of either parent seemed to increase the incidence of DS offspring. 60.0% (9 of the 15) of parents did not know the condition could be diagnosed prenatally. While 10 of 15 (66.6%) of them were aware of its general complications. Answering open ended questions parents identified the lack of awareness, special educational institutes, and presence of communication gap between them and doctors as some of the factors that hindered the welfare of DS children. Conclusion: Only one parent knew about DS complications pre-natally and only a few were aware that a pre-natal diagnosis could be formed. Postnatal knowledge of parents was sketchy also, especially regarding the future complications faced by DS children, Parents critically observed insufficient public awareness, societal taboos, paucity of local DS data and prenatal medical DS training, and consequently lack of govermnnental support required by special needs DS children in our country.

Abstract Floods are both complex and destructive, and in most parts of the world cause injury, death, loss of agricultural land, and social disruption. Flood susceptibility (FS) maps are used by land‐use managers and land owners to identify areas that are at risk from flooding and to plan accordingly. This study uses machine learning ensembles to produce objective and reliable FS maps for the Haraz watershed in northern Iran. Specifically, we test the ability of the support vector regression (SVR), together with linear kernel (LK), base classifier (BC), and hyper‐parameter optimization (HPO), to identify flood‐prone areas in this watershed. We prepared a map of 201 past floods to predict future floods. Of the 201 flood events, 151 (75%) were used for modeling and 50 (25%) were used for validation. Based on the relevant literature and our field survey of the study area, 10 effective factors were selected and prepared for flood zoning. The results show that three of the 10 factors are most important for predicting flood‐sensitive areas, specifically and in order of importance, slope, distance to the river and river. Additionally, the SVR‐HPO model, with area under the curve values of 0.986 and 0.951 for the training and testing phases, outperformed the other two tested models.

Undoubtedly, coherence is what gives a text its sense of unity and distinguishes it from writings that are dispersed. Its function is to connect two parts of a text and make them continuous so that the reader or listener can identify missing elements that are required for the text's interpretation. Reference, replacement, deletion, conjunctions or connections (for grammatical cohesion), and repetition and convergence (for lexical cohesion) are some examples of cohesion-enhancing methods. At various levels, the linguistic study can concentrate on written legal texts (letters, papers, invoices, and files) as well as spoken legal texts (such as courtroom talk). One of the transdisciplinary areas between linguistics and legal theory is legal linguistics, often known as forensic linguistics. Repetition is a linguistic property that may be used to measure text coherence. The current study looks into Persian legal bills' repeating patterns from a linguistic perspective. Linguists examine court evidence, records, offenders' specific terminology, speaking patterns, and writing styles in legal situations to provide expert opinions on the practical analysis of legal materials. The stylistic phenomenon of information repetition is one of the problems that is frequently found in legal documents, especially bills. 40 bills that were filed in court served as the source of the data, which was then qualitatively assessed. The examples reveal that there are two basic types of repetition in the printed language of the bills: repetition that is both unnecessary and beneficial. In the first group, the legal documents under discussion contain repetitive phrases and extraneous material that are regarded as filler. Two subclasses of grammatical and textual repeats make up the second group. The requirement of Persian language standards has led to the formation of required grammatical repeats, a repeat of the same term, a repeat of synonyms, a repetition of opposing words, a repetition of differentiation, and a repetition of emphasis are a few examples of contextual repetitions that vary based on the text and legal writing style. Rewriting the content, extending parallelisms, using various limitations, and not paying attention to punctuation, complicated phrases, and multipart verbs are only a few of the unique qualities of the writings under study. The motives for emphasis, the worry that one would forget the audience if one speaks for too long, and the need to retain the main points are all connected to the repetition of information in bills. Because of this, the repetition of information in these texts plays a useful and effective function and facilitates the communication of the core idea.

Background: To assess the correlation between caffeine consumption and its effect on the academic performance of medical students of Shifa College of Medicine, Islamabad, Pakistan. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted in Shifa College of Medicine and its affiliated hospital for about three months from 10th June, 2019 till 15th August 2019. Second-year medical students actively took part in it. We used convenient sampling; a total of 101 students eagerly participated in it. We used a detailed self-administered questionnaire in which simplified questions with four to five options were given. Participants marked their responses to the provided options. A correlation was noticed between their Locomotive System and Gastrointestinal System modular exam scores with the questionnaire response. Data were analyzed by SPSS version 23. Results: Out of 101 participants, 51.5% were males, and 48.5% were females. About 77.2% of participants were consuming caffeine in any form, while 22.8% never consumed caffeine. Those who consumed moderate (200-400 mg) caffeine in any way performed better in the Locomotive System Module with a mean score of 71.88%. Simultaneously, those who consumed a lot more than 400 mg of caffeine scored better in the Gastrointestinal Tract Module with a mean score of 76.50%. Conclusion: By conducting this study, we identified that caffeine consumption is surprisingly high in medical students. The correlation between caffeine consumption and its effect on medical students’ performance is not significant. Key Words: Academic performance, Caffeine consumption, Medical students. Ultrasound is a first line imaging modality for the evaluation of female pelvic pain. Pelvic pain constitutes one of the most common reasons for presentation to the emergency department with increasing use of point of care ultrasound. Infrequently, point of care or formal ultrasound evaluation may lead to misdiagnosis of extraovarian disease. This can have serious consequences, especially if an extraovarian malignancy is mistaken for a normal ovary or an ovary with a benign process. We present a case of a 41-year-old female who presented to the emergency department for a chief complaint of pelvic pain and vaginal bleeding. Transvaginal ultrasound demonstrated a left adnexal mass, later characterized as a sigmoid colon cancer on MRI and pathology, simulating ovarian echotexture with peripheral hypoechoic components resembling follicles. This article will review the literature of various cases of extraovarian pathology misidentified as ovarian processes and highlight the importance of considering these extraovarian mimickers to prevent potential morbidity and mortality of a missed diagnosis.

Partial segmental thrombosis of the corpus cavernosum (PSTCC) is a rare disease involving thrombosis at the proximal corpus cavernosum. We describe the case of a 39-year-old African American man presenting with right groin pain who was diagnosed with PSTCC. Classic sonographic, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) features were present. After conservative treatment with systemic anticoagulation, he had no long-term adverse effects or erectile dysfunction. Although various risk factors for PSTCC have been reported, this is the first documented case associated with recreational use of a phosphodiesterase inhibitor.
