O objetivo do estudo foi contextualizar a rede de políticas locais, de um município da fronteira oeste do Rio Grande do Sul, relacionada à Educação em Saúde, ao cuidado e qualidade de vida do aluno adolescente por meio da percepção dos gestores. Estudo exploratório e descritivo, desenvolvido com aplicação de entrevista estruturada aos gestores versando sobre a rede de políticas locais, benefícios, Educação em Saúde, qualidade de vida e ações realizadas para o adolescente. Para a análise dos dados foi usada a Análise de Discurso, resultando na formação de categorias de discurso a posteriori. Os resultados relacionam-se à percepção de uma rede multifacetada que pode proporcionar benefícios ao adolescente. Dessa forma, a percepção dos gestores sobre a rede de políticas evidencia o lugar de fala desses em contextos diferentes: quem desenvolve a gestão de políticas no território do município percebe uma rede em funcionamento, que necessita ser melhorada; quem atua no desenvolvimento das políticas, no território da escola, percebe a rede não funcionando, que as ações direcionadas ao adolescente são realizadas de forma focal, fragmentadas e setorializadas com possibilidade de refletir em falta de cuidado e, na dificuldade de integração de ações que gerem a qualidade de vida ao adolescente.

Abstract Many aspects of the ecology, evolution and social behavior of wild-living primates remain un-explored and require further investigation. While long-term field studies are crucial for addressing conservation concerns for many primates’ species, acquiring the necessary data is often challenging, often due to difficulties in locating study groups. Radio-telemetry has significantly facilitated the study of primates and other animals living in tropical forests. However, there are important practical challenges in the process of capturing and releasing animals after placement of telemetry collars. In this study, we report guidelines and considerations for capturing and collaring wild capuchin monkeys, Sapajus nigritus cucullatus, in the Atlantic Forest of Argentina. Our ultimate goal is to contribute to making captures safer, preventing harm and stress to animals when using radio-telemetry in monitoring strategies for conservation of this primate species. These methods can be useful for researchers using field capture and radio-telemetry for monitoring groups or populations of wild primates, specifically wild Sapajus.

O objetivo do estudo foi descrever e analisar a percepção dos usuários e profissionais de uma equipe de Saúde da Família em relação à oferta de grupos como estratégia para promover a Saúde Mental na Atenção Primária à Saúde (APS). Trata-se de uma pesquisa descritiva, exploratória e qualitativa realizada em uma Unidade Básica de Saúde (UBS) de Santa Maria, RS. Utilizou-se a análise de conteúdo e cinco categorias emergiram: 1) APS centrada no sujeito e na sua comunidade; 2) Acolhimento e construção de vínculo; 3) Efetivação da promoção de Saúde Mental em dispositivos comunitários e territoriais; 4) Cuidado em Saúde Mental: construindo caminhos e 5) Trabalho em rede: uma expectativa. Os grupos despontaram como potenciais promotores de Saúde Mental na APS. Por enfatizar o componente socioafetivo e a longitudinalidade do cuidado, eles favorecem o bem-estar físico e mental dos usuários, fortalecendo sua autonomia e independência.

Abstract Background Public open spaces (POS) can offer various resources to promote visitation and engagement in moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA). However, the influence of seasonal variations and specific meteorological conditions on this relationship remains unclear. Thus, this study aims to investigate the effect of seasonal variations and specific meteorological elements on different days of the week and times of day on POS use and POS-based MVPA in the Brazilian context. Methods In 2018, repeated measurements carried out in Southern Brazil used a systematic observation to identify the presence of users in the POS and their engagement in MVPA. The meteorological elements (temperature, thermal sensation, and relative humidity), as well as seasonality (summer, autumn, winter, and spring), were aggregated into the observations. Results A total of 19,712 systematic observations were conducted across nine POS. During these observations, a total of 59,354 users were identified. Out of theses, 39,153 (66.0%) were engaged in POS-based MVPA. The presence of users was found to be more frequent during the spring season (38.7%) and on weekends (ranging from 37.6 to 50.1% across seasons). Additionally, user presence was higher in the late afternoon (ranging from 36.4 to 58.2% across seasons) and at higher temperatures with lower relative humidity (p-value

The diterpene cafestol represents the most potent cholesterol-elevating compound known in the human diet, being responsible for more than 80% of the effect of coffee on serum lipids, with a mechanism still not fully clarified. In the present study, the interaction of cafestol and 16-O-methylcafestol with the stabilized ligand-binding domain (LBD) of the Farnesoid X Receptor was evaluated by fluorescence and circular dichroism. Fluorescence quenching was observed with both cafestol and 16-O-methylcafestol due to an interaction occurring in the close environment of the tryptophan W454 residue of the protein, as confirmed by docking and molecular dynamics. A conformational change of the protein was also observed by circular dichroism, particularly for cafestol. These results provide evidence at the molecular level of the interactions of FXR with the coffee diterpenes, confirming that cafestol can act as an agonist of FXR, causing an enhancement of the cholesterol level in blood serum.

Introdução e objetivos: A Serra do Itapetinga abriga um dos mais importantes remanescentes de Floresta Atlântica da Macrometrópole Paulista, a região mais populosa do Brasil. No contexto do tratamento monográfico de Nothoscordum para o país, uma nova espécie com distribuição atual restrita à Serra do Itapetinga foi identificada, e é aqui descrita e ilustrada. M&M: O reconhecimento da nova espécie está baseado tanto em dados morfológicos como moleculares e citogenéticos. As descrições e comparações morfológicas foram feitas a partir da análise de materiais vivos ou depositados nas coleções dos herbários consultados. Com base em marcadores nuclear (ITS) e plastidiais (ndhF e matK) uma filogenia molecular incluindo a espécie descrita é apresentada. O seu estado de conservação foi avaliado de acordo com diretrizes e critérios da IUCN. Resultados: Nothoscordum itapetinga apresenta filamentos estaminais não fundidos na base, uma característica típica da seção Nothoscordum. Seu posicionamento nesta seção também é suportado por dados moleculares e o número cromossômico básico. São fornecidos seu número cromossômico, fórmula cariotípica e conteúdo total de DNA. Comentários sobre sua distribuição, hábitat e conservação são apresentados. Conclusões: Com base nos dados disponíveis, a nova espécie é considerada Criticamente em Perigo de extinção. As localidades de ocorrência sofreram por décadas com os impactos decorrentes do uso intensivo e não ordenado, além de incêndios florestais, e que alteraram parte de sua estrutura e composição florística. Somados aos esforços para a localização de registros adicionais, ações urgentes de proteção e conservação são consideradas fundamentais para garantir a sobrevivência dos acessos remanescentes de N. itapetinga.

O objetivo deste ensaio é refletir sobre a Alfabetização Científica em saúde ao aluno do Ensino Médio. O estudo utiliza a revisão bibliográfica narrativa e a análise descritiva para aprofundamento teórico das discussões. Os resultados traduzem a relevância da Alfabetização Científica em saúde, especificamente a Educação em Saúde como forma de instrumentalizar e criar cultura de saúde para escolhas e decisões pautadas pela ciência, com reflexo na qualidade de vida desse aluno. Outro aspecto é a formação inicial e continuada dos professores, levando em consideração a necessidade de mudança de currículo e inovação no ensino de Ciência, inclusivo e acessível.

Objectives Patients with connective tissue diseases can develop interstitial lung disease (ILD), leading to a progressive fibrosing ILD (PF-ILD) phenotype in some cases. We aimed to investigate the occurrence of PF-ILD in idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIMs), and factors potentially predicting this phenotype. Secondary aims were to assess the radiological pattern and factors associated with IIMs-ILD.Methods Patients with IIMs from our multicentric prospective cohort were retrospectively evaluated. Data were recorded at IIMs and ILD diagnosis, and during follow-up. Patients with ILD were classified according to the predominant high-resolution CT (HRCT) pattern: non-specific interstitial pneumonia (NSIP), usual interstitial pneumonia (UIP) and organising pneumonia (OP). PF-ILD was defined according to the 2022 American Thoracic Society (ATS), European Respiratory Society (ERS), Japanese Respiratory Society (JRS) and Latin American Thoracic Society (ALAT) guidelines. Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed to identify factors associated to ILD and to PF-ILD.Results Of 253 patients with IIMs, 125 (49%) had ILD: 99 (78%) at IIMs diagnosis and 26 (22%) during follow-up (21/26 within 5 years). Multivariate analysis identified anti-Jo-1, anti-MDA5, anti-Ro52, high score on manual muscle test, mechanic’s hands and Raynaud’s phenomenon as independently associated with ILD. The predominant HRCT pattern was NSIP (50% of patients), followed by UIP (28%) and OP (22%). At 1-year follow-up, PF-ILD occurred in 18% of IIMs-ILD. PF-ILD was predicted by anti-MDA5, heliotropic rash, xerostomia and xerophthalmia at univariate but not at multivariate analysis.Conclusion Patients with IIM should be carefully screened for ILD at IIMs diagnosis and yearly during follow-up. All patients with IIMs-ILD should be carefully monitored to capture ILD progression since a consistent proportion of them are expected to develop PF-ILD.

O blockchain e os smart contracts têm sido apresentados como soluções inovadoras para diversas questões, em especial, para as formas de contratar e para os modelos de negócio. O blockchain é uma rede descentralizada em que as informações registradas adquirem imutabilidade. Essa tecnologia viabilizou a efetivação dos smart contracts, que, apesar do nome, não são contratos propriamente ditos, mas, softwares capazes de autoexecutar o que foi previamente acordado entre as partes, garantindo eficácia aos acordos celebrados, segurança e redução de custos. Ambas as tecnologias têm se destacado pelas inúmeras vantagens que apresentam, tornando pertinente a reflexão sobre a substituição dos métodos contratuais tradicionais perante o novo cenário tecnológico. Mediante pesquisa exploratória e descritiva, buscou-se identificar os fatores desencadeadores da natureza da tecnologia blockchain, com a realização de apontamentos acerca das principais características constatadas. Os procedimentos utilizados incluíram a pesquisa bibliográfica e a documental, com o objetivo de examinar os reflexos na sociedade contemporânea. Como conclusões, pode-se destacar que os smart contracts não são propriamente contratos, mas softwares, que fazem cumprir e executam os acordos registrados entre as partes, por meio da plataforma blockchain, desenvolvidos para, garantindo o enforcement dos acordos, formalizar e assegurar os relacionamentos digitais, frequentemente utilizados, mas que se tornarão a regra no futuro.

Double-outlet left ventricle (DOLV) is an abnormal ventriculo-arterial connection characterized by the origin of both great arteries from the morphological left ventricle. The aim of our paper is to describe the morphological and imaging features of DOLV and to assess the prevalence of the associated malformations and their surgical outcomes. METHODS From 2011 to 2022, we retrospectively reviewed the electronic case records of patients diagnosed with DOLV at the Bambino Gesu Children’s Hospital. A systematic search was developed in MEDLINE, Web of Science, and EMBASE databases to identify reports assessing the morphology and outcomes of DOLV between 1975 and 2023. RESULTS: Over a median follow-up of 9.9 years (IQR 7.8–11.7 y), four cases of DOLV were identified at our institution. Two patients were diagnosed with (S,D,D) DOLV subaortic VSD and pulmonary stenosis (PS): one patient had (S,D,D) DOLV with doubly committed VSD and hypoplastic right ventricle, and another patient had (S,D,L) DOLV with subaortic VSD and PS (malposition type). Pulmonary stenosis was the most commonly associated lesion (75%). LITERATURE REVIEW: After systematic evaluation, a total of 12 reports fulfilled the eligibility criteria and were included in our analysis. PS or right ventricular outflow tract obstruction was the most commonly associated lesion (69%, 95% CI 62–76%). The most common locations of VSD were subaortic (pooled prevalence: 75%, 95% CI 68–81), subpulmonary (15%, 95% CI 10–21), and doubly committed (7%, 95% CI 4–12). The position of the great arteries showed that d-transposition of the aorta was present in 128 cases (59% 95% CI 42–74), and l-transposition was present in 77 cases (35%, 95% CI 29–43).

Background and aims: Treatment of hepatitis C with direct antiviral agents (DAA) is associated with almost 95% of sustained virological response. However, some patients need retreatment. In Brazil, it should be done according to the Ministry of Health guidelines, frequently updated to include newly available drugs. This study aimed to conduct a national survey about the characteristics and outcomes of retreatment of hepatitis C in previously non-responders to DAAs. Patients and methods: Institutions from all over the country were invited to participate in a national registry for retreatment, including information about clinical and epidemiological characteristics of the patients, type and outcomes of retreatment regimens. Only patients previously treated with interferon-free regimens were included. Results: As previous treatments the distribution was: SOF/DCV (56%), SOF/SIM (22%), 3D (11%), SOF/LED (6%) and SOF/RBV (5%). For retreatment the most frequently used drugs were SOF/GP (46%), SOF/DCV (23%) and SOF/VEL (11%). From 159 patients retreated, 132/159 (83%) had complete information in the registry and among them only seven patients were non-responders (SVR of 94.6%). All retreatments were well tolerated, without any serious adverse events or interruptions. Conclusion: The retreatment of patients previously non-responders to DAAs was associated with high rate of SVR in this sample of Brazilian patients. This finding allows us to conclude that the retreatment options available in the public health system in Brazil are effective and safe and are an important component of the strategy of elimination of hepatitis C in our country.

Several studies have examined the prognostic performance of therapeutic groups (TG) and early responses to therapy on positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) in children and adolescents with classical Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL); less research has been performed on molecular parameters at diagnosis. The aim of the present study was to devise a scoring system based on the TG criteria for predicting freedom from progression (FFP) in 133 patients: 63.2% males; 14 years median age (interquartile range (IQR) 11.9–15.1); with cHL (108 nodular sclerosis (NS) subtype) treated according to the AIEOP LH-2004 protocol; and median 5.55 (IQR 4.09–7.93) years of follow-up. CHL progressed or relapsed in 37 patients (27.8%), the median FFP was 0.89 years (IQR = 0.59–1.54), and 14 patients (10.5%) died. The FPR (final prognostic rank) model associates the biological HLA-G SNP 3027C/A (numerical point assigned (pt) = 1) and absolute neutrophil count (>8 × 109/L, pt = 2) as variables with the TG (TG3, pt = 3). Results of FPR score analyses for FFP suggested that FPR model (Kaplan–Meier curves, log-rank test for trends) was better than the TG model. At diagnosis, high-risk patients classified at FPR rank 4 and 5 identified 18/22 patients who relapse during the follow-up.

Background: Behavioural and autonomic dysregulation of emotion is reported in anxiety and depression. However, most experiments have focused on emotional stimuli presented in central vision (CV), although affective saliency has been observed in peripheral vision (PV). Methods: Unpleasant (U), pleasant (P) and neutral (N) pictures from the International Affective Picture System were presented to 40 participants at three eccentricities (CV: 0°; PV: -12 and 12°). Anxious and depressive symptomatology was evaluated with STAI and BDI scores respectively. Participants had to categorise pictures on their emotional content while skin conductance (SC), heart rate (HR), and pupillary responses (PR) were recorded. Results: Emotional pictures were better categorised than neutral ones in both CV and PV. Unpleasant pictures were better categorised than pleasant ones in CV but not in PV. An opposite pattern of autonomic arousal (SC, HR, PR) was observed between CV and PV. In CV, a response bias was associated with higher SC to unpleasant pictures, whereas this association was the opposite in PV. Finally, depression scores were associated with better categorisation of emotional pictures in CV, whereas trait-anxiety was associated with a response bias to unpleasant pictures in PV. Limitations: The choice of subclinical populations limits the scope of our results to moderate levels of depression and anxiety. Conclusions: Results suggest that the capacity of visual eccentricity to induce emotion reactivity is modulated by anxious and depressive symptomatology. These findings strengthen the usefulness of a central-peripheral visual model of behavioural stimulation to differentiate emotional reactivity dysfunctions in both affective disorders.

Abstract Aim of these revised recommendations for the general management of Kawasaki disease is to encourage its prompter recognition and warrant the most appropriate therapy, based on ascertained scientific data, raising awareness of the complications related to misdiagnosis or delayed treatment. A set of 20 synthetic operative statements is herein provided, including the definition of Kawasaki disease, its protean presentations, clinical course and seminal treatment modalities of all disease phases. The application of these recommendations should improve prognosis of Kawasaki disease and prevent the progression to permanent vascular abnormalities, thereby diminishing morbidity and mortality.

Objective:Breast cancer is the most frequent malignant tumor among women worldwide, with the sole exception of non-melanoma skin cancer. Currently, one of the most common treatments in Brazil is modified radical mastectomy, which, although effective, leads to both physical and psy-chological complications. In this context, breast reconstruction seeks to restore the functional and psychosocial health of women. This study aims to investigate the characteristics of breast reconstructions after mastectomy by comparing immediate and delayed reconstructions.Materials and Methods:This is a retrospective observational study, which was performed by analyzing the electronic medical records of the Erasto Gaertner Hospital in Curitiba, Brazil, from between January 2007 and December 2017.Results:After applying exclusion criteria, we analyzed a total of 268 medical records from January 2010 to December 2017. The most frequent histological type was invasive ductal carcinoma. Patients treated after 2014 had a higher number of immediate reconstructions, and the most com-monly used method was alloplastic reconstruction using expanders (66.5%). There was no significant difference in the frequency of immediate or late complications between patients who opted for immediate or delayed reconstructions. The most common immediate complication was surgical wound dehiscence, and the use of neoadjuvant chemotherapy was not associated with a higher rate of complications in immediate reconstructions.Conclusion:The current preference is for immediate reconstructions with breast tissue expanders in combination with chemotherapy, which fol-lows a trend in Brazil and worldwide that has been identified in the literature. Finally, the growth in immediate reconstructions with no associated increase in complications demonstrates the effectiveness of this practice.

Recent evidence suggests that both personality traits (PT) and emotion regulation (ER) strategies play an important role in the way people cope with the COVID-19 pandemic. The aim of this study was two folded. First, to longitudinally investigate the psychological distress (depression, anxiety, and stress levels) taking in consideration PT and ER strategies in 3 different moments: during the first lockdown period (April/20), at the first deconfinement (May/20) and 1-month after the first deconfinement (Jun/20)–Experiment I. Second, to cross-sectionally evaluate the impact of the pandemic in psychological distress and the correlates with PT and ER 6-months after the first deconfinement November/20 to February/21 –Experiment II. A total of 722 volunteers (Experiment I = 180; Experiment II = 542) aged 18 years or older participated in this online survey. The findings from Experiment I show that psychological distress decreased after the lockdown period, however, neuroticism traits predicted higher levels of depression, anxiety and stress symptoms, while difficulties in ER strategies were identified as a risk factor for depression and stress. For experiment II, neuroticism traits and being infected with COVID-19 were associated to higher levels of symptomatology, while unemployment and the use of emotional suppression strategies to cope with emotional situations were associated to depressive and anxiety symptoms. Although the psychological impact of the COVID-19 outbreak decreased over time in our sample, the current findings suggest that difficulties in emotional regulation and high levels of neuroticism traits might be potential risk factors for psychiatric symptomatology during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, people with difficulties in ER and neuroticism traits would benefit from psychological interventions that provide personality-appropriate support and promote emotion regulation skills during stressful events, such as the case of the global pandemic.

Trastuzumab induced a high rate of pathological Complete Response (pCR) in patients affected by locally advanced HER2-positive Breast Cancer (HER2-BC), by exploiting immune-mediated mechanisms as Antibody-Dependent Cell Cytotoxicity (ADCC) involving Natural Killer (NK) cells. Host’s immune genetics could influence the response to therapy, through the expression of variants that characterize NK receptors involved in ADCC effectiveness. Killer cell immunoglobin-like receptors (KIRs) modulate NK cell activity through their binding to class-I Human Leukocyte Antigens (HLA). The impact of the KIR/HLA repertoire in HER2-BC is under study. We characterized KIR genotypes of 36 patients with locally advanced HER2-BC treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy including trastuzumab. We monitored pCR achievement before surgery and Disease-Free Survival (DFS) and Overall Survival (OS) after adjuvant therapy. HLA, and Fc gamma receptor IIIa (FcγR3A) and IIa (FcγR2A) were genotyped through targeted PCR and Sanger sequencing in 35/36 patients. The KIR-HLA combinations were then described as functional haplotypes and divided in two main categories as inhibitory tel A and stimulatory tel B. Trastuzumab-dependent ADCC activity was monitored with an in vitro assay using a HER2-BC model and patients’ NK cells.We observed a higher frequency of KIR activators in patients who achieved a pCR compared to partial responders. During the study of functional haplotypes, individuals carrying a tel B haplotype showed greater ADCC efficiency than tel A cases. In subjects with the tel A haplotype the presence of the favorite V allele in FcγR3A receptor improved their low ADCC levels. Regardless of the haplotypes detected, the presence of KIR3DL2/HLA-A03 or A11 was always associated with the FcγR3A V allele, and therefore correlated with greater ADCC efficiency. However, this particular KIR receptor appeared to harm DFS and OS. Indeed, patients with tel B haplotype without KIR3DL2/HLA-A03 or A11 showed a better outcome. Our data, although preliminary, suggested a potential predictive role for KIR haplotype tel B, in identifying patients who achieve a pCR after neoadjuvant treatment with trastuzumab, and supported a negative prognostic impact of KIR3DL2/HLA-A03 or A11 in the adjuvant setting.

The “Masiere di Vedana” rock avalanche, located in the Belluno Dolomites (NE Italy) at the foot of Mt. Peron, is reinterpreted as historic on the base of archeological information and cosmogenic 36Cl exposure dates. The deposit is 9 km2 wide, has a volume of ∼170 Mm3 corresponding to a pre-detachment rock mass of ∼130 Mm3, and has a maximum runout distance of 6 km and an H∕L ratio of ∼0.2. Differential velocities of the rock avalanche moving radially over different topography and path material lead to the formation of specific landforms (tomas and compressional ridges). In the Mt. Peron crown the bedding is subvertical and includes carbonate lithologies from Lower Jurassic (Calcari Grigi Group) to Cretaceous (Maiolica) in age. The stratigraphic sequence is preserved in the deposit with the formations represented in the boulders becoming younger with distance from the source area. In the release area the bedding, the SSE-verging frontal thrust planes, the NW-verging backthrust planes, the NW–SE fracture planes, and the N–S Jurassic fault planes controlled the failure and enhanced the rock mass fragmentation. The present Mt. Peron crown still shows hundreds-of-metres-high rock prisms bounded by backwall trenches. Cosmogenic 36Cl exposure ages, mean 1.90±0.45 ka, indicate failure occurred between 340 BCE and 560 CE. Although abundant Roman remains were found in sites surrounding the rock avalanche deposit, none were found within the deposit, and this is consistent with a late Roman or early Middle Ages failure. Seismic and climatic conditions as landslide predisposing factors are discussed. Over the last few hundred years, earthquakes up to Mw=6.3, including that at 365 CE, have affected the Belluno area. Early in the first millennium, periods of climate worsening with increasing rainfall occurred in the NE Alps. The combination of climate and earthquakes induced progressive long-term damage to the rock until a critical threshold was reached and the Masiere di Vedana rock avalanche occurred.

Abstract Background EBV produces miRNAs with important functions in cancer growth, tumor invasion and host immune surveillance. The discovery of EBV miR-BARTs is recent, and most of their functions are still unknown. Nonetheless, some new studies underline their key roles in EBV-associated malignancies. Main body In EBV-associated tumors, the expression profile of miR-BARTs varies according to the cell type, autophagic process and signals received from the tumor microenvironment. By the same way of interest is the interaction between tumor cells and the tumor environment by the release of selected EBV miR-BARTs in addition to the tumor proteins trough tumor exosomes. Conclusion In this review, we discuss new findings regarding EBV miR-BARTs in Hodgkin lymphoma and gastric cancer. The recent discovery that miRNAs are released by exosomes, including miR-BARTs, highlights the importance of tumor and microenvironment interplay with more specific effects on the host immune response.

After this, Alessio Calandra deals with the possible influence of the soundscape of Disneyland Park, an amusement park in Disneyland Paris: he begins from some ‘physical’ places of the Park, such as Main Street U.S.A., Frontierland, Adventureland, and arrives to the detailed analysis of their specific soundscape related to the sale of Disney-branded gadgets and products within the park.

Dentre os fatores implicados na aprendizagem de estudantes do Ensino Superior, pode-se destacar a qualidade de vida. O objetivo deste relato foi problematizar a qualidade de vida com alunos universitários por meio de aproximações da Metodologia da Problematização (MP) com o arco de Maguerez. As informações apresentadas de forma descritiva foram coletadas seguindo as etapas de desenvolvimento do arco e de questionário, antes e após a realização da oficina, sendo que, para a análise de tais informações, foi utilizada a análise temática. Como resultado, verificou-se a efetividade da utilização da MP como método didático-pedagógico para auxiliar os participantes na compreensão sobre sua qualidade de vida na percepção da necessidade de mudanças de comportamentos e atitudes para melhoria e manutenção dessa qualidade de vida. Em processos de ensino-aprendizagem, o uso da MP possibilita gerar o protagonismo do aluno do Ensino Superior quando alinhado à realidade dele.

Classical pediatric Hodgkin Lymphoma (HL) is a rare malignancy. Therapeutic regimens for its management may be optimized by establishing treatment response early on. The aim of this study was to identify plasma protein biomarkers enabling the prediction of relapse in pediatric/adolescent HL patients treated under the pediatric EuroNet-PHL-C2 trial. We used untargeted liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS)-based proteomics at the time of diagnosis—before any therapy—as semiquantitative method to profile plasma proteins specifically associated with relapse in 42 children with nodular sclerosing HL. In both the exploratory and the validation cohorts, six proteins (apolipoprotein E, C4b-binding protein α chain, clusterin, fibrinogen γ chain, prothrombin, and vitronectin) were more abundant in the plasma of patients whose HL relapsed (|fold change| ≥ 1.2, p < 0.05, Student’s t-test). Predicting protein function with the Gene Ontology classification model, the proteins were included in four biological processes (p < 0.01). Using immunoblotting and Luminex assays, we validated two of these candidate biomarkers—C4b-binding protein α chain and clusterin—linked to innate immune response function (GO:0045087). This study identified C4b-binding protein α chain and clusterin as candidate early plasma biomarkers of HL relapse, and important for the purpose of shedding light on the molecular scenario associated with immune response in patients treated under the EuroNet-PHL-C2 trial.
