Problem statement. One of the constructing antenna arrays (AA) topic is related to the determination of complex amplitudes at the input of the antenna-feeder path, which, taking into account the distortions introduced by the its, ensure the formation of an amplitude-phase distribution (APD), in which the formed DP differed minimally from the set one. The statement of the problem assumes the known number and coordinates of the location of the emitters, the DP of the radiating element in the composition of the radiating opening, a given radiation pattern. It is required to form an APD in a given opening of the AA, which ensures the formation of a DP that has a minimum deviation from the specified one. To solve the problem, the following algorithm is proposed: determination of the APD at the input of the antenna-feeder path, which ensures the formation of a given DP in the absence of distortions introduced by the antenna-feeder path; measurement for the selected directions of the generated DP with the selected APD in the presence of APD distortions introduced by the antenna-feeder path; formation of a refined APD that ensures the fulfillment of required condition in the presence of distortions introduced by the antenna-feeder path of the AA. Objective. Minimize the root-mean-square deviation of the generated PD from the one specified for the AP with the opening of an arbitrary geometry. Results. The results obtained showed: The formulation of the problem of synthesis of the APD allows us to consider, within the framework of a single approach, AA with different geometries, including AA with a non-planar radiating opening, no restrictions are imposed on the shape of the boundary, and linear (quasi-ring) AA, the emitters of which are located along an arbitrary mane. Using the proposed algorithm for the synthesis of APD, which includes three main stages: the formation of APD for a given DP; measurement of complex values of the generated DP; refinement of the APD by determining the corrections while minimizing the standard deviation (SD) between the specified and formed at the first stage of the DP, allows us to form an APD that provides a minimum SD between the specified and formed DP. The performed studies have shown that when choosing the number of angular directions in each plane, comparable to the number of emitters in this plane, there is a large difference between the given and formed DP. When the number of angular directions for measuring the DP is approximately three times greater than the number of emitters in a given plane, the SD between the specified and formed DP is close to the minimum value and practically does not change with further increase.

De Veiligheidsregio Midden- en West-Brabant, het lectoraat Digitalisering en Veiligheid (DenV) en de opleiding Integrale Veiligheidskunde van Avans Hogeschool werken op een aantal terreinen samen. Door het lectoraat is in opdracht van de Veiligheidsregio Midden- en West-Brabant een verkennende studie uitgevoerd in de periode juli 2018 – december 2018, gevolgd door een reeks kennisworkshops en overleggen in 2019. De resultaten en inzichten hieruit zijn in het voorliggende rapport vastgelegd.

This chapter discusses Weil’s criticisms of personalism and of an ethics of rights, given in her essay on Human Personality, and compares them with similar ideas of Levinas and Derrida. All three thinkers aimed to address the moral and spiritual neglect of actual human beings by a universalistic moral philosophy of humanity. A central place will be given in this examination to the Levinasian/Derridian concept of hospitality, which, I propose, could better express Weil’s intent than her concept of attention.

The solution of the problem of amplitude-phase distribution synthesis in antenna array (AA) with non-planar surface under a given vector radiation pattern is described the solution is performed in several stages. The first stage is to determine the vector pattern in complex form which parameters agree with given amplitude parameters (width of main lobe and side lobe level). This auxiliary pattern is formed with planar radiating aperture. The dimensions of aperture and auxiliary amplitude-phase distribution is determining a given amplitude parameters of the vector pattern. Obtained by using the planar aperture representation of the vector complex pattern is used as a given pattern in the problem of amplitude-phase synthesis for AA with a non-planar surface. On the base of the known pattern of radiators of antenna array and the given pattern in complex form the redefined system of linear algebraic equations for the unknown complex amplitudes of the currents in the non-planar aperture is solved. The obtained solution defines the amplitude-phase distribution which forms pattern, that standard deviation from the given parameters is least.

Dit artikel beschrijft de arbeidsomstandigheden van werknemers in Nederland vergeleken met die in Europa (EU-15), en de veranderingen die zich hierin de afgelopen twintig jaren hebben voorgedaan. Het artikel maakt gebruik van twee grootschalige periodieke vragenlijstonderzoeken: de 'European Working Conditions Survey' (EWCS) en de Nationale Enquête Arbeidsomstandigheden (NEA). We zien dat Nederlandse werknemers betere arbeidsomstandigheden rapporteren dan de werknemers in Europa (de EU-15), met uitzondering van agressie en geweld door derden. Dit laatste wordt vooral veroorzaakt door de relatief grote groep werknemers in de dienstverlening in Nederland, die bovendien meer agressie en geweld rapporteert dan werknemers uit deze sector in de EU-15. Trendanalyses laten weinig tekenen zien van intensivering van werk sinds 2005 noch in Nederland, noch in de EU-15. De autonomie in het werk van Nederlandse werknemers is gedaald, maar Nederlandse werknemers onderscheiden zich hierin nog steeds gunstig vergeleken met werknemers in de EU-15. Effecten van het nieuwe werken zijn duidelijk zichtbaar in de vorm van het toenemen van beeldschermwerk, langdurig zitten tijdens werk, maar niet in veranderingen van werktijden of in problemen met de werk-privébalans. Nederlandse werknemers gebruiken op het werk vaker een computer, zitten meer dan werknemers in de EU-15, maar hebben minder werk-thuisinterferentie.

This research aims at identifying the awareness degree and rural woman participation in the following activities: children education and health care, farming decision-making, plant production, poultry and livestock production, and food processing. Furthermore, the research addressed the significant relationship between independent studied variables and rural woman participation in the previous activities. The research was conducted on 80 rural women from Shinwan and Meselha villages, selected randomly among Shebin Elkom district at Menofiya Governorate. A field questionnaire was used to collect data through personal interviews of rural women at their villages during March and April 2009 period. After the completion of data collection, data was reviewed, classified, tabulated and statistically analysed by using frequency tables, percentages, and simple correlation, in addition to Chi square test.

AIM Determining treatment goals is an important part of the treatment decision-making process, but medical students are not trained in a structural way on how to define these goals. 'SMART' criteria are widely used in non-medical professions for determining goals and may improve treatment goal setting. The aim of this study was to assess the effect of implementation of SMART criteria on medical students' ability to set treatment goals and to analyze the effects on treatment choice and monitoring. METHODS We performed a prospective, randomized controlled minimal intervention study with one control and two intervention groups (WHO group and SMART group). Second year medical students had to complete a WHO six step treatment plan for four written case reports of patients with asthma. The treatment plans were assessed using a standard scoring sheet developed by a Delphi procedure among respiratory physicians from all eight university medical centres in the Netherlands. RESULTS A total of 251 second year medical students participated. Reinfusion of ex vivo-expanded autologous megakaryocytes together with a stem cell transplantation may be useful to prevent or reduce the period of chemotherapy-induced thrombocytopenia. In this study, we analyzed several serum-containing and serum-free media to identify the most suitable medium for megakaryocyte expansion. Moreover, two thrombopoietin (Tpo)-mimetic peptides were tested to evaluate whether they could replace Tpo in an expansion protocol. To analyze the effects of different media on megakaryocyte expansion, we used an in vitro liquid culture system. For this purpose, CD34(+) cells were isolated from peripheral blood and cultured for 8 days in the presence of Tpo and interleukin-3 (IL-3). The presence of megakaryocytes was analyzed by flow cytometric analysis after staining for CD41 expression. For our standard culture procedure, megakaryocyte medium (MK medium) supplemented with 10% AB plasma was used. Addition of 5% or 2.5% AB plasma yielded higher numbers of megakaryocytes, implying the presence of inhibitory factors in plasma. However, some plasma components are required for optimal megakaryocyte expansion because addition of less than 1% AB plasma or addition of human serum albumin instead of AB plasma resulted in the formation of lower numbers of megakaryocytes. Two commercially available serum-free media were also tested: Cellgro and Stemspan. If CD34(+) cells were cultured in Cellgro medium similar numbers of megakaryocytes were obtained as when CD34(+) cells were cultured in MK medium supplemented with 10% AB plasma. In MK medium with 2.5% AB plasma, higher numbers of megakaryocytes were cultured than in MK medium supplemented with 10% AB plasma. Therefore, Cellgro medium is not the best alternative medium. In cultures with Stemspan medium, higher numbers of megakaryocytes were obtained compared to MK medium with 10% AB plasma. Stemspan is thus a good alternative for MK medium. Two Tpo-mimetic peptides, AF13948 and PK1M, were tested for their ability to replace Tpo. In cultures with AF13948, comparable numbers of megakaryocytes were obtained as in the presence of Tpo, but in cultures with PK1M the number of megakaryocytes was lower. This study shows that high concentrations of plasma in medium inhibits megakaryocyte formation, but some plasma components are required for optimal megakaryocyte expansion. For an ex vivo expansion protocol, it is worthwhile to test several media, because the number of megakaryocytes differs widely with the medium used.

Deze richtlijn gaat over agressie en geweld in de werkomgeving. De problematiek van agressie en geweld krijgt met grote regelmaat aandacht in de media en de politiek. Zo heeft het Nederlandse ministerie van Binnenlandse Zaken en Koninkrijksrelaties (BZK) in 2007 het programma Veilige Publieke Taak gestart om agressie en geweld in de publieke sector terug te dringen. Werknemers in de publieke sector staan in nauw contact met klanten en burgers. Maar werknemers in de publieke sector zijn niet de enigen die geconfronteerd kunnen worden met agressie en geweld in de werkomgeving. In iedere sector kunnen werknemers geconfronteerd worden met agressie en geweld door personen in leidinggevende posities of door directe collega’s. Volgens recente peilingen worden vooral mensen werkzaam in het openbaar vervoer, uitkeringsinstanties, zorg en welzijn, onderwijs, politie, horeca, gerechtsdeurwaarders, vrachtwagenchauffeurs en tankstations regelmatig geconfronteerd met agressief gedrag, bedreigingen en fysiek geweld (Inspectie SZW, 2012). De Arbeidsomstandighedenwet 2009 (artikel 3, lid 2) verplicht werkgevers om beleid te voeren dat "…gericht is op voorkoming en indien dat niet mogelijk is beperking van psychosociale arbeidsbelasting". Agressie en geweld worden in de wet (artikel 1, lid 3e) expliciet genoemd als belangrijke aspecten van de psychosociale arbeidsbelasting. Een en ander betekent dat werkgevers beleid zullen moeten voeren om te voorkomen dat hun werknemers tijdens de uitoefening van hun werkzaamheden te maken krijgen met agressie en geweld, alsmede dat ze de gevolgen daarvan voor de gezondheid en het welzijn van deze werknemers minimaliseren. Daarom is deze richtlijn ontwikkeld met als doel aanbevelingen te geven voor interventies en oplossingen die een bijdrage leveren aan het voorkomen van en omgaan met agressie en geweld in het werk.

In order to allow safe operation and good performance, robots need an accurate model of their environment. Such a world model is constructed from sensor detections and typically contains information about positions and velocities of surrounding objects. This paper proposes how prior knowledge about those objects can be used to improve the performance of a world model, which is implemented by a Multiple Hypothesis Filter (MHF). More specifically, knowledge about object dynamics, expected locations, relations between object classes and detector characteristics is incorporated in the probabilistic models of the MHF. The results of simulations confirmed the potential of incorporating such object knowledge in a world model.

De competentiekit 'Transitie-Experimenten' richt zich op een cruciale fase in transities: Experimenten met nieuwe manieren van sociale interactie, innovatieve technologieën en nieuwe manieren om de samenleving te reguleren. Deze eerste Competentiekit helpt 'practitioners', door enkele belangrijke stappen in het uitvoeren van experimenten toe te lichten: verwachtingmanagement van deelnemers, strategische coalities vormen en het leerproces organiseren. En, belangrijk, om je continu bewust te zijn van de omgeving van het experiment en de bijdrage die het kan leveren aan systeemverandering richting het gewenste einddoel. De kit heeft -nu nog- de vorm van een eenvoudig werkboekje, waarin: - De huidige stand van zaken van de theorie rond Transitie-Experimenten; - Practische know-how; - Een illustratief voorbeeld wordt gepresenteerd.

Doelstellingen • Het bewust maken van de praktijkkennis van de ervaren docenten, om inzicht te krijgen in VMBO-specifieke competenties. • Het uitwisselen van de benoemde competenties tussen de teams binnen een school en in een volgende fase tussen de scholen om tot overeenstemming te komen. • Het ontwerpen van een kader voor het begeleiden en professionaliseren vanuit VMBO-specifieke competenties. • De implementatie van dit kader in het Instituut Archimedes. Algemene vraagstelling • Is er een VMBO-specifieke didactiek en pedagogiek en kun je deze zichtbaar en benoembaar maken? Zijn daarvan VMBO-specifieke begeleidingsvaardigheden af te leiden?

"Samen op Scholen plaatst je in een andere rol en je voert gesprekken die je nog niet eerder gevoerd hebt," aldus een schoolopleider. "Het laat je over jezelf nadenken. In het begin zag ik alleen het diepe zwembad, maar zo langzamerhand begint het kaders te krijgen, kun je de zwembanden los gooien en begin je al een baantje te trekken."

In het studiejaar 2004-2005 is het traject Samen op Scholen van start gegaan. Zeven VMBO-scholen geven in samenwerking met de Faculteit Educatie vorm aan een intern opleidingstraject. Per school nemen er zo’n tien collega’s deel. Enerzijds willen de scholen nieuwe docenten met gerichte kennis van het VMBÓ opleiden, anderzijds willen zij de onderwijskundige en didactische kwaliteit van het zittende personeel verhogen. Beide groepen zijn dan ook als ‘collega’s in opleiding’ in Samen op Scholen vertegenwoordigd.

Begin 2004 werd door de Faculteit Educatie van de Hogeschool Utrecht en een aantal geïnteresseerde scholen een pilottraject gestart, waarbij het opleiden van nieuwe docenten op de werkplek geïntegreerd binnen het professionaliserings- en innovatiebeleid van de scholen moest plaatsvinden. De vraag naar een dergelijk traject kwam voort uit ontevredenheid met de bestaande opleidingssituatie, waarbij vooral de scholen aangaven, ‘… dat de traditionele opleidingsstructuur niet langer voldoet aan de standaarden in het vmbo.’ (Miniconferentie ‘Bevoegd en bekwaam’, Utrecht, 17-12-2003). Tijdens de VMBO-conferentie ‘Samen op Scholen’ (Utrecht, 2004) gaven de betrokken zeven scholen en twee opleidingen (in deze eerste fase met name het Seminarium voor Orthopedagogiek en het Instituut Archimedes te Utrecht) het startsein voor het Samen op Scholen traject. Het verloop en de evaluatie van dit traject is zowel van belang voor de deelnemers als voor het Sectorbestuur Onderwijsarbeidsmarkt (SBO), dat zich immers richt op het optimaliseren van de arbeidsmarkt in de onderwijssector. De initiatiefnemers van de pilot vroegen daarom het SBO om ondersteuning, onder andere in de vorm van een monitor. Daarbij moesten vooral de volgende aspecten in kaart gebracht worden: • ‘De rolverdeling tussen de school en de verschillende opleidingspartners. • De aansluiting van het opleidingstraject bij de specifieke behoeften van het VMBO. • De ervaringen van het werkplek leren van zowel aankomende docenten als zittend personeel. • De ervaringen met het werken in een elektronische leeromgeving.’ (notitie SBO, 27-02-2004).
