With the development of wind power energy, the steel-concrete hybrid tower has been gradually popularized as the onshore tall wind turbine tower. To avoid the resonant response that brings violent damage to the wind turbine tower, the fundamental frequency of the hybrid tower must be carefully analyzed. This study develops a closed-form solution of the fundamental frequency of the hybrid tower, where the abrupt changes of cross-section and material properties, the effect of prestressing, and the mass and rotary inertia of the wind turbine are taken into account. It provides an effective way to obtain the fundamental frequency in the preliminary design of the hybrid tower. The effectiveness of the proposed solution is validated by comparing it with the results of finite element analysis, showing good agreement. By using the proposed solution, a parametric analysis is conducted to investigate the variation rules of the fundamental frequency to the design parameters. It indicates that with the variation of the proportion of the concrete/steel segments, the correlations between the fundamental frequency and the design parameters also change significantly. A series of 3d–3d′–4f heterotrimetallic compounds originating from (n-Bu4N)[(Tp*)Fe(CN)3] (Bu4N+ = tetrabutylammonium cation, Tp* = hydridotris(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl) borate) and [Cu((R,R)- or (S,S)-3-MeO-salcy)Ln(NO3)3(H2O)] (salcy = N,N′-(1,2-cyclohexanediylethylene)bis(salicylideneiminato) dianion), namely [(Tp*)Fe(CN)3Cu((R,R)- or (S,S)-3-MeO-salcy)Ln(NO3)3(H2O)3][(Tp*)Fe(CN)3]·2MeOH·5H2O (Ln = Gd for 1-RR and 1-SS, Tb for 2-RR and 2-SS, and Dy for 3-RR and 3-SS), were synthesized. Structural analyses demonstrate that all complexes are made up of a cyanide- and phenolate-bridged heterotrimetallic entity with [(Tp*)Fe(CN)3Cu((R,R)- or (S,S)-3-MeO-salcy)Ln(NO3)3(H2O)3] as cation and another [(Tp*)Fe(CN)3]− unit as anion. Circular dichroism spectra confirm the enantiomeric nature of the optically active complexes. Magnetic studies show that overall ferromagnetic couplings are operative in all complexes. Four Ni–Ln–Ni heterometallic complexes, [Ni2LnL2]NO3·3H2O (H3L = tri(((3-methoxysalicylidene)amino)ethyl)amine, Ln = Gd for 1, Tb for 2 and Dy for 3, respectively) and [Ni2DyL2]ClO4·MTBE·0.65H2O (4, MTBE = methyl tert-butyl ether) have been synthesized by diffusion of methyl tert-butyl ether vapor into the reaction solution. The X-ray analyses demonstrated that the GdIII ion in 1 exhibits rare seven-coordination, the TbIII and DyIII ions in 2–4 display unusual six-coordination, and two NiII ions and one LnIII ion are bridged by six phenolato atoms to form linear Ni–Ln–Ni heterotrinuclear complexes for 1–4. All complexes exhibit weak ferromagnetic interactions between NiII and LnIII ions. Alternating current susceptibility measurements demonstrated that compounds 3 and 4 behave as single-molecule magnets with the effective energy barriers of 14.17 and 11.13 K under zero direct current field. Two CrIII-MnIII heterobimetallic compounds, [Mn((R,R)-5-MeOSalcy)Cr(Tp)(CN)3·2CH3CN]n (1-RR) and [Mn((S,S)-5-MeOSalcy)Cr(Tp)(CN)3·2CH3CN]n (1-SS) [Salcy = N,N'-(1,2-cyclohexanediylethylene) bis(salicylideneiminato) dianion], were synthesized by using the tricyanometalate building block, [(Tp)Cr(CN)3]- [Tp = tris(pyrazolyl) hydroborate] and chiral MnIII Schiff base precursors. Structural analyses and circular dichroism (CD) spectra revealed that 1-RR and 1-SS are a pair of enantiomers containing a neutral cyanobridged zigzag chain with (-Cr-C≡N-Mn-N≡C-)n as the repeating unit. Magnetic studies show that antiferromagnetic couplings between CrIII and MnIII ions occur by cyanide bridges. 1-RR and 1-SS present metamagnetic, spin-canting, and antiferromagnetic order behaviors at low temperatures. Cardiovascular deconditioning is known to occur in astronauts exposed to microgravity. Endothelial dysfunction at microcirculatory sites might contribute to cardiovascular deconditioning induced by weightlessness. Recent studies have reported changes in the morphology and gene expression of endothelial cells exposed to conditions of simulated microgravity. The present study was aimed at examining the effects of microgravity on the apoptosis of microvascular endothelial cells and the mechanism underlying these effects. We simulated a microgravity environment and found that microgravity induced microvascular endothelial cell apoptosis and that this effect was correlated with the downregulation of the PI3K/Akt pathway, increased expression of NF-κB, and depolymerization of F-actin. These findings may provide important insights into the origin of the adverse physiological changes occurring due to exposure to microgravity conditions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Genetic improvement using the mass selection method of growth performance and stripe pattern on caudal fin in selected F6, F7 and F8 generations from genetically improved farmed tilapia strain Nile tilapia was evaluated at the National Tilapia Seed Farm of Qingdao, north China. In experiment I (2003), the average of daily body-weight gain of F7 was 12.5% higher than F6, and 28.6% higher than F5 ( P<0.05). In experiment II (2004), the average daily body-weight gain of F8 was 12.9% larger than F7, and 56.9% larger than F6 ( P<0.05). Coefficient of variation [(SD/mean)100] of body weight of F8 decreased significantly ( P<0.05) to 79.7% of F6 and 72.9% of F7, respectively, indicating that the growth became more synchronous after continuous selection. The percentage of fish with ideal vertical and parallel stripes on caudal fins in F5, F6, F7 and F8 reached 24.8%, 28.8%, 32.2% and 37.6%, respectively, significantly higher than that of the base population (17.6%) ( P<0.05). Objective To investigate the relationship between body mass index(BMI)and risk levels of thyroid nodules in a multi-center healthy population. Methods A total of 6070 subjects were enrolled from five medical physical examination centers in China from January 2015 to December 2017. All the participants'general information and parameters were recorded. Thyroid nodules were detected by color Doppler ultrasonography. All ultrasound doctors received uniform training before study. Results Among all the subjects,5773(95.1%;with 4274 nodules identified in 2833 subjects)were from northern China and 297(4.9%,with 183 nodules identified in 158 subjects)from central China(χ 2 =1.923,P=0.092). The nodules were single in 1479 of 2991 subjects(49.4%)and multiple in 1512 subjects(50.6%). Nodules larger than 1 cm accounted for 13.3% and nodules smaller than 1 cm accounted for 86.7%. Compared with the non-thyroid nodule group,the thyroid nodule group had significantly more women(χ 2 =156.36,P=0.000),older age(t=-18.768,P=0.000),and higher fasting blood glucose(FBG) level(t=-3.808,P=0.000). Among all the nodules,the prevalence rates of benign,very-low-risk,low-risk,moderate risk,and high risk were 4.5%,6.6%,85.0%,0.1%,and 3.7%,respectively,according to the ATA guidelines. Notably,there were 4291 nodules at moderate or lower risks and 166 nodules at high risk. Compared with the former,patients with high-risk nodules had significantly lower BMI(χ 2 =25.161,P=0.000)and high FBG(t=3.357,P=0.000). Multivariate non-conditional Logistic regression showed low BMI(OR=2.900,95%CI:1.461-5.783,P=0.002)and high FBG level(OR=0.803,95%CI:0.675-0.955,P=0.013)were independent risk factors for high-risk nodules. Compared with subjects with normal weight or obese populations,subjects with low BMI had significantly higher detection rate of high-risk nodules(χ 2 =25.16,P=0.000). In ≥55 year-old group,significantly more high-risk nodules were detected in low BMI group(χ 2 =44.868,P=0.000). Conclusion Low weight is associated with high-risk thyroid nodules among people ≥55 years old.
