Doğal boyaların en büyük kaynağı olan bitkiler, insanlığın başlangıcından beri renklendirici madde olarak kullanılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, sürdürülebilir ve yenilenebilir kaynaklı tekstil üretimi için yeni bir alternatif olabileceği düşünülen kanarya otunun pamuk liflerinin boyanmasında kullanılabilirliği araştırılmıştır. Kanarya otu (Senecio vernalis) bitkisinin taç yapraklarından ekstrakte edilen doğal boya kullanılarak farklı konsantrasyonlarda boya flotteleri ile boyama işlemleri gerçekleştirilmiştir. Boyama sonrasında boya flotte konsantrasyonları UV-görünür alan spektrofotometresi kullanılarak tayin edilmiş ve bu sayede kumaş üzerine boya çekimi tespit edilmiştir. Kumaşların spektrofotometrik renk analizi gerçekleştirilmiş ve haslıkları incelenmiştir. Sonuç olarak, kanarya otu bitkisinin taç yapraklarının kullanımı ile pamuklu kumaşların renklendirilebileceği ve uygun çalışma koşulları ile genel olarak yeterli haslıkların elde edilebileceği bulunmuştur., Plants, which are the biggest source of natural dyes, have been used as coloring agents since the beginning of humanity. In this study, the usability of eastern groundsel, which is thought to be an alternative for the textile dyeing industry, especially for sustainable and renewable textile production, was investigated. Dyeing processes were performed with different concentrations of dyeing baths of natural dye which is extracted from the crowns of the eastern groundsel (Senecio vernalis) plant. After dyeing, dye flotte concentrations were determined using UV-visible spectrophotometer and the percent uptake of natural dye on cotton fabric was measured Spectrophotometric color analysis of the fabrics was performed and fastnesses of the samples were evaluated. It was found that the coloration of cotton fabrics with the use of Eastern groundsel (Senecio vernalis) in suitable dyeing application conditions could be managed with almost sufficient fastnesses.

This paper presents an experimental study of the selected performance properties of 100% cotton terry fabrics. In this study, nine different constructions of terry fabrics are woven with Ne 12/1, Ne 16/1 and Ne 20/1 100% carded cotton ring spun weft yarns in three different weft densities. Fabric samples are subjected to 5 washing cycles before undergoing the tests; air permeability, resistance to pile loop extraction, bursting strength, tensile strength, tear strength, abrasion resistance, static water absorption and drying rate. Experimental results were analyzed using General Linear Model Analysis, Correlation Analysis and Paired-Samples T Test Analysis. According to results, weft yarn count is effective on air permeability, resistance to pile loop extraction, bursting strength, tensile strength, tear strength, mass loss ratio and static water absorption and weft density is effective on air permeability, resistance to pile loop extraction (15, 20 and 25 mm pulling distances), bursting strength, tensile strength, tear strength, mass loss ratio and remaining water ratio. The statistical evaluations demonstrate that repeated launderings also effect the performance properties of woven terry fabrics.

Bu calismada, suprem orme kumaslarin secilmis konstruksiyon ozelliklerinin kalinlik, hava gecirgenligi ve boncuklanma ozelliklerine etkisi arastirilmistir. Calisma kapsaminda kumas performans ozelliklerini karsilastirmak icin ayni pamuk harmanindan uretilmis Ne 12/1, Ne 16/1 ve Ne 20/1 iplikler kullanilmistir. Ayrica, soz konusu iplikler ile uretilmis suprem orme kumas numunelerine boyama isleminin ardindan iki farkli pH ortaminda antipil enzim uygulanmis ve antipil enzim uygulamasinda pH derecesinin boncuklanma uzerindeki etkisi arastirilmistir.

Denim görünümlü örme kumaşlardan üretilen giysiler kullanım sonrasında yıkandığında, yapılan tekrarlı yıkamalar ve kurutmalardan dolayı çeşitli fiziksel özellik değişimlerine uğrayabilmekte ve bu değişimler kullanıcı memnuniyetini olumsuz etkileyebilecek bir durum oluşturabilmektedir. Bu çalışmada ev tipi yıkama ve kurutma işlemlerinin denim görünümlü örme kumaşın kalınlık ve hava geçirgenliği üzerindeki etkileri incelenmiştir. Günlük hayatta yapılan yıkama işlemlerine benzerlik göstermesi için kumaşlar ev tipi çamaşır makinesinde yıkama işlemine tabi tutulmuştur. Her yıkamadan sonra kumaşların bir kısmı asılarak oda sıcaklığında, bir kısmı 40°C sıcaklıkta tamburlu kurutma makinesinde ve geri kalanı 70°C sıcaklıkta tamburlu kurutma makinesinde kurutulmuştur. Kumaşların konfor özelliklerini etkileyen parametrelerden kalınlık ve hava geçirgenliği özellikleri test edilmiş ve elde edilen sonuçlar istatistiksel olarak incelenmiştir., Denim viewed knitted garments are exposed to soiled and repetitive washing processes during daily life. Repetitive washing and drying processes lead to changes that may affect user satisfaction in terms of the comfort properties of the fabric. In this study,effects of home type laundering and drying processes were investigated on thickness and air permeability features of denim viewed knitted fabrics. Fabrics were subjected to washing processes in a home type washing machine to show resemblance to daily life laundering process. After each home type washing process, some of the fabrics were dried by hanging at room temperature, some of the fabrics were dried in tumble dryer at 40°C and the rest of the fabrics were dried in tumble dryer at 70°C. Considerable comfort parameters such as thickness and air permeability features of the fabrics were tested and obtained results were evaluated.

In this study weaving capability of a prototype sampling loom with having computer-controlled shedding, weaving design and patterning is investigated. First, preparation stage of prototype sampling loom with the selected weave types before weaving process is investigated comparing with the semi-automated punched-card sampling loom. To evaluate the weaving capability of the improved prototype loom samples were woven in selected weave types with weft yarns in three different yarn counts. The results of weaving periods and structural characteristics of the samples were investigated in terms of weave type and weft yarn count., Bu çalışmada, bilgisayar kontrollü elektropnömatik ağızlık açma mekanizmalı olarak tasarlanmış ve prototip imalatı gerçekleştirilmiş olan bir numune dokuma tezgahının kumaş dokuma yeteneği incelenmiştir. İlk olarak seçilen örgü tiplerinde dokuma öncesi hazırlık aşaması bakımından manuel kullanımlı tezgâh ile kıyaslama yapılmıştır. Bu çalışmaların ardından, geliştirilmiş olan tezgâhta dokunan kumaşların yapısal özelliklerinin değerlendirilmesi amacıyla sekiz farklı örgü tipi ile numune kumaş üretimleri yapılmıştır. Üç farklı numarada, 500’ er atkı atılarak üretilen numune kumaşların dokuma süreleri ve yapısal özellikleri grafiksel ve istatistiksel olarak incelenmiş, sonuçlar örgü tipi ve atkı iplik numarasına bağlı olarak irdelenmiştir.

Needle penetration force (NPF) is one of the main factors, which is used to determine fabric sewability. In this study, it was aimed to investigate sewability (based on NPF) of 1 × 1 rib knitted fabrics, which were produced by the separate ends of yarns. 18 types of fabrics were knitted with Ne 30/1 yarns with variations of stitch density and number of separate ends, whereas the other parameters were constant. Sewability tests were applied to fabrics after pretreatment and relaxation procedures by using the L&M sewability tester. As a result, it was seen that the number of separate ends and the stitch density have influence on the needle penetration values of 1 × 1 rib knitted fabrics.

Fabric defects that occur during weaving production causes wastage at garment production. If fabric defects can not be detected during garment production, causes separation of the finished product as second quality. In this study, in a weaving mill, raw fabrics were inspected during three weeks for defect detection after weaving operation and results were investigated using statistical methods. Detected fabric defects has been classified and noted on quality control charts. For statistical investigation of number of defects pareto analysis and p control charts were used from statistical process control methods.

In this study, the effects of weft yarn count and weft density on crimp% of unbleached and bleached 3/1(S) twill woven fabrics are investigated. The warp yarn properties (type, count and warp density) were kept constant while the effect of variation in weft count and weft density were studied. Crimp% of unbleached and bleached fabrics are calculated by dividing the difference between straightened yarn length and the distance between the ends of the yarn while in the fabric, by the distance between the ends of the yarn while in the fabric as percentage. It is observed that the crimp% of warp and weft yarn in woven fabric is effected by weft count and weft density statistically. Moreover weft and warp crimp% of bleached fabrics have higher values than unbleached fabrics as a result of the change in weft densities after bleaching process., Bu çalışmada, dimi 3/1 (S) örgü yapısındaki ham ve ağartılmış dokuma kumaşlarda atkı iplik numarası ve atkı sıklığının kıvrım üzerindeki etkisi araştırılmıştır. Çözgü iplik özelliklerini değiştirmemek kaydıyla (tip, iplik numarası ve çözgü sıklığı), atkı iplik numarası ve atkı sıklığını değiştirmek suretiyle kumaş üretimi gerçekleştirilmiştir. Kıvrım yüzdesi, dokuma makinesi çıkışında ham ve ağartılmış kumaşlarda, kumaştan çıkarılarak ölçülen kıvrımsız gerçek iplik uzunluğu ile kumaş yapısındaki iplik uzunluğu arasındaki farkın, kumaş yapısındaki iplik uzunluğuna yüzdesel oranı olarak hesaplanmıştır. Atkı iplik numarası ve atkı sıklığının, dokuma kumaştaki çözgü ve atkı iplik kıvrımı üzerinde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı etkisinin olduğu gözlenmiştir. Ayrıca, ağartma işleminden sonra atkı sıklıklarında meydana gelen değişikliğin bir sonucu olarak, ağartılmış kumaşların atkı ve çözgü kıvrım yüzdelerinin ağartılmamış kumaşlardan daha yüksek değerlere sahip olduğu görülmüştür.

Çerçeveli endüstriyel dokuma makinelerinde, her bir çözgü telinin gözlerinden geçirildiği gücü tellerini taşıyan çerçeveleri yukarı ve aşağı yönde hareket ettirerek ağızlık oluşumunu gerçekleştirmek için armürlü ve kamlı mekanizmalar kullanılmaktadır. Yüksek hızlarda çalıştırılmak üzere tasarlanmış olan bu mekanizmalar numune dokuma tezgahları açısından oldukça maliyetli olmaktadır. Bu çalışma, bir numune dokuma tezgahında armürlü desenlerin dokunması amacıyla tasarlanmış olan üç alternatif ağızlık açma mekanizması hakkında bilgi sunmaktadır.

Fabric defects that may occur at different stages of woven terry fabric production requires quality control and classification of fabrics as first or second grade before sending to customer. In this study, before shipping of two different terry fabric orders, defects were detected by inspection of fabric rolls on a lighted control board by experienced experts. Number of the defects and dimensions of the defects seen during the inspection were noted on quality control charts. Detected defects were defined and scored according to different demerit point systems. In this way, the fabric rolls were classified according to the demerit point systems before being shipped to garment enterprises. Disputes can be avoided with classification made by a demerit point system on which manufacturer and the customer have agreed., Bornozluk dokuma kumaşlarda üretimin farklı aşamalarında oluşabilen kumaş hataları, kumaşların müşteriye gönderilmeden önce kontrol edilerek birinci veya ikinci kalite olarak sınıflandırılmasını gerektirmektedir. Bu çalışmada, iki farklı sipariş için üretilen bornozluk kadife kumaş yüklemeleri öncesi, ışıklı panoda deneyimli kalite kontrol elemanları tarafından kumaş toplarının hata kontrolü yapılmıştır. Kontrol sırasında görülen farklı hataların sayıları ve hata boyutları kalite kontrol kartlarına işlenmiştir. Tespit edilen hataların tanımları yapılmış ve kumaş hataları farklı hata puan sistemlerine göre puanlandırılmıştır. Bu sayede kumaş topları konfeksiyon işletmesine sevk edilmeden önce hata puan sistemlerine göre sınıflandırılmıştır. Üretici ve müşterinin üzerinde anlaşmaya vardığı bir hata puan sistemine göre yapılan sınıflandırma sayesinde anlaşmazlıkların önüne geçilebilecektir.

In this study, a CAD-CAM program which can be used for individual studies for the weaving patterns and production planning, Weaving Pattern Design Program, was developed using DELPHI XE5 version. Drawing plans and dobby plans are produced manually or automatically with pattern design. Pattern design and development tools are used in program menu. The developed Woven Pattern Design Program also provides managing the shedding mechanism of a national sampling loom directly from the computer. This project involves designing, improving and making a prototype with having computercontrolled shedding, weaving design and patterning as a new version of the semi-automated dobby sampling loom, manufactured by Gulas-Machine (Istanbul). A CAD-CAM program that can manage the shedding function of this machine, Woven Pattern Design Program, was developed with DELPHI XE5 version. The developed Woven Pattern Design Program, not only manage the machine functions but also it can be used for individual studies for the weaving patterns and production planning. In this study, the number of specific woven fabric defects occured on raw terry fabrics during weaving production were investigated with statistical process control techniques. Raw fabrics of a selected standart fabric production were inspected for defect detection after weaving operation in a towel production company. Defects were detected by inspection of fabric on a lighted control board by experienced experts. Number of defects were noted on quality control charts. Applying pareto analysis, defects were revealed that formed 80% of total defects. Cause-effect diagrams and p control charts were created and solution suggestions to avoid these defects were presented keeping in mind that eliminating elementary causes, which is 20% of total problems, can resolve 80% of resources of problems.
