More people are realizing that obesity contributes significantly to the burden of sickness and is a serious public health concern. It presents a significant risk for acquiring various chronic conditions, including heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and multiple cancers. One occupational group that is particularly vulnerable to obesity is nurses, in part because of the shift work they perform, which leaves little time for physical activity. The idea of encouraging physical activity at work is becoming more and more popular, and it need to be encouraged and put into practice.
