In Mali, citrus fruits contribute significantly to the nutritional balance of the population due to their high content of vitamin C, carotenoids and polyphenols. The citrus sector in Mali is rich in several species, but the current trend in citrus production is towards the production of Tangelo (orCitrus×tangelo). The objective of this study was to determine the effects of phytohormones 2,4,5-T, AG3and potassium nitrate (KNO3) on vegetative growth of Tangelo. The trial was conducted in Koulikoro district, especially on the experimental plot of the IPR/IFRA of Katibougou. The plant material used isTangelo orlandowith white pulp. The experimental design was a Fisher block with three replications. The three products and water (check) were applied by spraying the leaves of the young plants at 110 days after planting. Résumé Les parcours constituent la principale source d’alimentation du bétail au Sahel. Ces formations naturelles sont sous l’influence de nombreux facteurs dont la croissance démographique, l’accroissement des effectifs de bétail et la forte variabilité pluviométrique qui caractérise la région. Les parcours du ranch de Niono situés dans la zone sahélienne du Mali, jadis exclusivement exploités par les animaux de la station de recherche, sont soumis à une importante pression pastorale de la part de troupeaux résidents et non-résidents. L’étude avait pour objectif de caractériser les formations sahéliennes du ranch dans un contexte de profondes mutations. Pour caractériser la strate herbacée, un inventaire des principales espèces avec la méthode des points quadrats alignés couplée à la méthode des carrés de rendements de 1x1m ont été mobilisées. La structure de la strate ligneuse a été déterminée par la méthode de dénombrement des individus dans des cercles de 625 à 1250 m² (12 placettes). L’étude révèle une diversité floristique de 40 espèces d’herbacées annuelles dont les plus importantes sontZornia glochidiata,Schenofeldia gracilisetBracharia xantholeuca. La production moyenne de phytomasse herbacée a été 1847 kg MS/ha en 2016. La strate ligneuse est constituée de 23 espèces reparties en dix familles dominées par celles des combrétacées (75%), suivies des Papilionacées (11%). La capacité de charge de la zone d’étude a varié entre 0,2 et 0,3 UBT/ha/an avec une valeur pastorale de 36,78%. These natural types of vegetation formations are influenced by many factors, including population growth, increasing livestock numbers and the high rainfall variability that characterizes the region. The rangelands of the Niono ranch, located in the Sahelian zone of Mali, once used exclusively by the research station's animals, are subject to significant grazing pressure from resident and non-resident herds. This study aims to characterize the Sahelian rangelands of the ranch in a context of major changes. To characterize the herbaceous stratum, an inventory of the main species with the method of aligned quadrats coupled with the method of 1x1m yield squares were mobilized. The structure of the woody stratum was determined by counting individuals in circles of 625 to 1250 m² (12 plots). The study reveals a floristic diversity of 40 species of annual herbaceous vegetation, the most important of which areZornia glochidiata,Schenofeldia gracilisandBracharia xantholeuca. The average herbaceous phytomass production was 1847 kg DM/ha in 2016. The woody stratum is made up of 23 species divided into ten families dominated by those of the Combretaceae (75%), followed by the Papilionaceae (11%). Objectif : Cette étude visait à mieux comprendre les caractéristiques des élevages de dromadaires et les pratiques d’exploitation des pasteurs et agro-pasteurs. Méthodologie et résultats : La méthodologie retenue est basée sur des enquêtes sur la caractérisation des élevages de dromadaires et leur productivité dans un contexte de changement climatique. Les questionnaires ont été administrés auprès de 228 ménages dans quatre regions administratives du Mali. Les résultats montrent que l’élevage de dromadaires est pratiqué par des hommes (100% des élevages enquêtés). Au Centre du Mali, le dromadaire est élevé dans 86% des exploitations enquêtées pour des travaux champêtres. Alors qu’au Nord du pays, son élevage est dédié à la production de lait et de viande. La quantité de lait trait par jour par chamelle varie de 2,33 à 5,59 litres en saison des pluies, 2,67 à 5,02 litres en saison sèche froide et de 1,17 à 2,73 litres en saison sèche chaude. L’âge moyen d’entrée en reproduction des femelles est compris entre 4 et 6 ans. L’intervalle entre parturitions est de 2 ans. Conclusions et application des résultats : Ces résultats permettront aux acteurs en charge de la promotion de l’élevage en général et de celui des dromadaires en particulier de concevoir des programmes et projets d’amélioration sur des systèmes d’élevage plus résilients face à la vari/bilité pluviométrique que connaissent les régions d’étude. English title: Characterization of camel (Camelus dromadaruis) farms in the central and northern regions of Mali ABSTRACT Objective: The aim of this study was to better understand the characteristics of dromedary farms and the farming practices of pastoralists and agro-pastoralists. Methodology and results: The chosen methodology is based on surveys on the characterization of dromedary farms and their productivity in a context of climate change. The surveys were administered to 228 households in four administrative regions of Mali. The results show that dromedary breeding is practiced by older men (100 % of the farms surveyed). In central Mali, dromedaries are kept on 86% of the farms surveyed for field work. While in the north of the country, its livestock is dedicated to the production of milk and meat. The amount of milk milked per day per dromedary varies from 2.33 to 5.59 liters in the rainy season, 2.67 to 5.02 liters in the cold dry season and 1.17 to 2.73 liters in the hot dry season. The average age at which females start breeding is between 4 and 6 years. The interval between parturitions is 2 years. Conclusions and application of results: These results will allow actors in charge of the promotion of livestock in general and dromedaries in particular to design programs and improvement projects on livestock systems more resilient to the rainfall variability experienced in the study regions.
