Abstract

Since the turbulence-combustion interaction is of great influence on complex supersonic combustion field, the different distribution of probability density function(PDF) models is studied on the basis of assumed PDF models. Considering the temperature and component fluctuations, the β-PDF and δ-PDF methods are used to simulate the hypersonic international flight research experimentation(HF2) direct-connect engine, and compared with the actual wind tunnel experimental results. The results show that: the prediction results of two PDF models is identical with experimental results whatever quantitate or qualitative analysis, which shows that the turbulence-combustion interaction cannot be ignored; the β-PDF model is better while predicting the wall pressure distribution, and has higher combustion efficiency, and can capture the turbulence-combustion interaction accurately.

Abstract

Objectives: Due to the urgent need to develop innovative, environmentally sustainable bactericides, we use the natural product isoquinoline as a lead compound to discover highly active bactericides from isoquinoline derivatives. Methods: In this paper, the antibacterial activity of 49 isoquinoline derivatives was evaluated against three plant bacteria in vitro. Results: Among all the derivatives, isoquinoline-3-carboxylic acid (IQ3CA) demonstrated significant antibacterial activity against Ralstonia solanacearum (Rs), Acidovorax citrulli (Ac), X. oryzae pv. oryzicola (Xoc), X. campestris pv. campestris (Xcc), P. carotovorum subsp. carotovorum (Pcc), and X. fragariae (Xf), with EC50 values ranging from 8.38 to 17.35 μg/mL. Furthermore, IQ3CA exhibited a potent protective effect against Ac, with an efficacy of 68.56% at 200 μg/mL, which was not significantly different from that of the positive control kasugamycin (72.48%) and was superior to that of the positive control thiosen copper (64.62%). The scanning electron microscopy observations revealed that treatment of Ac cells with IQ3CA at a concentration of 25 μg/mL resulted in a curved and sunken cell morphology, along with destroyed cell membrane integrity. Additionally, the motility and exopolysaccharides production of Ac were inhibited, and biofilm formation was prevented. Conclusion: These results suggest that IQ3CA holds promise as a lead compound with antibacterial properties against plant diseases. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

C(sp2)–C(sp3) bonds comprise the fundamental skeletons of many organic molecules, making their construction one of the most important transformations in synthetic chemistry. Over the past decades, radical-based C(sp2)–C(sp3) cross-coupling reactions have emerged as a straightforward and powerful tool to rapidly increase molecular complexity for numerous applications in biomedical science, chemistry, and materials science. Electrochemistry is regarded as a synthetically appealing alternative to drive redox reactions in a selective and environmentally benign manner. With the flourishing development of organic electrosynthesis, remarkable achievements have been witnessed in radical-mediated aryl/alkenyl C(sp2)–C(sp3) cross-coupling reactions for the synthesis of diverse alkylated (hetero)arenes and 1,2-disubstituted alkenes. In these reactions, the generation of alkyl radicals and their orderly transformation are the keys to success. This review comprehensively summarizes recent progress in electrochemically initiated radical-mediated C(sp2)–C(sp3) cross-coupling reactions, emphasizing the key electrochemically induced step for the generation of alkyl radical species, the scope and limitations of the C(sp2) and C(sp3) coupling partners, and the underlying reaction mechanisms. Abstract

An environmentally benign and efficient method has been successfully developed to generate S-(2H-chromen-4-yl) phosphorothioates from easily available 2-(3-hydroxyprop-1-ynyl)phenols and O,O-diethyl phosphorothioic acid [(EtO)2P(O)SH] with water as the only byproduct. The reaction proceeds smoothly in moderate to excellent yields. It is noted that (EtO)2P(O)SH acts not only as an acid promoter, but also as the nucleophile to attack the allenic carbocation intermediate.

Abstract

A new practical synthesis strategy has been developed to access­ the β-d-arabinofuranosyl purine nucleosides fludarabine and nelarabine. In our approach, an ortho-alkyne benzoyl ester is transiently introduced as a neighbouring-participation group in Vorbrüggen glycosylation to afford the corresponding β-nucleoside exclusively. The latter was further removed efficiently by using freshly prepared Ph3PAuOTFA to give the corresponding 2′-OH nucleosides without transesterification. After reversion of the configuration of 2′-OH and deprotection, fludarabine and nelarabine were obtained in high yield and purity.

Abstract

This paper is concerned with a theoretical and experimental study of the deployment of inflated curved slender beams. A theoretical model for a beam with effects from restoring force and moment on deployment angle is proposed. Assuming slow deployment, a quasi-static viewpoint is utilized to simplify the model which the buckling cross-section is considered. The relation between deployment angle and contact area at the instability bending point is studied for the membrane chamber of a thermally rigidizable inflatable beam. While an inflated beam was constrained as simply-supported and fixed-free at its ends, the relations between the restoring force and moment and the internal pressure and its angle were tested by adding to the mechanical experimental method an infrared thermal imager. Results show that the restoring force and moment are increasing with the pressure at a given angle. Moreover, the restoring moment is nonlinearly related to the deployment angle. The correctness of the theoretical model was verified through experiments.
