【Objective】 Yongji, located in the Hetao Irrigation district, has implemented a strategy of alternating between groundwater and surface water for irrigation to conserve water resources. This paper presents the outcomes of an experimental investigation into the repercussions of this practice on groundwater table change. 【Method】 The experiment was carried out in the Jingqu area of the Yongji irrigation district from 2018 to 2019. It involved measurement of the changes in groundwater depth, total salt content, total nitrogen, and phosphorus levels at 13 boreholes distributed across the region. We analyzed their spatial distribution and overall impact on groundwater dynamics. 【Result】 The alternating use of surface and groundwater for irrigation led to a reduction in the average groundwater depth by 0.15 meters. Simultaneously, it increased the average variation by 0.26 meters, and the coefficient of variation for groundwater depth by 1.13%, with the upper reaches of the irrigation district most affected. The decrease in irrigation area resulted in a reduction in areas with high salt content in groundwater, notably in the southeast of the upper reaches and northwest of the lower reaches, where the total salt content was reduced from 500 to 5 000 mg/L and 500 to 3 500 mg/L, respectively. Alternate irrigation also reduced the area with total nitrogen concentration exceeding 2 mg/L by an average of 14.38%, in addition to a marginal reduction in nitrogen and phosphorus in groundwater. The total nitrogen content in groundwater varied between 1 and 2 mg/L, while the area with total phosphorus content below 0.09 mg/L and 0.13 mg/L increased by 29.04% and 15.58%, respectively. 【Conclusion】 Alternate groundwater and surface water for irrigation can improve the utilization efficiency of groundwater and groundwater circulation. It also improved groundwater quality and alleviated the shortage of water resources in this region.

Amidst the recent positive psychology trend, teacher resilience has captured increasing scholarly attention, while burnout remains a significant, negative construct in teachers’ emotional spectrum. Research on burnout and resilience among teachers teaching English as a foreign language (EFL) is especially scant. In this study, we explored the psychological profiles of 40 EFL teachers in terms of their experience of burnout and resilience. Q methodology was first employed to collect data from 40 high school EFL teachers, the findings of which were complemented by interviews with nine of the participants. The findings showed three main profiles of the teachers: resilient with person-environment equilibrium and a sense of accomplishment, goal-oriented with tenacity and signs of burnout, and emotionally sensitive and burned out with small likelihood to bounce back. Based on this novel attempt to delve into the co-presence of various degrees of burnout and resilience among teachers, implications for teachers and school administrators are finally discussed. The manufacture of robust ultra‐deep‐blue polymer with an intrinsic stretchability is an extreme challenge toward fabricating flexible light‐emitting optoelectronic devices. As a key precondition for the realization of the intrinsically stretchable behavior, easily interchain slippages also cause the formation of intermolecular excited states, which is negative to the color purity and the emission efficiency of blue‐emitting film and devices. Herein, a series of π‐interrupted‐conjugated alternating polymers with a robust ultra‐deep‐blue emission and intrinsically stretchable properties are demonstrated. Interestingly, the model polymers (P4, P6, and P8) present stable ultra‐deep‐blue emission with an extremely high efficiency of ≈90% and a Commission internationale de l'éclairage (CIE) coordinates of (0.15, 0.06) in solid‐state, attributed to the excellent singlet excitonic behavior without any obvious polaron formation. More importantly, significantly different to rigid π‐conjugated polymers, the model P8 film displays an efficient deep blue emission even under a tensile rate of ≈15%, associated with the densely interchain entanglement and interpenetration. Finally, preliminary P8‐based polymer light‐emitting diodes also show a stable ultra‐deep‐blue emission with a CIE of (0.15, 0.06). All results above confirm the effectiveness of the π‐interrupted‐conjugated strategy to construct a robust deep‐blue polymer with an excellent intrinsic stretchability, which is a great potential for applying in flexible light‐emitting devices. Exciton behavior is crucial for improving the optoelectronic property of a light‐emitting conjugated polymer. Herein, the photoexcitation dynamics of exciton migration and energy transfer in a self‐doped β‐conformation film of the polydiarylfluorenes (poly[4‐(octyloxy)‐9,9‐diphenylfluoren‐2,7‐diyl]‐co‐[5‐(octyloxy)‐9,9‐ diphenylfluoren‐2,7‐diyl], PODPF) are demonstrated. Compared to the first generation of the β‐conformation polyfluorene, poly(9,9‐dioctylfluorene) (PFO), energy transfer occurs in PODPF β‐conformation films in a time period of ≈150 ps, much longer than those of the PFO ones (<5 ps), associated with the effective intrachain energy transfer (few hundred picoseconds), rather than interchain Förster energy transfer (a few picoseconds). Similar to PFO, the PODPF β‐conformation also displays well‐resolved vibronic emission peaks at 20 K, attributed to the planar and rigid conformation. Interestingly, a residual 0‐0 band emission of nonplanar conformation chain segments (435 nm, 2.85 eV) at 20 K also further confirms the exciton migration from the amorphous state to the β‐conformation domain in PODPF films. Therefore, the stable dual amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) behavior of the PODPF self‐doped films at 461 nm (2.69 eV) and 483 nm (2.57 eV), originates from the individual amorphous and β‐conformation domains. A disintegrin and metalloproteinase domain‐containing protein 10 (ADAM10) is a metalloproteinase known to modulate the progression of several types of tumor. However, the role played by ADAM10 in pituitary adenomas is currently unknown, and what factors orchestrate the activation of ADAM10 in this kind of tumor is also unclear. Here, we found that SRC kinase is an ADAM10‐interacting partner and that SRC kinase activity is required for this interaction. As a new positive regulator promoting the shedding activity of ADAM10, SRC could compete with calmodulin 1 (CALM1) for ADAM10 binding in a mutually exclusive manner. Strikingly, the interaction between ADAM10 and CALM1 is regulated by SRC activity. Furthermore, we proved that the cytoplasmic region of ADAM10 is required for the shedding activity of ADAM10 upon SRC activation. As a proof‐of‐concept, we discovered that the combination of ADAM10 and SRC inhibitors can inhibit cell proliferation and migration to a great extent. Thus, our findings shed light on a novel therapeutic strategy to block the tumorigenesis and migration of pituitary adenoma. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Retinoblastoma protein-interacting zinc-finger gene 1 (RIZ1) displays strong tumor suppressive activities, and its expression is often silenced in many types of human tumors. However, the relationship between RIZ1 expression and glioma prognosis remains unclear.Methods: The dysregulation of RIZ1 was evaluated using real-time polymerase chain reaction, western blot, and immunohistochemical analysis of gliomas from 51 patients. Correlation analysis was performed to examine relationships between RIZ1 immunoreactivity, clinicopathological features, and patient prognosis. Also, human malignant glioma U87 and U251 cell lines were stably transduced with ectogenic RIZ1 using a lentiviral vector to investigate the effects of induced expression of RIZ1 on cell proliferation, cell cycle, and apoptosis.Results: Real-time polymerase chain reaction and western blot analysis showed that RIZ1 was downregulated in high-grade gliomas compared with low-grade gliomas and normal brain tissue. Immunohistochemistry showed less RIZ1 labeling in high-grade gliomas than in low-grade gliomas. There was a negative correlation between RIZ1 and Ki-67 immunoreactivity. Clinicopathological evaluation revealed that RIZ1 expression was negatively correlated with tumor grade and patient age. Kaplan-Meier survival analysis showed a positive correlation between RIZ1 immunoreactivity level and progression-free and overall survival times. Multivariate analysis showed that high RIZ1 expression was an independent prognostic factor for patients with gliomas. Induced expression of RIZ1 in U87 and U251 cells reduced cell proliferation and increased apoptosis, and cell cycle analysis revealed that a majority of cells were arrested at G2-M. Moreover, transfection with a RIZ1 expression vector increased p53 and caspase-3 expression and decreased p-IKBα and p-AKT protein levels, suggesting that RIZ1 may stimulate p53-mediated apoptosis and inhibit p-IKBα and p-AKT signaling pathways.Conclusions: Our results suggest that high RIZ1 labeling is indicative of lower grades of gliomas and is associated with better progression-free and overall survival rates.
