The impacts of work characteristics on travel mode choice behavior has been studied for a long time, focusing on the work type, income, duration, and working time. However, there are no comprehensive studies on the influence of travel behavior. Therefore, this study examines the influence of work environment as a mediator of socio-economic variables, trip characteristics, transportation infrastructure and services, the environment and choice of transportation mode on work trips. The mode of transportation consists of three variables, including public transportation (bus rapid transit and mass rapid transit), private vehicles (cars and motorbikes), and online transportation (online taxis and motorbike taxis online). Multivariate analysis using the partial least squares-structural equation modeling method was used to explain the relationship between variables in the model. According to the results, the mediating impact of work environment is significant on transportation choices only for environmental variables. The mediating mode choice effect is negative for public transportation and complimentary for private vehicles and online transportation. Other variables directly affect mode choice, including the influence of work environment.

Although transport mode choice in commuting from home to work has been studied extensively, no prior research has investigated mode choice as an emotional response to external stimuli using the stimulus-organism-response (SOR) model. Therefore, this study applies the SOR model to explore commuters' transport mode choice behaviour. The stimulus variables include trip characteristics, transport infrastructure and services, environment, and work characteristics; the organism variable includes the travel experience and attitude of the individual; and the response variables include use of public transport, private transport, and e-hailing. Data were collected using a questionnaire survey of 500 formal-sector workers in Jakarta; 430 respondents provided valid responses for analysis. The survey data were analysed using partial least squares-structural equation modelling. The results showed that the stimulus variables, namely, trip characteristics, transport infrastructure, environment, and work characteristics, had indirect effects on the choice of e-hailing through organism factors (travel experience and attitude). Also, the environment and work characteristic variables had an indirect effect on the choice of private transport through organism factors. Stimulus variables had no indirect effects on public transport usage. When travel experience was the stimulus variable, the indirect effect on public transport usage through attitude as the organism variable was significant. The response to the use of transport modes showed dynamic behaviour, depending on the provided stimulus and organism. Stone mastic asphalt is a type of hot mix asphalt that requires much coarse aggregate, so substitution waste aggregate, such as steel slag, will be an economic reason. The problem is that there are still many things that have not been consistent in various studies related to the moisture resistance of steel slag. The study aimed to compare the effect of CA(OH)2 on the moisture resistance of the steel-slag stone mastic asphalt mixture and to determine the optimal CA(OH)2 dosage for improving the mixture resistance. This study employs basalt aggregate, steel slag from Krakatau Steel Company, 60/70 penetration asphalt, a stabilizing substance made of bamboo fiber, and CA(OH)2. The Texas boiling and the static immersed methods are used to test the adhesion on a loose mixture. The retained Marshall stability and indirect tensile strength are used to test the adhesion on the compacted mix. Testing result of Krakatau steel slag shows that steel slag has a much higher Fe2O3 content than steel slag in general and has low water absorption; a poor affinity for asphalt results from this. The result of the Texas boiling method showed a decrease in the percentage adhesion value between steel slag and asphalt compared to natural basalt aggregates and asphalt. Marshall Stability Ratio and Tensile Strength Ratio increased after mixing the asphalt with CA(OH)2. Marshall test results show decreased stability in mixtures with steel slag substitution. Adding CA(OH)2 increased stability and resistance to moisture significantly. This indicated that CA(OH)2 enhances moisture resistance on stone mastic asphalt with modified steel slag. Currently, cargo trucks dominate logistics transportation, so the condition of the Pantura (Java North Coast Road) route is quite poor and often suffers severe damage even though it has been repaired. If there is no solution to the high volume of trucks on the coastal route, then the budget for repairing the coastal route will continue to increase, so researchers want to minimize the repair of the coastal route by switching modes from trucks to trains. One of the ways that previous researchers have found is one of the policies to be able to support mode shift by giving allowance to trains and increasing the fines of freight trucks. Therefore, researchers investigated many policies connected to the increase in fines for freight vehicles on the railway, as well as allowances. Analysis regarding the impact caused by the policy will be included. According to the SEM-PLS model, preferences are indirectly impacted by existing and perceptions, with existing and perceptions intermediary path scores with high preferences. The fines variable, on the other hand, is not a good preference for mode shift policies. Business merchants that have a positive perception of rail transportation offered a considerably greater response for rail transportation allowances. Therefore, they will seek to utilize the train. The perception variable influenced the amount of the proposed train allowance policy, but not the freight truck fines policy. Train allowance and truck fines policies can be utilized in conjunction with one another, depending on the logistical conditions in a given location. Because this is a logistics network in Indonesia, an archipelago country where trucks are more flexible if they want to travel between islands, train allowance is the best choice to support mode shift persuasively and maximize the potential of trains for travel within the island. Commercial areas have a high economic and parking activity. High parking activity that is not comparable to the availability of parking facilities and it can interfere with the performance of the road. This study based on congestion caused by activities on-street parking on Gajah Mada St., Rambipuji, Jember. This road broadness reduced because on street parking and disrupting the flow of traffic. From the survey on Thursday, March 5, 2015 obtained the following results: performance comparison roads with and without on-street parking shows capacity has increased 25%, DS decreased 25%, and the speed has increased 11%. Characteristics of the road parking for MC, LV and HV in order are: volume parking 257 vehicles, 62 vehicles, and 10 vehicles. Accumulated parking 46 veh/h, 20 veh/h, and 5 veh/h. Turn over parking 0,0997 veh/SRP/h, 0,4588 veh/SRP/h, and 1,0940 veh/SRP/h. Parking index of 0,27, 2,22, and 8,20.

The purpose of the study is to evaluate and compare the performance of conventional hot mix asphalt and porous hot mix asphalt under accelerated loading. To achieve the objective, a test section was constructed and tested with a loading device previously developed. The pavement material conforms to the Indonesian Directorate General of Highway. While the porous surface conforms to the Australian standard for asphalt porous. The thickness of the test section was prepared to simulate the real condition of the pavement structure. The load, equivalent to the standard 8,160 kg axle load was applied for 1,000 passes. For every 100 passes, stresses and deformation were recorded. The result shows that there is some consistency between theory and field results in terms of stresses and deformation. Conventional surface course seems to perform better in deformation/rutting. Future research should be directed to improve the performance of the device and also the performance of the porous asphalt.

Regency roads are currently the worst performing of all road networks in Indonesia despite being the majority within the Indonesian road network system distribution. To be able to properly handle road treatments, it is necessary to be aware of factors that influence regency road performance. Research on bureaucracy as a variable to improve the performance of regency roads in Indonesia has never been done before. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of bureaucracy on the performance of regency roads in Indonesia. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to as many as 54 respondents, consisting of officials at the Regency public works office in East Java Indonesia. The analysis method used in this research is the structural equation model - partial least square (SEM-PLS). Bureaucratic factors were analyzed along with four other factors that are postulated to be affecting regency road performance, namely; existing conditions, human resources, maintenance and rehabilitation funds, and the road treatment technique used. Research results showed that bureaucratic factors are the most critical in determining regency road conditions. Bureaucracy has the biggest effect on road performance. Bureaucracy has indirect effects of 0.268 to the road performance, it is higher than that of an existing condition. Meanwhile, the existing condition has an indirect effect of 0.147. Bureaucracy also has a direct influence on the placement of human resources and maintenance and rehabilitation funds. While maintenance and rehabilitation funds, human resources and existing road conditions affect road treatment processes. Lastly, road treatment directly affects road performance. The economic growth of a region is strongly influenced by the smooth flow of traffic. The movement of freight by highway in Manado leads to the problem of traffic jams. To solve the congestion, it is necessary to know the traffic characteristics and the pattern of the origin of the destination. Through a curbside survey in which the respondents were freight drivers, the origin - destination matrix (OD matrix) was created. The traffic characteristics and the pattern of origin of the goods transport were analyzed. The results of the research showed that the total movement was dominated by entrance to exit of Manado from Kairagi to Tuminting with the movement of freight vehicles amounting to 27.03% of the total movement of goods transport in the study area. Recent year, reducing of open area and the extreme rainfall are reason for the flood in some city in Indonesia. The drainage and infiltrated well were constructed in some parts of the city could not solve the problem yet. The porous pavement can be applied to reduce run off, rate and pollutants. Reservoir base or sub base is an important layer as part of structure and also temporary store rainfall water before infiltrate to the subgrade. This study assessed characteristic and gradation some types of materials as stone crush, limestone and steel slag for porous pavement and evaluate this performance based on California Bearing Ratio (CBR) and porosity. Naturally these characteristics are contrary, in which for high porosity materials will have low bearing capacity. There are 7 gradations consist of 4 gradations in coarse aggregate and 3 gradations based on Bina Marga (Indonesian Highway Agency). The result showed that CBR of stone crush is high in uniform course material gradation than limestone and steel slag. In the term of porosity, the result completely the same for all materials in which the uniform gradation give the high porosity. It makes sign the influence of hardness and gradation of material will give contribution for bearing capacity and only gradation influence to porosity.
