Purpose: Student learning achievement is the output of an educational institution. Achievement of learning achievement is determined by external and internal factors of students. Therefore, the learning achievement of each student varies. This phenomenon prompted this research to examine the influence of the use of social media as an external factor in learning achievement and learning motivation as an internal factor in learning achievement on learning achievement using empirical data. Design/methodology/approach: The research was conducted on 146 cadets of the Semarang Maritime Science Polytechnic (PIP) which was carried out through interviews using a questionnaire. The data obtained was then analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach. Findings: From the results of this research it can be proven that social media is statistically proven to have a significant positive effect on learning motivation and learning achievement and learning motivation is statistically proven to have a significant positive effect on learning achievement Research limitations/implications: This research has not categorized internal and external factors. Practical implications: Based on the results of this research, to improve student learning achievement, it can be done through two approaches. First, learning achievement can be improved by increasing students' learning motivation. The second approach to improving learning achievement is through the use or utilization of social media. Garis pantai pada umumnya mengalami perubahan posisi dari waktu ke waktu akibat adanya abrasi dan sedimentasi. Perubahan garis pantai dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor, salah satunya akibat adanya bangunan pantai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat perubahan garis pantai akibat adanya bangunan pantai breakwater di Pulau Pramuka, Kepulauan Seribu. Metode pengolahan dan analisis data dilakukan menggunakan teknologi penginderaan jauh. Dari hasil pengolahan dan analisis data citra satelit Landsat 7 dan 8 dari tahun 2010 sampai tahun 2017 terdapat endapan sedimen atau akresi di pantai Pulau Pramuka akibat adanya bangunan breakwater. Luas endapan sedimen yang terjadi pada tahun 2010 sebesar 7.731 ha, pada tahun 2015 sebesar 7.974 ha, sedangkan pada tahun 2016 sebesar 5.285 ha dan pada tahun 2017 sebesar 5.387 ha. Timbulnya endapan sedimen di pinggiran pantai akibat breakwater ini mengakibatkan terjadinya perubahan garis pantai di sekitar Pulau Pramuka.

Abstract: The demands of the times are moving rapidly and dynamically forcing an organization to keep up with any changes that exist. Education is not free from change. This study aims to describe the application of Bridges transition model in Change Management in driving schools. This study uses survey research. This research method is descriptive qualitative. Source of research data are principals and teachers SDN Padaan 02 Pabelan, Kab. Semarang. Data collection techniques are by interviews and documentation studies. The results obtained from this study are the constraints and strategies of schools in the face of change, as well as the analysis of change management models. The obstacles faced are the absorption of new paradigm learning that is done online is not maximized, mastery of the Driving School Program is still not maximized, and the internet network that does not support. The strategy is to carry out joint activities collaboratively on weekends, academic supervision conducted by the principal at the beginning and at the end of the semester. The change management Model applied is the Bridges transition model. Strategi yang dilakukan adalah melaksanakan kegiatan bersama secara kolaboratif di akhir pekan, adanya supervisi akademik yang dilakukan oleh kepala sekolah di awal dan di akhir semester. The aim of this work is to study the influence of the number of membership functions (MF) of fuzzy logic controller (FLC) on the temporal performances of dynamical systems. A second contribution to this idea is the introduction of the disturbance signal as an additional input to the FLC and this makes it possible to deliver a command taking into account the values of this undesirable signal. In order to illustrate the influence of the number of membership functions of an FLC, the angular position in a linear model of an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) will be controlled around a given reference. The simulation results show that it is sufficient to limit the number of membership functions to a maximum of 5 MF and this is interpreted by the boundary fuzzy decision surface of the fuzzy control because there is no influence, in the case of adding other supplementary MFs, on the performances of the system.

Climate change is one of the biggest threats that human society currently needs to face. Heat waves associated with global warming negatively affect plant growth and development and will increase in intensity and frequency in the coming years. Tomato is one of the most produced and consumed fruit in the world but remarkable yield losses occur every year due to the sensitivity of many cultivars to heat stress (HS). New insights into how tomato plants are responding to HS will contribute to the development of cultivars with high yields under harsh temperature conditions. In this study, the analysis of microsporogenesis and pollen germination rate of eleven tomato cultivars after exposure to a chronic HS revealed differences between genotypes. Pollen development was either delayed and/or desynchronized by HS depending on the cultivar considered. In addition, except for two, pollen germination was abolished by HS in all cultivars. The transcriptome of floral buds at two developmental stages (tetrad and pollen floral buds) of five cultivars revealed common and specific molecular responses implemented by tomato cultivars to cope with chronic HS. These data provide valuable insights into the diversity of the genetic response of floral buds from different cultivars to HS and may contribute to the development of future climate resilient tomato varieties.

This research aims to analyze the use of Google Classroom as a learning tool at Satya Wacana Christian Elementary School, those are; (1) whether the existence of ICT helps in teaching, (2) how effective and interactive the use of Google Classroom is as a learning tool, (3) what features are often used, (4) explain the advantages of Google Classroom, and (5) the obstacles faced when using Google Classroom as a learning tool at Satya Wacana Christian Elementary School. This research used a qualitative descriptive method by conducting interviews and distributing questionnaires. The research subjects are 12 teachers at Satya Wacana Christian Elementary School. Based on the results of observations, interviews, and questionnaires, it was found that 100% of teachers felt that ICT was very helpful in teaching, 83.3% of teachers stated that the use, interaction, and assessment in Google Classroom were considered effective in their implementation, 100% of teachers often used Google Forms, the rest were Google Docs. , Slides, and Spreadsheets, 83.3% of respondents stated that GC is easy to use, 66.6% said GC’ features are complete, and 50% of respondents stated that GC is more effective and flexible. The obstacles that are often faced when using GC are the lack of stability of the internet network, there are still students who do not have their own gadget/computer/laptop facilities, charging grades that are still not appropriate, and limited video transmission capacity.

The all-flesh type of tomato fruits is caused by mutation of the MBP3 gene, however, knocking down MBP3 in certain genotypes also affect plant and fruit development. Here, the authors show that a natural mutation of AGL11, a close homolog of MBP3, is responsible for the phenotypic divergence.

As a result of the exhaustion of fossil energy sources and the corresponding increase of their negative environmental impact, recent research has intensively focused on regions of alternative energy resources and, especially, on solar energy. Slow tracking of the maximum power point (MPP) and fluctuations around the MPP reduce the efficiency of photovoltaic power generation systems (PV). This study offers a novel design for the MPPT controller, which we refer to as the “hybrid IC-LQI approach”, which combines the incremental conductance (IC) technique and the linear quadratic integral (LQI) controller based on the boost converter’s small signal model. We conduct a comparative study of the proposed hybrid IC-LQI, and the classical one-stage IC technique in order to show the effectiveness of our proposal under three different scenarios of weather conditions and load. According to simulation findings, the proposed hybrid IC-LQI approach has a high tracking efficiency of up to 98.92%, owing to faster tracking of MPP with very large reduction of oscillations. On the other hand, the IC technique provides less efficiency, up to 96.1%, showing very slow tracking and high oscillations. The presented analysis of the results confirms the superior performance of the developed hybrid IC-LQI technique to the classical IC technique.

The cryptocurrency market is a market that attracts researchers and investors because it is open every day. This can be seen by the anomalies that occur in the cryptocurrency market. This research uses cryptocurrencies with the largest market cap in 2020, namely Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether, XRP, and Bitcoin cash as research objects. The data in this study uses daily returns for testing the day of the week effect and daily volatility on the cryptocurrencies under study. This study uses GARCH (1,1) to determine the day of the week effect and daily volatility in the cryptocurrency under study. The results of this study indicate that there is a day of the week effect and daily volatility in the cryptocurrency under study, and it does not move freely. This causes the cryptocurrency market to become an inefficient market. The patterns that occur can be exploited by investors as well as other research on the cryptocurrency under study. Investors can avoid days that have high volatility for example in Bitcoin which experiences high volatility on Fridays and Saturdays because it has a high risk as well. Summary: Leydig cells (LCs) are the major androgen-producing cells in the testis. They arise from steroidogenic progenitors (SPs), whose origins, maintenance, and differentiation dynamics remain largely unknown. Single-cell transcriptomics reveal that the mouse steroidogenic lineage is specified as early as embryonic day 12.5 (E12.5) and has a dual mesonephric and coelomic origin. SPs specifically express the Wnt5a gene and evolve rapidly. At E12.5 and E13.5, they give rise first to an intermediate population of pre-LCs, and finally to fetal LCs. At E16.5, SPs possess the characteristics of the dormant progenitors at the origin of adult LCs and are also transcriptionally closely related to peritubular myoid cells (PMCs). In agreement with our in silico analysis, in vivo lineage tracing indicates that Wnt5a-expressing cells are bona fide progenitors of PMCs as well as fetal and adult LCs, contributing to most of the LCs present in the fetal and adult testis.

Haplotype-resolved genome assemblies were produced for Chasselas and Ugni Blanc, two heterozygous Vitis vinifera cultivars by combining high-fidelity long-read sequencing and high-throughput chromosome conformation capture (Hi-C). The telomere-to-telomere full coverage of the chromosomes allowed us to assemble separately the two haplo-genomes of both cultivars and revealed structural variations between the two haplotypes of a given cultivar. The deletions/insertions, inversions, translocations, and duplications provide insight into the evolutionary history and parental relationship among grape varieties. Integration of de novo single long-read sequencing of full-length transcript isoforms (Iso-Seq) yielded a highly improved genome annotation. Given its higher contiguity, and the robustness of the IsoSeq-based annotation, the Chasselas assembly meets the standard to become the annotated reference genome for V. vinifera. Building on these resources, we developed VitExpress, an open interactive transcriptomic platform, that provides a genome browser and integrated web tools for expression profiling, and a set of statistical tools (StatTools) for the identification of highly correlated genes. Implementation of the correlation finder tool for MybA1, a major regulator of the anthocyanin pathway, identified candidate genes associated with anthocyanin metabolism, whose expression patterns were experimentally validated as discriminating between black and white grapes. Summary: Cucumis melo displays a large diversity of horticultural groups with cantaloupe melon the most cultivated type. Using a combination of single-molecule sequencing, 10X Genomics link-reads, high-density optical and genetic maps, and chromosome conformation capture (Hi-C), we assembled a chromosome scale C. melo var. cantalupensis Charentais mono genome. Integration of RNA-seq, MeDip-seq, ChIP-seq, and Hi-C data revealed a widespread compartmentalization of the melon genome, segregating constitutive heterochromatin and euchromatin. Genome-wide comparative and evolutionary analysis between melon botanical groups identified Charentais mono genome increasingly more divergent from Harukei-3 (reticulatus), Payzawat (inodorus), and HS (ssp. agrestis) genomes. To assess the paleohistory of the Cucurbitaceae, we reconstructed the ancestral Cucurbitaceae karyotype and compared it to sequenced cucurbit genomes. In contrast to other species that experienced massive chromosome shuffling, melon has retained the ancestral genome structure. We provide comprehensive genomic resources and new insights in the diversity of melon horticultural groups and evolution of cucurbits.

The BioMart Community Portal (www.biomart.org) is a community-driven effort to provide a unified interface to biomedical databases that are distributed worldwide. The portal provides access to numerous database projects supported by 30 scientific organizations. It includes over 800 different biological datasets spanning genomics, proteomics, model organisms, cancer data, ontology information and more. All resources available through the portal are independently administered and funded by their host organizations. The BioMart data federation technology provides a unified interface to all the available data. The latest version of the portal comes with many new databases that have been created by our ever-growing community. It also comes with better support and extensibility for data analysis and visualization tools. A new addition to our toolbox, the enrichment analysis tool is now accessible through graphical and web service interface. The BioMart community portal averages over one million requests per day. Building on this level of service and the wealth of information that has become available, the BioMart Community Portal has introduced a new, more scalable and cheaper alternative to the large data stores maintained by specialized organizations.

Very few causal genes have been identified by quantitative trait loci (QTL) mapping because of the large size of QTL, and most of them were identified thanks to functional links already known with the targeted phenotype. Here, we propose to combine selection signature detection, coding SNP annotation, and cis-expression QTL analyses to identify potential causal genes underlying QTL identified in divergent line designs. As a model, we chose experimental chicken lines divergently selected for only one trait, the abdominal fat weight, in which several QTL were previously mapped. Using new haplotype-based statistics exploiting the very high SNP density generated through whole-genome resequencing, we found 129 significant selective sweeps. Most of the QTL colocalized with at least one sweep, which markedly narrowed candidate region size. Some of those sweeps contained only one gene, therefore making them strong positional causal candidates with no presupposed function. We then focused on two of these QTL/sweeps. The absence of nonsynonymous SNPs in their coding regions strongly suggests the existence of causal mutations acting in cis on their expression, confirmed by cis-eQTL identification using either allele-specific expression or genetic mapping analyses. Additional expression analyses of those two genes in the chicken and mice contrasted for adiposity reinforces their link with this phenotype. This study shows for the first time the interest of combining selective sweeps mapping, coding SNP annotation and cis-eQTL analyses for identifying causative genes for a complex trait, in the context of divergent lines selected for this specific trait. Moreover, it highlights two genes, JAG2 and PARK2, as new potential negative and positive key regulators of adiposity in chicken and mice.

SUMMARY: Endoreduplication, during which cells increase their DNA content through successive rounds of full genome replication without cell division, is the major source of endopolyploidy in higher plants. Endoreduplication plays pivotal roles in plant growth and development and is associated with the activation of specific transcriptional programmes that are characteristic of each cell type, thereby defining their identity. In plants, endoreduplication is found in numerous organs and cell types, especially in agronomically valuable ones, such as the fleshy fruit (pericarp) of tomato presenting high ploidy levels. We used the tomato pericarp tissue as a model system to explore the transcriptomes associated with endoreduplication progression during fruit growth. We confirmed that expression globally scales with ploidy level and identified sets of differentially expressed genes presenting only developmental‐specific, only ploidy‐specific expression patterns or profiles resulting from an additive effect of ploidy and development. When comparing ploidy levels at a specific developmental stage, we found that non‐endoreduplicated cells are defined by cell division state and cuticle synthesis while endoreduplicated cells are mainly defined by their metabolic activity changing rapidly over time. By combining this dataset with publicly available spatiotemporal pericarp expression data, we proposed a map describing the distribution of ploidy levels within the pericarp. These transcriptome‐based predictions were validated by quantifying ploidy levels within the pericarp tissue. This in situ ploidy quantification revealed the dynamic progression of endoreduplication and its cell layer specificity during early fruit development. This paper aims to show the level of economic diversification in Algeria in the light of the oil price collapse, where economic diversification will be calculated at the level of GDP according to the Hervendal-Hirschmann index, and the results of this study show that the ratios of economic diversification prevailing in Algeria and for the period 2010-2 019 is subject to changes in oil prices, where the Hervendal-Hirschmann index takes high proportions in parallel with the rise in oil prices and this is before the crisis of mid-2014, after that and then throughout the period of analysis saw ratios not less than 0.20 and this The first is due to the decline in the contribution of the hydrocarbon sector and the second to the weak contribution of other sectors, particularly industry and agriculture.

Large-cell calcifying Sertoli cell tumors (LCCSCTs) are among the most frequent lesions occurring in male Carney complex (CNC) patients. Although they constitute a key diagnostic criterion for this rare multiple neoplasia syndrome resulting from inactivating mutations of the tumor suppressor PRKAR1A, leading to unrepressed PKA activity, LCCSCT pathogenesis and origin remain elusive. Mouse models targeting Prkar1a inactivation in all somatic populations or separately in each cell type were generated to decipher the molecular and paracrine networks involved in the induction of CNC testis lesions. We demonstrate that the Prkar1a mutation was required in both stromal and Sertoli cells for the occurrence of LCCSCTs.
