The article examines the scientist's memoirs, which contain interesting and important materials about the events of the Second world war. The memoirs of B. P. Zaitsev are characterized by a high level of informativeness. However, they are valuable not only because they serve as confirmation, clarification and addition of facts known to modern Ukrainian historiography, but most importantly, because they make it possible to observe the events of that time through the eyes of an active participant. The novelty of the research lies in the analysis of the historian's reflections on the Second world war. The scientific heritage of the scientist contains quite a lot of material that needs thorough study. Taking into account the contribution of the historian will contribute to the successful study and popularization of the history of the Second world war.

Тавда (северо-восток Нижнетавдинского и Ярковского районов Тюменской области), которая несет на себе отпечаток ранней «встречи» на западно-сибирской территории русского языка с языками «инородцев» — тюрков и южных угров. Этимологическая интерпретация нижнетавдинского гидронимического материала представляет большую сложность по причине длительной и многослойной его переработки в условиях обско-угорско-тюрко-русского взаимодействия. Русское заселение региона, проходившее вслед за «тавдинским походом» Ермака, отразилось в названиях рек и озер, где обнаруживается не только севернорусский след, но и результаты контактирования с автохтонами края — субстратные и адстратные явления. С учетом истории русского освоения низовий р. Тавда дается общая лингвоэтническая характеристика гидронимии региона, в которой выделяются русский, тюркский и обско-угорский пласты. Рассматриваются этимологии тюркских гидронимов Иска, Киндер, гибридного русско-тюркского Максукуль, обско-угорских Тавда, Ангерь, Бусалка, Миртур, Муксунтур. Показано влияние русско-тюркского языкового взаимодействия на сосуществование фонетических вариантов, что открывает возможности для новых этимологических интерпретаций (гидроним Култыбайка). Предпринята попытка выявления квазисубстратных (по А. К. Матвееву) обско-угорских гидронимов — как заимствованных в процессе русского освоения Сибири (Лабута, Паченка), так и перенесенных c более западных уральских территорий (Ашмарка). Комплексное использование различных источников — исторических, картографических (начиная с «Хорографической чертежной книги Сибири» С. У. Ремезова 1697–1711 гг.), а также полевых материалов — позволило предложить ряд новых этимологий и верифицировать этимологические решения. The paper is the first approach to study the etymology of the lower reaches of the river Tavda (northeast of the Nizhnetavdinsky and Yarkovsky districts of the Tyumen region) which bears the imprint of an early encounter of the Russian language with the languages of “foreigners”– the Turks and the southern Ugric peoples on the West Siberian territory. The etymological interpretation of the lower Tavda river hydronymic material is very difficult due to its long and complex development in the context of the Ob-Ugric-Turkic-Russian contacts. The names of local rivers and lakes reflect the history of Russian settlement of the region after Yermak’s “Tavda campaign,” but apart from this North Russian trace, they also showcase a number of substrate and adstrate phenomena that are signs of the contact with the indigenous population. Studying the history of the Russian development of the lower reaches of the Tavda allows one to restore the general linguo-ethnic picture of the hydronymy of the region, in which the Russian, Turkic, and Ob-Ugric layers are distinguished. The paper explores the etymologies of the Turkic hydronyms Iska, Kinder, hybrid Russian-Turkic Maksukul, Ob-Ugric Tavda, Anger, Busalka, Mirtur, Muksuntur. The influence of Russian-Turkic language contacts is reflected in the coexistence of phonetic variants which opens up opportunities for new etymological interpretations (e.g. hydronym Kultybaik). An attempt is made to identify “quasi-substrate” (according to Alexander Matveyev) Ob-Ugric hydronyms, both borrowed in the process of Russian exploration of Siberia (Labuta, Pachenka) and brought from the more western Ural territories (Ashmarka). The use of diverse resources: historical, cartographic (starting with Semyon Remezov’s Chorographic Sketchbook of Siberia), as well as field materials made it possible to propose a number of new etymologies and verify etymological solutions. В статье анализируются ошибки и несовпадения в написании фамилий, имен и отчеств в личных документах граждан РФ, обнаруженные при оформлении пенсий и других социальных выплат, и в документах мигрантов, оформляющих российское гражданство. Материал для исследования извлечен из справок, составленных автором по просьбам граждан, обращавшихся в период 2005–2021 гг. на кафедру русского языка, общего языкознания и речевой коммуникации Уральского федерального университета. Справки были необходимы для подтверждения идентичности именования заявителей и их родственников в свидетельстве о рождении, паспорте, трудовой книжке, свидетельстве о заключении брака и т. д. Рассмотрены документы, составленные на территории СССР и постсоветских республик, а некоторые и в дальнем зарубежье. В статье в ыявляются типы ошибок и вариантов в записи имен, отчеств и фамилий в документах граждан, определяются причины этого варьирования. Исследование показало что наряду с орфографическими ошибками, которых в целом немного (пропуск буквы, замена буквы, лишняя буква, ошибки в словообразовании), в документах значительно чаще встречаются случаи варьирования имен, отчеств и фамилий, обусловленного языковыми и социолингвистическими причинами: 1) употреблением орфографических вариантов имени; 2) использованием литературного и разговорного варианта имени; 3) заменой малоизвестного имени на более популярное, сходное по созвучию имя; 4) существованием словообразовательных и фонетических вариантов, в том числе разноязычных эквивалентов антропонима; 5) появлением вариантов вследствие русской передачи и латинской транслитерации специфических гласных и согласных других языков; 6) изменением графики и орфографии языков республик постсоветского пространства и тенденцией к исправлению русифицированных форм имен, отчеств и фамилий, записанных в советское время, на национальные. The paper analyses mistakes and inconsistencies that tend to occur in the spelling of surnames, fi rst names, and patronymics in personal documents of Russian citizens when they register for pensions and other welfare payments, as well as in the documents of migrants applying for Russian citizenship. The material for the study was retrieved from in-person enquiries received at the Department of Russian Language, General Linguistics and Speech Communication of the Ural Federal University during 2005–2021. The certifi cates issued by the author in response to those requests served to confi rm the identity of the names of applicants and their relatives in birth certifi cates, passports, employment records, marriage certifi cates, etc. The material includes the documents drawn up on the territory of the USSR and former Soviet republics, and some in the far abroad. The paper identifi es the types of mistakes and variations in the spelling of names, patronymics, and surnames in these documents and looks for the reasons to such variation. The study showed that along with spelling mistakes which are generally few (dropping / replacing a letter, adding an extra letter, word formation errors), there are much more frequent cases of variation of names, patronymics and surnames due to linguistic and sociolinguistic reasons: 1) the use of orthographic name variants, 2) the use of the literary and colloquial version of the name, 3) replacing a little-known name with a more popular one with similar pronunciation, 4) the existence of word-formation and phonetic variants including multilingual equivalents of the personal name, 5) new variants appearing in the course of rendering the name into Russian and transliteration of specifi c vowels and consonants of other languages, 6) changes in the graphics and spelling in the languages of the former Soviet republics and a tendency to correct the Russifi ed forms of names, patronymics, and surnames initially recorded in Soviet times to match the updated norms.
