This article aims to disseminate a technology-enhanced language pedagogy for teaching oral English in a World Englishes context, which is underpinned by the theories of scaffolding, scaffolded instruction, and task-based learning, and utilises a Moodle learning management system (LMS) as its e-learning platform. In this pedagogy, not only do technologies assist language teaching and learning in terms of lesson design, materials development, and lesson delivery, but they actually involve and play a crucial role in students' oral language development with the exploitation of text-to-speech (TTS) and automatic speech recognition (ASR). The contemporary status of teaching and learning oral English is discussed to clarify the congruence of the pedagogy with an emerging consensus on teaching English speaking. A brief summary of technology-enhanced language learning (TELL) and a critical examination of current practices of teaching oral English with technology are also presented for consideration of the position of the proposed framework in the field. The adaptability of the framework in case of the inaccessibility of an LMS is also discussed.

Since facing outbreaks of severe acute respiratory syndrome and avian influenza A in 2003, Vietnam has increasingly applied a One Health approach to address emerging infectious diseases of animal origin. Here, we reflect on the challenges and opportunities of One Health in the context of zoonoses, food safety, and antimicrobial resistance, drawing on a stocktake of One Health training, policy, and research in Vietnam. We also report on the results of a virtual consultation workshop held on July 2021 with representatives from 32 institutions in Vietnam to explore future One Health directions. As Vietnam approaches nearly two decades of disease preparedness and response, we hope our experiences can provide practical insights to support countries in developing coordination mechanisms and moving the One Health agenda forward toward better public health outcomes.

In this paper, we develop a modeling and optimization procedure for minimizing the operating costs of a combined cooling, heating, and power (CCHP) plant at the University of California, Irvine, which uses co-generation and Thermal Energy Storage (TES) capabilities. Co-generation allows the production of thermal energy along with electricity, by recovering heat from the generators in a power plant. TES provides the ability to reshape the cooling demands during the course of a day, in refrigeration and air-conditioning plants. Therefore, both cogeneration and TES provide a potential to improve the efficiency and economy of energy conversion. The proposed modeling and optimization approach aims to design a supervisory control strategy to effectively utilize this potential, and involves analysis over multiple physical domains which the CCHP system spans, such as thermal, mechanical, chemical and electrical. As potential intermediate-temperature SOFC cathodes, perovskite composite cathode materials were evaluated in combination with a La0.8Sr 0.2Ga0.8Mg0.2O3-δ (LSGM) electrolyte. Various cathode materials La0.6Sr0.4Co 0.2Fe0.8O3-δ (LSCF), Ba 0.5Sr0.5Co0.8Fe0.2O 3-δ (BSCF), and Pr0.3Sr0.7Co 0.8Fe0.2O3-δ (PSCF) were compounded with La0.8Sr0.2Ga0.8Mg0.1Co 0.1O3-δ (LSGMC) as a mixed conducting composite element. All powders were synthesized by the glycine-nitrate process (GNP). XRD analysis found resistive phases of LaSrGaO4 and LaSrGa 3O7 present in the calcined layer of composite cathodes on LSGM. A bulk ohmie resistance of 3.81 Ω·cm2 and an interfacial resistance value of 0.16 Ω were measured for LSCF/LSGMC composite cathode on LSGM substrate at 800°C in air. Low-frequency secondary ares in the impedance spectra of LSCF/LSGMC cathode coupled with low current density and low cathode porosity suggested possible mass transfer limitations. The LSCF/LSGMC composite electrode performed best at 800°C (0.11 A/cm 2 at 0.045 V overpotential) while the BSCF/LSGMC performed best at the lowest temperature investigated (0.1 A/cm2 at 700°C and 0.04 V overpotential). ©The Electrochemical Society.

This study focused on testing the existence of an apartment price bubble in Hanoi (Vietnam) and on determining the factors that affected it in the period between 2010 and 2021. Using the fundamental factor approach, the authors applied VAR regression using time series data. Specifically, we used the ADF unit test to test the stationarity of the variables based on the following criteria: AIC (Akaike information criterion); LR (likelihood ratio); FPE (final prediction error); HQ (Hanan–Quinn information criterion); and Schwarz (SC) to find the optimal lag (Lag) for the model. We also applied the Granger causality test to determine the correlation between the economic variables that appeared in the model with the PR index. We present the results of the research model through the push–response function and the variance decomposition to consider and evaluate the impact of the PR index shock on itself and the other variables. The literature in this field includes many studies that are similar to this one; however, no research has been conducted that has focused on analysing whether variables, such as per capita income and the urbanisation rate, influence the formation of real estate bubbles. This focus is especially relevant in Hanoi, which is an important part of the Vietnamese real estate market. Through this study, we aimed to fill this gap and to contribute to the references on the Hanoi real estate market and its influencing factors. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
