Introduction: Several investigations support that the nursing professional must have cultural competence, but sometimes they do not give the necessary importance during training. Objective: To describe training for intercultural care from the perspective of nursing faculty and students at a Private University in Chiclayo-Perú. Method: Descriptive qualitative research. The sample was not probabilistic for convenience, 10 professors and 10 nursing students participated in the study. For the collection of data, the semi-structured interview via Zoom was applied. The data were processed through thematic content analysis. Results: Two categories arose: a) Importance of training for intercultural care, b) Suggestions for including interculturality in the training process, with four subcategories: (1) Inclusion of interculturality in the classroom by means of workshops, content, competitions and subscriptions, (2) Strengthen community pre-professional practices, (3) Student exchange program, (5) Training of teachers on intercultural care. Conclusions: According to teachers and students, intercultural training in nursing is evident in a tacit way and it is necessary to take care of cultural diversity and these people feel confident and empathetic. Changes in medical education demand efficient professionals in their teaching. In this sense, education in the nursing career must be exercised with a broad pedagogical culture, which is achieved through academic growth that prepares the individual to be flexible in dealing with constant social, institutional and curricular variations. The epistemological referents on this subject reveal a limited systematization of such improvement in nursing teachers with respect to the development of their teacher training. This article briefly outlines the stages of the development of the growth, as well as the inadequacies that were presented in each one of them. Introducción: El conocimiento de enfermería evoluciona para dar sentido al quehacer de la profesión, desde su naturaleza de estudio y teniendo en cuenta las condiciones curriculares para tal fin. Objetivo: Identificar aspectos que contribuyen a la consolidación del conocimiento de la enfermería y su currículo. Materiales y métodos: Revisión de literatura integradora, utilizando los descriptores: enfermería, curriculum, teoría de enfermería, educación en enfermería, docentes y estudiantes de enfermería en las bases de datos de datos: LILACS, SciELO y ProQuest. Resultados: se seleccionaron y analizaron 63 artículos publicados entre el 2015 y 2020, y cuatro manuscritos que por su riqueza teórica aportaban significativamente. Emergieron dos categorías: 1. Enfermería y 2. Currículo de enfermería; en la primera se desarrollan temas relacionados con profesión y disciplina, teorías, modelos de cuidado y patrones de conocimiento, y en la segunda, métodos de enseñanza para el fortalecimiento de la formación. Los años con mayor publicación de artículos fueron 2018 y 2019. En Colombia se publicó el mayor número de artículos, seguido de Brasil y México. Conclusión: Aunque enfermería tiene una jerarquía de conocimientos claramente establecidos, es necesario que los currículos y las prácticas de enseñanza visibilicen tal conocimiento.

Una persona resiliente muestra valentía, adaptabilidad, tranquilidad y flexibilidad al enfrentar diferentes situaciones complejas e infortunadas, incorporando nuevas fortalezas en el proceso. El propósito de la investigación fue diagnosticar el nivel de resiliencia de los estudiantes de nivel técnico profesional de enfermería, como base para la propuesta de acciones metodológicas que contribuyan a elevar esa capacidad en los matriculados en esa carrera. Se realizó un estudio descriptivo transversal en la Facultad de Ciencias Médicas de Sagua la Grande, en la carrera de Enfermería, curso 2022. La población estuvo constituida por los 59 estudiantes que cursaban el primer año de esa oferta académica, seleccionando una muestra de 36 educandos mediante un procedimiento no probabilístico de tipo sujetos voluntarios. Se aplicó la adaptación por Novella del cuestionario de Wagnild y Young, en el que se evalúan las dimensiones: confianza en sí mismo, ecuanimidad, perseverancia, satisfacción personal y sentirse bien solo. Los resultados mostraron un predominio de la edad de 15 años (75,0%), el sexo femenino (80,55%), color de piel blanca (83,33%), el nivel de resiliencia medio en las dimensiones satisfacción (50,0%), sentirse bien solo (44,44%) y confianza en sí mismo (38,88%); además del nivel bajo en ecuanimidad (41,66%) y en perseverancia (47,22%). El diagnóstico posibilitó diseñar un conjunto de acciones metodológicas a desarrollar por el claustro de profesores de la carrera, para elevar el nivel de resiliencia de los estudiantes.

at the Nursing School of the University of São Paulo who acted as managers at the University Hospital of the University of São Paulo, who experienced the Teaching-Assistance Integration process, between 1978 to 2015. Method: Descriptive and exploratory study, with retrospective collection of sociodemographic data and components referring to the professional trajectory of 11 participants. For the characterization, a tabulated data base has been elaborated in Microsoft Excel, in which it was possible to analyze the profiles by means of simple frequencies. Results: The majority declared themselves white; catholic; from the State of São Paulo, Brazil; most have training in nursing; have between 1 and 5 years of experience in nursing care and in the management of the University Hospital of the University of São Paulo. Conclusion: The sociodemographic and professional profile of nursing professors who acted as managers and teachers, gave possibilities to constitute essential units to define the reality of the study participants, in order to clarify and concatenate with the individual and social structures. This article aims to apprehend the present elements in the social representation of faculty development (FD) in higher education in health areas. FD is understood as a set of institutional tools that enable teachers to carry out a multiplicity of action to support their pedagogical practice. Social representation research with a qualitative approach. The research took place at three higher education institutions on southern Brazil, with faculty members from the undergraduate courses in Nursing (10) and Medicine (11), totaling 21. The production of data took place through in-person and online semi-structured interviews (COVID-19). The analysis technique followed Moscovici's metodological steps, through two processes of Social Representation formation: objectification and anchoring. Introducción: Florence Nightingale contribuyó a la mejora y desarrollo de la salud. Hoy en día, todavía representa una fuente de inspiración y un tema de investigación para académicos. Objetivo: analizar la obra de Florence Nightingale en la formación de recursos humanos de Enfermería. Resultados: se insistió en algunos tópicos dentro del tema, como los enfoques del modelo educativo de Florence Nigthingale y sus características. Su sistema fue la base para la creación de muchas de las primeras escuelas de formación de Enfermería en el mundo y abogó por la independencia de la escuela de los hospitales para que los estudiantes no se consideraran trabajadores del mismo durante su formación. Conclusiones: Florence Nightingale vio en la formación una herramienta esencial para mejorar y evolucionar, creando para ello una escuela con la que formó personas en torno a un modelo firmemente establecido.

The present report is the result of a proposal of a didactic model and standard for the accomplishment of the nursing evolution in relation to the patient's admission, as well as its daily accompaniment and dressing evolution in case of skin lesion carrier. It was elaborated, essentially, from the practical experience of the author as clinical teaching supervisor and used as a pilot by a group of academics of a technical nursing course of a public university in the north of Minas Gerais, in the first semester of 2019. It aims to be a standard tool for the teaching of the student in nursing and professional follow-up, as well as to facilitate diagnosis and clinical prognosis and to offer integral, humanized and qualified attention resulting in the clinical recovery of the patient. Also, a well written evolution, with the maximum of clinical variables described, minimizes the chances of an eventual ethical process arising from the provision of care. It is suggested that the evolution model be adopted by academics, both in technical and undergraduate courses, as well as by professors and professionals already trained in order to improve the writing of the evolution in order to provide as much data as possible and also to offer quality care. Objective: To create disciplinary knowledge derived from philosophical reflections focused on the practice of the Nurse who provides care to people with mental suffering, through the construction of a Nursing Situation Narrative. Method: A narrative writing was elaborated in the First Diploma of Philosophy in Nursing attended by professors of the School of Nursing of the Universidad del Valle, favoring the study of theoretical concepts associated with the professional practice of the assistants; from the construction of Nursing Situations. Result: A Nursing Situation was written using the narrative strategy derived from the professional experience of the teacher writer as Coordinator of a Home Care Program in a Level III Psychiatric Hospital in the city of Cali. The writing was analyzed according to the theory of Psychodynamic Nursing consonant with the Interactive Integrative vision of Nursing. Conclusion: The construction of disciplinary knowledge supported by narratives of Nursing Situations, facilitates the philosophical approaches of Nursing in a scientific and humanized way. For its part, care under the relational psychodynamic approach, vindicates human interaction based on communication, empathy, warmth and opportunity; generating that the Nurse - Care Subject relationship is itself therapeutic. Objetivo: Describir el proceso de aprendizaje de los estudiantes de enfermería en la interacción con el docente experto. Materiales y Métodos: Investigación cualitativa, utilizando herramientas de la etnografía. Se identificó un docente reconocido como docente experto. La recolección de la información se hizo en dos fases. En la primera de realizaron observaciones durante dos clases y 23 entrevistas think aloud a 6 estudiantes. En la segunda fase se realizaron 8 entrevistas a profundidad a seis estudiantes. Se realizó el análisis descriptivo y la categorización en el programa Atlas Ti. Resultados: A Partir de la interacción estudiante-docente emergieron dos categorías que describen el proceso de aprendizaje. La primera es “la interacción entre los estudiantes y el docente experto: un procesos de dos”, que se desarrolla mediante la explicación, las intervenciones espontáneas de los estudiantes y los ejercicios de recapitulación. La segunda trata sobre “los aprendizajes: se quedan para la vida”, los cuales se evidencian en la identificación de las diversas formas de aprender, los aprendizajes para aprender y los aprendizajes implícitos. Conclusiones: El proceso de aprendizaje en la interacción entre el docente experto y los estudiantes es dinámico, flexible y abierto. Es un espacio donde los estudiantes y el docente construyen una relación activa, propositiva y bidireccional que favorece los procesos formativos en Enfermería, haciendo que los estudiantes obtengan aprendizajes significativos.

Fundamento: los profesionales en Enfermería participan en el desarrollo de modelos, marcos conceptuales y teorías para dirigir su práctica profesional, lo cual ha sentado las bases para futuras investigaciones en la especialidad, en cumplimiento a una de sus funciones y a sus modos de actuación. Objetivo: describir algunas variables sobre la preparación científica de Licenciadas en Enfermería en la atención primaria de salud, pertenecientes al Policlínico Universitario “Chiqui Gómez Lubián” de la ciudad de Santa Clara, Villa Clara. Métodos: se realizó un estudio descriptivo transversal en el periodo comprendido entre enero-marzo de 2020. Se emplearon métodos teóricos: análisis-síntesis e inducción-deducción; empíricos: análisis documental y encuesta en forma de cuestionario a los enfermeros; y matemático-estadísticos para los valores absolutos y relativos. Resultados: se determinó una experiencia de más de 10 años de graduados como licenciadas en Enfermería en la mayoría de las muestreadas, sin embargo, las cifras expresan bajo nivel de conocimientos en su preparación científica, pues solo la minoría ostenta grados académicos como másteres o son especialistas, y no hay ningún doctor en ciencias ni doctorando en la referida institución; se destacan las carencias en habilidades investigativas y el desconocimiento para publicar en revistas de acceso abierto. Conclusiones: se caracterizó la preparación científica de las profesionales en Enfermería de la atención primaria de salud y se determinaron sus insuficiencias, dadas en lo fundamental por la pobre participación en cursos de superación posgraduada.

The professionalization in the teaching staff of Nursing and Health Technology careers is the process of continuous training composed by the educational, investigative, assistance, management, bioethics and professional performance dimensions that facilitate the harmonic conjugation between "knowledge", "know how to do" and "know how to be". This professionalization constitutes a tool that can provide a way of making and a common language for the development of these professionals. That is the reason why, in this work some aspects of interest on the topic are exposed and the main results of an evaluation carried out to this training process are offered.

Objective: To understand the perception of pediatric nursing faculties about the use of therapeutic play. Methods: This is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach, conducted through the application of semi-structured interviews. Data were collected through an online form with 12 pediatric nursing faculties from higher education institutions in the state of Pará, Brazil. Data analysis was performed using Bardin's content analysis technique and the IRAMUTEQ software. Results: 33.3% of the faculties interviewed stated that they did not include therapeutic play in their syllabus. However, they emphasized the importance of addressing the topic in undergraduate courses. Faculties also pointed out strategies for teaching therapeutic play, the importance of using it in pediatric care, and the establishment of a child-professional bond. Conclusion: The research allowed us to define the situation of therapeutic play teaching by pediatric nursing faculties, highlighting its advantages and difficulties in the approach during the undergraduate course. Background: The pedagogical practices in nursing education are a wide field of study due to the new health needs. Objective: To identify the pedagogical practices developed by teachers in an undergraduate nursing program. Methodology: Qualitative research, case study type. Data were collected in 2020 through in-depth interviews with five nursing teachers working at a public university in Mexico. Data were organized and analyzed using an inductive approach based on Minayo’s operational proposal. Results: Four categories emerged: Teaching - Why and for what; Pedagogical preparation for teaching; Teaching-learning strategies used by nursing teachers; Challenges of pedagogical practice from the perception of nursing teachers. Conclusion: Teachers report that they did not have pedagogical training and that, at the beginning of their teaching career, they individually sought the necessary preparation to teach. The process of evaluating an educational technology aims to analyze the degree to which the resource is appropriate to achieve its objectives, based on a systematic analysis by subjects of different groups, depending on the aspect that will be evaluated. In this study, we highlight the process of usability evaluation of a hypermedia to support the teaching of the systematization of nursing care for students of technical and undergraduate nursing courses. The objective is to evaluate the usability of a hypermedia to support the teaching of nursing care systematization. Descriptive study with quantitative approach. An electronic questionnaire consisting of characterization questions, an adaptation of the System Usability Scale and the Suitability Assessment of Materials was applied. Data collection was performed from November 2017 to January 2018, with nine teachers and 11 students from the Higher and Technical Nursing Courses of a public university in Northeastern Brazil. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics. The total Score System Usability Scale was 91.9 (teachers) and 83.9 (students). Teachers and students considered the hypermedia efficient, facilitating learning and demonstrated satisfaction with its usability. The hypermedia was evaluated with good and excellent usability by students and teachers. Hypermedia, available in the link http://escoladesaude.ufrn.br/saeufrn/, can be used by the various educational institutions that train nursing professionals of different academic levels, as well as by care services, as a subsidy for the effectiveness of this field of knowledge. Métodos: se realizó un estudio cualitativo-interpretativo en tres universidades privadas chilenas de la provincia de Concepción, donde se imparte la carrera Obstetricia y Puericultura durante el período marzo-agosto de 2019. Se emplearon métodos teóricos: análisis-síntesis e inductivo-deductivo; empíricos: entrevistas semiestructuradas y grupos de discusión. Resultados: se investigaron tres unidades de análisis con sus correspondientes códigos: identidad profesional del matron/a docente, incidentes críticos en la docencia en Matronería, y estrategias de afrontamiento; los profesionales expresaron sus concepciones, estrategias y emociones sobre la docencia y revelaron que las formas de abordaje reflexivas transitorias son las más utilizadas. Los incidentes críticos más recurrentes fueron por incumplimiento de normas de conducta de los estudiantes, falta de claridad de los contenidos y desorganización del tiempo, espacios y recursos. Conclusiones: se estableció el vínculo entre las dimensiones de la identidad profesional del docente en Matronería y sus estrategias de afrontamiento ante los incidentes críticos. Si bien existe una toma de decisión adecuada, no es suficiente para lograr un cambio en su identidad, por lo que necesitan una formación pedagógica para perfeccionar sus funciones docentes.

Introducción. La enseñanza del cuidado de Enfermería, es la piedra angular sobre la que se sostiene la disciplina y los procesos de profesionalización. Es imperativo generar investigaciones que profundicen la forma en que la universidad está abordando este concepto y de qué manera se desarrolla desde el documento hasta el profesional. Objetivos. Comprender aspectos curriculares y vivenciales de estudiantes y profesores acerca de la formación en el cuidado de enfermería enmarcado en el modelo biopsicosocial, cultural y espiritual abordado por un programa de enfermería en Bogotá. Método. Paradigma cualitativo y de análisis de contenido, que se llevó a cabo en dos fases. Fase 1: revisión documental de los syllabus y proyecto educativo del programa de Enfermería (PEP). Fase 2: entrevistas a profundidad a estudiantes de último semestre y a profesores del programa de enfermería durante el periodo 2017 y 2018. Resultados. Fase 1: El cuidado de enfermería de los documentos del programa, se enmarcan en las siguientes categorías temáticas: definición de un cuidado desde la reciprocidad, abordaje de situaciones de salud enfermedad, gerencia y gestión del cuidado, enfoque biopsicosocial, cultural y espiritual, cuidado integral, habilidades y competencias para el cuidado. Fase 2: Para los estudiantes el cuidado se enmarca en tres categorías: cuidado con enfoque biopsicosocial durante los procesos de salud-enfermedad, cuidado holístico y conocimientos teórico-prácticos del cuidado. Para los docentes el cuidado está inmerso en tres categorías: cuidado desde una concepción individua Vs cuidado de enfermería, un cuidado que privilegia el componente físico y propuesta para la enseñanza y la formación en el cuidado Conclusiones. En el programa de enfermería se ofrece un cuidado con enfoque biopsicosocial, cultural y espiritual, vinculado en su mayoría a un paradigma de reciprocidad, que debe seguirse fortaleciendo desde el dialogo entre docentes, estrategias pedagógicas y una comprensión más integral y total del cuidado de enfermería.

Introducción: la enfermería es una profesión que se caracteriza por emplear el proceso de atención de enfermería como forma particular de aplicación del método científico. Se ha detectado que los profesores presentan dificultades y deficiencias para lograr el desarrollo de las habilidades de dicho proceso. Objetivo: identificar las principales deficiencias y dificultades de los profesores de la disciplina enfermería para lograr en los educandos los conocimientos y habilidades correspondientes al proceso de atención de enfermería. Método: estudio observacional descriptivo transversal. Universo los 69 profesores de la disciplina enfermería. Para la obtención de los datos a cada profesor se le aplicó un cuestionario anónimo auto administrado y se observó una clase. Resultados: el 74% eran instructores, 13% asistentes y auxiliares respectivamente. Máster en Ciencias 77%. Las dificultades referidas fueron: no control por parte de las jefas de sala 78,2%; exceso de estudiantes por cama 82,6%. Las deficiencias identificadas: falta de preparación teórica 76,8%; falta de actualización en el tema 82,6%; registro en el expediente clínico 75,4%; respuestas del paciente 75,4%; etapa de valoración 47,8%; de evaluación 37,7%. Métodos de enseñanza utilizados: elaboración conjunta 53,6%; explicativo-ilustrativo 21,7%. Conclusiones: las deficiencias fundamentales se evidenciaron en la falta de preparación teórica y de actualización sobre el tema; los elementos del algoritmo del proceso de atención de enfermería registro en el expediente clínico y respuestas del paciente; las etapas de valoración y evaluación. Las principales dificultades identificas fueron: pirámide docente aplanada; exceso de estudiantes por cama; no control de la aplicación del proceso de atención de enfermería por las jefas de sala.

The professionalization in the teaching staff of Nursing and Health Technology careers is the process of continuous training composed by the educational, investigative, assistance, management, bioethics and professional performance dimensions that facilitate the harmonic conjugation between "knowledge", "know how to do" and "know how to be". This professionalization constitutes a tool that can provide a way of making and a common language for the development of these professionals. Objective: To characterize the subjects of the stricto sensu Post-Graduate Nursing Programs curricula focused on didactic-pedagogical training. Method: An exploratory-descriptive research, of documentary analysis in the curricula of stricto sensu Post-Graduate Nursing Programs and in the teaching plans of the didacticpedagogical subjects. The disciplinary teaching plans of the 27 stricto sensu Post-Graduate Nursing Programs in Brazil were analyzed, with 53 plans submitted to descriptive statistical analysis. Data collection took place from March to June 2016. Results: Characteristics were presented regarding the curriculum of the programs, focusing on the themes, contents, and teaching strategies of the didactic-pedagogical subjects. Conclusion: There are differences among the curricula regarding the fundamental didactic-pedagogical subjects and the contents and teaching strategies. Objective: to report the experience of using musical strategy to care for nursing students in coping with Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Method: this is an experience report of the construction of a music video, involving 32 nurses, professors of the Nursing graduate course of a Public University in Southern Brazil. Results: the music video was structured in order to reflect the relevance of the students in the daily life of the University. The music rocked the feelings that require externalization in this period of pandemic, which occasionally showed the abrupt life-related changes. Conclusion: the strategy proved to be a health promoter and articulator between professors and students, pointing out new perspectives of care that overcome the barriers of face-to-face, envisioning the use of technologies in favor of broadening horizons for care, in times of social distancing and quarantine. Students are satisfied with the mentoring, when obtain a benefit and perceive that these help them meet their needs. Objective: The aim of this study was to know the satisfaction of students and professors with mentoring carried out in different educational centers of Nursing at the University of Seville. Method: The design was non-experimental, correlational, cross. The sample was composed by 1,015 students and 181 professors. The data collection was carried out through questionnaires, voluntary and anonymous. Results: 60% (102) of the professors said they were fairly or very satisfied with mentoring (average=3.47 and standard deviation=0.90), compared with 55.3% (476) of the students (average=3.44 and standard deviation=0.95). Conclusions: The structure and characteristics of the educational center (own or attached to the University of Seville) influence satisfaction with mentoring, both teachers and students. In addition, the professors influences the teaching activity (complete or partial) and to the students the age and course. It is important to know the satisfaction with students and professors with mentoring, as this influences the quality of the education system. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

ABSTRACT Objective: to identify contents related to Patient Safety contemplated in the curricular units of a Nursing undergraduate course, according to the teachers who work in it, and to know the teaching methodologies and evaluation strategies used. Method: descriptive case study, carried out with 15 professors of the Nursing undergraduate course of a Brazilian public institution, in 2014, who answered an online questionnaire. For data analysis, the guide of the World Health Organization was used as reference. Results: it was verified that patient safety contents are developed in the undergraduate course, referring to eight topics mentioned in the World Health Organization guide. There was a lack of contents of the topics “What is Patient Safety”, “Why applying human factors is important for Patient Safety”; and “Learning from errors to prevent harm”. The use of different teaching methodologies and evaluation strategies, both traditional and innovative, was identified. Conclusion and implications for the practice: the pedagogical project of the course must be revised, to align content, teaching methodologies and evaluation strategies and to promote the full development of this subject, both in the undergraduate Nursing course and in the other courses of the Health area.
