Migrations and development are two phenomena tightly connected, and this connection has evolved over time according to the goals and the agenda of different agents. It has also generated political, social and academic interests. Since the first theoretical formulations, the migratory phenomenon has been related to the lack of economic development as one of its main causes, although over time other approaches have been added, addressing the effects of migration on development, especially in the origin communities of migrants. On the other, although in close connection, it has allowed us to reflect on the academic interests, the topics addressed, the contexts studied and the ways in which these investigations have been carried out. Finally, this work has helped us to study what has been said in the Academy about the migration-development nexus and, above all, to value doctoral productions as contributions of great value to the scientific world and to society, emphasizing the importance of the applicability of our academic works. This study aimed to determine the trends in postgraduate theses and articles about primary school social, emotional, and moral development in Türkiye between 2007 and 2024. The digital archive of YÖK Thesis Center was scanned in the study, and five theses (2 master's degrees and three doctoral) were accessed. Fifteen articles were accessed through Google ScholarThe systematic review method was used in the study. The review showed that quantitative methods were mainly preferred regarding socialemotional development, while qualitative methods were preferred regarding moral development. Regarding both variables, students were mostly selected as the study group. The variables in the findings of studies on the social, emotional, and moral development of primary school children are development, age, intelligence, decision-making and communication skills, coping skills, self- and personality-related characteristics, academic skills, social skills, school-related characteristics, play, mother- father's education level. Migraciones y desarrollo constituyen dos fenómenos entre los cuales se ha dado una estrecha conexión que ha ido evolucionando con el tiempo en función de las acciones, intereses y agendas de los distintos agentes. Asimismo, ha suscitado un gran interés, no solo político y social, sino también académico. Desde las primeras formulaciones teóricas en torno al fenómeno migratorio, este se ha planteado en estrecha relación con la falta de desarrollo económico como una de sus causas principales, aunque con el tiempo se han sumado otros enfoques que abordan los efectos de las migraciones en el desarrollo, sobre todo en los lugares de origen de los migrantes. No obstante, el enfoque predominante ha sido aquel que abogaba por un discurso preventivo de las migraciones, empleando la cooperación al desarrollo para tal fin. Así, del nexo migración-desarrollo emergen una gran cantidad de cuestiones con enormes implicaciones sociales y que, por tanto, han sido de enorme interés para la investigación social. Con ello en mente, el objetivo de este trabajo ha sido estudiar cuantitativa y cualitativamente las tesis doctorales centradas en estas temáticas y producidas en España en los últimos treinta años. Mediante la búsqueda, revisión y análisis documental de estos trabajos ha sido posible, por un lado, documentar los años de producción, la autoría, las universidades y las áreas de estudio desde las que se han producido las tesis, y por el otro, aunque en estrecha conexión, nos ha permitido reflexionar en torno a los intereses académicos, los temas abordados, los contextos estudiados y las formas en que se han desarrollado estas investigaciones. Todo ello nos ha servido para estudiar qué se ha dicho en la Academia sobre el nexo migración-desarrollo y, sobre todo, para poner en valor las producciones doctorales en cuanto aportaciones de gran valía para el mundo científico y para la sociedad, recalcando la importancia de la aplicabilidad de nuestros trabajos académicos. The history of women archaeologists in Portugal and their contribution to the development of the discipline is yet to be studied. However, in recent years, some articles published in Portugal have contributed to the construction of this history. Some of these are from the year 2020, and although the coronavirus pandemic has affected the progress of these investigations, especially regarding fieldwork. Generally, these are quantitative studies based on the number of publications by women archaeologists and their references and interviews in newspapers. These articles, which require significant time for database analysis, have not yet explained the existing gaps. It is not the scope of this paper to pursue this quantitative scope; instead, it intends to conduct a qualitative analysis of the contribution of women archaeologists to the development of prehistoric studies in Northern Portugal. To achieve this goal, we are focusing on analysing the doctoral theses developed by women concerning pre- and proto-historic archaeology in Northern Portugal. With this evaluation, we intend to contribute to the history of Portuguese women’s archaeology and, at the same time, highlight their methodological and conceptual achievements.

Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh has a rich history in library science education, with the Department of Library Science offering various degrees. This study focuses on the citation patterns and obsolescence of doctoral theses from the Department of Library and Information Science, AMU. It examines the distribution of citations across journals and books and their half-life. The study analyzed 9,882 citations of 51 doctoral theses. The findings showed that journals are the most cited source (55.71%), followed by books (20.23%), online resources (10.06%), and other document types. The half-life of journal citations is 10.27 years. This study provides information about citation behavior and obsolescence patterns in library and information science research at the Aligarh Muslim University, and highlights the important role of journals and the lasting impact of books. The aim of this study is to examine the research models of doctoral theses published on brands subject in 2020-2023. For this aim, the content analysis of the doctoral theses retrieved from the database of the YÖK National Thesis Centre was carried out using PRISMA 2009 Flow Diagram. Secondary data sources obtained from 85 doctoral theses evaluated were analyzed using VOSviewer and UCINET programs. As a result of the analyses, a total of 40 brand concepts were evaluated in the research models of doctoral theses published on brand concepts. It can be seen that some similar brand concepts have been evaluated in the research models of relevant theses in all years. Brand loyalty, brand equity, brand image, brand quality, brand trust, brand satisfaction, brand experience, brand awareness, brand attitude and brand love are the common motor structures with high link strength that are evaluated in most of the dissertations. However, the concepts of brand loyalty, brand trust, brand quality, brand equity and brand image, which have a higher number of direct ties and eigenvector values, are the leading actors. The results of the study are discussed and implications are provided.

The ability to achieve social interaction is both a key feature of research writing and an important aspect of advanced academic literacy. It can be seen in how doctoral students employ rhetorical resources to acknowledge limitations in thesis writing while securing a positive view of the research. Negation is one of the crucial interactional options, but less explored in English for Academic Purposes (EAP) literature. In this study, we drew on the appraisal theory to see negation as a disclaim marker that engaged with alternative positions and employed corpus analysis to examine the forms and functions of negation in the ‘limitations’ section of doctoral theses. To better understand how student writers exploit negation to achieve the rhetorical end, we further explored co-articulations of negation with other appraisal resources. A corpus-based analysis of 100 doctoral theses by Chinese and American doctoral students in applied linguistics showed that American students made significantly more use of negation, especially pairing negation with engagement and graduation resources. We attribute the difference to genre and culture norms and also raise pedagogical implications on the cultivation of students’ rhetorical awareness and the classroom teaching of research writing. The purpose of this research is to examine the theses written in the field of voice education in Turkey according to predetermined criteria, and to provide data and resources for researchers working in this field. A total of 295 theses, including master's, doctoral, and proficiency in arts theses, conducted between 1987 and 2023 were accessed through a search conducted with the keyword "Vocal Education" in the YÖK Thesis Center database. While the population of this study comprises the accessible 295 theses, its sample consists of 95 postgraduate theses in the field of vocal education conducted between 2019 and 2023. The theses were individually analyzed based on their types, the universities and institutes they were published by, the years of publication, and their topics, and were presented in 5 separate tables. This research constitutes a qualitative study aimed at situational analysis. The data were evaluated using document analysis technique. The integration levels among research methods, management, research tools, and psychology could guide the development of the ONDAS framework toward the secrets of knowledge. The research grounds on undergraduate and graduate students' challenges, with particular emphasis on the need for writing critical literature reviews and weaknesses in identifying benchmark studies to extract the research gap and main research questions, resulting in most fresh graduate students not graduating on time. Some master’s students write doctoral theses, and vice versa, confusing their identified research approach. The study utilizes desk documents to identify the main problems that most students experienced during their research, to determine the knowledge structure through the analysis of benchmark studies, and to achieve the framework’s development foundation. As a result, it proposes ONDAS framework characteristics, procedures, and rules to be applied in different fields through data triangulation. Aiming to help the research process, ONDAS focused the study from its very beginning until viva voice discussion; this framework decreases the time of writing and preparation, guiding the research and strategy processes, and promoting tools to help with the analysis and elaboration of final theses. Results were achieved by a qualitative approach using the case study method that includes 40 participants in a semistructured questionnaire on their experiences with ONDAS framework. Most participants showed higher control and motivation, finishing on time and conducting their research with high precision and focus, establishing the integration of four primary levels that aid in developing the ONDAS framework across multiple disciplines and innovative research methodologies. Specifically, it is helpful for the scientific research community in academic-industry liaisons. The theoretical framework and conceptual framework help to determine the purpose of scientific research, facilitate the analysis of data, organize the thoughts of researchers, increase the reliability of research, and ensure that research is shared in a wide area. Although these two concepts seem to be basically the same, they have structural differences and the roles they assume are not same. Despite this, it is seen that many researchers use these two concepts when structuring their academic studies without fully distinguishing between them. In this research, 87 doctoral theses in the field of physics education in Turkiye from past to present were examined in terms of theoretical framework and conceptual framework. In the study, the case study, which is one of the qualitative research approaches, was used and the obtained data were analyzed with descriptive method. As a result of the findings obtained, it was seen that all of the theses had at least one theoretical framework or conceptual framework, and instead of these two titles, five different titles were used: theoretical framework in 29 of 87 theses, conceptual framework in 18, introduction in 18, literature review in 15 and general information in 7. When the distribution of theses in terms of theoretical framework and conceptual framework was analyzed, 64 of the 87 theses were evaluated under the titles of conceptual framework and 23 of them were evaluated under theoretical framework titles. In addition, when the distribution of approaches, theories, models, strategies and methods used in the theses was examined, it was concluded that they were mostly accumulated in the learning-teaching, conceptual understanding, cognitive dimension and affective dimension categories. This study investigates the trends of postgraduate theses on skills teaching in Social Studies education between 2010-2020, identifies the problems encountered by researchers in the process of skills teaching, and presents the solutions provided to these problems. With this purpose, 74 master and doctoral theses on skills teaching in the Social Studies course were included in the research. Descriptive content analysis was used in data analysis. The results demonstrated that there are mainly attempts towards practical implementations in skills teaching, and the teaching processes are important in the Social Studies course. The investigation revealed that many studies were conducted on skills development, but the number of theses on social skills was limited. It was determined that some of these theses had insufficient explanation regarding the teaching-learning processes. However, the experiences of the researchers concerning the processes were not included in many of the theses. It was also observed that in some of the theses, there was no information about the assessment tools utilized, and some researchers were not critical of the results of the analyses. In addition, there was no scientific justification for the time allocated to the implementations in most of these theses. Researchers stated that they encountered problems due to insufficient implementation time in the skills development process. The suggestions made by the researchers at the end of the process include updating the curricula and course books, eliminating the school infrastructure deficiencies, and providing in-service training to teachers.

This article explores the techniques for designing and managing the bibliographical database by using the Windows-based ISIS (WINISIS) library software package and specified the brief description of steps taken to create a database of all bibliographic materials as well as features of WINSIS are taken into consideration. The purpose of the paper is to be acquainted college librarians with the distinctive features of the Windows-based ISIS because Microsoft Windows is described as a graphical user environment, which gives the user more control over the work as well as enables the user to use more of the power of the computer. The author has applied practical methods to put forth the techniques for designing and managing the bibliographical database of Doctoral Theses by using WINISIS software package. The author has attempted to find out various aspects to describe the features of the various modules of Windows-based ISIS (WINSIS) library software which would be valuable for those college librarians who faced the crunch of budget and are distressed to manage databases, especially those colleges are situated in rural and tribal areas of India. Citation analysis is one of the popular techniques of bibliometric study that aids scholars in the identification of core journals in their respective domain. The present study is based on 1399 citations used in the 10 doctoral theses of the library and information science department of University of Calcutta, Mangalore University, Manipur University, Mizoram University and Gauhati University that are deposited to Shodhganga from 2020. The purpose of this study is to determine the most favored information source, year-wise distribution of citations as well as to prepare ranking list of core Journals in library and information science based on citation frequency of that journal. The aim of this article is to study the production of doctoral theses on foreign languages, from our point of view as Spanish speakers, conducted in Andalusia from 2010 to 2021 in order to collect the total number of dissertations and the diachronic distribution; to describe the production per universities, authors and directors according to the gender; and to gather the descriptors most used. Results show that, during the period 2010 to 2021, Andalusian public universities recorded 266 dissertations on FL. The annual average is of 22.16 doctoral theses per year. The representation of women in the authorship of dissertations is 175 (65.78 %), as opposed to 91 men (34.22 %). The participation in the direction of such PhD theses is 51.45 % for women and 48.55 % for men. In accordance with the composition of the direction, doctoral theses were supervised in equal percentage by both only women and (41.35 %) and only men (41.35 %). Mixed direction reached 17.29 %. The amount of 117 different descriptors was gathered. The most used keyword is translation and interpreting (22.7 %). In conclusion, a decrease in the doctoral production on FL was found at Andalusian universities as of 2016. The authorship reveals that FL is a feminised field. Educational research has been highlighting the importance of defining key competencies and learning outcomes related to education for sustainability as a reference for the transparent evaluation of students’ learning in this domain. Drawing on a reference framework that identifies five key competencies in sustainability (i.e., systems-thinking competency, anticipatory competency, normative competency, strategic competency, and interpersonal competency), the study reported in this paper aims to understand whether, how, and to what extent these competencies are present in doctoral theses in Higher Education published in Portugal in the past ten years. To address this objective, a qualitative study framed in an interpretative paradigm was conducted, and a literature review was used as a preferential research method to elicit meaning, gain understanding, and develop empirical knowledge. The retrieved documents were treated using deductive content analysis, which was performed using WebQDA software. Results of the analysis show that the competencies considered in the reference framework are present in research on education for sustainability carried out in recent years in Portugal, with a greater emphasis on strategic and anticipatory competencies. Findings suggest that it is important to continue to conduct research on these competencies to successfully integrate them into educational curricula and teacher education programs.

Understanding the scientific and social structure of a discipline is a fundamental aspect for scientific evaluation processes, identifying trends and niches, and balancing the trade-off between exploitation and exploration in research. In the present contribution, the production of doctoral theses is used as a proxy to analyze the scientific structure of the knowledge area of business organization in Spain. To that end, a complex networks approach is selected, and two different networks are built: (i) the social network of co-participation in thesis examining committees and thesis supervision, and (ii) a bipartite network of theses and thesis descriptors. The former has a modular structure that is partially explained by thematic specialization in different subdisciplines. The latter serves to assess the interdisciplinary structure of the discipline, as it enables the characterization of affinity levels between fields, research poles and thematic clusters. Our results have implications for the scientific evaluation and formal definition of related fields.

In recent years, bibliometric studies on mathematics education have allowed us to learn more about the scientific production in this field. To continue this line of study, in this research we have focused on the doctoral theses published on mathematics education and, in particular, on the role of women in the production, direction and evaluation of doctoral theses in this field, focusing on Andalusian universities. For this purpose, a bibliometric study has been carried out using the Teseo database. The results show a decrease in Andalusian doctoral production in this field in recent years and how, although the number of women who have completed doctoral theses in this field is greater than that of men, in the case of the direction of them, the number of male directors is greater than men directors. Official studies on publishing in Spain are limited and as a result little scientific research is available. There is no analysis of the production of doctoral theses which deal with this subject in any of its aspects, and so, little is known about matters related to the history and the production of one of the sectors which produces the greatest wealth of material and is considered the cultural industry par excellence. The goal of this article is to study the production of doctoral theses on the publishing industry and its history in the Spanish universities, with the specific purpose of obtaining information on the specific subject matters covered, the authors, the advisors or tutors of these theses and the institutions where these research studies have been carried out, within the period of 1976 and 2021. The general results have been the following: 103 theses from 31 universities (40 faculties and 75 departments) on 16 different subjects, which were defended in 40 faculties and corresponded to 75 departments, under the supervision of 123 professors. Neuromarketing as an object of study in the field of Communication is gaining more and more academic attention in the Spanish context, especially in recent years. In this text we analyze the evolution of this research topic in doctoral theses during the period 2007-2018, just at the moment of transition of regulations on postgraduate studies at the national level. Educational research has been highlighting the importance of defining key competencies and learning outcomes related to education for sustainability as a reference for the transparent evaluation of students' learning in this domain. Drawing on a reference framework that identifies five key competencies in sustainability (i.e., systems-thinking competency, anticipatory competency, normative competency, strategic competency, and interpersonal competency), the study reported in this paper aims to understand whether, how, and to what extent these competencies are present in doctoral theses in Higher Education published in Portugal in the past ten years. To address this objective, a qualitative study framed in an interpretative paradigm was conducted, and a literature review was used as a preferential research method to elicit meaning, gain understanding, and develop empirical knowledge. The retrieved documents were treated using deductive content analysis, which was performed using WebQDA software. Results of the analysis show that the competencies considered in the reference framework are present in research on education for sustainability carried out in recent years in Portugal, with a greater emphasis on strategic and anticipatory competencies. Findings suggest that it is important to continue to conduct research on these competencies to successfully integrate them into educational curricula and teacher education programs. Understanding the scientific and social structure of a discipline is a fundamental aspect for scientific evaluation processes, identifying trends and niches, and balancing the trade-off between exploitation and exploration in research. In the present contribution, the production of doctoral theses is used as a proxy to analyze the scientific structure of the knowledge area of business organization in Spain. To that end, a complex networks approach is selected, and two different networks are built: (i) the social network of co-participation in thesis examining committees and thesis supervision, and (ii) a bipartite network of theses and thesis descriptors. The former has a modular structure that is partially explained by thematic specialization in different subdisciplines. The latter serves to assess the interdisciplinary structure of the discipline, as it enables the characterization of affinity levels between fields, research poles and thematic clusters. The Digital Medical Library includes two collections: The Database of Doctoral Theses and Online Medical Resources. The first one has been developed from the Full-Text Database of Doctoral Theses of the Jagiellonian University Medical College defended in the years 2004-2011, which was migrated from the Alfresco system to the dLibra system in 2012, and the second collection was created under the SYNAT program in the years 2012-2013. The JU MC Medical Library has been collecting and maintaining doctoral theses. They have been available for users under a non-exclusive license agreement with the authors. Once a thesis has been cataloged in the Virtua/VTLS system, both for-mally and concerning the subject, the metadata are imported to the dLibra system. Each doctoral thesis published in The Database of Doctoral Theses is accompanied by an author’s abstract and a list of keywords both in English and Polish. Proper metadata provide simple and easy access to resources and the broader availability of this digital collection. The Database of Doctoral Theses is of great value as it contains the research output of the Jagiellonian University Medical College. In response to the growing demand from users and their changing needs and in order to make the resources more accessible, the JU MC Medical Library will develop the Digital Medical Library according to the regulations in force and building on examples of international institutions.

Academic writing is one of the fundamental aspects within the writing of scientific texts, among which the refereed articles and doctoral theses stand out. For this reason, the objective of this research was to describe the most important contributions of academic writing models for the writing of scientific articles and doctoral theses. The theoretical foundation was based on authors such as Flower and Hayes (1981), Hayes (1996), Villasmil (2012) and Villasmil, Fuenmayor and García (2014), regarding aspects such as: 1.- Writing and congnition; 2.- Link between writing and the emotional and motivational aspects of the writer; 3.- Semiotics and academic writing; 4.-Production of scientific texts; 5. Linguistic strategies for writing. The methodology was descriptive-contrastive in nature, since after analyzing and comparing the writing models, their main contributions were highlighted. The results obtained were that each of the positions that the models contemplated from the cognitive, emotional and linguistic point of view are important for the writing of any scientific text. The use of these writing models is recommended, in order to obtain scientific texts that develop interesting contributions to the scientific plane. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The present article represent the bibliometric studies of the doctoral dissertation for the period from 1980-2019 which had awarded in the faculty of Animal Husbandry at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensingh in the field of Animal Science, Animal Nutrition, Animal Breading & Genetics, Dairy Science and Poultry Science. The Dissertation of Ph.D. theseshave been analyzed and identified subject-wise, year-wise, gender-wise and guide-wise distribution during the period from 1980 to 2019. This university is producing quality agricultural scholars, scientists and technologists to take up their place in the agricultural development of the country. So this study and analysis have been prepared for the bett erment of the innovative works for researchers and agricultural scientists and to ensure more masterpiece works in this discipline.
