The dovetail of ceramic matrix composites（CMC）turbine blade is the key to the assembly and ability to withstand centrifugal loads of the blade. In order to study the mechanical behaviour of the blade dovetail prepared by the melt infiltration（MI）method under the tensile load in the radial direction of rotating，and verify the influence of the internal quality of the dovetail on its static tensile strength and failure mode，the CMC high pressure turbine dovetail element specimens were designed and fabricated，and a uniaxial static tensile test was conducted，the internal quality of the test specimens was scanned using non-destructive X-ray CT. The test process was monitored using DIC and acoustic emission method. The results show that the CMC dovetail is able to maintain in complete contact under uniaxial static tensile loads，and its static strength and failure are very sensitive to its internal quality，especially to the delamination defects. When there are no delamination defects in the dovetail，the damage generally starts from the neck and quickly spreads，the damage starting load is near the maximum fracture load，and the fracture surface is zigzag. When there are delamination defects in the dovetail，the fracture starts from the defects，and the delamination gradually spread and cause the fracture surface of the dovetail，the damage starting load is decreased by 99.05%，and the maximum failure load is decreased by 14.29% compared to the case of no delamination defects，and the fracture surface is consistent with the delamination defects.

The development of advanced nuclear energy systems imposes stringent requirements on the service stability of nuclear materials under extreme environments characterized by multiple stressors. Continuous silicon-carbide-fiber-reinforced silicon carbide (SiCf/SiC) ceramic matrix composites possess advantages such as low density, excellent high-temperature mechanical properties,corrosion resistance, and irradiation tolerance. Furthermore, SiCf/SiC composites demonstrate a pseudo-ductile fracture behavior under external forces, positioning them as highly promising structural materials for advanced nuclear energy systems. This study systematically summarizes the fundamental research framework on nuclear-grade SiCf/SiC composites at the material, component,and service performance levels. It also analyzes the developmental trends in this field among traditional nuclear powerhouses such as the United States, France, and Japan, as well as in other emerging nuclear energy countries and China. Furthermore, the study identifies existing issues and challenges faced by China’s nuclear-grade SiCf/SiC sector in terms of raw materials, data accumulation,and patent standards, and proposes targeted measures and suggestions: (1) strengthening the research and development of material preparation technologies, (2) developing a new paradigm of research and development, (3) reinforcing the industry-universityresearch-application cooperation, and (4) enhancing international exchanges on the basis of maintaining independence. The aim of the study is to provide guidance and reference for the research directions and policy-making in China’s nuclear-grade SiCf/SiC sector.

In this work, a high-performance electromagnetic wave (EMW) absorber is prepared by the in situ growth of BN and SiC into a self-assembled 3D graphene skeleton via chemical vapor infiltration (CVI). The porous conductive graphene network extends the transmission path of incident microwaves by multiple scattering, and the ceramic coating effectively improves the impedance matching degree. Notably, the EMW absorbing performance of 3D-rGO/BN/SiC can be regulated by the high-temperature oxidation in air. Compared to the original absorbers, after being oxidized at 600 °C for 4 h in air, the optimal RLmin of the composites drops to −47.1 dB and the broadest EAB reaches 11.96 GHz, which can be attributed to the enhanced impedance matching degree. The controllable fabrication of 3D-rGO/BN/SiC composites can provide a guideline for rational design and fabrication of high-performance EMW absorbing materials in practical applications under medium oxidizing temperature. The bulk photovoltaic effect (BPVE) in non-centrosymmetric materials has attracted significant attention in recent years due to its potential to surpass the Shockley-Queisser limit. Although these materials are strictly constrained by symmetry, progress has been made in artificially reducing symmetry to stimulate BPVE in wider systems. However, the complexity of these techniques has hindered their practical implementation. In this study, we demonstrate a large intrinsic photocurrent response in centrosymmetric topological insulator Ag2Te, attributed to the surface photogalvanic effect (SPGE), which is induced by symmetry reduction of the surface. Through diverse spatially-resolved measurements on specially designed devices, we directly observe that SPGE in Ag2Te arises from the difference between two opposite photocurrent flows generated from the top and bottom surfaces. Acting as an efficient SPGE material, Ag2Te demonstrates robust performance across a wide spectral range from visible to mid-infrared, making it promising for applications in solar cells and mid-infrared detectors. More importantly, SPGE generated on low-symmetric surfaces can potentially be found in various systems, thereby inspiring a broader range of choices for photovoltaic materials. The bulk photovoltaic effect holds promise for various optoelectronic applications, but it is usually restricted to non-centrosymmetric materials operating in the visible range. TaxHf1–xC are promising candidates for many applications under harsh environments due to their unique properties. Up until now, low‐temperature densification is still a big challenge for these ceramics. Moreover, the effect of Ta:Hf ratio on microstructure development and mechanical behavior of the ceramics is not clear. In this work, highly dense TaxHf1−xC–SiC ceramics (x = 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8) were fabricated at 1700°C by a novel reactive hot‐pressing processing with 8 wt% Si as sintering aid, which present excellent mechanical properties. Fracture toughness of the ceramics is higher than 6.3 MPa·m1/2, with the highest toughness achieved in Ta0.6Hf0.4C–SiC (8.5 MPa·m1/2). With the increase of Ta content, hardness of the ceramics tends to increase, while the bending strength tends to decrease. The highest bending strength is achieved in Ta0.2Hf0.8C–SiC (637 MPa), and the highest hardness is achieved in Ta0.8Hf0.2C–SiC (17.6 GPa).
