This study investigated the differences between Chinese female and male university students regarding the relationship between conscientiousness, interpersonal relationships, and social loafing. By analyzing these relationships, this study interpreted how personality, mediators, and gender differences affect social loafing. In total, 827 Chinese university students were recruited from three universities in Xi'an, Shaanxi, China. Students completed an online questionnaire, which included a conscientiousness scale, an interpersonal relationship scale, and a social loafing scale. Structural equation modeling was performed to test the validity of the measurement scales, mediating effects, and group differences. The findings revealed that the relationship between conscientiousness, interpersonal relationships, and social loafing differed between female and male Chinese university students. Interpersonal relationships served as a partial mediator in the relationship between conscientiousness and social loafing among female students. Interpersonal relationships did not play a mediating role in the relationship between conscientiousness and social loafing among male students. We suggest that university administrators should promote cooperation among Chinese university students.

Abstract Background A knowledge of gouty arthritis could help in the primary prevention of the disease development and lead to an early diagnosis if it occurs. This study investigated the knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) toward gouty arthritis in the general population > 30 years old. Methods This web-based cross-sectional study was conducted among the general population > 30 years old between January and March 2023 in Chengdu, Sichuan. The questionnaire was designed by the investigators based on the available guidelines (Cronbach’s α = 0.846). A score above 70% indicated good knowledge, a positive attitude, and proactive practice. Multivariable and structural equation modeling (SEM) analyses were performed to analyze the factors influencing KAP. Results A total of 537 questionnaires were included. The knowledge, attitudes, and practices scores were 13.12 ± 6.41, 25.28 ± 3.97, and 45.25 ± 5.77, respectively. Abstract Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) affecting 1 in 3500–5000 live male newborns is the frequently fatal genetic disease resulted from various mutations in DMD gene encoding dystrophin protein. About 70% of DMD-causing mutations are exon deletion leading to frameshift of open reading frame and dystrophin deficiency. To facilitate translating human DMD-targeting CRISPR therapeutics into patients, we herein establish a genetically humanized mouse model of DMD by replacing exon 50 and 51 of mouse Dmd gene with human exon 50 sequence. This humanized mouse model recapitulats patient’s DMD phenotypes of dystrophin deficiency and muscle dysfunction. Furthermore, we target splicing sites in human exon 50 with adenine base editor to induce exon skipping and robustly restored dystrophin expression in heart, tibialis anterior and diaphragm muscles. Importantly, systemic delivery of base editor via adeno-associated virus in the humanized male mouse model improves the muscle function of DMD mice to the similar level of wildtype ones, indicating the therapeutic efficacy of base editing strategy in treating most of DMD types with exon deletion or point mutations via exon-skipping induction.

Abstract The influence of precipitated nanophases on the mechanical properties of Fe-based amorphous nanocrystalline alloys is an urgent issue to be explored. Two amorphous nanocrystalline alloys, i.e., (Fe0.9Ni0.1)86B14 and (Fe0.7Ni0.3)86B14 containing nanophase of the body-centered cubic and face-centered cubic structures, respectively, were selected to investigate the effect of the structure and volume fraction of nanophase on their mechanical properties. The results of nanoindentation experiments and the calculation of the volume and size of the shear transition zone reveal that the two alloys show different mechanical properties. When the volume fraction of the nanophase in (Fe0.9Ni0.1)86B14 is larger than 50%, the elastic modulus is increased suddenly and the volume and size of the shear transition zone is decreased dramatically, while no dramatic change occurs in (Fe0.7Ni0.3)86B14. Moreover, it was found by using molecular dynamics simulations that the main reason for these abnormal mechanical properties is the change of cluster type in the system due to the incorporation of nanophases with different structures.

Abstract Background Breast cancer has become a major public health problem in the current society, and its incidence rate ranks the first among Chinese female malignant tumors. This paper once again confirmed the efficacy of lncRNA in tumor regulation by introducing the mechanism of the diagnosis of breast cancer by the MIR497HG/miR-16-5p axis. Methods The abnormal expression of MIR497HG in breast cancer was determined by RT-qPCR method, and the correlation between MIR497HG expression and clinicopathological characteristics of breast cancer patients was analyzed via Chi-square test. To understand the diagnostic potential of MIR497HG in breast cancer by drawing the receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC). The overexpressed MIR497HG (pcDNA3.1-MIR497HG) was designed and constructed to explore the regulation of elevated MIR497HG on biological function of BT549 and Hs 578T cells through Transwell assays. Additionally, the luciferase gene reporter assay and Pearson analysis evaluated the targeting relationship of MIR497HG to miR-16-5p. Results MIR497HG was decreased in breast cancer and had high diagnostic function, while elevated MIR497HG inhibited the migration and invasion of BT549 and Hs 578T cells. In terms of functional mechanism, miR-16-5p was the target of MIR497HG, and MIR497HG reversely regulated the miR-16-5p. miR-16-5p mimic reversed the effects of upregulated MIR497HG on cell biological function. Conclusions In general, MIR497HG was decreased in breast cancer, and the MIR497HG/miR-16-5p axis regulated breast cancer tumorigenesis, providing effective insights for the diagnosis of patients.

The effect of the volume fraction of nanocrystals on the macroscopic mechanical properties and microscopic atomic structure of Fe-based nanocrystalline alloys, as well as the relationship between the two, is an urgent issue to be explored. Seven nanocrystalline alloys with different volume fractions of nanocrystals were formed by annealing treatment of (Fe0·9Ni0.1)86B14 amorphous precursor. Through hardness, flat plate bending, and nanoindentation experiments, it is found that when the volume fraction of nanocrystals reaches the range of 45–55 %, there is an abrupt change in the macroscopic mechanical properties. Specifically, when the volume fraction is less than this range, the properties inherit the amorphous matrix, however, larger than this range, the properties are dominated by precipitated nanocrystalline phases. Meanwhile, based on the molecular dynamics simulation method, seven Fe90Ni10 amorphous nanocrystalline models with different volume fractions of body-centered cubic nanocrystals are established, and the deformation mechanism of models and the evolution of their microstructures during the nanoindentation process are obtained intuitively. Moreover, it is further revealed that the significant changes in the Voronoi polyhedral index, which represents the microscopic atomic structure in this range of nanocrystal volume fractions, are the main reason for the abrupt changes in the mechanical properties at the macroscopic level.

Abstract Recently, the Belle II collaboration announced the first measurement of the branching ratio B B + → K + ν ν ¯ $$ \mathcal{B}\left({B}^{+}\to {K}^{+}\nu \overline{\nu}\right) $$ , which is found to be about 2.7σ higher than the Standard Model (SM) prediction. We decipher the data with two new physics scenarios: the underlying quark-level b → sν ν ¯ $$ b\to s\nu \overline{\nu} $$ transition is, besides the SM contribution, further affected by heavy new mediators that are much heavier than the electroweak scale, or amended by an additional decay channel with undetected light final states like dark matter or axion-like particles. These two scenarios can be most conveniently analyzed in the SM effective field theory (SMEFT) and the dark SMEFT (DSMEFT) framework, respectively. We consider the flavour structures of the resulting effective operators to be either generic or satisfy the minimal flavour violation (MFV) hypothesis, both for the quark and lepton sectors. In the first scenario, once the MFV assumption is made, only one SM-like low-energy effective operator induced by the SMEFT dimension-six operators can account for the Belle II excess, whose parameter space is, however, excluded by the Belle upper bound of the branching ratio B B 0 → K ∗ 0 ν ν ¯ $$ \mathcal{B}\left({B}^0\to {K}^{\ast 0}\nu \overline{\nu}\right) $$ . In the second scenario, it is found that the Belle II excess can be accommodated by 22 of the DSMEFT operators involving one or two scalar, fermionic, or vector dark matters as well as axion-like particles. These operators also receive dominant constraints from the B 0 → K *0 + inv and B s → inv decays. Once the MFV hypothesis is assumed, the number of viable operators is reduced to 14, and the B + → π + + inv and K + → π + + inv decays start to put further constraints on them. Within the parameter space allowed by all the current experimental data, the q 2 distributions of the B → K (*) + inv decays are then studied for each viable operator. We find that the resulting prediction of the operator Q qχ = q ¯ p γ μ q r χ ¯ γ μ χ $$ {\mathcal{Q}}_{q\chi}=\left({\overline{q}}_p{\gamma}_{\mu }{q}_r\right)\left(\overline{\chi}{\gamma}^{\mu}\chi \right) $$ with a fermionic dark matter mass m χ ≈ 700 MeV can closely match the Belle II event distribution in the bins 2 ≤ q 2 ≤ 7 GeV2. In addition, we, for the first time, calculate systematically the longitudinal polarization fraction F L of K * in the B → K * + inv decays within the DLEFT. By combining the decay spectra and F L , almost all the DSMEFT operators are found to be distinguishable from each other. Finally, the future prospects at Belle II, CEPC and FCC-ee are also discussed for some of these FCNC processes.

Abstract Purpose Awake extubation and deep extubation are commonly used anesthesia techniques. In this study, the safety of propofol-assisted deep extubation in the dental treatment of children was assessed. Materials and methods Children with severe caries who received dental treatment under general anesthesia and deep extubation between January 2017 and June 2023 were included in this study. Data were collected on the following variables: details and time of anesthesia, perioperative vital signs, and incidence of postoperative complications. The incidence of laryngeal spasm (LS) was considered to be the primary observation indicator. Results The perioperative data obtained from 195 children undergoing dental treatment was reviewed. The median age was 4.2 years (range: 2.3 to 9.6 years), and the average duration of anesthesia was 2.56 h (range 1 to 4.5 h). During intubation with a videoscope, purulent mucus was found in the pharyngeal cavity of seven children (3.6%); LS occurred in five of them (2.6%), and one child developed a fever (T = 37.8 °C) after discharge. Five children (2.6%) experienced emergence agitation (EA) in the recovery room. Also, 13 children (6.7%) experienced epistaxis; 10 had a mild experience and three had a moderate experience. No cases of airway obstruction (AO) and hypoxemia were recorded. The time to open eyes (TOE) was 16.3 ± 7.2 min. The incidence rate of complications was 23/195 (11.8%). The ultra-thick coal seam has a large mining space and a wide range of overburden disturbance. The strong disturbance of loading and unloading caused by the roof collapse can easily exacerbate the failure of floor faults. Studying the mechanism of the linkage effect between water inrush from the floor fault and roof collapse in ultra-thick coal seam through numerical simulation is the basis for water hazard prevention and control. The key lies in understanding the coupling characteristics of progressive rock failure and fracture flow under loading and unloading. In this study, the evolution equations of tension and shear damage under loading and unloading were constructed, and combined with the yield criterion and plastic potential function with effective partial/spherical stress as the basic variable, the plastic-damage constitutive model of intact rock was obtained. The relationship between plastic displacement and strength deterioration during tension/shear/mixed loading and unloading was established, using the square tensile shear stress and B-K criterion as initial and complete fracture criteria, the fracture constitutive model of non-penetrating fracture was formed. The separation, compression and shear criteria of discrete rock blocks were put forward, and the extrusion, shear friction constitutive and dilation equations between discrete blocks were established based on experimental data. Based on the conservation of mass/momentum, the equation of state, and combined with the method of fluid volume and immersion boundary, the simulation theory of gas-water two-phase flow in the fractured rock mass was formed. Thus, the CFDEM numerical calculation program was developed, and the plastic damage, fracture, extrusion/friction, and fluid properties under loading and unloading were assigned to solid elements (rock blocks), cohesion elements (non-penetrating cracks), contact pairs (penetrating cracks), and Euler units (water and gas) respectively. According to the engineering geological conditions in the northern mining area of Ningwu coalfield, a numerical calculation model of linkage effect between water inrush from floor fault and roof collapse in extra-thick coal seam was established. The results indicate that ① the CFDEM coupling program and corresponding theoretical models can numerically achieve the transformation of overlying rocks and floor faults in ultra-thick coal seams from quasi-continuous to discrete rock, as well as the migration of groundwater in fractures. ② Under simulated conditions, the mining fractures envelope line of the fault floor of the ultra-thick coal seam is w-shaped, with the deepest point exceeding 55 m located on the fault and its hanging wall, the shallowest point 23 m located on the footwall of the fault, and the failure depth at the intact floor is 24−36 m, which has already connected to the Ordovician limestone aquifer. ③ Secondary damage is commonly observed on the floor of ultra-thick coal seam. The failure depth of the intact floor at the advanced working face is 24.0−29.3 m, but it generally increases to 31.5−36.0 m in the goaf. The total cracks opening of the fault and its hanging wall at the advanced working face is 0.34−0.86 m, but it rapidly increases to 3.6 m in the goaf, forming a dominant channel for water inrush. ④ The linkage effect of water inrush from floor fault and roof collapse is rooted in the collapse instability of key strata in overlying strata, the sinking of masonry beams and the secondary fracture, which leads to the secondary damage of floor and aggravates the risk of water inrush.

With the rapid advancement of 5G technology, the Internet of Things (IoT) has entered a new phase of applications and is rapidly becoming a significant force in promoting economic development. Due to the vast amounts of data created by numerous 5G IoT devices, the Ethereum platform has become a tool for the storage and sharing of IoT device data, thanks to its open and tamper-resistant characteristics. So, Ethereum account security is necessary for the Internet of Things to grow quickly and improve people's lives. By modeling Ethereum transaction records as a transaction network, the account types are well identified by the Ethereum account classification system established based on Graph Neural Networks (GNNs). This work first investigates the Ethereum transaction network. Surprisingly, experimental metrics reveal that the Ethereum transaction network is neither optimal nor even satisfactory in terms of accurately representing transactions per account. This flaw may significantly impede the classification capability of GNNs, which is mostly governed by their attributes. This work proposes an Adaptive Multi-channel Bayesian Graph Attention Network (AMBGAT) for Ethereum account classification to address this difficulty. AMBGAT uses attention to enhance node features, estimate graph topology that conforms to the ground truth, and efficiently extract node features pertinent to downstream tasks. An extensive experiment with actual Ethereum transaction data demonstrates that AMBGAT obtains competitive performance in the classification of Ethereum accounts while accurately estimating the graph topology.

Abstract Background Treatment efficacy may differ among patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) at similar tumor–node–metastasis stages. Moreover, end-of-treatment tumor regression is a reliable indicator of treatment sensitivity. This study aimed to investigate whether quantitative dual-energy computed tomography (DECT) parameters could predict sensitivity to neck–lymph node radiotherapy in patients with NPC. Methods Overall, 388 lymph nodes were collected from 98 patients with NPC who underwent pretreatment DECT. The patients were divided into complete response (CR) and partial response (PR) groups. Clinical characteristics and quantitative DECT parameters were compared between the groups, and the optimal predictive ability of each parameter was determined using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis. A nomogram prediction model was constructed and validated using univariate and binary logistic regression. Results DECT parameters were higher in the CR group than in the PR group. The iodine concentration (IC), normalized IC, Mix-0.6, spectral Hounsfield unit curve slope, effective atomic number, and virtual monoenergetic images were significantly different between the groups. The area under the ROC curve of the DECT parameters was 0.73–0.77. Based on the binary logistic regression, a column chart was constructed using 10 predictive factors, including age, sex, N stage, maximum lymph node diameter, arterial phase NIC, venous phase NIC, λHU and spectral Hounsfield units at 70 keV. The area under the ROC curve value of the constructed model was 0.813, with a sensitivity and specificity of 85.6% and 81.3%, respectively. Conclusion Quantitative DECT parameters could effectively predict the sensitivity of NPC to radiotherapy. Therefore, DECT parameters and NPC clinical features can be combined to construct a nomogram with high predictive power and used as a clinical analytical tool.

Abstract To investigate the effect and safety of percutaneous endovascular angioplasty (PEA) with optional stenting for the treatment of severe stenosis or occlusion of subclavian artery, patients with severe stenosis ≥ 70% or occlusion of subclavian artery treated with PEA were retrospectively enrolled. The clinical data were analyzed. A total of 222 patients were retrospectively enrolled, including 151 males (68.0%) and 71 females (32.0%) aged 48–86 (mean 63.9 ± 9.0) years. Forty-seven (21.2%) patients had comorbidities. Subclavian artery stenosis ≥ 70% was present in 201 (90.5%) patients and complete subclavian occlusion in 21 (9.5%) cases. Angioplasty was successfully performed in all (100%) patients. Balloon-expandable stents were used in 190 (85.6%) cases, and self-expandable stents in 20 (9.0%) cases. Only 12 (5.4%) cases were treated with balloon dilation only. Among 210 patients treated with stent angioplasty, 71 (33.8% or 71/210) cases underwent balloon pre-dilation, 139 (66.2% or 139/210) had direct deployment of balloon-expandable stents, and 2 (1.0% or 2/210) experienced balloon post-dilation. Distal embolization protection devices were used in 5 (2.3% or 5/222) cases. Periprocedural complications occurred in 3 (1.4%) patients, including aortic dissection in 2 (0.9%) cases and right middle cerebral artery embolism in 1 (0.5%). No hemorrhage occurred. Among 182 (82.0%) patients with 6-month follow-up, restenosis > 70% occurred in 1 (0.5%) patient, and among 68 (30.6%) patients with 12-month follow-up, restenosis > 70% took place in 11 (16.2%) patients. Percutaneous endovascular angioplasty can be safely and efficiently performed for the treatment of severe stenosis ≥ 70% or occlusion of subclavian artery.

Abstract To increase the production of biomass and astaxanthin from Haematococcus pluvialis to meet the high market demand for astaxanthin, this study recruited two typical and negligible phytohormones (namely resveratrol and catechol) for the stepwise treatments of H. pluvialis. It was found that the hybrid and sequential treatments of resveratrol (200 μmol) and catechol (100 μmol) had achieved the maximum astaxanthin content at 33.96 mg/L and 42.99 mg/L, respectively. Compared with the hybrid treatment, the physiological data of H. pluvialis using the sequential strategy revealed that the enhanced photosynthetic performance via the Calvin cycle by RuBisCO improved the biomass accumulation during the macrozooid stage; meanwhile, the excessive ROS production had occurred to enhance astaxanthin production with the help of NADPH overproduction during the hematocyst stage. Overall, this study provides improved knowledge of the impacts of phytohormones in improving biomass and astaxanthin of H. pluvialis, which shed valuable insights for advancing microalgae-based biorefinery.

Abstract The stalk of Allium fistulosum contains dietary fibers with complicated monosaccharide composition and glycosidic bond linkages, which renders it a better dietary fiber supplement. However, the unfavorable odor, majorly contributed by allicin, limits its applications. Although many physical and chemical methods have been developed to remove allicin, there is currently no comparison between their efficiencies. Here, we comprehensively compare all these methods of eliminating allicin in the Allium stalk by starting with optimization of the allicin extraction method. Results indicate that incubation of the chopped Allium stalk with water for 20 min and extraction with 75% ethanol reached a maximal extraction yield. Different methods of allicin elimination are examined, and physical removal of allicin by blanching at 100 °C reaches a maximal clearance rate of 73.3%, rendering it the most efficient and effective method eliminating allicin from the stalk of Allium fistulosum for the preparation of a totally green dietary fiber.

Polygonatum hunanense H.H. Liu & B.Z. Wang (2021) and P. verticillatum (L.) All. (1875) have been widely used as foods and as folk medicines in China and India, and P. caulialatum S. R. Yi (2021) has recently been described as a new medical plant in China. There is at present a lack of genome information regarding the species. Hence, this study reports the complete chloroplast genomes of the three species. The genomes of P. hunanense, P. verticillatum, and P. caulialatum were 155,583 bp, 155,650 bp, and 155,352 bp in length, respectively. They contained large single-copy (LSC) regions of 84,412 bp, 84,404 bp, and 84,285 bp, small single-copy (SSC) regions of 18,427 bp, 18,416 bp, and 18,463 bp, and a pair of inverted repeats of 26,372 bp, 26,415 bp, and 26,302 bp, respectively. The chloroplast genomes of P. hunanense, P. verticillatum, and P. caulialatum had 133 (103 unique) genes, consisting of 87 protein-coding genes, 38 ribosomal ribonucleic acid (RNA) genes, and eight transfer RNA genes, respectively. A maximum-likelihood phylogenetic tree showed that P. kingianum Coll. et Hemsl. var. grandifolium D.M. Liu & W.Z. Zeng (1991) was closer to P. cyrtonema Hua (1892) rather than to P. kingianum Coll. et Hemsl. (1890), further supporting its status as a unique species of the genus. Moreover, P. verticillatum was separated from the easily confused herb P. cirrhifolium (Wall.) Royle (1839), while P. caulialatum was closest to P. humile Fisch. ex Maxim. (1859). This research provides a foundation for further study of these herbs.

Introduction: Entry into the viable but nonculturable (VBNC) state is a survival strategy adopted by bacteria to survive harsh environment. Although VBNC cells still have metabolic activity, they lose the ability to form colonies on nonselective culture media. Thus, conventional bacterial detection methods, such as plate counting, are unable to detect the presence of VBNC cells. When the environmental conditions are appropriate, VBNC cells can initiate resuscitation, posing a great risk to the safety of public health. The study of the VBNC resuscitation mechanism could provide new insights into the prevention and control of VBNC resuscitation. Objectives: Uncovering the molecular mechanism of VBNC cell resuscitation by investigating the role of O-antigen ligase (RfaL) in inhibiting the resuscitation of Escherichia coli O157:H7 in the VBNC state. Methods: RfaL was screened and verified as a resuscitation inhibitor of VBNC Escherichia coli O157:H7 by detecting resuscitation curve and time-lapse microscopy. The mechanism of RfaL impacts VBNC E. coli resuscitation was investigated by detecting the single cell ATP content, metabolomic changes, NAD(H) content and new protein biosynthesis of WT and ΔrfaL at different stage of resuscitation. Results: Mutation of rfaL, which encoded an O-antigen ligase, markedly shortened the resuscitating lag phase. Further studies indicated that ΔrfaL VBNC cells contained higher ATP levels, and ATP consumption during the resuscitating lag phase was highly correlated with resuscitation efficiency. Metabolomic analysis revealed that ATP was utilized to activate the Handler and salvage pathways to synthesize NAD+, balancing redox reactions to recover cell activity and promote cell resuscitation. Conclusion: Our findings revealed a strategy employed by VBNC cells for revival, that is, using residual ATP to primarily recover metabolic activity, driving cells to exit dormancy. The synthesis pathway of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) in rfaL null mutant was inhibited and could supply more ATP to synthesis NAD+ and promote resuscitation.

Pulmonary fibrosis （PF） is a chronic progressive lung disease that poses a serious health risk. It is mainly characterized by abnormal fibrosis and scarring of lung tissues， resulting in the gradual replacement of alveoli with fibrous tissues and ultimately respiratory failure， posing a serious threat to human health. To date， the treatment of PF has been a formidable challenge. However， in recent years， with the rise of precision medicine concepts and emerging therapies， the understanding and treatment strategies of PF have been ever advanced. This article provides a comprehensive review of recent research advances in PF within the field of precision medicine， from the perspectives of both molecular biology and genetics， as well as emerging therapeutic strategies， aiming to reveal the potential for tapping into emerging therapeutic strategies using molecular biological tools such as high-throughput bioinformatics technology and analysis. In-depth understanding of these advances can help to better elucidate the pathophysiological processes of PF and provide novel ideas and strategies for future clinical practice， thereby improving patients’ clinical prognosis and quality of life.

Abstract In recent years, knowledge graph technology has been widely applied in various fields such as intelligent auditing, urban transportation planning, legal research, and financial analysis. In traditional auditing methods, there are inefficiencies in data integration and analysis, making it difficult to achieve deep correlation analysis and risk identification among data. Additionally, decision support systems in the auditing process may face issues of insufficient information interpretability and limited predictive capability, thus affecting the quality of auditing and the scientificity of decision-making. However, knowledge graphs, by constructing rich networks of entity relationships, provide deep knowledge support for areas such as intelligent search, recommendation systems, and semantic understanding, significantly improving the accuracy and efficiency of information processing. This presents new opportunities to address the challenges of traditional auditing techniques. In this paper, we investigate the integration of intelligent auditing and knowledge graphs, focusing on the application of knowledge graph technology in auditing work for power engineering projects. We particularly emphasize mainstream key technologies of knowledge graphs, such as data extraction, knowledge fusion, and knowledge graph reasoning. We also introduce the application of knowledge graph technology in intelligent auditing, such as improving auditing efficiency and identifying auditing risks. Furthermore, considering the environment of cloud-edge collaboration to reduce computing latency, knowledge graphs can also play an important role in intelligent auditing. By integrating knowledge graph technology with cloud-edge collaboration, distributed computing and data processing can be achieved, reducing computing latency and improving the response speed and efficiency of intelligent auditing systems. Finally, we summarize the current research status, outlining the challenges faced by knowledge graph technology in the field of intelligent auditing, such as scalability and security. At the same time, we elaborate on the future development trends and opportunities of knowledge graphs in intelligent auditing.

Abstract Colorectal cancer (CRC) remains a significant global health issue with high incidence and mortality. Yin Yang 1 (YY1) is a powerful transcription factor that acts dual roles in gene activation and repression. High expression level of YY1 has been reported in CRC, indicating the existence of stable factors of YY1 in CRC cells. We aimed to identify the key molecules and underlying mechanisms responsible for stabilizing YY1 expression in CRC. Mass spectrometry analysis was utilized to identify USP7 as a potential molecule that interacted with YY1. Mechanically, USP7 stabilizes YY1 expression at the protein level by interfering its K63 linkage ubiquitination. YY1 exerts its oncogenic function through transcriptionally activating TRIAP1 but suppressing LC3B. In addition, at the pathological level, there is a positive correlation between the expression of YY1 and the budding of CRC. This study has revealed the intricate interplay between YY1 and USP7 in CRC, suggesting that they could serve as novel therapeutic targets or predictive biomarkers for CRC patients.

Abstract To investigate the significance of atherosclerotic plaque location in hybrid surgery comprising both endovascular recanalization approaches and carotid endarterectomy for symptomatic atherosclerotic non-acute long-segment occlusion of the internal carotid artery (ICA), 162 patients were enrolled, including 120 (74.1%) patients in the proximal plaque group and 42 (25.9%) in the distal plaque group. Surgical recanalization was performed in all patients, with successful recanalization in 119 (99.2%) patients in the proximal and 39 (92.9%) in the distal plaque group. The total successful recanalization rate was 97.5% (158/162) with a failure rate of 2.5% (4/162). Periprocedural complications occurred in 5 (4.2% or 5/120) patients in the proximal plaque group, including neck infection in two (1.7%), recurrent nerve injury in 1 (0.8%), and laryngeal edema in 2 (1.7%), and 2 (4.8%) in the distal plaque group, including femoral puncture infection in 2 (4.8%). No severe complications occurred in either group. Univariate analysis showed plaque location was a significant (P = 0.018) risk factor for successful recanalization, and multivariate analysis indicated that the plaque location remained a significant independent risk factor for recanalization success (P = 0.017). In follow-up 6–48 months after the recanalization surgery, reocclusion occurred in two (2.8%) patients in the proximal plaque group and 4 (13.3%) in the distal plaque group. In conclusion, although hybrid surgery achieves similar outcomes in patients with ICA occlusion caused by either proximal or distal atherosclerotic plaques, plaque location may be a significant risk factor for successful recanalization of symptomatic non-acute long-segment ICA occlusion.

In this study, all species of the leaf-beetle genus Sinoluperus Gressitt & Kimoto, 1963 from China are redescribed based on the reexamination of type specimens, and a new species, S. variegatus sp. nov. from Nanling Mountains, is described. A key to the three Chinese species of Sinoluperus is provided, as well as photographs of the habiti and aedeagi of these species.

Abstract Background This systemic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the clinical outcomes of proximal humeral fracture in elderly patient fixation using locked plate with or without cement augmentation. Methods The databases of PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library were searched in August 2023 for literature comparing the clinical outcomes of patients with PHFs treated with locked plate alone and locked plate augmented with cement. Data describing study design; level of evidence; inclusion criteria; demographic information; final follow-up; revision rate; implant failure rate; avascular necrosis rate; total complication rate; constant score; and disability of arm, shoulder, and hand (DASH) score were collected. Abstract Aging is a recognized risk factor for periodontitis, while biological aging could provide more accurate insights into an individual's functional status. This study aimed to investigate the potential association between biological aging and periodontitis. Epidemiological data from 9803 participants in the 2009–2014 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey were analyzed at a cross-sectional level to assess this link. Three biological ages [Klemera–Doubal method (KDM), PhenoAge, and homeostatic dysregulation (HD)] and two measures of accelerated biological aging (BioAgeAccel and PhenoAgeAccel) were set as primary exposure and were calculated. Logistic regression and restricted cubic spline regression were employed to examine the relationship between biological aging and periodontitis. Additionally, Mendelian randomization analysis was conducted to explore the causal connection between accelerated biological aging and periodontitis. After adjusting for age, gender, race, educational level, marital status, ratio of family income, and disease conditions, this study, found a significant association between subjects with older higher biological ages, accelerated biological aging, and periodontitis. Specifically, for a per year increase in the three biological ages (HD, KDM, and PhenoAge), the risk of periodontitis increases by 15%, 3%, and 4% respectively. Individuals who had positive BioAgeAccel or PhenoAgeAccel were 20% or 37% more likely to develop periodontitis compared with those who had negative BioAgeAccel or PhenoAgeAccel. Furthermore, a significant non-linear positive relationship was observed between the three biological ages, accelerated biological aging, and periodontitis. However, the Mendelian randomization analysis indicated no causal effect of accelerated biological aging on periodontitis. Our findings suggest that biological aging may contribute to the risk of periodontitis, highlighting the potential utility of preventive strategies targeting aging-related pathways in reducing periodontitis risk among older adults.

This study compared the sentence hyperbole comprehension performance of Chinese poor readers with various levels of arithmetic proficiency. A total of 168 Chinese poor readers in Grade 1 were recruited, and their nonverbal intelligence, verbal working memory, Chinese receptive vocabulary, Chinese grammatical knowledge, character reading and morphological awareness were controlled. The reaction times of these students in correctly answering literal and inferential questions was selected for further comparison. Results of a mixed-effect model analysis show that the participants with good and poor arithmetic proficiency levels demonstrated similar levels of literal information comprehension, regardless of the presentation form of the quantifier construction that was built by the quantifier location of the sentences, the number of numeric characters in a single quantifier and the hyperbole function applied in the sentence quantifier. Students with good arithmetic proficiency also demonstrated faster response in comprehending quantifier inferential information. Primary school students with good arithmetic proficiency outperformed those with poor proficiency in the inferential reading of verbal numeric information. In addition, differences in arithmetic proficiency did not significantly affect the students' word/character semantic representation cognition and shallow literal information processing. Overall, the results distinguish the interaction and independent numerical information processes at the literal and inferential levels of text quantifier comprehension for young primary school students with poor reading proficiency.
