The plasmonic enhancement of conjugated polymer (CP) based light-emitting device calls for large scale and high quality plasmonic crystals (PlCs). Herein, silver nanocubes with diameters of 55 nm and 100 nm have been respectively assembled into closely packed PlC-55 and PlC-100 through oil-water interfacial assembly method. By coupling with the PlCs, the photoluminescence (PL) of polyfluorene copolymer can be enhanced in a broad range of excitation and emission wavelengths, exhibiting over 10-fold enhancement in PL intensity as the PlC-CP separation is controlled at 11 nm by using polyvinylalcohol as a spacer. The Purcell factors of CPs show both particle size and emission wavelength dependence, where the maximum value of 4.5 are found in CPs that are placed on PlC-100 at wavelengths near the CP emission peak.

Chilling injury is one of the major environmental stresses in rice cultivation in high-latitude and high-altitude regions. In this study, we cultivated a set of recombinant inbred lines (RILs) derived from Milyang 23 (indica)/Tong 88-7 (japonica) crosses in Kunming (high-altitude location), Yanji (high-latitude location), Chuncheon (cold water irrigation), and Suwon (normal) to evaluate the genotype × environment (G × E) interactions for chilling tolerance. RILs were the most severely damaged under the natural chilling air temperatures in Kunming. Significant G × E interactions in all measured agronomic traits were detected, and thus, the additive main effects and multiplicative interaction (AMMI) statistical model was applied to dissect the G × E interactions. The biplots of grand mean and IPCA1 (interaction principal component axes) of chilling-related traits accounted for most of the total treatment sums of squares. The IPCA scores of spikelet fertility and phenotypic acceptability were relatively smaller in Chuncheon than in Yanji and Kunming, implying that the screening for chilling tolerance with cold water irrigation in Chuncheon was more stable, whereas the Yanji and Kunming plantings were more sensitive to G × E interactions for chilling tolerance. These results demonstrate that multi-locational screening should be the best strategy for developing widely adaptable chilling-tolerant varieties in rice.

In this paper, a tetrazole derived diamine ligand of 2-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)pyridine (TP) owing electron-donors and short conjugation chain was synthesized to increase the band gap of its corresponding phosphorescent Cu(I) complex. This Cu(I) complex was characterized in detail, including its single crystal structure, singlet electronic transitions, photophysical parameters, thermal stability and electrochemical property. Upon on photoexcitation, this Cu(I) complex emitted green emission peaking at 497 nm with biexponential decay pattern of τ1 = 5.5414 μs (A1 = 0.137) and τ2 = 1.0679 μs (A2 = 0.11503). Cyclic voltammerty experiment suggested that this Cu(I) complex owned HOMO and LUMO energy levels of −5.79 eV and −2.39 eV. The thermal decomposition temperature was 170 °C as indicated by thermogravimetric analysis. The optimal electroluminescence device constructed by solution processed coating procedure showed green electroluminescence peaking at 525 nm, with maximum luminance of 2860 cd/m2 and maximum current efficiency of 5.9 cd/A.

Objective To compare the 5-year survival rates and complications of internal and external irradiation therapy combined with operation in patients with II-III period of cervical cancer.

The complete mitochondrial genome of Pseudobagrus ondon collected from the Qiantang River in Zhejiang Province was determined in this study with polymerase chain reaction. It contained 22 tRNA genes, 13 protein-coding genes, 2 rRNAs and a control region with the base composition 31.03% A, 27.92% C, 25.78% T and 15.27% G. It shared the arrangement pattern that was identical with most vertebrates. Here we compared the complete mitochondrial genome with another Pseudobagrus ondon species has been sequenced before discovering some differences between the two entities belong to the same species. The complete genome of the one in this study was 16,531 bp in length but the other was 16,534 bp. The variable sites and the genetic distances between them were 105 bp and 0.7%, respectively. There was 79 variable sites occurred in the protein-coding genes except that gene ATP8 and ND3 were the same sequences in the two mitogenomes. Considering that relatively little work has been done on the fishes of Pseudobagrus, we hope this study could make some contribution for the phylogenetic relationships of this group of fishes.

To summarize retrospectively the 5-year survival rates and long-term complication of stage Ib-IIIa cervical carcinoma treated by combination of subradical external radiation and brachytherapy plus radical operation.106 patients with cervical carcinoma were all treated by radical hysterectomy and pelvic lymphadenectomy, of whom 78 had had preoperative radiotherapy (external radiation and brachytherapy), 16 combination of brachytherapy and radical operation, 12 adjuvant postoperative radiotherapy (external radiation and brachytherapy). (60)Co was used for external radiation, in which the point B dose was 25 - 30 Gy in preoperative radiation and 40 - 50 Gy in postoperative radiation. (192)Ir high-dose-rate afterloading unit was used in brachytherapy, with a dose of 6 - 18 Gy at point A.The follow up rate was 95.3%. The overall 5-year survival rates were 78.2% (61/78) in the preoperative radiotherapy group, 68.8% (11/16) in brachytherapy plus radical operation, 33.3% (4/12) in the postoperative radiotherapy group, showing a higher 5-year survival rate in the preoperative radiotherapy group than the postoperative radiotherapy group (P0.05). In stage II patients, the preoperative radiotherapy group -77.6% (45/58) also gave a higher survival than the postoperative radiotherapy group -25.0% (1/4) (P0.05). But all the other groups gave differences of insignificance. The chief long-term complications were radio-proctitis and cystitis, with incidences of 34.6% (27/78), 31.3% (5/16), 33.3% (4/12) in the preoperative radiotherapy group, brachytherapy plus radical operation group and the postoperative radiotherapy group (P0.05).The overall 5-year survival rate of combined subradical external radiation and brachytherapy plus radical operation was obviously higher than that of postoperative radiotherapy for stage Ib-IIIa and II patients, with statistically significant differences. However, the incidence of long-term complications give no statistical significance in the preoperative radiotherapy group or brachytherapy plus the operation group as compared with the postoperative radiotherapy group.
