- Abstract
Careful patient selection is a key factor in optimizing the use of device-assisted enteroscopy (DAE) in Crohn's disease (CD). Current technologies include double-balloon enteroscopy and single-balloon enteroscopy which have similar efficiency and safety. DAE allows a variety of therapeutic interventions in the small bowel (SB). These include dilation of SB strictures which achieves promising results and should be preferred to surgery that can still be performed in the event of failure. DAE has developed into an indispensable part of clinical practice in the management of CD patients., Competing Interests: Disclosure H. Neuhaus and T.
