A growing number of emerging SARS-CoV-2 variants is being identified worldwide, potentially impacting the effectiveness of current vaccines. We report the data obtained in several Italian regions involved in the SARS-CoV-2 variant monitoring from the beginning of the epidemic and spanning the period from October 2020 to March 2021.

This dissertation investigates the linguistic contacts between Tocharian A and B and Khotanese and Tumshuqese, four languages once spoken in the Tarim basin, whose manuscripts can be dated from the 5th to the 10th c. CE. It offers the first comprehensive analysis of the Khotanese and Tumshuqese loanwords in Tocharian A and B. One of the conclusions of this dissertation is that the influence of Khotanese and Tumshuqese on Tocharian was much more extensive than previously thought and it spanned over almost two millennia, from the early Iron Age until the extinction of the four languages at the end of the first millennium CE. In fact, it is possible to distinguish this group of loanwords from the loanwords from Old Steppe Iranian, an unidentified Old Iranian language only known from loanwords into Tocharian, by means of precise sound correspondences. Moreover, the relative chronology of the Khotanese and Tumshuqese loanwords in Tocharian allows a unique glimpse into the linguistic prehistory of the two Eastern Middle Iranian languages.

Constructed in 1963, Building 157 is 113 m long and 43 m wide at ground level. The roof is 21.8 m high at the central point above a skylight running longitudinally down its centre; it has a slope of 20% running down to the longitudinal fac��ade summits at 15.6 m. The roof is 47.4 m wide as the longitudinal fac��ades include wings protruding 2.2 m from a height of 7.5 m to the summits, running the entire length of the building. The longitudinal fac��ades are made up of a variety of materials (masonry, wood agglomerate, fibro-cement, and glass). The end walls are made of reinforced concrete (Northwest wall) or wood agglomerate (Southeast wall). The East Hall is now 55 years old and many facets of the building envelope are in an unacceptable state. There are dilapidated and unsafe materials forming and falling from the envelope of the building. The uninsulated envelope does not conform to current building energy-management requirements, resulting in disproportional thermal losses and hence financial losses due to heating requirements. The envelope renovation project has two principal objectives with a number of specific objectives. ��� ���To improve the safety and comfort in the building by replacing the existing envelope���. ��� Removing the dilapidate asbestos-containing ceiling panels. ��� Removing existing poorly fixed, single-glazed windows with asbestos containing joints. ��� Removing existing uninsulated fibro-cement fac��ade panels. ��� Eradicating the water infiltrations coming from the roof. ��� To ensure a synergy with the consolidation of the fac��ade of the attached Building 156. The two languages once spoken in the oases in the North of the Tarim basin, Tocharian A and B, have preserved many Iranian loanwords. These belong to different chronological layers and are of different dialectal origins. Whereas the oldest layers are now most likely seen as belonging to an unattested Old Iranian dialect, more recent layers have not yet been studied in detail. In this respect, the vocabulary of medical texts represents an important field of enquiry. Most terms come from Middle Indian, but a significant number are of Middle Iranian origin. This component, mostly ingredients and technical vocabulary, seems to be largely of Khotanese origin. The article introduces the material and examines possible scenarios for historical transmission and contact between the North and the South of the Tarim Basin.

In this document, we present the upgrade of the East Experimental Area facility which took place during the Long Shutdown 2 (2019–2021). This document covers the renovation of the East Hall beamlines and infrastructure according to a new layout with the goal of improving the magnet and radiation situation in general. The performance of the new beamlines will be optimized in terms of maximum momentum and choice of particle type. Thanks to a cycled powering mode of the magnets instead of a steady state one, considerable energy savings will be possible. This report summarizes the various detailed studies completed from 2016 to 2019.

The allegorical Middle Dutch text, Een gheestelijc casteel [A Spiritual Castle], encourages readers to mentally construct a precious castle in which they will be able to receive Christ. The description of the castle provides a mnemonic image that readers could use during prayer and meditation. Although the author makes no direct reference to Luke 10:38, the allegory is authorized by the exegesis of this Biblical passage: Mary is the castle in which Jesus has entered and she keeps the active and spiritual life, symbolized by Martha and Mary Magdalene, in perfect balance. The Middle Dutch text likely originated around 1460 in the Brussels convent of Jericho (Regular Canonesses). In the last decade of the fifteenth century, the text, now adapted for a lay audience, was printed in Antwerp by Govaert Bac. He was an important member of the Antwerp guild of St Luke, the professional association of painters and printers that also included Antwerp’s principal chamber of rhetoric. The attractive architectural allegory and exercise presented in Bac’s booklet finds parallels in contemporary paintings of Mary and the Christ Child, who are often either portrayed in a landscape with a castle-like architectural structure clearly visible in the background or within a castle-like building. In the former compositions the castle can be viewed as a reflection or ‘echo’ of Mary as a castle (the painting thus portrays two castles) while at the same time functioning as a reminder to those familiar with the meditative image of the spiritual castle to pursue their spiritual skopos. The latter images could be seen as portraying a castle (Mary) within a castle (building), similar to Mary (or the womb) within a room, or even Jan van Eyck’s Madonna in the Church.

The present work constitutes the first complete description of a previously neglected type of Pāzand found in several passages of the Bundahišn text as contained in the Munich manuscript M51. The orthographic and phonological analysis presented here focuses on the Pāzand version of chapter 13 on animals, the longest specimen at our disposal. After a systematic description of the pāzandization system, a comparison with the already known pāzandization techniques (based mainly on the manuscripts L19 and M63) is conducted, with a view to defining the distinguishing features of the two systems. In the analysis, the importance of the BundahišnPāzand for the manuscript tradition of the Bundahišn and for the transmission of Zoroastrian writings in general is outlined.

International audience; We study properties of functions convex with respect to a given family χ of vector fields, a notion that appears natural in Carnot-Carathéodory metric spaces. We define a suitable subdifferential and show that a continuous function is χ-convex if and only if such subdifferential is nonempty at every point. For vector fields of Carnot type we deduce from this property that a generalized Fenchel transform is involutive and a weak form of Jensen inequality. Finally we introduce and compare several notions of χ-affine functions and show their connections with χ-convexity.

Acquired and Inherited Thrombophilic Factors in Young Patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome: A Case-Control Study The role of inherited or acquired thrombophilic conditions and their interaction with traditional cardiovascular risk factors in the development of premature acute coronary syndromes (ACS) have not been extensively investigated.

An important goal for biomass production is achieving a high quality grade related to conversion technology, as well as a high and stable output per hectare. Direct combustion is a widespread biomass conversion technique, and poplar SRC is recognized as a high yield energy crop giving valuable biomass fuels. However, combustion is negatively affected by biomass minerals; a high ash content decreases heating value and process efficiency. Thus, the aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of some agronomic factors and their interaction on biomass quality of poplar SRC, considering higher heating value (HHV), proximate analysis parameters - i.e. ash (A), volatile matter (VM) and fixed carbon (FC) contents – and nitrogen content (N). Results allow to appreciate distinguished effects of soil properties and water supply on biomass quality of different plant parts. A lower average ash content was observed in poplars grown in LS (2,2%) compared with SCL (3,1%). In both soils, branches in I0 were poorer in ash than in I100 (3,4% vs 4,4%), while ash content in stems decreased with water availability (2,7% vs 1,9%).
