In this paper, the finite-time control and bumpless transfer control are investigated for switched systems under asynchronously switching. First, a class of dynamic output feedback controllers are designed to stabilize the switched system with measurable system outputs. Considering the improvement of transient performance, the bumpless transfer control and finite-time control are further studied in the controller design. To avoid the control bumps, a practical filter is introduced to make the control signal smoother and continuous. Furthermore, to derive a finite-time bounded system state over short-time intervals, the finite-time analysis is considered in managing the switching process with the average dwell time. New criteria are proposed to analyze the finite-time stability and finite-time boundedness for the closed-loop system and solvable conditions are newly proposed to optimize the controller gain. Finally, the superiorities of the proposed method are validated through an application to a boost converter.

High-temperature superconductivity (HTSC) remains one of the most challenging and fascinating mysteries in condensed matter physics. Recently, superconductivity with transition temperature exceeding liquid-nitrogen temperature is discovered in La3Ni2O7 at high pressure, which provides a new platform to explore the unconventional HTSC. In this work, using high-resolution angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy and ab-initio calculation, we systematically investigate the electronic structures of La3Ni2O7 at ambient pressure. Our experiments are in nice agreement with ab-initio calculations after considering an orbital-dependent band renormalization effect. The strong electron correlation effect pushes a flat band of d_(z^2 ) orbital component below the Fermi level (EF), which is predicted to locate right at EF under high pressure. Moreover, the d_(x^2-y^2 ) band shows a pseudogap-like behavior with suppressed spectral weight and diminished quasiparticle peak near EF. Our findings provide important insights into the electronic structure of La3Ni2O7, which will shed light on the understanding of the unconventional superconductivity in nickelates.

Kagome materials exhibit many novel phenomena emerging from the interplay between lattice geometry, electronic structure, and topology. A prime example is the vanadium-based kagome materials AV3Sb5 (A = K, Rb, and Cs) with superconductivity and unconventional charge-density wave (CDW). More interestingly, the substitution of vanadium by chromium further introduces magnetism and enhances the correlation effect in CsCr3Sb5 which likewise exhibits superconductivity under pressure and competing density-wave state. Here we systematically investigate the electronic structure of CsCr3Sb5 using high-resolution angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (APRES) and ab-initio calculations. Overall, the measured electronic structure agrees with the theoretical calculation. Remarkably, Cr 3d orbitals exhibit incoherent electronic states and contribute to incipient flat bands close to the Fermi level. The electronic structure shows a minor change across the magnetic transition at 55 K, suggesting a weak interplay between the local magnetic moment and itinerant electrons. Furthermore, we reveal a drastic enhancement of the electron scattering rate across the magnetic transition, which is relevant to the semiconducting-like transport property of the system at high temperatures. Our results suggest that CsCr3Sb5 is a strongly correlated Hund's metal with incipient flat bands near the Fermi level, which provides an electronic basis for understanding its novel properties in comparison to the non-magnetic and weakly correlated AV3Sb5.

Nickelate superconductors have attracted a great deal of attention over the past few decades due to their similar crystal and electronic structures with high-temperature cuprate superconductors. Here, we report the superconductivity in a pressurized Ruddlesden-Popper phase single crystal, La4Ni3O10 (n = 3), and its interplay with the density wave order in the phase diagram. With increasing pressure, the density wave order as indicated by the anomaly in the resistivity is progressively suppressed, followed by the emergence of the superconductivity around 25 K. Our angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy measurements reveal that the electronic structure of La4Ni3O10 is very similar to that of La3Ni2O7, suggesting unified electronic properties of nickelates in Ruddlesden-Popper phases. Moreover, theoretical analysis unveils that antiferromagnetic (AFM) super-exchange interactions can serve as the effective pairing interaction for the emergence of superconductivity (SC) in pressurized La4Ni3O10. The dimensionality of quantum materials strongly affects their physical properties. Although many emergent phenomena, such as charge-density wave and Luttinger liquid behavior, are well understood in one-dimensional (1D) systems, the generalization to explore them in higher dimensional systems is still a challenging task. In this study, we aim to bridge this gap by systematically investigating the crystal and electronic structures of molybdenum-oxide family compounds, where the contexture of 1D chains facilitates rich emergent properties. While the quasi-1D chains in these materials share general similarities, such as the motifs made up of MoO6 octahedrons, they exhibit vast complexity and remarkable tunability. We disassemble the 1D chains in molybdenum oxides with different dimensions and construct effective models to excellently fit their low-energy electronic structures obtained by ab initio calculations. Furthermore, we discuss the implications of such chains on other physical properties of the materials and the practical significance of the effective models. Ultrathin films of intrinsic magnetic topological insulator MnBi2Te4 exhibit fascinating quantum properties such as quantum anomalous Hall effect and axion insulator state. In this work, we systematically investigate the evolution of the electronic structure of MnBi2Te4 thin films. With increasing film thickness, the electronic structure changes from an insulator-type with a large energy gap to one with in-gap topological surface states, which is, however, still drastically different from the bulk material. By surface doping of alkali-metal atoms, a Rashba split band gradually emerges and hybridizes with topological surface states, which not only reconciles the puzzling difference between the electronic structures of the bulk and thin film MnBi2Te4 but also provides an interesting platform to establish Rashba ferromagnet that is attractive for (quantum) anomalous Hall effect. Using high-resolution angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) and ab-initio calculation, we systematically investigate the electronic structure of the chiral helimagnet Cr1/3NbS2 and its temperature evolution. The comparison with NbS2 suggests that the electronic structure of Cr1/3NbS2 is strongly modified by the intercalation of Cr atoms. Our ab-initio calculation, consistent with experimental result, suggests strong hybridization between Nb- and Cr-derived states near the Fermi level. In the chiral helimagnetic state (below the Curie temperature Tc), we observe exchange splitting of the energy bands crossing EF, which follows the temperature evolution of the magnetic moment, suggesting an important role of the conduction electrons in the long-range magnetic ordering. Interestingly, the exchange splitting persists far above Tc with negligible temperature dependence, in drastic contrast to the itinerant ferromagnetism described by the Stoner model, indicating the existence of short-range magnetic order. Our results provide important insights into the microscopic mechanism of the chiral helimagnetic ordering in Cr1/3NbS2.

Advancement of imaging techniques enables consecutive image sequences to be acquired for quality monitoring of manufacturing production lines. Registration for these image sequences is essential for in-line pattern inspection and metrology, e.g., in the printing process of flexible electronics. However, conventional image registration algorithms cannot produce accurate results when the images contain many similar and deformable patterns in the manufacturing process. Such a failure originates from a fact that the conventional algorithms only use the spatial and pixel intensity information for registration. Considering the nature of temporal continuity and consecution of the product images, in this paper, we propose a closed-loop feedback registration algorithm for matching and stitching the deformable printed patterns on a moving flexible substrate. The algorithm leverages the temporal and spatial relationships of the consecutive images and the continuity of the image sequence for fast, accurate, and robust point matching. Our experimental results show that our algorithm can find more matching point pairs with a lower root mean squared error (RMSE) compared to other state-of-the-art algorithms while offering significant improvements to running time.

Most single image super-resolution (SR) methods are developed on synthetic low-resolution (LR) and high-resolution (HR) image pairs, which are simulated by a predetermined degradation operation, e.g., bicubic downsampling. However, these methods only learn the inverse process of the predetermined operation, so they fail to super resolve the real-world LR images; the true formulation deviates from the predetermined operation. To address this problem, we propose a novel supervised method to simulate an unknown degradation process with the inclusion of the prior hardware knowledge of the imaging system. We design an adaptive blurring layer (ABL) in the supervised learning framework to estimate the target LR images. The hyperparameters of the ABL can be adjusted for different imaging hardware. The experiments on the real-world datasets validate that our degradation model can estimate LR images more accurately than the predetermined degradation operation, as well as facilitate existing SR methods to perform reconstructions on real-world LR images more accurately than the conventional approaches.

A light bridge is a magnetic intrusion into a sunspot, it interacts with the main magnetic field and excites a variety of dynamical processes. In the letter, we studied magnetic connectivity between a light bridge and coronal loops rooted at the sunspot. We used the data of the Atmospheric Imaging Assembly onboard the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) to study the features of sunspots with light bridges. It is found that if a light bridge anchors at the umbra-penumbra boundary, the coronal loops could not be formed around the anchoring point. If the a light bridge become detached from the penumbra, the coronal loop starts to form again. The vector magnetogram provided by the Helioseismic Magnetic Imager onboard SDO shows that the anchoring region of a light bridge usually have an accompanying opposite minor-polarities. We conjugate that the magnetic field line could connect to these opposite polarities and form short-range magnetic loops, and therefore, coronal loops that extend to long-range could not be formed. A model of light bridge is proposed to explain the magnetic connectivity between a light bridge and the coronal loops.
