Abstract

The Giant Radio Array for Neutrino Detection (GRAND) is an envisioned observatory of ultra-high-energy neutrinos, cosmic rays, and gamma rays, with energies above 100 PeV. GRAND targets the radio signals emitted by extensive air showers induced by the interaction of ultra-high-energy particles in the atmosphere, using an array of 200,000 radio antennas split into sub-arrays deployed worldwide. GRANDProto13 (GP13) is a 13-antenna demonstrator array deployed in February 2023 in the Gansu province of China, as a precursor for GRANDProto300, which will validate the detection principle of the GRAND experiment. Its goal is to measure the radio background present at the site, validate the design of the detection units and develop an autonomous radio trigger for air showers. 5. Point Primitive Transformer for Long-Term 4D Point Cloud Video Understanding

Abstract

This paper proposes a 4D backbone for long-term point cloud video understanding. A typical way to capture spatial-temporal context is using 4Dconv or transformer without hierarchy. However, those methods are neither effective nor efficient enough due to camera motion, scene changes, sampling patterns, and the complexity of 4D data. To address those issues, we leverage the primitive plane as a mid-level representation to capture the long-term spatial-temporal context in 4D point cloud videos and propose a novel hierarchical backbone named Point Primitive Transformer(PPTr), which is mainly composed of intra-primitive point transformers and primitive transformers. Extensive experiments show that PPTr outperforms the previous state of the arts on different tasks.

8. MVLayoutNet:3D layout reconstruction with multi-view panoramas

Abstract

We present MVLayoutNet, an end-to-end network for holistic 3D reconstruction from multi-view panoramas. Our core contribution is to seamlessly combine learned monocular layout estimation and multi-view stereo (MVS) for accurate layout reconstruction in both 3D and image space. We jointly train a layout module to produce an initial layout and a novel MVS module to obtain accurate layout geometry. Unlike standard MVSNet [33], our MVS module takes a newly-proposed layout cost volume, which aggregates multi-view costs at the same depth layer into corresponding layout elements. We additionally provide an attention-based scheme that guides the MVS module to focus on structural regions. Such a design considers both local pixel-level costs and global holistic information for better reconstruction. Experiments show that our method outperforms state-of-the-arts in terms of depth rmse by 21.7% and 20.6% on the 2D-3D-S [1] and ZInD [5] datasets. Finally, our method leads to coherent layout geometry that enables the reconstruction of an entire scene.

49. Constructing Coated Grain Nanocomposites and Intracrystalline Precipitates to Simultaneously Improve the Thermoelectric and Mechanical Properties of SnTe by MgB2 and Sb Co‐Doping.

Abstract

Thermoelectric materials should be highly efficient and mechanically robust to satisfy the requirements of engineering applications. Herein, an integrated optimization strategy to improve both the thermoelectric performance and mechanical strength of SnTe is proposed. First, grain boundary engineering is applied to SnTe via MgB2 doping. The decomposition of MgB2 results in the Mg‐substituted SnTe solid solution and a special "core–shell" structure of Mg‐B compounds coated SnTe grain remarkably reducing the lattice thermal conductivity. Subsequently, trivalent Sb atoms are introduced to tune the carrier concentration and optimize the electrical performance of the MgB2‐doped sample. Sb‐rich Sn‐Te precipitates inside the grains further diminish the lattice's thermal conductivity. Consequently, a prominent improvement in average ZT of ≈117% is achieved for Sn0.78Sb0.16Te(MgB2)0.09 compared to pristine Sn1.03Te. Moreover, the compressive yield strength and Vickers hardness of Sn0.78Sb0.16Te(MgB2)0.09 are significantly increased by ≈168% and 176% relative to pristine Sn1.03Te, respectively. The quantitative strengthening models including grain boundary, dislocation, solid solution, intergranular, and precipitation strengthening in MgB2‐ and MgB2‐Sb‐doped Sn1.03Te samples are proposed, showing that the dominant strengthening mechanism is precipitation strengthening. 50. A Series of Lanthanide Coordination Polymers as Luminescent Sensors for Selective Detection of Inorganic Ions and Nitrobenzene.

Abstract

Seven new lanthanide coordination polymers, namely [Ln(cpt)3H2O)]n(Ln = La (1), Pr (2), Sm (3), Eu (4), Gd (5), Dy (6), and Er (7)), which were synthesized under hydrothermal conditions using 4′-(4-(4-carboxyphenyloxy)phenyl)-4,2′:6′,4′-tripyridine (Hcpt) as the ligand. The crystal structures of these seven complexes were determined using single-crystal X-ray diffraction, and they were found to be isostructural, crystallizing in the triclinic P 1 - space group. The Ln(III) ions were nine-coordinated with tricapped trigonal prism coordination geometry. The Ln(III) cations were coordinated by carboxylic and pyridine groups from (cpt)− ligands, forming one-dimensional ring-chain structures. Furthermore, the luminescent properties of complexes 1–7 were investigated using fluorescent spectra in the solid state. The fluorescence sensing experiments demonstrated that complex 4 exhibits high selectivity and sensitivity for detecting Co2+, Cu2+ ions, and nitrobenzene. Moreover, complex 3 shows good capability for detecting Cu2+ ions and nitrobenzene. Additionally, the sensing mechanism was also thoroughly examined through theoretical calculations.
