Screening is a key step in the process of non-ferrous metal beneficiation, and the screen plate is an important carrier for the screening process. The design of the material characteristics of the screen plate is an effective means to improve screening efficiency. However, in industrial production, due to technical limitations such as pouring technology and testing methods, this difficult to accurately design the material characteristics of the screening plate. Based on this, this study proposes a dynamic design method for elastic screen plate material characteristics based on DEM-FEM, and constructs a coupled simulation calculation model for screening of fine grained ilmenite particles using DEM-FEM. The design criteria are the impact stress and the material screening percentage of the screen plate under different screening plate material characteristics. The optimal combination of the elastic screen plate material parameters for 3 mm screening of ilmenite is determined through dynamic design: material constants C
10 is 1.76 and C01 is 0.44, elastic modulus is 13.23 MPa, and density is 1.30 g/cm³. Finally, a solid new screen plate was assembled on the HEWA3060 screening machine for vibration characteristics testing and 3 mm industrial screening verification experiment. When the screening machine processing capacity was 12t/(h ⋅ m²), the screening efficiency reached 92.14.
