The waveforms and spectral content of the earthquakes that were recorded during the period of higher activity on Avachinsky Volcano in 2019 were studied to identify three commonly accepted types of volcanic earthquake (VE), viz., volcano-tectonic, hybrid, and long-period events, as well as a fourth type, a “special” VE type having certain special features in its waveforms. We have identified 15 plane-oriented clusters and determined characteristics of the seismogenic planes. An analysis of the seismic events that were recorded in the fall of 2019 on the Molodoi Konus of Avachinsky Volcano suggests that the resumption of activity was related to the magma bodies due to the 1991 eruption which exist in the cone body and to their interaction with atmospheric precipitation. The most likely cause of light flashes above the crater observed on December 8 seems to have been interaction between hydrogen-charged volcanic gas and air oxygen.

Seismic activation of Avacha volcano was observed from late October to late December 2019, when six swarm sequences of volcanic earthquakes of various types occurred in its edifice. In the swarm sequences, 15 plane-oriented clusters were identified, and the characteristics of their seismogenic areas were determined. A comprehensive analysis of seismic events indicates that the activation of Avacha volcano at the end of 2019 occurred because of the interaction of meteoric waters with magma bodies, which formed during the effusive eruption of 1991 within the volcanic edifice.

The dynamics of the 223Ra distribution in the volume of spherical hydroxyapatite (HAP) granules in the course of the 223Ra sorption from aqueous solutions onto sorbent particles and desorption was studied by α-track radiography. The optimum time of contact of the sample with a detector (exposure) was found, and a procedure for preparing experimental samples was suggested. Taking into account the density of the porous sorbent, the ranges of the α-particles emitted by 223Ra and its daughter products and of the recoil nuclei were estimated. The averaged effective range of the α-particles in HAP is ∼35 μm. A mathematical model of the Ra diffusion into the depth of the porous sorbent, taking into account the sorption, was developed on the basis of the parameters obtained. The effective diffusion coefficient was estimated at ∼3 × 10–5 cm2 s–1. Correlation be¬tween the sorbent particle size, radionuclide sorption time, and the absorbed dose produced by the particle in a biological tissue was demonstrated.

Analyzing power in elastic proton-proton scattering was obtained at the Nuclotron Internal Target Station using a polarized deuteron beam and a polyethylene target. The selection of useful events was performed using the time and amplitude information from scintillation counters. The asymmetry on hydrogen was obtained by the subtraction of the carbon background. The obtained analyzing power values are compared with the predictions of the partial-wave analysis SAID at the beam energies of 500 and 650 MeV/nucleon.

In this article, one of the most urgent topics of the development of legislation on consumer rights protection in the UK is being considered. UK legislation on the protection of consumer rights, especially in connection with the forthcoming withdrawal of Britain from the European Union has a number of features. The law "On the Rights of Consumers", adopted in 2015, made it possible to analyze and highlight a number of features in the field of consumer protection in the UK, namely, the allocation of absolutely new standards applicable to the new type of services-digital content. By researching this topic, the author shows the emerging contradictions between the legislation of the European Union and the United Kingdom in the field of consumer protection, where the UK, against the backdrop of Brexit, analyzing the new Directives adopted by the European Union to retain a single legal space tends to unify the norms of the law "On the Rights of Consumers".

This article considers one of the topical issues of the development of legislation on consumer rights protection in the European Union countries in connection with Great Britain’s withdrawal from EU. European legislation on the protection of consumer rights has a number of features since all participants at the very beginning of the EU’s existence pledged to share responsibility for enacting legislation that protects consumer rights. The authors dwell on the problems of consumer rights protection in the UK, the consolidation of the legislation on consumer rights protection, and the models for building relations between the UK and EU: British membership in the European Economic Area (EEA); relations only within the framework of the World Trade Organization (WTO); cooperation, built on individual terms. In the study, the authors used analytical and formal-legal methods, the method of abstraction which made it possible to formulate conclusions on the conducted research. The authors come to the conclusion that there are strong relations between the rules of the Institute for the Protection of Consumer Rights of Great Britain and the legislation of the EU, so no major changes are currently expected. The Law "On the Rights of Consumers" not only introduced colossal changes in the national English legislation, but also summarized various aspects of consumer legislation in one legislative act. Such consolidation of consumer law in the UK has proved to be one of the most complex and promising legislative acts within the EU. Currently, it is difficult to predict the consequences of the UK’s exit from the EU for consumers and business, not knowing the scenario of the development of transitional or future relations with the EU. Undoubtedly, the next two years of the transition period will be difficult, since the decisions will be made by 27 EU countries without the participation of Great Britain.

An analysis of local seismicity within the Avacha–Koryakskii Volcanic Cluster during the 2000–2016 period revealed a sequence of plane-oriented earthquake clusters that we interpret as a process of dike and sill emplacement. The highest magmatic activity occurred in timing with the 2008–2009 steam–gas eruption of Koryakskii Volcano, with magma injection moving afterwards into the cone of Avacha Volcano (2010–2016). The geometry of the magma bodies reflects the NF geomechanical conditions (tension and normal faults, $$S_V>S_{H_{\text{max}}}>S_{h_{\text{min}}}$$ ) at the basement of Koryakskii Volcano dominated by vertical stresses S v , with the maximum horizontal stress $$S_{h_{\text{max}}}$$ pointing north. A CFRAC simulation of magma injection into a fissure under conditions that are typical of those in the basement of Koryakskii Volcano (the angle of dip is 60°, the size is 2 × 2 km2, and the depth is –4 km abs.) showed that when the magma discharge is maintained at the level of 20000 kg/s during 24 hours the fissure separation increases to reach 0.3 m and the magma injection is accompanied by shear movements that occur at a rate as high as 2 × 10–3 m/s, thus corresponding to the conditions of local seismic events with Mw below 4.5. We are thus able to conclude that the use of planeoriented clusters of earthquakes for identification of magma emplacement events is a physically sound procedure. The August 2, 2011 seismicity increase in the area of the Izotovskii hot spring (7 km from the summit of Koryakskii Volcano), which is interpreted as the emplacement of a dike, has been confirmed by an increase in the spring temperature by 10–12°C during the period from October 2011 to July 2012.

Systematic investigation of optimal conditions for preparation and in vitro stability of HAP particles labeled with 223Ra, that could be considered as promising candidates for targeted α-therapy, has been carried out. Two different approaches to HAP labelling were tested: sorption of Ra2+ on pre-synthesized HAP-particles and incorporation of Ra2+ into the structure of HAP during its synthesis. Two textural forms of HAP particles were used—nanoparticles and particles with the diameter of 350 ± 20 μm. Kinetics of 223Ra sorption on HAP of different particle size and desorption in 0.9 % NaCl solution were studied. The influence of solution acidity and solid to liquid phase ratio on sorption of Ra was evaluated and the sorption yield up to 98 % was achieved. It was found that the optimal conditions for the sorption included synthesis of HAP nanoparticles in the presence of 223Ra at pH values of 4–7 followed by annealing at 900 °C. The article presents the general characteristics of bolt-rivet joints. The main structural parameters of bolt-rivet rods affecting premature shank tearing are given. Stages of rod installation process into hole are described and critical moments of shank tearing are determined. A graph showing the variation of the rod retraction force depending on the thickness of the package is obtained, and basic parameters are determined for comparing two types of rods with different design, but the same purpose. Methods of determining shank tear- off forces, as well as stresses arising in the neck during retraction, using Femap software product are considered. Maximum stress values are calculated on the example of two types of rods and analysis of possible shank tear is carried out at available parameters of neck. In conclusion, it is noted that with the help of IT-technology it is possible to improve not only the design of joints, but also the technology of their implementation, by changing the design of fasteners.

The current deuteron beam polarimetry at the Nuclotron is provided by the Internal Target polarimeter based on the use of the asymmetry in dpelastic scattering at large angles in the cms at 270 MeV. The upgraded deuteron beam polarimeter has been used to obtain the vector and tensor polarizations during 2016/2017 runs for the DSS experimental program. The polarimeter has been also used to tune the polarized ion source parameters for 6 different spin modes. The data analysis has been performed using the developed software based on C++ language and ROOT5 library

Preliminary results on the angular distributions of the vector Ay and tensor Ayy, Axx analyzing powers in dp elastic scattering at the energy of 800 MeV are presented. The measurements have been performed on Internal Target Station of the JINR Nuclotron using polarized deuteron beam from new source of polarized ions. The experimental data are compared with the preliminary calculations obtained within framework of relativistic multiple scattering approach.

The results on the angular dependencies of the vectorAyand tensorAyyandAxxanalyzing powers in deuteron-proton elastic scattering at large scattering angles are presented. These data were obtained at internal target at the JINR Nuclotron in the energy range 400-1800 MeV using polarized deuteron beam from new polarized ion source. New data on the deuteron analyzing powers in the wide energy range demonstrate strong sensitivity to the short-range spin structure of the isoscalar nucleon-nucleon correlations observed earlier. The perspectives of further studies of the short-range correlations using carbon, polarized deuteron and proton beams are discussed.

Means of increasing the wear resistance of hard alloys, high-speed steel, and high-carbon steel used in cutting tools are considered. Chemicothermal hardening is employed: specifically, diffusional saturation with boron and chromium (chromoboriding) for VK8 sintered tungsten–cobalt alloy and with boron and titanium (titanoboriding) for P6M5 high-speed steel. Attention focuses on VK8 alloy and P6M5 steel because of the increasing industrial use of high-strength, low-wear materials. Their chemical composition and microhardness are investigated; the microhardness of the diffusional coatings obtained is measured. The results indicate that chemicothermal treatment of tool materials is a promising means of improving their strength and performance.

A new design of powerful high-voltage high-current impulse source for nanosecond megavolt charging of short forming lines (SFLs) is proposed. The first stage of the device is based on inductive energy storage. It accumulates energy supplied by the current of magnetic flux compression generator (MCG), whereas the electro-explosive opening switch is used for the energy output into intermediate SFL. In the second stage, we use a Tesla transformer with oil insulation. The results of the earlier experimental study of submegavolt charging of intermediate forming line as well as the results of calculations of the two-stage facility given in this paper demonstrate the feasibility of the device based on MCGs for nanosecond charging of SFL up to about 3 MV.

The results on the vector Ay and tensor Ayy and Axx analyzing powers in deuteronproton elastic scattering at large transverse momenta are presented. These data were obtained at internal target at JINR Nuclotron in the energy range 400-1800 MeV using polarized deuteron beam from new polarized ion source. New data on the deuteron analyzing powers in in the wide energy range demonstrate the sensitivity to the short-range spin structure of the isoscalar nucleon-nucleon correlations.

The results of the Polarimeter upgrade at the Nuclotron internal target are presented. This Polarimeter is intended for experiments to study of the spin structure of two-nucleon and three- nucleon short-range correlations. The measurements are performed in the frame of the DSS project. The simulation of the pd-elastic and pp-elastic scattering for 500 - 1000 MeV proton energy to optimization of the experimental setup is performed.

The polarization observables are sensitive to the two nucleón (2NF) and three-nucleon structures (3NF) of the nuclei. The aim of the deuteron spin structure (DSS) experiment is to obtain polarization observables in dp elastic scattering at large CMS angles (> 60°) and in dp breakup. Of great importance is the study of polarizations observables in these reactions at intermediate energies because the experimental and theoretical data are very scarce. In this review, results of vector and tensor analyzing powers obtained at JINR Nuclotron at 800 MeV will be presented.

The mechanism of boron diffusion under conditions of simultaneous saturation of steels with boron, chromium and titanium are poorly represented in the literature. It is noted that exactly three-component saturation with boron, chromium and titanium allows to obtain diffusion coatings with unique properties. The microhardness of such coatings can achieve 5000 HV, which corresponds to the microhardness of boron carbide B4C. In addition, such coatings, depending on the saturation parameters and the saturable material, can also show high durability values. The microstructure of the diffusion coatings on carbon steels Grade C and steel 1045 has been studied. It has been shown that during the simultaneous diffusion of boron, chromium and titanium under the boride layer additional perlite volumes are formed. The perlite that existed in the steel before the diffusion processes, as a result of diffusion, is fragmented.

Experimental results of generating a nanosecond high-current pulse burst by a multiwinding dynamic transformer, which is based on the principle of recuperation of the energy stored in the single primary winding, and the method of the sequential magnetic-flux trapping by several secondary windings are described. The inductive energy storage with an opening switch is used to sharpen current pulses of the generator. Six small electric capacitors are in turn charged up to ∼300 kV for ∼100 ns with a time interval of 10 μs.

We describe an off-line nanosecond charging device for a short forming line; the device has been created on the basis of an inductive energy storage unit. Energy storage is carried out by the current of an explosive magnetic cumulation generator, and the energy output to the load, by means of an electroexplosive current interrupter. The use of a two-stage, instead of a one-stage, magnetic cumulation generator, consisting of a preamplifier and a dynamic transformer, and two smaller-size generators with sequential connection of secondary windings of dynamic transformers, one of which is connected to the inductive storage unit, and the other, to the current interrupter—has made it possible to substantially increase the line charge voltage. As a result, within a time on the order of 100 ns, it was possible to charge a forming line with an electric length of 5 ns to a voltage of ≥1 MV.

Comparative analysis of recent literature data on hydrophilization of semiconductor quantum dots, which are actively used at present in various fields, has been performed. The main methods of preparation of hydrophilic quantum dots are considered: synthesis of the particles in aqueous solutions; replacement of hydrophobic ligands with hydrophilic ligands in the shells stabilizing the particles; creation of a second, water-soluble shell around the hydrophobic particles; and various methods of post-preparative treatment to improve photoluminescent properties of quantum dots.

A summary of the application of cyclodextrins (CDs) in the field of supramolecular chemistry has been given. Unique structural features of CDs, namely the separation of hydrophilic and hydrophobic groups, cause unusual physical and chemical properties of these molecules. The most important property of natural or chemically modified CDs is the ability to reversibly and selectively bind organic, inorganic, and biological molecules, forming inclusion complexes (ICs) of the “guest-host” type or nanostructured supramolecular assemblies. The most interesting examples of the application of ICs with CDs in pharmaceutical, food, and chemical industry, spectrometric analysis, separation technologies, of the use of CDs as models for molecular recognition in biology, as well as the cyclical component in the construction of supramolecular architectures (rotaxanes, pseudorotaxanes) are given in the review. The mechanism and methods of the formation of ICs, their properties and the methods of analysis have been described. Particular attention has been paid to molecular necklaces. One of the new promising directions of the application of CDs, namely, the preparation of nanosized materials, has been considered.

Our new experimental results (see, e.g., Preprint JINR no. E1-2008-61 (Dubna, 2008)) on ratio R dp of the quasielastic charge-exchange yield at the proton emitting angle θ p,lab = 0° for the nd → p(nn) reaction to the elastic np → pn charge-exchange yield were presented. The measurements were carried out at the Nuclotron of the Veksler and Baldin Laboratory of High Energies of the JINR (Dubna) at the neutron-beam kinetic energies of 0.55, 0.8, 1.0, 1.2, 1.4, 1.8, and 2.0 GeV. In this paper the comparison of the experimental R dp data with the obtained R dp calculations within the impulse approximation by using the invariant-amplitude sets from the GW/VPI phase-shift analysis is made. The R dp values calculated using the set of invariant amplitude data for the elastic np → pn charge exchange at θ p,CM = 0°, agree with the experimental data. This confirmed the nd → p(nn) process yield at θ p,CM = 0° is caused by the contribution of the spin-dependent part of the elastic np → pn charge-exchange reaction. Thus, it has been shown that the obtained experimental R dp results can be used for the Delta-Sigma experimental program to reduce the total ambiguity in the extraction of the amplitude real parts.

New experimental results on the ratio Rdp of the quasi-elastic charge-exchange yield at the outgoing proton angle $ \theta_{{p,{\rm Lab}}}^{}$ = 0° for the nd $ \rightarrow$ p(nn) reaction to the elastic np $ \rightarrow$ pn charge-exchange yield are presented. The measurements were carried out at the Nuclotron of the Veksler and Baldin Laboratory of High Energies of the JINR (Dubna) at the neutron beam kinetic energies of 0.55, 0.8, 1.0, 1.2, 1.4, 1.8 and 2.0GeV. The intense neutron beam with small momentum spread was produced by break-up of deuterons which were accelerated and extracted to the experimental hall. In both reactions mentioned above the outgoing protons with the momenta p p approximately equal to the neutron beam momentum p n, beam were detected in the directions close to the direction of incident neutrons, i.e. in the vicinity of the scattering angle $ \theta_{{p,{\rm Lab}}}^{}$ = 0° . Measured in the same data taking runs, the angular distributions of the charge-exchange reaction products were corrected for the well-known instrumental effects and averaged in the vicinity of the incident neutron beam direction. These corrected angular distributions for every of nd $ \rightarrow$ p(nn) and np $ \rightarrow$ pn charge-exchange processes were proportional to the differential cross-sections of the corresponding reactions. The data were accumulated by the Delta-Sigma set-up magnetic spectrometer with two sets of multiwire proportional chambers located upstream and downstream of the momentum analyzing magnet. Inelastic processes were considerably reduced by the additional detectors surrounding the hydrogen and deuterium targets. The time-of-flight system was applied to identify the detected particles. The new Rdp data are compared with the existing ones, which were obtained below 1GeV, and with the calculations which were made using the phenomenological NN amplitude sets.

A design-experimental study of a magnetic cumulation generator (further referred to as generator) with flat helical is performed. This generator combines advantages of both spiral-cylindrical and disk generators. As to speed of operation, the spiral-radial generator is equivalent to the disk generator, but can operate in high-impedance loads. To calculate characteristics of spiral-radial generators, including external-excitation generators, a semiempirical procedure for determining laws of variations of the inductances and mutual inductance of helical of the generator is developed. The procedure is based on measuring the current oscillation frequency in the course of the magnetic-field compression, while the helix is loaded into a small capacitance. A satisfactory compliance of the experimental data and semiempirical calculations is obtained. The experimental effective time values of the current buildup of the spiral-radial generators do not exceed the same characteristic for spiral-cylindrical generators with an axial charge initiation of the explosive material. A possibility of further decreasing the effective time is shown for the plane-parallel throwing of liner plates.

The new Delta-Sigma experimental data on the ratio R dp allowed separating the Flip and Non-Flip parts of the np → pn charge exchange process at the zero angle by the Dean formula. The PSA solutions for the np → np elastic scattering are transformed to the np → pn charge exchange representation using unitary transition, and good agreement is obtain.

New accurate data of the neutron-proton spin-dependent total-cross-section difference ΔσL(np) at the neutron-beam kinetic energies 1.39, 1.69, 1.89, and 1.99 GeV are presented. In general, these data complete the measurements of energy dependence of ΔσL(np) over the Dubna Synchrophasotron energy region. Measurements were carried out at the Synchrophasotron of the Veksler and Baldin Laboratory of High Energies of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research. The quasi-monochromatic neutron beam was produced by breakup of extracted polarized deuterons. The deuteron (and hence neutron) polarization direction was flipped every accelerator burst. The initial transverse (with respect to beam momentum) neutron polarization was changed to a longitudinal one and longitudinally polarized neutrons were transmitted through the large proton longitudinally polarized target. The target polarization direction was inverted after one to two days of measurements. Four different combinations of the beam and target parallel and antiparallel polarization directions, both oriented along the neutron-beam momentum, were used at each energy. A fast decrease in −ΔσL(np) with increasing energy above 1.1 GeV and a structure in the energy dependence around 1.8 GeV, first observed from our previous data, seem to be well revealed. The new results are also compared with model predictions and with phase-shift analysis fits. The ΔσL quantities for isosinglet state I = 0, deduced from the measured ΔσL(np) values and known ΔσL(pp) data, are also given. The results of the measurements of unpolarized total cross sections σ0tot(np) at 1.3, 1.4, and 1.5 GeV and σ0tot(nC) at 1.4 and 1.5 GeV are presented as well. These data were obtained using the same apparatus and high-intensity unpolarized deuteron beams extracted either from the Synchrophasotron or from the Nuclotron.

The problem of separation of elastic and inelastic parts of a proton spectrum ofnp-interaction at energies 1–2 GeV is successfully solved. The factor of suppression of the inelastic background equals five at energy Tn=2 GeV.

New accurate data on the neutron-proton spin-dependent total cross section difference Δσ L(np) at the neutron beam kinetic energies 1.4, 1.7, 1.9 and 2.0 GeV are presented. A number of physical and methodical results on investigation of an elasticnp→pn charge exchange process over a few GeV region are also presented. Measurements were carried out at the Synchrophasotron and Nuclotron of the Veksler and Baldin Laboratory of High Energies of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.

New accurate results of the neutron-proton spin-dependent total cross section difference $\Delta\sigma_{\mathrm L}(np)$ at the neutron beam kinetic energies 1.39, 1.69, 1.89 and 1.99 GeV are presented. Measurements were carried out in 2001 at the Synchrophasotron of the Veksler and Baldin Laboratory of High Energies of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research. The structure in the $\Delta\sigma_{\mathrm L}(np)$ energy dependence around 1.8 GeV, first observed from our previous data, seems to be well pronounced. The new results are also compared with model predictions and with phase shift analysis fits. The $\Delta\sigma_{\mathrm L}$ quantities for isosinglet state I = 0, deduced from the measured $\Delta\sigma_{\mathrm L}(np)$ values and the known $\Delta\sigma_{\mathrm L}(pp)$ data, are also given. The results were completed by the measurements of unpolarized total cross sections $\sigma_{0\mathrm{tot}}(np)$ at 1.3, 1.4 and 1.5 GeV and $\sigma_{0\mathrm{tot}}(n$ C) at 1.4 and 1.5 GeV. These data were obtained using the same apparatus and high intensity unpolarized deuteron beams were extracted either from the Synchrophasotron, or from the Nuclotron.

Anisotropic interatomic potentials that account for the symmetry of hexagonal crystal lattices and ensure their stability are proposed. Numerical parameters of the potential functions are determined for the majority of metals with a hexagonal close-packed lattice. Analytical expressions are derived for elastic moduli of hexagonal crystals, and their values are calculated using the interatomic potentials obtained in the framework of the isotropic and anisotropic models. It is demonstrated that the anisotropic model offers a more adequate description of the elastic properties of metals with a hexagonal close-packed lattice as compared to the isotropic model. The potentials obtained can be successfully used for modeling lattice defects.

Preliminary results of the ΔσL(np) at 1.4, 1.7, 1.9 and 2.0 GeV are presented. They were obtained during the two data-taking runs at the JINR Dubna Synchrophasotron in 2001 and complete the existing data above 1.1 GeV. The data analysis is in progress. The aim of the present studies is to determine the imaginary and real parts of the np spin-dependent forward scattering amplitudes over this energy range.

Based on the classical concepts of metal structure, a semi-empirical model of a metal crystal is proposed. Rather than approximating the interatomic potential type, this model estimates the electron density distribution. Parameters of the electron density distribution of ions in a crystal are also parameters of the interatomic potentials. This method is applicable to the description of properties of both ordered and disordered multi-component alloys.

New data on the spin-dependent np observables measured with quasi-monochromatic polarized neutron beam in the energy region from 1.2 to 3.7 GeV are presented. Further measurements of np scattering observables using the JINR LHE polarization facility (longitudinal and transverse polarized neutron beams and a polarized proton target) are discussed. The aim of these studies is to determine the imaginary and real parts of the forward scattering amplitudes for np and for isospin I=0 systems above 1.1 GeV.

New results for the np spin-dependent total cross section difference Δσp(np) at neutron beam kinetic energies of 1.59, 1.79 and 2.20 GeV are presented. Measurements of the Δσp(np) energy dependence were carried out at the Synchrophasotron of the Laboratory of High Energies of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna. The values of ΔσL were measured as a difference between the np total cross sections for parallel and antiparallel beam and target polarizations, both oriented along the beam momentum. A fast decrease of Δσp(np) with increasing energy above 1.1 GeV, as it was first seen from our previous data, was confirmed. The new results are also compared with model predictions and with the phase shift analysis fits. The ΔσL quantities for isosinglet state I=0, deduced from the measured values of Δσp(np) and known Δσp(pp) data, are given.

The tensor analyzing power A yy in inclusive breakup of 9 GeV/c deuterons on carbon has been measured at the detected proton angle of 85 mr. The analyzing power remains positive at the highest measured momentum of the proton in definite contradiction with the predictions of the existing models. The vector analyzing power A y has been obtained simultaneously with A yy .

The electrochemical potentials of seven redox transitions for green forms and eight redox transitions for blue forms of neutral octa-tert-butylsubstituted diphthalocyanine cornplexes of lanthanides Pct 2Ln (Ln=Pr, Sm, Dy, and Lu) in solutions were measured by cyclic voltammetry and rotating disc electrode techniques. The spectroelectrochemical investigation of the products of two-electron oxidation and reduction of the green form of Pct 2Lu was performed. The frontier molecular orbitals, total charge densities, total spin densities, electrostatic potentials, and heats of ion formation for (Pc2Y) m+,n− (m=0, 1, 2 and 3;n=1, 2, 3 and 4), which can model the products of the redox transitions of the diphthalocyanines under study, were calculated using the semiempirical ZINDO/1 method. The calculations for (Pc2Y) m+,n− and absorption spectra show that the electron changes in all redox transitions of the green forms of Pct 2Ln are mainly localized on the ligands.

The tensor analyzing power {ital T}{sub 20} for the reaction {ital d}{sup {up_arrow}}+{sup 12}C{r_arrow}{ital p}(0{degree})+{ital X} has been measured in the region of proton internal momenta {ital k} in light-cone dynamics up to 1 GeV/{ital c}. Measurements have been carried out at Dubna Synchrophasotron with polarized deuteron beam at deuteron momenta up to 9 GeV/{ital c}. When {ital k} increases the experimental values of {ital T}{sub 20} have a tendency to approach the value ({minus}0.3) obtained by the calculation based on the reduced nuclear amplitude method in which the quark degrees of freedom are taken into account.
