Beam exit windows are crucial components of any particle accelerator as they provide an interface between the beamline vacuum and target material at atmospheric media. For high beam power machines, special materials and designs are required to withstand high radiation and mechanical loads, while minimizing energy loss during transition and maximizing window lifetime. This research investigates the impact of electron beam exposure to bulk CrMnV and CrMnTiV high entropy alloys (HEAs) with the primary goal of identifying suitable candidate materials for the design of robust and durable exit window settings. The selection criteria include intrinsic characteristics, power dissipation, and mechanical responses. According to the thermodynamic calculations, both equiatomic CrMnV and the addition of 7% of Ti with equiatomic CrMnV yield solid-solutions phases. The structural and mechanical properties of CrMnV and CrMnTiV samples were tested using field emission scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, scanning electron microcopy with energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy, x-ray diffraction, and nanoindentation before and after exposure to a dose of ∼66 kGy from a 10 MeV e-beam accelerator. Despite exhibiting beam transmission characteristics comparable to Cr and V, the indentation hardness of HEAs exceeded that of the Cr and V samples by five to six times. The examination of the CrMnTiV irradiated samples revealed organized deformation patterns depicting new features, which we suspect twinning and twin boundaries due to the addition of Ti to CrMnV. Transition-edge sensors (TESs) have the potential to perform electron spectroscopic measurements with far greater measurement rates and efficiencies than can be achieved using existing electron spectrometers. Existing spectrometers filter electrons by energy before detecting a narrow energy band at a time, discarding the vast majority of electrons available for measurement. In contrast, TESs have intrinsic energy sensitivity and so do not require prior filtering to perform energy-resolved measurements. Despite this fundamental advantage, TES electron spectroscopy has not, to our knowledge, previously been reported in the literature. We present the results of a set of proof-of-principle experiments demonstrating TES electron spectroscopy experiments using Mo/Au TESs repurposed for electron calorimetry. Using these detectors, we successfully measured the electron spectrum generated by an electron beam striking a graphite target with energies between 750 and 2000 eV, at a noise-limited energy resolution of 4 eV. Based on the findings of these experiments, we suggest improvements that could be made to TES design to enhance their electron detection capabilities through the use of a dedicated electron absorber in the device with integrated electron optics. Excess emission has been observed from velvet cathodes with total emission times >150 ns. In this diode experiment, we produce a sub-relativistic electron beam with the ability to consistently change γ from 1.2 to 1.5 and β = 0.5–0.75. Electron emission in this particular diode geometry requires electric fields >40 kV/cm. The current increases at steady rates >0.05 A/ns after the head of the pulse, indicating an expansion of the emission surface and reduction in the effective AK gap. Small transients of excess emission (or arcs) are consistently observed for current pulses exceeding 150 ns. The excess emission results in beam loaded levels ≥ 10 kV on the diode voltage. The effects described here are compounded as diode voltage is increased. The principal objective of these experiments is to quantify electric field emission thresholds, current ramps, excess emission delays, effective beam loading, and impedance collapse. A complete simulation chain for the laser-based generation of a microfocus-size gamma ray beam of multi-MeV energy range able to produce radiographic images has been developed. The major interactions needed to obtain such a beam are treated individually. Particle-in-cell is used to study the generation of the electron beam through laser wake-field acceleration (LWFA), and Geant4 is employed for the Bremsstrahlung photon emission and for testing the imaging capabilities of the generated gamma beam. The paper presents detailed discussions about the implementation of each simulation, along with the results obtained. The structure of the article walks through the LWFA of up to 100 MeV electron beam, followed by its attenuation through a tantalum foil generating a 300 μ m spot size photon beam, later used for imaging of a thick lead test-object, assessing a 100 μ m resolution, and confirming the simulated imaging setup suitability for non-destructive testing applications of thick high-density objects. In this work, we demonstrate a hydrogen-terminated diamond (H-diamond) field-effect transistor (FET) with Al2O3/CeB6 gate materials. The CeB6 and Al2O3 films have been deposited by electron beam evaporation technique, sequentially. For the 4/8/12/15 μm gate length (LG) devices, the whole devices demonstrate distinct p-type normally off characteristics, and all the threshold voltage are negative; all the absolute values of leakage current density are 10−4 A/cm2 at a VGS of −11 V, exhibiting a relatively low leakage current density compared with CeB6 FETs, and this further demonstrates the feasibility of the introduction of Al2O3 to reduce the leakage current density; the maximum drain–source current density is −114.6, −96.0, −80.9, and −73.7 mA/mm, which may be benefited from the well-protected channel. For the 12 μm LG devices, the saturation carrier mobility is 593.6 cm2/V s, demonstrating a good channel transport characteristic. In this paper, we designed double V-shaped Al/Ni multilayer energy-containing microdevices with different V-angles, and we performed finite element modeling and simulation of the heat transfer process of the designed energy-containing microdevice. Temperature-dependent resistivity was introduced to effectively simulate the phase change during ignition. We simulated the temperature and current density distribution in the central region of the Al/Ni multilayer energy-containing microdevice and predicted the ignition voltage threshold for the specific device structure. Al/Ni multilayer energy-containing microdevices with different V-angles were prepared by electron beam evaporation technology, and ignition experiments on the prepared devices under the excitation of 47 μF capacitance were conducted. The experimental results show that the critical voltage of ignition increases with the increase in the V-angle, which verifies the correctness of the proposed finite element model. Epitaxial growth of wurtzite AlN films on Si {111} results in 19% lattice misfit, which gives rise to a large density of threading dislocations with different recombination rates of electron–hole pairs. Here, we investigate types and distributions of threading dislocations of the MOVPE-grown 200 nm AlN/Si {111} film, whereby the dislocations are visualized using the technique of wet chemical etching. Atomic force microscopy suggests the existence of four different types of etch pits without any topological differences. Cross-sectional transmission electron microscope studies on etched samples are employed to associate the types of dislocations with the shapes of their etch pits. The recombination activity of individual dislocations was quantified by measuring the electron beam induced current and by correlative measurement of topography, secondary electron imaging, and the electron beam absorbed current. The strongest recombination activity was obtained for the m + c-type (mixed), c-type (screw), and a + c-type (mixed) threading dislocations, whereas the a-type (edge) threading dislocations were nearly recombination-inactive. InAs nanowires (NWs) were grown on SiOx pinholes formed on Si(111) substrates by molecular beam epitaxy. Influences of electron-beam (EB) irradiation on the SiOx layer on the pinhole formation and the subsequent InAs NW growth were studied. As the EB irradiation dose increased, the pinhole density in the SiOx layer decreased. From atomic force microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy results, it was found that the pinhole etching of the SiOx layer by Ga droplets was suppressed by carbon adsorption due to the EB irradiation. By forming high-density pinholes on the SiOx layer without the EB irradiation, high-density InAs NWs with 1–2 × 1010 cm−2 were grown successfully, and the uniformity in the NW diameter improved. The standard deviation of the NW diameter was 1.8 nm (8.8%) for high-density NWs. In addition, the NW diameter decreased with decreasing EB dose, and the NW diameter was controlled by adjusting the diameter of Ga droplets forming the pinholes. As the NW diameter decreased, photoluminescence spectra of the NWs shifted to higher energies than the bandgap energy of the wurtzite InAs bulk. Radiation-induced conductivity (RIC) of polyethyleneterepfthalate and polypiromellitimide has been studied experimentally and numerically in a broad time range from some microseconds to seconds at 103 K. It has been established that the charge carrier transport is dispersive with a low value of the dispersion parameter α (0.08–0.12). We have suggested a direct method of determination of the frequency factor of the Rose–Fowler–Vaisberg (RFV) model, which has been parameterized using computer simulations by the trial-and-error method. The main concern is a critical analysis of the existing theories of geminate recombination. It has been shown that the traditional RFV model is well suited to describe the RIC in studied polymers even at 103 K if due corrections to the notion of a free charge carrier and a non-Langevin bimolecular recombination have been made. The problem of a space charge field due to beam electrons stopped in a polymer sample, which is especially important at low temperatures, has been accounted for but not fully explained. We performed experiments searching for chirality-dependent secondary electron emission for a 141 eV longitudinally spin-polarized electron beam incident on a thick solid cysteine target. We determined the secondary electron yield by measuring the positive current produced when the cysteine target was negatively biased. This paper explores direct density modulation of high-current electron beam emission from an RF cold cathode using optical excitation. We theoretically study the photo-assisted field emission of periodically bunched electron beams of various pulse shapes under the combined excitation of an RF field and an optical field, using an exact quantum model. Both continuous-wave (CW) and pulsed optical fields are considered. The emission current pulse amplitude, pulse width, electron number density per pulse, as well as pulse shape and its harmonic contents are investigated in detail. For CW photon sources in the UV to NIR range (i.e., 200–1200 nm), increasing the optical intensity under an RF bias tends to change the current pulse from a Gaussian to sinusoidal-like shape, thus offering strong flexibility to control the frequency components in beam current emission. Pulsed photon sources combined with an RF field can produce sharp, high-current electron bunches with pulse duration comparable with or even less than that of the optical pulse. A contour map of the density modulation depth is constructed for different combinations of RF and laser fields. TiO2 thin films were prepared by sol-gel spin-coating (SGSC) and electron beam-physical vapor deposition (EB-PVD) methods and annealed at different temperatures (Ta). X-ray diffraction spectroscopy (XRD) results show that the TiO2 films prepared by the SGSC method transformed from the anatase single phase to the coexistence of anatase and rutile with the increase of Ta. However, TiO2 films prepared by the EB-PVD method existed only in the anatase phase, and the crystalline strength was enhanced with the increase of Ta. Meanwhile, particles of TiO2 targets annealed at different Ta showed a rutile phase for TiO2 target particles in the EB-PVD method. The results indicate that the EB-PVD method hinders the nucleation growth and phase transformation of TiO2 films. Scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy also show that the grain size and R ms of TiO2 thin films prepared by the SGSC method increased with the increase of Ta, and the grain size becomes inhomogeneous when the rutile phase is formed. Ultraviolet–visible results show that the forbidden bandwidth and light absorption capacity increase with increasing Ta. For the EB-PVD method, the grain size and surface roughness gradually increased when the Ta of the films was less than 800 °C, while annealing at 800 °C changed the direction of growth and nucleation, and also produced surface cracks; XRD verified the hypothesis that the EB-PVD method hinders the nucleation growth as well as the phase transition of the films. Weak differences in the optical absorption properties and bandgap values of the films also indicate that the EB-PVD method hinders the phase transformation of TiO2 films. Finally, the results of degradation of methylene blue (MB) under simulated visible light showed that the films prepared by the SGSC method gradually improved the photocatalytic performance with the enhancement of the crystalline strength of the anatase phase. In this paper we study a self-consistent Vlasov-Fokker-Planck equations which describes the longitudinal dynamics of an electron bunch in the storage ring of a synchrotron particle accelerator. We show existence and uniqueness of global classical solutions under physical hypotheses on the initial data. The proof relies on a mild formulation of the equation and hypoelliptic regularization estimates. We also address the problem of the long-time behavior of solutions. We prove the existence of steady states, called Haissinski solutions, given implicitly by a nonlinear integral equation. When the beam current (i.e. the nonlinearity) is small enough, we show uniqueness of steady state and local asymptotic nonlinear stability of solutions in appropriate weighted Lebesgue spaces. [Display omitted] • Electron beam irradiation technology was first used to graft modify propylene separators in sodium metal batteries. • Grafted polyacrylic acid enhances electrolyte affinity and efficiently regulates Na+ ion flux. • The improved anode/separator interface enhances the cyclability and reversibility of sodium metal anodes. Sodium metal batteries (SMBs) are considered as strong alternatives to lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), due to the inherent merits of sodium metal anodes (SMAs) including low redox potential (−2.71 V vs. SHE), high theoretical capacity (1166 mAh g−1), and abundant resources. However, the uncontrollable Na dendrite growth has significantly impeded the practical deployment of SMBs. Separator modification has emerged as an effective strategy for substantially enhancing the performance of SMAs. Herein, for the first time, we present the successful grafting polyacrylic acid (PAA) onto polypropylene (PP) separators (denoted as PP-g-PAA) using highly efficient electron beam (EB) irradiation to improve the cyclability of SMAs. The polar carboxyl groups of PAA can facilitate the electrolyte wetting and provide ample mechanical strength to resist dendrite penetration. Consequently, the regulation of Na+ ion flux enables uniform Na+ deposition with dendrite-free morphology, facilitated by the favorable anode/separator interface. The PP-g-PAA separator significantly enhances the cyclability of fabricated cells. Notably, the lifespan of Na||Na symmetric cells can be extended up to 5519 h at 1 mA cm−2 and 1 mAh cm−2. The stable design of the anode/separator interface achieved through polyolefin separator modification presented in this study holds promise for the further advancement of next-generation advanced battery systems. Objective. This work aims to develop a graphics processing unit (GPU)-accelerated Monte Carlo code for the coupled transport of photon, electron/positron and neutron over a broad range of energies for medical applications. Approach. By separating the MC evolution of radiation into source, transport, and interaction kernels, the branch divergence was alleviated. The memory coalescence was achieved by vectorizing the access pattern in which the secondary particles were archived. To accelerate further particle tracking, ray-tracing hardware acceleration in the Nvidia OptiXTM framework was applied. For photon and electron/positron, the EGSnrc interaction modules were ported as a GPU-optimized configuration. For neutron, a group-wised transport based on NJOY21 preprocessed data was implemented. The developed code was validated against CPU-based FLUKA. Neutron, x-ray and electron beams incident on water and ICRP phantoms were simulated. The neutron energy group and the transport parameters of photon and electron were set to be the same in both codes. A single Nvidia RTX 4090 card was used in this code while all 20 threads of a single Intel Core i9-10900K node were used in FLUKA. Main results. The number of histories was set to ensure that statistical uncertainties lower than 2% for all voxels whose doses were larger than 20% of the maximum. In all cases, the dose differences in the voxels between the codes were within 2.5%. For photons and electrons, the developed code was 150 – 300 times faster than FLUKA in both geometries. For neutrons, the code was respectively 80 and 135 times faster in the water and ICRP phantoms than FLUKA. Significance. This study offers an appropriate solution for uncoalesced memory access and branch divergence commonly encountered in coupled MC transport on the GPU architecture. Here we show that compressive sensing allows 4‐dimensional (4‐D) STEM data to be obtained and accurately reconstructed with both high‐speed and reduced electron fluence. The methodology needed to achieve these results compared to conventional 4‐D approaches requires only that a random subset of probe locations is acquired from the typical regular scanning grid, which immediately generates both higher speed and the lower fluence experimentally. We also consider downsampling of the detector, showing that oversampling is inherent within convergent beam electron diffraction (CBED) patterns and that detector downsampling does not reduce precision but allows faster experimental data acquisition. Analysis of an experimental atomic resolution yttrium silicide dataset shows that it is possible to recover over 25 dB peak signal‐to‐noise ratio in the recovered phase using 0.3% of the total data. Lay abstract: Four‐dimensional scanning transmission electron microscopy (4‐D STEM) is a powerful technique for characterizing complex nanoscale structures. In this method, a convergent beam electron diffraction pattern (CBED) is acquired at each probe location during the scan of the sample. This means that a 2‐dimensional signal is acquired at each 2‐D probe location, equating to a 4‐D dataset. Despite the recent development of fast direct electron detectors, some capable of 100kHz frame rates, the limiting factor for 4‐D STEM is acquisition times in the majority of cases, where cameras will typically operate on the order of 2kHz. This means that a raster scan containing 256^2 probe locations can take on the order of 30s, approximately 100‐1000 times longer than a conventional STEM imaging technique using monolithic radial detectors. As a result, 4‐D STEM acquisitions can be subject to adverse effects such as drift, beam damage, and sample contamination. Recent advances in computational imaging techniques for STEM have allowed for faster acquisition speeds by way of acquiring only a random subset of probe locations from the field of view. By doing this, the acquisition time is significantly reduced, in some cases by a factor of 10‐100 times. The acquired data is then processed to fill‐in or inpaint the missing data, taking advantage of the inherently low‐complex signals which can be linearly combined to recover the information. In this work, similar methods are demonstrated for the acquisition of 4‐D STEM data, where only a random subset of CBED patterns are acquired over the raster scan. We simulate the compressive sensing acquisition method for 4‐D STEM and present our findings for a variety of analysis techniques such as ptychography and differential phase contrast. Our results show that acquisition times can be significantly reduced on the order of 100‐300 times, therefore improving existing frame rates, as well as further reducing the electron fluence beyond just using a faster camera. Promptly predicting defects during an additive manufacturing process using only copious log data provides many advantages, albeit with computational limitations. We focus on predicting defects during electron beam melting with the black box nature of the manufacturing machine. For an accurate prediction of defects, which are rare ( < 2 % ), we extract temporal information to track abnormalities and formulate a feature selection algorithm that maximizes the expected value of a cost-sensitive accuracy. Correct identification of features responsible for the defects increases predictive power and informs manufacturers of potential corrective/preventive actions for process improvement. We solve the feature selection through resampling strategies integrated with ensemble procedures to handle data uncertainty and imbalance. Exploiting data uncertainty in our search leads to finding robust features with consistent predictive power. Our proposed methodology shows a 43% improvement in predicting defects (recall) without losing precision. Hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) holds promise as a solid state, van der Waals host of single photon emitters for on‐chip quantum photonics. The B‐center defect emitting at 436 nm is particularly compelling as it can be generated by electron beam irradiation. However, the emitter generation mechanism is unknown, the robustness of the method is variable, and it has only been applied successfully to thick flakes of hBN (≫ 10 nm). Here, it is used in situ time‐resolved cathodoluminescence (CL) spectroscopy to investigate the kinetics of B‐center generation. It is shown that the generation of B‐centers is accompanied by quenching of a carbon‐related emission at ≈305 nm and that both processes are rate‐limited by electromigration of defects in the hBN lattice. It identifies problems that limit the efficacy and reproducibility of the emitter generation method and solve them using a combination of optimized electron beam parameters and hBN pre‐and postprocessing treatments. It is achieved B‐center quantum emitters in hBN flakes as thin as 8 nm, elucidate the mechanisms responsible for electron beam restructuring of quantum emitters in hBN, and gain insights toward the identification of the atomic structure of the B‐center quantum emitter. This paper describes how moiré plasmonic nanoparticle lattices can exhibit lasing action over a broad wavelength and wavevector range. Moiré nanolithography is combined with the PEEL (Photolithography, Etching, Electron‐beam deposition, and Lift‐off) process to fabricate in‐plane incommensurate lattices with optical properties beyond the restricted geometries of Bravais lattices. Because of increased rotational symmetry, moiré lattices support a larger number of transverse electric and transverse magnetic modes relative to their periodic base lattices. It is found that multidirectional lasing characteristics can be predicted by the symmetry of the moiré reciprocal lattice. Incommensurate moiré plasmonic lattices combine advantages of the dense band structures observed in aperiodic lattices with that of predicted modes in Bravais lattices for light‐based technologies in coherent light sources and multiplexed data transfer. BACKGROUND RESULTS CONCLUSION Whey protein isolate (WPI) is a high‐quality animal protein resource. The modification of WPI through physical, chemical and biological methods can substantially improve the functional properties of proteins. This study investigated the effect of electron beam irradiation (EBI) on the modification of WPI–xylose glycosylation.The degree of grafting and browning revealed that EBI promoted WPI glycosylation. The maximum emission wavelength of intrinsic fluorescence was red‐shifted and the fluorescence intensity was reduced, suggesting that irradiation induced the unfolding of the WPI structure, thereby promoting glycosylation. Fourier‐transformed infrared spectroscopy revealed that the covalent binding of the conjugates occurred on the introduction of the hydrophilic groups, resulting in decreased surface hydrophobicity. When compared with conventional wet‐heat glycosylation, irradiation‐assisted glycosylation improved the emulsifying activity of WPI from 179.76 ± 0.83 to 277.83 ± 1.44 m2 g−1, and the emulsifying and rheological properties improved.These results confirmed that EBI can increase the degree of WPI glycosylation and improve the functional properties of proteins, thereby laying a theoretical foundation for the further application of WPI. © 2024 Society of Chemical Industry. Advanced accelerator-based light sources such as free electron lasers (FEL) accelerate highly relativistic electron beams to generate incredibly short (10s of femtoseconds) coherent flashes of light for dynamic imaging, whose brightness exceeds that of traditional synchrotron-based light sources by orders of magnitude. FEL operation requires precise control of the shape and energy of the extremely short electron bunches whose characteristics directly translate into the properties of the produced light. Control of short intense beams is difficult due to beam characteristics drifting with time and complex collective effects such as space charge and coherent synchrotron radiation. Detailed diagnostics of beam properties are therefore essential for precise beam control. Such measurements typically rely on a destructive approach based on a combination of a transverse deflecting resonant cavity followed by a dipole magnet in order to measure a beam's 2D time vs energy longitudinal phase-space distribution. In this paper, we develop a non-invasive virtual diagnostic of an electron beam's longitudinal phase space at megapixel resolution (1024 × 1024) based on a generative conditional diffusion model. The ASHIPH (Aerogel, SHifter, PHotomultiplier) Cherenkov counters are considered as a particle identification system alternative option for the detector on future Super Charm-Tau factory. The ASHIPH counters have been operating successfully in the KEDR and SND experiments in Novosibirsk at the Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics. Previously in our experiments Micro Channel Plate PMTs were used for the photon detection in the ASHIPH counters. Now, we have developed a prototype of the ASHIPH counter with SiPM (Silicon PMTs) array as a photodetector. Such an upgrade will increase the number of detected photoelectrons by 2.5 times and consequently improve the quality of particle separation. Juno conducted two close Io flybys on 30 December 2023 and 03 February 2024, both at a minimum altitude of 1,500 km. Filamentary structures in the electric and magnetic field spectra indicate Juno crossed the Alfvén wing, the magnetic structure connecting Io to Jupiter's polar ionosphere. We show that the first pass took Juno diametrically through the northern Alfvén wing, while the second pass had Juno graze the southern Alfvén wing boundary, enabling extended measurements of the transition region between Io's vicinity and the Jovian magnetosphere. Of note, evidence of local electron beams is inferred from whistler‐mode emissions. We demonstrate that their energies are sub‐keV, are sourced from Io's ionosphere or local torus, and are part of a distributed current system connecting Io to Jupiter. Finally, upper hybrid resonances indicate electron densities are significantly elevated in Io's polar region (∼28,000 cm−3) compared to the local Io torus (∼2,000 cm−3). Transmission-mode (t-mode) GaAs negative electron affinity photocathodes (NEA-PCs) can be integrated with the optical focusing lenses and microchannel plates to produce high-quality electron beams and high-sensitive detectors. Quantum efficiency (QE) of ∼40% has been reported for the t-mode thick (>1000 nm) GaAs NEA-PCs. Nevertheless, practical applications of these devices have been seriously restricted by their long response time (tens of picoseconds). In this work, the all-dielectric meta-surfaces (ADMS) were designed as the light managers for the t-mode ultra-thin GaAs NEA-PCs. For the 500–850 nm waveband, high light absorption (>80%) can be obtained through coupling the electromagnetic dipole moments of ADMS into the leaky optical modes in 100 nm ultra-thin GaAs NEA-PC layer, which leads to enhanced QE higher than that of the thick ones, the response time less than 5 ps, and the mean transverse energy less than 60 meV, respectively. Given these properties, ADMS t-model ultra-thin NEA-PCs represent a promising photocathode to provide the high-brightness short-pulse spin-polarized electron beams and high-sensitive fast-response detectors for the electron accelerator and low-light-level photodetection applications, respectively. A comprehensive understanding of atomic fracture mechanisms in 2D materials is essential for their practical applications, yet this knowledge is currently limited. To address this gap, an aberration‐corrected scanning transmission electron microscope (STEM) to induce new cracks in suspended monolayer transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) using broad electron beam illumination, is employed. During characterization, a low‐dose electron beam to avoid irradiation damage, allowing to observe the atomic fracture behavior in these materials, is utilized. The STEM experiments reveal a novel atomic fracture pattern along the zigzag direction, resulting in a distribution where half of the chalcogen atoms (S or Se) adhered to the molybdenum‐terminated (Mo‐T) edge and the other half to the chalcogen‐terminated (S‐T or Se‐T) edge. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations suggest that this fracture mode produces a pair of edges with the lowest formation energy. Additionally, molecular dynamics (MD) simulations support the observed fracture behavior under a mixed mechanical loading mode of “I+III” with both in‐plane and out‐of‐plane stress, originating from the ultrathin nature and nonplanar deformation in suspended 2D materials. Background: Electron beams are used at extended distances ranging between 300 to 700 cm to uniformly cover the entirety of the patient's skin for total skin electron therapy (TSET). Even with electron beams utilizing the high dose rate total skin electron (HDTSe) mode from the Varian 23iX or TrueBeam accelerators, the dose rate is only 2500 cGy/min at source‐to‐surface distance (SSD) = 100 cm. At extended distances, the decrease in dose rate leads to long beam delivery times that can limit or even prevent the use of the treatment for patients who, in their weakened condition, may be unable to stand on their own for extended periods of time. Previously, to increase dose rate, a customized 6 MeV electron beam was created by removing the x‐ray target, flattening filter, beam monitor chamber, and so forth. from the beam path (Chen, et at IJROBP 59, 2004) for TSET. Using this scattering‐foil free (SFF) electron beam requires the treatment distance be extended to 700 cm to achieve dose uniformity from the single beam. This room size requirement has limited the widespread use of the 6 MeV‐SFF beam. Purpose: This study explores an application of a dual‐field technique with a 6 MeV‐SFF beam to provide broad and uniform electron fields to reduce the treatment distances in order to overcome treatment room size limitations. Methods: The EGSnrc system was used to generate incident beams. Gantry angles between 6 MeV‐SFF dual‐fields were optimized to achieve the similar patient skin dose distribution resulting from a standard 6 MeV‐HDTSe dual‐field configuration. The patient skin dose comparisons were performed based on the patient treatment setup geometries using dose‐volume‐histograms. Results: Similar dose coverage can be achieved between 6 MeV‐SFF and 6 MeV‐HDTSe beams by reducing gantry angles between dual‐field geometries by 8° and 7° at treatment distances of 400 and 500 cm, respectively. To achieve 95% mean dose to the first 5 mm of skin depth in the torso area, the mean dose to depths of 5–10 mm and 10–15 mm below the skin surface was 74% (74%) and 49% (50%) of the prescribed dose when using 6 MeV‐SFF (6 MeV‐HDTSe) beam, respectively. Conclusions: The 6 MeV‐SFF electron beam is feasible to provide similar TSET skin dose coverage at SSD ≥ 400 cm using a dual‐field technique. The dose rate of the 6 MeV‐SFF beam is about 4 times that of current available 6 MeV‐HDTSe beams at treatment distances of 400–500 cm, which significantly shortens the treatment beam‐on time and makes TSET available to patients in weakened conditions. Background: Ultra‐high‐dose‐rate (UHDR) electron beams have been commonly utilized in FLASH studies and the translation of FLASH Radiotherapy (RT) to the clinic. The EDGE diode detector has potential use for UHDR dosimetry albeit with a beam energy dependency observed. Purpose: The purpose is to present the electron beam response for an EDGE detector in dependence on beam energy, to characterize the EDGE detector's response under UHDR conditions, and to validate correction factors derived from the first detailed Monte Carlo model of the EDGE diode against measurements, particularly under UHDR conditions. Methods: Percentage depth doses (PDDs) for the UHDR Mobetron were measured with both EDGE detectors and films. A detailed Monte Carlo (MC) model of the EDGE detector has been configured according to the blueprint provided by the manufacturer under an NDA agreement. Water/silicon dose ratios of EDGE detector for a series of mono‐energetic electron beams have been calculated. The dependence of the water/silicon dose ratio on depth for a FLASH relevant electron beam was also studied. An analytical approach for the correction of PDD measured with EDGE detectors was established. Results: Water/silicon dose ratio decreased with decreasing electron beam energy. For the Mobetron 9 MeV UHDR electron beam, the ratio decreased from 1.09 to 1.03 in the build‐up region, maintained in range of 0.98–1.02 at the fall‐off region and raised to a plateau in value of 1.08 at the tail. By applying the corrections, good agreement between the PDDs measured by the EDGE detector and those measured with film was achieved. Conclusions: Electron beam response of an UHDR capable EDGE detector was derived from first principles utilizing a sophisticated MC model. The three-dimensional (3D) morphology, anatomy, and in-situ chemical composition analysis of fossils are crucial for systematic paleontology and determining their phylogenetic positions. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) coupled with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), offers valuable structural and chemical information for the analysis of fossils. However, its primary limitation is the restriction to two-dimensional surface data, which limits the exploration of fossils' 3D complexities. Conversely, 3D X-ray microscopy (3D-XRM), also known as a novel form of micro-computed tomography (micro-CT) facilitates the non-destructive 3D reconstruction of fossil specimens. Nevertheless, it lacks the capability to provide in-situ compositional data. Acknowledging the constraints inherent in these individual techniques, and in response to the evolving requirements of paleontological research, this study introduces an integrated approach that combines 3D-XRM with EDS-coupled focused ion beam scanning electron microscopy (FIB-SEM). This innovative strategy is designed to synergize the advantages of both techniques, thereby addressing challenges that conventional methods cannot. It enables the rapid identification of regions of interest (ROI) within fossil specimens at micrometer resolution. Subsequently, this method collects detailed data on both 3D structures and chemical compositions at the nanometer scale for the identified ROI. This integrated approach represents a significant advancement in paleontological and geological research methodologies, promising to meet the increasing demands of these fields. Biopolymers have the utmost significance in biomedical applications and blending synthetic polymers has shown favorable characteristics versus individual counterparts. The utilization of the blends can be restricted through the use of toxic chemical agents such as initiators or crosslinkers. In this regard, a chemical agent-free ionizing irradiation is a beneficial alternative for preparing the hydrogels for biomedical applications. In this study, carboxymethyl chitosan (CM-CS), guar gum (GG), and poly(vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP) based ternary blends (TB) were crosslinked using various doses of ionizing irradiation to fabricate hydrogels. The prepared hydrogels were characterized for physicochemical properties, swelling analysis, biological assays, and drug delivery applications. Swelling analysis in distilled water revealed that the hydrogels exhibit excellent swelling characteristics. An in vitro cytocompatibility assay showed that the hydrogels have greater than 90% cell viability for the human epithelial cell line and a decreasing cell viability trend for the human alveolar adenocarcinoma cell line. In addition, the prepared hydrogels possessed excellent antibacterial characteristics against gram-positive Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) and gram-negative Escherichia coli (E. coli). Finally, the release studies of anti-inflammatory Quercus acutissima (QA) loaded hydrogels exhibited more than 80% release in phosphate-buffered saline (pH = 7.4). Cherenkov terahertz (THz) surface plasmons (SPs) generation by a relativistic electron beam over the graphene surface, deposited on a SiO 2 substrate, is investigated. The relativistic electron beam tassel produced by SPs produces perturbed linear current density and develops THz SPs via Cherenkov interaction. Electron beam energy from 498.91 to 499.03 KeV is essential for the excitation of THz SPs of 3 to 10 THz. The growth rate of THz SPs depends on the electron beam density and Fermi energy of the graphene surface. In this article, we consider the electron beam focusing system guided by an axially symmetric periodic magnetic field with unshielded cathode. Based on the third‐order approximation method and some quantitative methods, we establish two different sufficient conditions for the existence of twist periodic solutions of the system. In this paper, we have studied the influence of laser polarization on the dynamics of the ionization-injected electron beams, and subsequently, the properties of the emitted betatron radiation in laser wakefield accelerators (LWFAs). While ionizing by strong field laser radiation, the generated photo-electrons carry a residual transverse momentum in excess of the ionization potential via the above threshold ionization (ATI) process. This ATI momentum explicitly depends on the polarization state of the ionizing laser and eventually governs the dynamics of the electron beam trapped inside the wake potential. In order to systematically investigate the effect of the laser polarization, here, we have employed complete three-dimensional particle-in-cell simulations in the nonlinear bubble regime of the LWFAs. We focus, in particular, on the effects the laser polarization has on the ionization injection mechanism, and how these features affect the final beam properties, such as beam charge, energy, energy spread, and transverse emittance. We have also found that as the laser polarization gradually changes from linear to circular, the helicity of the electron trajectory, and hence the angular momentum carried by the beam, increases significantly. Studies have been further extended to reveal the effect of laser polarization on the radiation emitted by the accelerated electrons. The far-field radiation spectra have been calculated for the linear and circular polarization states of the laser. It has been shown that the spatial distributions and the polarization properties (Stokes parameters) of the emitted radiation in the above two cases are substantially different. Therefore, our study provides a facile and efficient alternative to regulate the properties of the accelerated electron beams and x-ray radiation in LWFAs, utilizing ionization injection mechanism. This article presents the properties of a Ti coating (angle of grain growth, thickness of the deposited layer, adhesion, and roughness of the deposited layer) deposited on the inner surface of a steel tube. The Ti coating was deposited using the EB PVD (electron beam physical vapor deposition) method. The areas in which the measurements were carried out are defined by the height of the measured area under the target (from 305 to 425 mm) and the radius of the tube (from 100 to 140 mm). The measurements showed that the angle of grain growth is in an interval from 40 to 61°. The results of the statistical analysis demonstrate that the height of the measured area and the tube radius significantly impact the angle of grain growth and adhesion. Using ab initio molecular dynamics (AIMD), the cascade collision process in GaN irradiated by low‐energy electron beam and the temperature effect on the threshold displacement energy (TDE) are investigated. The temperature effect of the TDE is found to exhibit different patterns for Ga and N primary knock‐on atoms (PKAs). In the considered energy range of initial kinetic energy (40 to 80 eV), displacements induced by Ga PKA show high uncertainty, i.e., the TDE energy strongly depends on the initial configurations, and kinetic energies higher than TDE does not ensure the displacements that form defects. On the contrary, temperature shows relatively small effect on its TDE and displacement induced by N PKAs, which can essentially occur when the PKA kinetic energy is higher than the TDE. Such different effects are possibly due to the different atomic radii of the two elements and the different energy barriers to overcome. Ga PKAs, which have larger atomic radii, are relatively difficult to stabilize in the crystal and tend to relax to its original position with the assistance of thermal vibrations, and vice versa for N PKAs. The simulation results provide a new understanding of TDE and the cascade collisions of PKAs in GaN at finite temperatures, which can be instructive for improving the radiation resistance of GaN devices. Purpose: This study investigated the potential of a commercially available plastic scintillator, the Exradin W2, as a real‐time dosimeter for ultra‐high‐dose‐rate (UHDR) electron beams. This work aimed to characterize this system's performance under UHDR conditions and addressed limitations inherent to other conventional dosimetry systems. Methods and materials: We assessed the W2's performance as a UHDR electron dosimeter using a 16 MeV UHDR electron beam from the FLASH research extension (FLEX) system. Additionally, the vendor provided a beta firmware upgrade to better handle the processing of the high signal generated in the UHDR environment. We evaluated the W2 regarding dose‐per‐pulse, pulse repetition rate, charge versus distance, and pulse linearity. Absorbed dose measurements were compared against those from a plane‐parallel ionization chamber, optically stimulated luminescent dosimeters and radiochromic film. Results: We observed that the 1 × 1 mm W2 scintillator with the MAX SD was more suitable for UHDR dosimetry compared to the 1 × 3 mm W2 scintillator, capable of matching film measurements within 2% accuracy for dose‐per‐pulse up to 3.6 Gy/pulse. The W2 accurately ascertained the inverse square relationship regarding charge versus virtual source distance with R2 of ∼1.00 for all channels. Pulse linearity was accurately measured with the W2, demonstrating a proportional response to the delivered pulse number. There was no discernible impact on the measured charge of the W2 when switching between the available repetition rates of the FLEX system (18–180 pulses/s), solidifying consistent beam output across pulse frequencies. Conclusions: This study tested a commercial plastic scintillator detector in a UHDR electron beam, paving the way for its potential use as a real‐time, patient‐specific dosimetry tool for future FLASH radiotherapy treatments. Further research is warranted to test and improve the signal processing of the W2 dosimetry system to accurately measure in UHDR environments using exceedingly high dose‐per‐pulse and pulse numbers. The buried interface tens of nanometers beneath the solid-liquid junction is crucial for photocarrier extraction, influencing the overall efficiency of photoelectrochemical devices. Precise characterization of the interfacial properties is essential for device optimization but remains challenging. Here, we directly probe the in situ transformation of a CuxO interlayer at the NiO/n-Si interface by hard X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. It is found that Cu(I) in the CuxO interlayer gradually transforms to Cu(II) with air exposure, forming an energetically more favorable interface and improving photoanode's efficiency. Based on this finding, a reactive e-beam evaporation process is developed for the direct deposition of a CuO interlayer, achieving a half-cell solar-to-hydrogen efficiency of 4.56% for the optimized NiO/CuO/n-Si heterojunction photoanode. Our results highlight the importance of precision characterization of interfacial properties with advanced hard X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy in guiding the design of efficient solar water-splitting devices. Among colloidal nanocrystals, 2D nanoplatelets offer a unique set of properties with exceptionally narrow luminescence and low lasing thresholds. Furthermore, their anisotropic shape expands the playground for the complex design of heterostructures where spectra but also scattering rates can be engineered. A challenge that still remains is to combine shell growth which makes NPLs stable, with spectral tunability. Indeed, most reported shelled nanoplatelets end up being red emitters due to a loss of quantum confinement. Here, the combination of both lateral and in‐plane confinements within a single heterostructure is explored. A CdS/CdSe/CdS/CdZnS core–crown–crown shell structure that enables yellow emission is grown and that is responsive to a large range of excitation including visible photons, X‐ray photons, electron beams, and electrical excitations. k.p simulations predict that emission tunability of up to several 100 s of meV can be obtained in ideal structures. This material also displays stimulated emission resulting from bi‐exciton emission with a low threshold. Once integrated into an LED stack, this material is compatible with sub‐bandgap excitation and exhibits high luminance. Solar flares are powerful particle accelerators, and in the accepted standard flare model most of the flare energy is transported from a coronal energy-release region by accelerated electrons that stop collisionally in the chromosphere, heating and ionizing the plasma, producing a broad-band enhancement to the solar radiative output. We present a time-delay analysis of the infrared (IR) emission from two chromospheric sources in the flare SOL2014-09-24T17:50 taken at the McMath–Pierce telescope. By cross-correlating the intensity signals, measured with 1 s cadence, from the two spatially resolved IR sources we find a delay of |$0.75\pm 0.07$| s at |$8.2\,\mu$| m, where the uncertainties are quantified by a Monte Carlo analysis. The sources correlate well in brightness but have a time lag larger than can be reasonably explained by the energy transport dominated by non-thermal electrons precipitating from a single acceleration site in the corona. If interpreted as a time-of-flight difference between electrons travelling to each footpoint, we estimate time delays between 0.14 and 0.42 s, for a reconnection site at the interior quasi-separatrix layer, or at the null-point of the spine-fan topology inferred for this event. We employed modelling of electron transport via time-dependent Fokker–Planck and radiative hydrodynamic simulations to evaluate other possible sources of time-delay in the generation of the IR emission, such as differing ionization time-scales under different chromospheric conditions. Our results demonstrate that they are also unable to account for this discrepancy. This flare appears to require energy transport by some means other than electron beams originating in the corona. This study introduces the integration of dynamic computer vision-enabled imaging with electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS) in scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM). This approach involves real-time discovery and analysis of atomic structures as they form, allowing us to observe the evolution of material properties at the atomic level, capturing transient states traditional techniques often miss. Rapid object detection and action system enhances the efficiency and accuracy of STEM-EELS by autonomously identifying and targeting only areas of interest. This machine learning (ML)-based approach differs from classical ML in that it must be executed on the fly, not using static data. We apply this technology to V-doped MoS2, uncovering insights into defect formation and evolution under electron beam exposure. This approach opens uncharted avenues for exploring and characterizing materials in dynamic states, offering a pathway to increase our understanding of dynamic phenomena in materials under thermal, chemical, and beam stimuli. Electron beam selective melting is a metal powder bed fusion additive manufacturing technology. In order to study the temperature field and melt pool changes of high Nb-TiAl electron beam selective melting on a single scan line and multi-scan lines. In this paper, two three-dimensional thermal-fluid models are established to simulate the evolution of the melt pool and temperature field at different electron beam scanning speeds under a single scan line and the evolution of the temperature field under multi-scan lines. The simulation results of a single scan line show that the length of the bath increases with the increase in the electron beam scanning speed, while the width and depth of the bath decrease with the increase in the speed. The scanning speed has a significant impact on the length and depth of the micro-bath, but the impact on the width is relatively small. The simulation results of multi-scan lines show that the preheating temperature has a greater influence on the melting temperature field, while the size of the scanning current has a smaller influence on the temperature field. The conclusion drawn from the results obtained through simulation is that the temperature during the preheating process must be strictly controlled, and the melting process speed must be appropriately set in order to obtain high-quality samples. A comprehensive understanding of the interaction between electron beams and carbon nanotubes (CNTs) in scanning electron microscope (SEM) can be challenging due to the complex surface charging behavior and various nanostructures formed by CNTs. Herein, an overview of the challenges and potential solutions are provided for achieving high‐resolution imaging of nanomaterials, such as CNTs, in SEM systems. First, imaging mechanisms of CNTs on conducting, insulating, and hybrid substrates are summarized, with morphology, material type, and charging effect covered. Second, measuring the conductivity, bandgap, and diameter of a CNT by SEM method is introduced. Finally, the utilization of super‐aligned CNT (SACNT) films for observing insulators and vertically aligned CNT arrays (VACNTAs) as electron blackbodies are discussed separately. External beam radiation therapy (EBRT) using electrons and an internal eye shield is an alternative, relatively underreported technique which can provide similar cosmetic and functional outcomes. This report aimed to describe the process for the use of internal eye shields at GenesisCare Fraser Coast Radiation Oncology (GCFCRO) and the associated clinical outcomes and patient perceptions of the delivery and results of this procedure.This project was conducted in two phases. Phase I was an audit of the departmental technique and short‐term clinical outcomes of 17 patients who received EBRT for skin cancer near the eyes at GCFCRO in partnership with Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service (WBHHS). Phase II was a survey of nine of those patients to elicit the patient perspective of the delivery and long‐term outcomes of the treatment.Phase I revealed the departmental procedures for simulation, planning and treatment at GCFCRO are consistent with other departments published protocols. On days 2023‐364 and 2024‐034, the Juno spacecraft made close passages of Jupiter's moon Io, at altitudes of about 1,500 km. Data obtained from the first flyby, when the spacecraft was on magnetic field lines connected to both Jupiter and Io, revealed deep flux decreases. In addition, Juno's energetic particle detectors observed tens to hundreds of keV electron and proton beams. Such beams could be generated near Jupiter on field lines associated with Io. The second encounter occurred in the plasma wake and a more modest flux decrease was observed. Furthermore, data from both encounters suggest a spatially extensive decrease in >1 MeV electrons that includes regions inward of Io's orbit. In the immediate vicinity of Io, signatures of absorption likely dominate the data whereas diffusion and wave‐particle interactions are expected to be needed to understand MeV electron data in the wider spatial region around Io. Plain Language Summary: Jupiter's magnetospheric plasma overtakes Io in its orbit. This causes a cavity to be formed over the hemisphere of Io that leads its orbital motion. Examples include beams traveling in the direction from Jupiter to the moon, with little evidence of reflection at Io. Another major finding of this work is that there is a large region both along Io's orbit and even radially inward of it with a lower level of MeV electron flux. Guided by previous modeling, the most likely candidates for shaping the data are absorption by the moon, wave‐particle interactions that can scatter particles into Jupiter's atmosphere, and diffusion. Jupiter's moon Europa contains a subsurface ocean whose presence is inferred from magnetic field measurements, the interpretation of which depends on knowledge of Europa's local plasma environment. A recent Juno spacecraft flyby returned new observations of plasma electrons with unprecedented resolution. Specifically, powerful magnetic field‐aligned electron beams were discovered near Europa. These beams, with energies from ∼30 to ∼300 eV, locally enhance electron‐impact‐excited emissions and ionization in Europa's atmosphere by more than a factor three over the local space environment, and are associated with large jumps of the magnetic fields. The beams therefore play an essential role in shaping Europa's plasma and magnetic field environment and thus need to be accounted for electromagnetic sounding of Europa's ocean and plume detection by future missions such as JUICE and Europa Clipper. Plain Language Summary: A recent Juno spacecraft close flyby of Jupiter's moon Europa revealed the presence of powerful electrons beams. Based on previous observations and modeling of electron beams at the moon Io, such beams were not expected to be observed so close to Europa. In this study, a C-series linear accelerator was configured to enable rapid and reliable conversion between the production of conventional electron beams and an ultrahigh-dose-rate (UHDR) electron beamline to the treatment room isocenter for FLASH radiation therapy. Efforts to tune the beam resulted in a consistent, stable UHDR beamline. The linear accelerator was configured to allow for efficient switching between conventional and modified electron output modes within 2 minutes. Additions to the air system allow for retraction of the x-ray target from the beamline when the 10 MV photon mode is selected. With the carousel set to an empty port, this grants access to the higher current pristine electron beam normally used to produce clinical photon fields. Monitoring signals related to the automatic frequency control system allows for tuning of the waveguide while the machine is in a hold state so a stable beam is produced from the initial pulse. A pulse counting system implemented on an field-programmable gate array-based controller platform controls the delivery to a desired number of pulses. Beam profiles were measured with Gafchromic film. Pulse-by-pulse dosimetry was measured using a custom electrometer designed around the EDGE diode. This method reliably produces a stable UHDR electron beam. Open-field measurements of the 16-cm full-width, half-maximum gaussian beam saw average dose rates of 432 Gy/s at treatment isocenter. Pulse overshoots were limited and ramp up was eliminated. Over the last year, there have been no recorded incidents that resulted in machine downtime due to the UHDR conversions. Stable 10 MeV UHDR beams were generated to produce an average dose rate of 432 Gy/s at the treatment room isocenter. With a reliable pulse-counting beam control system, consistent doses can be delivered for FLASH experiments with the ability to accommodate a wide range of field sizes, source-to-surface distances, and other experimental apparatus that may be relevant for future clinical translation. To break the resolution limitation of traditional resists, more work is needed on non-chemically amplified resists (non-CARs). Non-CARs based on iodonium salt modified polystyrene (PS-I) were prepared with controllable molecular weight and structure. The properties of the resist can be adjusted by the uploading of iodonium salts on the polymer chain, the materials with a higher proportion of iodonium salts show better lithography performance. By comparing contrast curves and quality of the lithographic patterns, the optimum developing condition of 4-methyl-2-pentanone and ethyl alcohol (v:v = 1:7) was selected. The high-resolution stripes of 15 nm half-pitch (HP) can be achieved by PS-I0.58 in e-beam lithography (EBL). PS-I0.58 shows the advanced lithography performance in the patterns of 16 nm HP and 18 nm HP stripes with low line edge roughness (3.0 nm and 2.4 nm). The resist shows excellent potential for further pattern transfer, the etch selectivity of resist PS-I0.58 to the silicon was close to 12:1. The lithographic mechanism of PS-I was investigated by experimental and theoretical calculation, which indicates the polarity of materials changes results in the solubility switch. An Addendum to the AAPM's TG‐51 protocol for the determination of absorbed dose to water is presented for electron beams with energies between 4 MeV and 22 MeV (1.70cm≤R50≤8.70cm$1.70\nobreakspace {\rm cm} \le R_{\text{50}} \le 8.70\nobreakspace {\rm cm}$). This updated formalism allows simplified calibration procedures, including the use of calibrated cylindrical ionization chambers in all electron beams without the use of a gradient correction. New kQ$k_{Q}$ data are provided for electron beams based on Monte Carlo simulations. Implementation guidance is provided. Components of the uncertainty budget in determining absorbed dose to water at the reference depth are discussed. Specifications for a reference‐class chamber in electron beams include chamber stability, settling, ion recombination behavior, and polarity dependence. Progress in electron beam reference dosimetry is reviewed. Although this report introduces some major changes (e.g., gradient corrections are implicitly included in the electron beam quality conversion factors), they serve to simplify the calibration procedure. Spontaneous polarization and crystallographic orientations within ferroelectric domains are investigated using an epitaxially grown BiFeO3 thin film under bi-axial tensile strain. Four dimensional-scanning transmission electron microscopy (4D-STEM) and atomic resolution STEM techniques revealed that the tensile strain applied is not enough to cause breakdown of equilibrium BiFeO3 symmetry (rhombohedral with space group: R3c). 4D-STEM data exhibit two types of BiFeO3 ferroelectric domains: one with projected polarization vector possessing out-of-plane component only, and the other with that consisting of both in-plane and out-of-plane components. For domains with only out-of-plane polarization, convergent beam electron diffraction (CBED) patterns exhibit "extra" Bragg's reflections (compared to CBED of cubic-perovskite) that indicate rhombohedral symmetry. Focused Very-High Energy Electron (VHEE, 50–300 MeV) and Ultra-High Energy Electron (UHEE, > 300 MeV) beams can accurately target both large and deeply seated human tumors with high sparing properties, while avoiding the spatial requirements and cost of proton and heavy ion facilities. Advanced testing phases are underway at the CLEAR facilities at CERN (Switzerland), NLCTA at Stanford (USA), and SPARC at INFN (Italy), aiming to accelerate the transition to clinical application. Currently, Monte Carlo (MC) transport is the sole paradigm supporting preclinical trials and imminent clinical deployment. In this paper, we propose an alternative: the first extension of the nuclear-reactor deterministic chain Njoy-Dragon for VHEE and UHEE applications. We have extended the Boltzmann-Fokker-Planck (BFP) multigroup formalism and validated it using standard radio-oncology benchmarks, complex assemblies with a wide range of atomic numbers, and comprehensive irradiation of the entire periodic table. We report that 99 % of water voxels exhibit a BFP-MC deviation below 2 % for electron energies under 1.5 GeV . Additionally, we demonstrate that at least 97 % of voxels of bone, lung, adipose tissue, muscle, soft tissue, tumor, steel, and aluminum meet the same criterion between 50 MeV and 1.5 GeV . For water, the thorax, and the breast intra-operative benchmark, typical average BFP-MC deviations of 0.3 % and 0.4 % were observed at 300 MeV and 1 GeV , respectively. By irradiating the entire periodic table, we observed similar performance between lithium ( Z = 3 ) and cerium ( Z = 58 ). Deficiencies observed between praseodymium ( Z = 59 ) and einsteinium ( Z = 99 ) have been reported, analyzed, and quantified, offering critical insights for the ongoing development of the Evaluated Nuclear Data File mode in Njoy.
