- Abstract
Green Technologies is described as the efficient use of computational resources belittling environmental damage, expanding its economic possibility and affirming social needs. This in such a way can be defined as a set of methods that reduce the computing impact on the environment, in such a way that the recycling of the many components used is considered in order to give other people the possibility of continuing to obtain the take advantage of this technology. It not only identifies the main energy consumers and manufacturers of environmental waste, but it offers you the development of green computer products and in such a way promotes computer recycling. As for green software, in 1992, the US Environmental Protection Agency launched Energy Star, a voluntary labeling program to originate and record energy efficiency in computers, climate monitoring units, and other technological methods. As for Some of the technologies classified as green because they support the reduction in energy consumption or carbon dioxide emissions are cloud computing, grid computing, virtualization in data centers and teleworking. The existence of green software clearly depends on where the energy used in the equipment where it is developed and used starts from. This is an area in which it is not always easy to work, primarily due to the impact of computers and servers at points in the environment for powering the equipment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
In the case of prosthetics for fingers, they continue to be researched and developed in such a way that they can completely replace their functionality, trying to maintain as much aesthetics as possible. The main objective of this project is to design a prosthesis that manages to functionally replace the loss of a phalanx of the finger. Seeking to allow complete customization and adaptability of the product and minimize the effort of its users. Initially, an anatomical study phase has been carried out in order to know and define the necessary information to carry out the design of the project. In addition, the existing background has been studied, seeking to create an improved and differentiable product. Mechanical studies have been carried out to ensure the optimal functionality of the prosthesis, as well as studies of materials and mechanical resistance to achieve a product with a brand image ready for sale. Once all the parameters have been defined and a design phase has been carried out, a range of three prostheses for hand amputations have been obtained. These act according to the degree of amputation, as well as the type of finger in which they are involved, allowing customization in their measurements. The three models of prostheses have complete customization and a movement similar to that of a real finger, as well as with a brand associated with an aesthetic aspect that seeks to inspire tranquillity and hope to its users, as well as a lower cost than the rest of the products in the sector.

DOUBLE standard , *FREIGHT & freightage , *RAILROAD stations , *PAVEMENTS , *COMPARATIVE studies , *TIRES - Abstract
This work presents a case study to develop a comparative analysis that evaluates a soy transportation route under a different aspect. An extra tire was simulated to be added to the standard double axle recommended by Brazilian norms, and a comparative study was made relating load and cost freight on a pre-identified stretch of highway through the state of Mato Grosso, and Mato Grosso do Sul, from the city of Lucas do Rio Verde to the Rondonópolis train station, the route between the producer and the railroad that directs the cargo to the port. Through the results, it was possible to understand that this type of axle with triple wheels becomes interesting in the financial aspect of the cost of transport, allowing, in the same freight, a greater amount of load generating the same damage to the pavement, without affecting the pavement's useful life, which was initially designed to last ten years. The Banco Municipal de Préstamos y Cajas de Ahorro of the city of Buenos Aires, which was born in 1878 as Monte de Piedad as an institution to help the poorest with pawnbroking loans, underwent significant transformations in its functioning during the period of radicalism from 1916 to 1930. Originally, its almost exclusive function was that of the pledge of goods. From 1904 onwards, the opening of savings banks began and allowed the creation of a key source of financing. The radical administrations, which began with Hipólito Yrigoyen's triumph in 1916, continued and deepened the Bank's traditional social action role, although they linked it to the party's activity. This led to a political conflict between the Intendancy and the Deliberative Council, especially on the part of the socialist representatives. In parallel, the Bank experienced a strong expansion in its profits and capital in the 1920s. As a result of this growth, the government attempted to turn it into its lender and financial agent, a project that was completed in the early 1930, to transform it not only into the city's financial agent but also into a commercial entity. There is a greater demand for a wider range of translation services that increasingly involve scientific, commercial, legal, or technical documents. Translation is no longer limited to literary works which have historically been the main focus of the translation industry in Indonesia. As it is believed that university is the best place for translator training (Bernardini, 2004; Maia, 2012), there have been attempts to put legal and economic translation into the curriculum with the premise that students should be exposed to different types of text to ensure that the materials used in translation classes are relevant to market needs (Kelly, 2000; Heidari and Mowlaie, 2016) However, translating business texts is quite challenging for students because it requires knowledge of text type and genre differences in the SL and TL, and the awareness of the relationship between context and register in terms of field, mode, and tenor are vital for the translator (Beeby, 2000). This paper discusses errors produced by Indonesian novice translators in translating terminology in business texts. The samples used in this study were produced by students at the English Department of Politeknik Negeri Padang in West Sumatra, Indonesia. The institution is a vocational college that trains students in practical competencies, including to work as professional translators. The aim of this paper is to identify the strategies used by students in solving translation problems in an effort to better understand the issues faced in the field of translation in Indonesia.

- Abstract
The pandemic that shook the world had many consequences, and the academic field was not exempt. This situation, in addition to affecting the family unit, manifested itself directly in the educational system, including all the actors in this sector ranging from: the student, teacher, management unit and even facilities. The National Technology of Mexico in Roque (TECNM de Roque), has different higher level careers. Agronomy Engineering is the career with the highest demand, thus reflecting an uninterrupted semester of admission, participating with an enrollment of 550 students spread over 9 semesters. This study considered 136 respondents, distributed among students from the third and fifth semester, representing 24.70% of the total enrollment. The students enrolled in the agronomy degree are mostly middle, lower middle and lower class students, where economic resources regularly represent the triggering factor in the school dropout indicator. Likewise, this study considers 13 items, which were applied to students in intermediate semesters, considered as “students adapted to the professional system.” These students, on average, take 6 to 7 subjects per semester, in the morning or afternoon shift. Most students take an average of two public transportation vehicles to get to the TecNM facilities in Roque. Likewise, the study also seeks to have elements to understand the expenses commonly incurred by students, the impact they cause, in order to seek support on academic issues that could be within the reach of the teacher, psychological care and the management unit of the school. institution. The effects with the greatest impact on the teaching-learning process are: learning, health and the economy, for this reason, the relevance of this study is to try to obtain elements for decision making. The SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) changed the structures of life, these conditions were affected economically, from layoffs of the main provider of the economic resource, call it the parent, La pandemia que sacudió al mundo, tuvo muchas consecuencias, y el ámbito académico no quedó exento, esta situación además de afectar el núcleo familiar, se manifestó de manera directa en el sistema educativo, incluyendo a todos los actores de este sector que van desde: el alumno, maestro, unidad directiva e incluso instalaciones. Tots els equips han estat elegits perquè no hi hagi cap problema amb la integració de control de l’aeroport., Due to both the increase in traffic and the outside temperature at Ibiza airport, it has been decided to redesign the air conditioning system to cope with the thermal load produced by one of the busiest rooms in the airport, the security filter area. In order to carry out this project, the installation has been dimensioned in the following order: Calculation of the thermal load at the most unfavourable moment, selection of the equipment to cope with the previous load, sizing of the piping system and pressure groups for the water supply to the equipment according to the installed power and finally the preparation of an economic proposal. The result of the sizing has been pleasantly satisfactory, resulting in a functional installation in mechanical terms and with room for expansion of the climate network for future modifications. All the equipment has been chosen so that there is no problem with integration into the airport control system.

- Abstract
The economic crisis of 1980 exposed the failures of the interventionist development model that had been practiced in Costa Rica, especially since the entry into the Mercado Común Centroamericano (MCCA), which implied a strong policy of promoting industry, to achieve import substitution and stop depending so much on agricultural products. But, despite the industrial incentives, by the 1970s there was still no glimpse of a strong sector, capable of competing and ceasing to depend on the stimuli that the government gave it. When the crisis arrived, many technocrats took the opportunity to point to the industry as the main causer of the recession, reflected in the imbalance of the balance of payments. Given this scenery, this paper aims to show the version of industrialists in the face of the crisis and criticism from other sectors. How did they defend themselves? What did they think about the crisis?

The spread of COVID-19 led countries around the world to adopt lockdown measures of varying stringency, with the purpose of restricting the movement of people. However, the effectiveness of these measures on mobility has been markedly different. Employing a difference-in-differences design, we analyse the effectiveness of movement restrictions across different countries. We disentangle the role of regulation (stringency measures) from the role of people's knowledge about the spread of COVID-19. We proxy COVID-19 knowledge by using Google Trends data on the term "Covid". We find that lockdown measures have a higher impact on mobility the more people learn about COVID-19. This finding is driven by countries with low levels of trust in institutions and low levels of education.

Microalgae are studied as innovative sources of a wide range of highly valuable products, including proteins for the food/feed sectors. However, protein content varies depending on algal species, culture conditions and harvesting period. The Phylum Chlorophyta includes most of the described species of green algae. Due to their remarkable peculiarities, four Chlorophyta species belonging to two distinct classes were selected for the research: Chlorella vulgaris and Chlorella protothecoides as Trebouxiophyceae, and Neochloris oleoabundans and Scenedesmus acutus as Chlorophyceae. The algae were studied to obtain comparative results about their growth performance, and total protein content and profile under the same culture conditions. Since photosynthetic process directly influences biomass production, photosynthetic pigment, PSII maximum quantum yield and thylakoid protein content and profile were analysed. SDS-PAGE and 2D BN/SDS-PAGE were performed to expand information on the organization and assembly of the resolved thylakoid complexes of samples. Despite the algal species showed similar growth rates and photosynthetic efficiency, S. acutus showed the highest capability to accumulate proteins and photosynthetic pigments. Regarding the thylakoid protein profile, the two Trebouxiophyceae showed very similar pattern, whereas different amounts of LHCII occurred within the two Chlorophyceae. Finally, the separation of thylakoid protein complexes in 2D BN/SDS-PAGE revealed a more complex pattern in S. acutus as compared to the other species. Overall, it is suggested that a higher stability of the photosynthetic membranes can result in higher biomass and protein production. Altogether, results have highlighted the metabolic uniqueness of each strain, resulting in a non-obvious comparison with the other species.

The literature on migrants’ integration and wellbeing is ample, but the case of economic-asylum seekers in a protracted asylum application system is yet to receive sufficient attention. The economic-asylum seekers are a unique group who migrate with an economic motive but apply for asylum to achieve economic integration in the host country. We use the aspiration-capability framework and a mixed-method approach: participant observation, focus group discussion, and field survey, to study a group of economic-asylum seekers from Nigeria when they were waiting for their asylum decisions in Italy. We find that they evaluate their wellbeing by reflecting on their premigration aspirations, integration constraints, and capabilities. They report lower life satisfaction compared to their satisfaction in Nigeria, and were affected by several barriers including structural, psychological, economic, and social constraints. Our study generally describes what it is like to live in limbo and frustration, with a limited assurance for a better tomorrow. It gives voice to the economic-asylum seekers and contributes to the integration literature by examining their perceptions of integration constraints.

Background and Purpose: Sex-related differences exist in many aspects of acute stroke and were mainly investigated in the early time window with conflicting results. However, data regarding sex disparities in late presenters are scarce. Therefore, we sought to investigate differences in outcomes between women and men treated with endovascular treatment in the late time window. Methods: Analyses were based on the SOLSTICE Consortium (Selection of Late-Window Stroke for Thrombectomy by Imaging Collateral Extent), which was an individual-patient level analysis of seven trials and registries. Baseline characteristics, 90-day functional independence (modified Rankin Scale score ≤2), mortality, and symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage were compared between women and men. Effect of sex on the association of age and successful reperfusion (final Thrombolysis in Cerebral Infarction 2b–3) with outcomes was assessed using multivariable logistic regression adjusted for age, National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score, Alberta Stroke Program Early CT Score, time from onset to puncture, occlusion location, intravenous thrombolysis, and successful reperfusion, with interaction terms. Results: Among 608 patients treated with endovascular treatment, 50.5% were women. Women were older than men (median age of 72 versus 68 years, P =0.02) and had a lower prevalence of tandem occlusions (14.0% versus 22.9%, P =0.005). Workflow times were similar between sexes. Adjusted outcomes did not differ between women and men. Functional independence at 90 days was achieved by 127 out of 292 women (43.5%) and 135 out of 291 men (46.4%). Mortality at 90 days (54 [18.5%] versus 48 [16.5%]) and symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage (37 [13.3%] versus 33 [11.6%]) were similar between women and men. There was no sex-by-age interaction on functional outcomes. However, men had higher likelihood of mortality ( P interaction =0.003) and symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage ( P interaction =0.017) with advancing age. Sex did not influence the relation between successful reperfusion and outcomes. Conclusions: In this multicenter analysis of late patients treated with endovascular treatment, sex was not associated with functional outcome. However, sex influenced the association between age and safety outcomes, with men experiencing worse outcomes with advancing age.

The objective of this paper is to provide a review of recent economic literature related to the Bioeconomy, in particular aimed at identifying relevant pathways for future research in this field. The paper is organised in four main parts. First, we illustrate the economic role of the Bioeconomy and its key statistics in the EU. Second we review economic topics related to the Bioeconomy production in a mainly private (company, consumer, market) perspective. Then we extend our attention to the review of wider social and environmental aspects with a focus on ecosystem services. Finally, we discuss the interplay of the above topics and cross cutting issues in the attempt to identify the most promising pathways for further research. While the economic literature is growing fast in all the fields of the Bioeconomy, we highlight in particular the need of more economic research focusing on transitions and innovation. However, we also highlight the need to take a system perspective and accounting explicitly for the trade-offs among the many objectives that the Bioeconomy is expected to target and to better account of the costs and benefits affecting different stakeholder groups.

Bulk sulfur incorporating 3 wt% gold nano-powder is investigated as possible candidate to maximize the fraction of active material in the Li-S battery cathode. The material is prepared via simple mixing of gold with molten sulfur at 120 °C, quenching at room temperature, and grinding. Our comprehensive study reports relevant electrochemical data, advanced X-ray computed tomography (CT) imaging of the positive and negative electrodes, and a thorough structural and morphological characterization of the S:Au 97:3 w/w composite. This cathode exhibits high rate capability within the range from C/10 to 1C, a maximum capacity above 1300 mAh gS−1, and capacity retention between 85% and 91% after 100 cycles at 1C and C/3 rates. The novel formulation enables a sulfur fraction in the composite cathode film as high as 78 wt%, an active material loading of 5.7 mg cm−2, and an electrolyte/sulfur (E/S) ratio of 5 μL mg−1, which lead to a maximum areal capacity of 5.4 mAh cm−2. X-ray CT at the micro- and nanoscale reveals the microstructural features of the positive electrode that favor fast conversion kinetics in the battery. Quantitative analysis of sulfur distribution in the porous cathode displays that electrodeposition during the initial cycle may trigger an activation process in the cell leading to improved performance. Furthermore, the tomography study reveals the characteristics of the lithium anode and the cell separator upon a galvanostatic test prolonged over 300 cycles at a 2C rate.

The concept of green in a battery involves the chemical nature of electrodes and electrolytes as well as the economic sustainability of the cell. Although these aspects are typically discussed separately, they are deeply interconnected: indeed, a new electrolyte can allow the use of different cathodes with higher energy, lower cost or more pronounced environmental compatibility. We focus on alternative class of electrolyte solutions for lithium batteries formed by dissolving LiX salts in glyme solvents, i.e., organic ethers with the molecular formula CH3O[CH2CH2O]nCH3 differing by chain length. The advantages of these electrolytes are illustrated in terms of flammability, stability, toxicity, environmental compatibility, cell performances and economic impact. A particular light is shed on the stability of these systems, particularly in the polymer state, and in various environments including oxygen, sulfur and high-energy lithium metal. The most relevant studies on the chemical-physical features, the characteristic structures, the favorable properties, and the electrochemical behavior of the glyme-based solutions are discussed, and the most recent technological achievements in terms of cell design and battery performance are described. The use of glyme-based electrolytes in high-energy cells arranged by coupling the lithium-metal anode with conventional insertion cathodes as well as in alternative and new batteries exploiting the Li-S and Li-O2 conversion processes are described in detail. The paragraphs reveal bonuses, including safety, low cost and sustainability, that can be achieved by employing the glyme-based electrolytes with respect to the commercially available ones, in particular taking into account future and alternative applications. Particular relevance is given by the glymes with long chain that reveal a remarkable stability, high safety and very low toxicity.

This paper is a substantially revised version of the SEEDS Working Paper 01/2020 : http://www.sustainability-seeds.org/papers/RePec/srt/wpaper/0120.pdf; This paper reconsiders the international technology diffusion model. Because the high degree of uncertainty surrounding the Data Generating Process and the likely presence of nonlinearities and latent common factors, it considers alternative nonparametric panel specifications which extend the Common Correlated Effects approach and then contrasts the out-of-sample performance of them with those of more common parametric models. To do so, we extend a recently proposed data-driven model choice approach, which takes its roots on cross validation and aims at testing whether two competing approximate models are equivalent in terms of their expected true error, to the case of cross-sectionally dependent panels, by exploiting moving block bootstrap resampling methods and assessing forecasting performances of competing models. Our results indicate that the adoption of a fully nonparametric specification provides better performances. This work also refines previous results by showing threshold effects, nonlinearities and interactions, which are obscured in parametric specifications and which have relevant implications for policy.

The interests that revolve around the mandatory indication of the place of origin of a food product are multiple and often conflicting with each other. Alongside the interests of some producers wishing to highlight the geographical origin of their products, there are conflicting interests of other producers who, for different reasons, prefer not to disclose the origin of their product. Then there are also interests of consumers interested at receiving an ever greater and transparency of the extensive information on the product offered. The indication of the origin of a food product can also constitute an element that has an impact on the proper functioning of the internal market to the extent that it can ultimately induce consumers to purchase national products or, at least, it may affect their purchasing choices: it is therefore necessary to assess the compatibility of the mandatory indication of the origin of the food with the principle of the free movement of goods. This competition of interests explains why the European Union’s legislation on this point is somewhat ambiguous: this paper, apart from the presentation of collective marks and certification marks which, although in a limited way, may contain references to the geographical origin of the products, points out to the provisions contained in Regulation EU 1169/2011 on the provision of food information to consumers, as well as the provisions regulating the products with PDO and PGI certificates.
