Introduction: Obesity is considered a risk factor for other chronic illnesses, such as type 2 diabetes mellitus, hypertension, dyslipidemia, cardiovascular diseases, and other disorders. A therapeutic approach is bariatric surgery (BS), which is considered the most effective intervention for severe obesity and ameliorates these comorbidities. Some polymorphisms are considered markers for addictive disorders and hedonic hunger and are associated with BMI. The objective was to analyze factors associated with the success of BS, including rs1800497 ANKK1 and rs1799732 DRD2 polymorphisms, eating behavior, hedonic hunger, and depressive symptoms. Methods We included 101 patients who underwent BS from 2010 to 2021 from the surgery service of a public hospital. We registered anthropometry and applied 3 questionnaires to evaluate eating behavior (TFEQ-R18), hedonic hunger (PFS), and depressive symptoms (PHQ-9). We typed the ANKK1 rs1800497 and rs1799732 DRD2 polymorphisms and evaluated biochemistry characteristics. Results The median weight loss was 34.7 kg with a BMI of 33.8 kg/m2. Weight loss was negatively associated with triglycerides (p = 0.011) and positively associated with the TFEQ-R18 (p = 0.006). Regarding polymorphisms, rs1800497 ANKK1 was associated with TFEQ-R18 (OR = 1.13 (1.02–1.25), p = 0.009), but rs1799732 DRD2 was not associated with either studied variable. We also found a negative correlation of actual BMI with scholarship (r=-0.29, p = 0.02). Conclusion We observed an improvement in metabolic and anthropometric parameters post-BS. Interestingly, the ANKK1 Taq1A polymorphism was associated with eating behavior, and scholarship with BMI could consider predictors of BS outcomes.

OMICAS Crop phenotyping is a desirable task in crop characterization since it allows the farmer to make early decisions, and therefore be more productive. This research is motivated by the generation of tools for rice crop phenotyping within the OMICAS research ecosystem framework. It proposes implementing the image process- ing technologies and artificial intelligence technics through a multisensory approach with multispectral information. Three main stages are covered: (i) A segmentation approach that allows identifying the biological material associated with plants, and the main contri- bution is the GFKuts segmentation approach; (ii) a strategy that allows the development of sensory fusion between three different cameras, a 3D camera, an infrared multispectral camera, and a thermal multispectral camera, this stage is developed through a complex object detection approach; and (iii) the characterization of a 4D model that generates topological relationships with the information of the point cloud, the main contribution of this strategy is the improvement of the point cloud captured by the 3D sensor, in this sense, this stage improves the acquisition of any 3D sensor. This research presents a development that receives information from multiple sensors, especially infrared 2D, and generates a single 4D model in geometric space [X, Y, Z]. This model integrates the color information of 5 channels and topological information, relating the points in space. Overall, the research allows the integration of the 3D information from any sensor\technology and the multispectral channels from any multispectral camera, to generate direct non-invasive measurements on the plant. In recent years, the shipbuilding industry has been incorporating different technological innovations that adapt innovative techniques such as image correlation for 3D reconstruction, reduced order modeling methods for digital twins, pixel amplification techniques to measure vibrations, among other methodologies. The advancement of these methodologies help to obtain visual resources that allow a better understanding of a given phenomenon, which complements the results found numerically, analytically or experimentally. The present study collects data from different configurations of ship propulsion plants, which are based on real operating conditions. The operating conditions are given for fishing vessels; the "navigation" condition is selected as being the most frequent and the "fishing operation" as being the most energetically critical. These conditions are attached to the choice of the ship's propeller. For the propeller, the diameter, the number of blades and the length of the drive shaft from the main engine position to the propeller are considered. Three engine power levels (low, medium and high) are selected, represented by 300, 850 and 1300 HP engines. The aforementioned operating conditions are used to calculate the efficiency of the propulsion plant, obtaining several combinations. Furthermore, these configurations are expressed by means of Sankey diagrams and illustrations of the plant configurations in 3D using WebGL and Threejs libraries. Complementarily, these data are observed in an online simulator called "ShipSim", using "html" coding.

En Colombia debido al desconocimiento de estatus o situación financiera en el país, existe un desaprovechamiento de oportunidades para contribuir con el desarrollo de la economía, por tal motivo esta investigación representa el mapa financiero de Colombia a través del uso de técnicas de georreferenciación, desde la perspectiva de los datos financieros disponibles en los diferentes portales públicos y que pueden ser georreferenciados en el territorio colombiano. Para la aplicación de esta investigación cualitativa se implementa una metodología de programación lineal avanzada, mediante cuatro fases estructuradas que permitieron cumplir con el objetivo de la investigación. Así mismo, se realiza una comparación entre las diferentes herramientas tecnológicas disponibles para la georreferenciación y se determinó el uso de PowerBi Desktop por sus características que permiten la transformación, control de datos y georreferenciación de manera robusta. Con el uso de PowerBi Desktop, se desarrolla una herramienta tecnológica que permite el ingreso de datos financieros en Colombia y se consolida el mapa de georreferenciación. Así mismo, con esta investigación se plantearon las bases para un análisis del diagnóstico financiero colombiano basado en el resultado de la información georreferenciada generada por la herramienta, permitiendo comparar el comportamiento y concentración de los diferentes criterios financieros en las regiones colombianas. La implementación de esta investigación aporta elementos claves para el seguimiento y toma de decisiones al permitir analizar y comparar comportamientos estadísticos de los diferentes criterios financieros y observar su distribución en las regiones colombianas. For the application of this qualitative research, an advanced linear programming methodology is implemented, through four structured phases that allowed to fulfill the objective of the research. Likewise, a comparison is made between the different technological tools available for georeferencing and the use of PowerBi Desktop was determined due to its characteristics that allow robust transformation, data control and georeferencing. With the use of PowerBi Desktop, a technological tool is developed that allows the entry of financial data in Colombia and the georeferencing map is consolidated. Likewise, with this research the bases were raised for an analysis of the Colombian financial diagnosis based on the result of the georeferenced information generated by the tool, allowing to compare the behavior and concentration of the different financial criteria in the Colombian regions. The implementation of this research provides key elements for monitoring and decision-making by allowing the analysis and comparison of statistical behaviors of the different financial criteria and observing their distribution in Colombian regions.

Esta investigación se desarrolla en la ciudad de Pereira en la facultad de ciencias administrativas, económicas y financieras de la Fundación Universitaria del Área Andina. Dirigida por el programa de mercadeo y publicidad, el enfoque que se utilizará es el cuantitativo debido a las cifras estadísticas utilizadas que servirán de referencia para la investigación. Centrándonos en la percepción que tienen los empresarios de los practicantes del programa de mercadeo y publicidad buscando las problemáticas y fortalezas del estudiante y describiendo cómo actuar sobre las problemáticas que puedan salir, además de promover las fortalezas de los practicantes. Esto debido a diferentes problemáticas nacientes como: los cargos de los estudiantes lo están ocupando otros practicantes de diferentes carreras como lo son administradores y diseñadores gráficos, y que está haciendo el programa por corregir estas falencias, fortaleciendo y mejorando las competencias de los estudiantes. Directed by the marketing and advertising program, the approach that will be used is the quantitative one due to the statistical figures used that will serve as reference for the investigation. Focusing on the perception that entrepreneurs have of the practitioners of the marketing and publicity program looking for the problems and strengths of the students and describing how to act on the problems that may arise, besides promoting the strengths of the practitioners. This is due to different nascent problems such as: the positions of the students are being occupied by other practitioners of different careers such as administrators and graphic designers, and that the program is doing to correct these shortcomings, strengthening and improving the skills of the students.

Este artículo se encuentra enfocado en presentar propuestas de mejora para el proceso de llamadas de calidad que actualmente implementa el Consorcio Vive Digital, con el fin de recolectar información que le permita medir el nivel de calidad en la prestación del servicio de los kioscos vive digital a nivel nacional en cumplimiento de sus obligaciones contractuales establecidas mediante el Contrato 881 de 2013 con el Ministerio de las Tecnologías de la Información y las Comunicaciones. Esta investigación, análisis y desarrollo de ejecutó durante el mes de julio a septiembre del 2016, como opción de grado para los estudiantes de Ingeniería Industrial de la Universidad ECCI de Colombia, como metodología se aplicaron herramientas basadas en la filosofía Lean Manufacturing, como kaizen, justo a tiempo, 5´s y círculos de calidad, se realizó el levantamiento de información al proceso actual implementado por el Consorcio, se identificaron las actividades asignadas al auxiliar administrativo como responsable de la gestión de llamadas de calidad, reconociendo las obligaciones contractuales sobre las cuales se busca dar cumplimiento durante el desarrollo de nuestras propuestas de mejora, como resultado, se identificaron las restricciones, capacidades, tiempos y flujos del proceso que evidenciaron la problemática de incumplimiento e insatisfacción por parte del cliente, estos factores permitieron al equipo de trabajo presentar 3 oportunidades de mejora con inversión económicas y 1 sin inversión, las cuales cuentan con una estandarización y automatización del proceso, reducción de tiempos muertos, control sobre la prestación del servicio, garantiza la veracidad de la información recolectada brindando calidad y satisfacción del cliente, adicionalmente involucra al trabajador optimizando sus tiempos, eliminado el reproceso de actividades y reduciendo su resistencia al cambio. Metabolic engineering of microorganisms such as Escherichia coli and Saccharomyces cerevisiae to produce high-value natural metabolites is often done through functional reconstitution of long metabolic pathways. Problems arise when parts of pathways require specialized environments or compartments for optimal function. Here we solve this problem through co-culture of engineered organisms, each of which contains the part of the pathway that it is best suited to hosting. In one example, we divided the synthetic pathway for the acetylated diol paclitaxel precursor into two modules, expressed in either S. cerevisiae or E. coli, neither of which can produce the paclitaxel precursor on their own. Stable co-culture in the same bioreactor was achieved by designing a mutualistic relationship between the two species in which a metabolic intermediate produced by E. coli was used and functionalized by yeast. This synthetic consortium produced 33 mg/L oxygenated taxanes, including a monoacetylated dioxygenated taxane. In this perspective, we highlight recent examples and trends in metabolic engineering and synthetic biology that demonstrate the synthetic potential of enzyme and pathway engineering for natural product discovery. In doing so, we introduce natural paradigms of secondary metabolism whereby simple carbon substrates are combined into complex molecules through “scaffold diversification”, and subsequent “derivatization” of these scaffolds is used to synthesize distinct complex natural products. We provide examples in which modern pathway engineering efforts including combinatorial biosynthesis and biological retrosynthesis can be coupled to directed enzyme evolution and rational enzyme engineering to allow access to the “privileged” chemical space of natural products in industry-proven microbes. Finally, we forecast the potential to produce natural product-like discovery platforms in biological systems that are amenable to single-step discovery, validation, and synthesis for streamlined discovery and production of biologically active agents.
