A commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in medical education requires addressing both explicit and implicit biases based on sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, and sex characteristics and the intersectionality with other identities. Heterosexism and heteronormative attitudes contribute to health and healthcare disparities for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer or questioning, intersex, asexual individuals. Student, trainee, and faculty competencies in medical education curricula regarding the care of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer or questioning, intersex, asexual patients and those who are gender nonconforming or born with differences of sex development allow for better understanding and belonging within the clinical learning environment of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer/questioning, intersex, asexual learners and educators. The Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics issued a call to action to achieve a future free from racism and bias through inclusivity in obstetrics and gynecology education and healthcare, which led to the creation of the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Guidelines Task Force. The task force initially addressed racism, racial- and ethnicity-based bias, and discrimination in medical education and additionally identified other groups that are subject to bias and discrimination, including sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, and sex characteristic identities, persons with disabilities, and individuals with various religious and spiritual practices. In this scholarly perspective, the authors expand on previously developed guidelines to address sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, and sex characteristics bias, heterosexism, and heteronormative attitudes in obstetrics and gynecology educational products, materials, and clinical learning environments to improve access and equitable care to vulnerable individuals of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer or questioning, intersex, asexual community. With their increasing popularity, there is a need for more research clarifying the potential strengths and weaknesses of the comic format for education. The panelled comic format may be particularly effective for educating adults on the scientific aspects of processes (sequences of events, occurring over time, in a series of discrete steps). We tested change in performance in adults (n = 879) in correctly ordering the stages in four processes before and after being exposed to educational material about these processes. The material was presented in a random selection of one of seven experimentally manipulated formats based on characteristics of comic books. Overall, participant performance improved after seeing the educational material. There were significant differences in learning between the processes, suggesting that the benefits, or detriments, of the comic format may be subject-specific. Performance was significantly better when images were subdivided into panels, and worse when an explanatory agent (character) was included, though these differences in performance did not survive adjustment for multiple comparisons. This study presents some evidence that the panelled nature of the comic format supports learning about scientific processes in adults. Increasing vaccination knowledge is effective in addressing hesitancy and is particularly important in populations deprived of liberty who may not routinely have access to health information, ensuring health equity. RISE-Vac is a European Union–funded project aiming to promote vaccine literacy, offer, and uptake in prisons in Europe. We consulted persons living in prisons in the United Kingdom (through the Prisoner Policy Network), France, and Moldova to determine their vaccination knowledge gaps, the information they would like to receive, and how they would like to receive it. We received 344 responses: 224 from the United Kingdom, 70 from France, and 50 from Moldova. Participants were particularly interested in learning about the effectiveness, side effects, and manufacturing of vaccines. Their responses guided the development of educational materials, including a brochure that will be piloted in prisons in Europe. Persons with experience of imprisonment were involved at every stage of this project.

Utilization of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines is crucial in modern manufacturing. Nevertheless, enhancing the skills of CNC machine operators remains a challenge in education and training. In response, the solution involves designing learning materials that simulate the machining process, particularly in innovative CNC learning integrated with Augmented Reality (AR) technology. The research utilizes the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) model, encompassing steps like concept development, design, material collection, assembly, testing, and distribution. AR devices deliver additional visual information to CNC lathe students. The research results in learning materials using augmented reality to present 3D visualizations through markers, creating object representations to train 2-axis CNC lathes. These materials, designed as 3D virtual objects, offer real-time practicum experiences to learners. Black box testing confirms the effective implementation of augmented reality in CNC lathe training, providing cost savings in practicum materials and cutting tools during repeated testing on a 2-axis CNC lathe. Reflecting on and becoming aware of our food consumption practices is a necessity, given the environmental problems we face as humanity. The literature reports that the processes involved in beef production have a negative impact on the environment. Therefore, talking about this in school is relevant to contribute to the development of sustainable consumption practices. However, specific materials to address this issue are scarce. This led us to produce an educational material, which we subjected to an evaluation process using the Delphi method to identify areas of opportunity to improve its design. We conducted 3 rounds of evaluation in which a panel of 5 experts participated, their opinions were categorized into eight dimensions using content analysis. In round 3 we achieved stability of opinions, and throughout the process we identified 34 areas of opportunity, mainly related to the dimension Design of activities. Worldwide, chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a public health problem due to its high morbidity and mortality rates. For CKD patients, mobile health applications have functioned as a strategy that promotes patient care through valid and reliable educational materials. This is a prospective and descriptive three-stage study using content experts. Results created three visual and three audiovisual materials with acceptable evaluations. There has been a growing policy interest in establishing connections between heritage and education. Nevertheless, there seems to be very little evaluation or critical reflection on what actually happens in practice, and it remains unclear how heritage education is employed in countries throughout Europe. The aim of this paper is to assess the current status of heritage education in Flanders (the Dutch-speaking northern part of Belgium) via a literature review and an exploratory case study. The perceptions and opinions of pre-service teachers (n = 17) were investigated using three instruments: a questionnaire, document analysis, and the think aloud method. The results show that the pre-service teachers had a traditional interpretation of heritage, mainly relying on well-known and monumental examples and following a rather historical–artistic conception. However, it was found that their opinions were positive towards the use of heritage as an educational resource, and their evaluations of educational materials from the heritage and museum sector provided detailed information concerning teachers’ desires and needs in this regard. The implications of this study should encourage initial teacher training in Flanders to further consider the epistemological and methodological challenges in the emerging field of heritage education.

• A multi-phase process was undertaken to develop Cardiac College for Women. • This is a co-designed education curriculum for CVD secondary prevention in women. • It can be delivered based on women's preferences for modalities and content. • It is hoped these resources will support women to reduce their risk of CV sequelae. Despite their differential risk factor burden, context and often different forms of heart disease, cardiac rehabilitation (CR) programs generally do not provide women with needed secondary prevention information specific to them. to co-design evidence-informed, theory-based comprehensive women-focused education, building from Health e-University's Cardiac College for CR. A multi-disciplinary, multi-stakeholder steering committee (N = 18) oversaw the four-phase development of the women-focused curriculum. Phase 1 involved a literature review on women's CR information needs and preferences, phase 2 a CR program needs assessment, phase 3 content development (including determining content and mode, assigning experts to create the content, plain language review and translation), and phase 4 will comprise evaluation and implementation. In phase 2, a focus group was conducted with Canadian CR providers; it was analyzed using Braun and Clarke's iterative approach. Nineteen providers participated in the focus group, with four themes emerging: current status of education, challenges to delivering women-focused education, delivery modes and topical resources. Results were consistent with those from our related global survey, supporting saturation of themes. Co-designed educational materials included 19 videos. These were organized across 5 webpages in English and French, specific to tests and treatments, exercise, diet, psychosocial well-being, and self-management. Twelve corresponding session slide decks with notes for clinicians were created, to support program delivery in CR flexibly. While further evaluation is underway, these open-access CR education resources will be disseminated for implementation, to support women in reducing their risk of cardiovascular sequelae. Caregiver health literacy is affected by both personal knowledge and education provided by clinicians. Literature on implementation of educational materials into pediatric surgical clinical practice is scarce. We developed plain-language picture-based educational material and implemented it in a pediatric surgery clinic. We assessed both caregiver and clinician satisfaction before and after implementation. Picture-based educational material was developed for epigastric/umbilical/inguinal hernias/hydroceles, gastrostomy/gastrojejunostomy tube creation, and soft tissue masses and implemented in an academic pediatric surgery clinic. Pediatric surgeons (n = 12), clinic nurses (n = 4), and physician extenders (n = 2) were surveyed before and after a 4-week pilot implementation period. In parallel, parents of children (0-18 y) completed a 19-item postpre electronic survey capturing demographics, self-professed level of prior knowledge, and opinions regarding the material. Descriptive statistics were performed. Clinician response rate was 88% (pre) and 72% (post). Preimplementation, clinicians overwhelmingly reported repetitive parental counseling, need to redraw diagrams, and anticipation of improvement in workflow with standardized materials. Postimplementation, most clinicians felt the material was easy to use (76%), beneficial (77%), and perceived satisfaction in parents they were counseling (77%). Caregiver response rate was 100%. The majority reported their understanding improved after reviewing the material, found the material easy to understand and helpful, were more comfortable managing their child's condition, and recommended continued use of the material during visits. Results indicate clinician satisfaction and willingness to use standardized educational material during outpatient visits, as well as caregiver satisfaction and self-reported improved understanding. The goal of this quality improvement project (QIP) was to increase awareness of the serious medical consequences of clozapine-associated constipation to front line nursing staff and patients with schizophrenia. The QIP was developed iteratively by psychiatric nurses, psychiatrists and pharmacists with input from patients. The processes involved a literature review, development of educational materials for staff and patients, and the creation of a daily bowel movements log (BML). Implementation involved review of the BML at treatment team meetings, and deployment of pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions to resolve constipation and increase awareness and knowledge of this clinical concern. The initial pilot screened for symptoms of constipation in patients receiving clozapine and non-clozapine antipsychotic agents and intervening as necessary during multidisciplinary team meetings. Patients benefited from relief of constipation and improved bowel habits. Staff benefited from improved knowledge and making requisite changes in workflow and practice. Feedback allowed refinements to be made to the educational materials for patients and staff. Since full implementation, bowel habits are routinely monitored, and interventions are reviewed for effectiveness. Staff satisfaction with this QIP is reflected in answers to a structured questionnaire and in patient reports (n = 50). Clozapine, the only approved and efficacious medication for treatment-resistant schizophrenia is significantly underutilized. Medically consequential constipation can be a serious barrier to retention of patients benefiting from clozapine. Increased awareness and use of educational materials for patients and staff, routine monitoring of bowel habits combined with pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions can successfully address this clinical problem. • Clozapine is the only medication approved for treatment-resistant schizophrenia but moderate to severe constipation with serious complicationss may limit its use. • Educational tools addressing the problem were created for patients and staff. • Creation of a bowel movement log allowed monitoring symptoms and interventions. • Assertive laxative use with hydration, exercise and diet were the interventions. • This patient safety driven quality improvement project achieved its stated goals. Feedback from the teaching community confirms that the use of interactive games with WordWall helps to improve the level of student engagement and their understanding of the educational material. In the modern conditions of the development of society and restrictions caused by the epidemic and other complex factors, the issue of choosing and using modern cloud technologies in the educational field requires more and more attention. There is a large number of technologies and services that make it possible to significantly increase the effectiveness of the educational process. The statement of basic materials At the current stage of the development of society, significant changes are taking place in the means and technologies of the dissemination and use of information, which has led to significant changes in the application of educational technologies, which contributes to the rather active implementation of distance and mixed forms of learning, as one of the directions of reforming the education system. The involvement of more modern services and their use make it possible to optimize the educational process, make it more efficient, and provide comfortable conditions for the participants of the educational process. Among the large number of cloud services, it is worth paying attention to the WordWall cloud service. The WordWall cloud service is a multifunctional toolkit for creating didactic educational materials and their further use during classes in various educational disciplines. This service makes it possible to create interactive exercises, as well as their printed versions (pdf format), which greatly simplifies the work of scientific and pedagogical workers in the absence of access to the global network. Conclusions. The use of the WordWall cloud service is a good and wellconsidered decision, because it will significantly increase the attractiveness of mastering the academic discipline and its materials from the point of view of aesthetics, a fairly significant amount of didactic materials that can be reused with other students. Background and Aim: Online learning resources have become increasingly used in medical education as they have experienced rapid development in recent years. With the increase of digital platforms, medical students now have access to an extensive array of educational materials, so it becomes necessary to understand how medical students navigate, select, and use these digital tools, to be able to develop new online learning methods or to improve the existing ones. This study will aim to determine the preferences and criteria used by medical students in selecting and using online learning resources, as well as the impact of these e-learning resources on their academic performance. Material and Methods: The study will be cross-sectional, where eligible participants will be medical students from the Romanian study section, ranging from the first to the sixth year of study, enrolled in one of any medical universities in Romania. Students who are studying medicine in English or French language, or those who are studying another specialty, will not be included. We will invite participants to take part in the study by distributing an anonymous online questionnaire through social media platforms. The questions will address what types of online learning resources students access, their selection criteria, as well as their perceptions of the usefulness and reliability of different types of resources. Discussion: The findings will provide a deeper understanding of how medical students select and use online learning resources. The results could be used to enhance medical education programs or to develop online learning resources according to the needs and preferences of the students.

We conducted formative research to inform the creation of innovative new tools and strategies to engage professionals in communicating with youth with intellectual disabilities about sexual health. The research was guided by a multidisciplinary network of experts and an advisory board of self-advocates with intellectual disabilities and caregivers that make up Project SHINE: the Sexual Health Innovation Network for Equitable Education. A cross-sectional mixed-methods study utilized survey data from 632 disability support professionals who provide services to youth ages 16–24 with intellectual disabilities (ID). We then conducted focus groups with 36 professionals to obtain more in-depth information related to organizational support needs and suitable contexts, methods, and tools for sexuality education. Participants included licensed/credentialed direct service professionals (social workers, nurses, teachers), non-licensed direct service providers (case managers, supportive care specialists, residential care line staff), and program administrators. Quantitative and qualitative data analyses triangulated the findings across four content areas: attitudes about providing sexual health information to youth with ID, preparedness to communicate about sexuality, current communication practices, and professional needs in the field for new teaching tools and methods. We discuss how findings can be used to guide the creation and successful implementation of innovative new sexual health learning tools for youth with intellectual disabilities. Abstract The issue of climate change is addressed within Mexico’s Common National Curriculum, which serves as the foundation for developing educational materials like didactic guides and videos aimed at higher middle schools located in regions highly susceptible to its effects. However, while the curriculum incorporates climate change, it lacks specific details outlining the objectives and extent of this integration. Nonetheless, this gap doesn’t deter educators from recognizing climate change’s significance across various subjects and effectively employing the provided educational resources for lesson planning, teaching, and assessment. In this study, the authors performed a comprehensive analysis of the Common National Curriculum, subject syllabuses, and didactic guides within the Telebachillerato subsystem of Veracruz state (TEBAEV). They also administered an online survey to 3,698 teachers. Employing a mixed-method approach with an exploratory sequential design encompassing three phases, they analyzed and triangulated data based on the integration of Education for Change and Educate on Climate as approaches within climate change education. The central findings underscore that nearly 95% of teachers not only identify climate change themes in their teaching materials but also integrate elements of climate change education into their instructional practices. AIM: The aim of this study was to test the psychometric properties of the Turkish version of the Patient Education Materials Assessment Tool. METHODS: The study was carried out with intern nurses receiving education at a Nursing Faculty in Turkey between July 2019 and June 2020. 248 intern nurses participated in PEMAT-P and 223 in PEMAT-A/V in this study. Five audio-visual and five printed materials were used. The Patient Education Materials Assessment Tool and the Patient Education Materials Assessment Tool User's Guide were translated into Turkish and culturally adapted using standard guidelines. Content and construct validity analyses were performed for the validity of the Turkish version of the Patient Education Materials Assessment Tool, and internal consistency, invariability, and external consistency analyses were performed for its reliability. RESULTS: The content validity index was 1.00 for all the scale items. At the conclusion of the factor analyses, the scale has composed a twodimension construct of understandability and actionability. The Cronbach's alpha coefficients were observed to be 0.901 of the Turkish version of the Patient Education Materials Assessment Tool for Printable Materials and 0.897 of the Turkish version of the Patient Education Materials Assessment Tool for Audiovisual Materials. The Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient (rxy) was high (Turkish version of the Patient Education Materials Assessment Tool for Printable Materials rxy = 0.815, Turkish version of the Patient Education Materials Assessment Tool for Audiovisual Materials rxy = 0.804). Cohen's kappa coefficients were obtained as 0.736 of the Turkish version of the Patient Education Materials Assessment Tool for Printable Materials and 0.781 of the Turkish version of the Patient Education Materials Assessment Tool for Audiovisual Materials. CONCLUSION: The Turkish version of the Patient Education Materials Assessment Tool is a valid and reliable measurement tool in the evaluation of both printed and audiovisual patient education materials. Ocean acidification, the lowering of seawater pH due to increased concentrations of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, is an emerging environmental challenge associated with climate change. This publication is intended for Florida grade eight educators and other environmental educators of middle school students. We designed a lesson plan to reinforce fundamental concepts in acid-base chemistry, including the pH scale, and to introduce students to waterbody acidification, its negative effects on shell-forming organisms, and the potential role of aquatic plant metabolism (i.e., photosynthesis and respiration) in mitigating these effects. The goal of the lesson plan is to encourage students to link water chemistry and biological processes while learning about the challenges and potential solutions to acidification within a local context. This lesson plan will contribute to state learning standards while generating appreciation for the complexity of the natural environment.

Currently, state-of-the-art technologies contribute to the development of the educational process, which entails the search for new approaches to providing information. The purpose of the study is to identify the effectiveness of using modern technologies to enhance the learning performance in higher education institutions. Attaining the said goal became possible due to calculating the variation coefficient of, the obtained level of knowledge, the Student coefficient as well as the direct standardization method. It was found that the greatest advantage of using modern technologies is the possibility of combining distance and inclass learning. However, the disadvantage is the difficulty of identifying the relevant technologies according to the training program. The elaborated mechanisms for ensuring the learning process were implemented with the help of Blackboard, CourseCraft, Trello, EdApp, Scheduler Maker software. It was established that among students who studied pedagogy and primary school methods (group 1), a high level of knowledge was attained with 71%. Students of group 2, who studied English, achieved a high level with 65% of students. The practical implications of the study lie in the improvement of the learning process at higher education institutions drawing on the use of modern technologies. Prospects for research may be related to comparing the effectiveness of programs used to provide learning with a traditional learning approach. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article analyzes the available theoretical and practical experience in the field of pedagogical design, in particular, the main aspects of the development of high-quality design of educational materials for various target children's audiences. Methods & methodology. The article uses theoretical methods: comparison, systematization and generalization of scientific sources. The practical principles of creating educational materials and environment, based on the psychological and physiological characteristics of perception by children of different age categories, are highlighted. Among them, the use of a visual series of educational materials in electronic pedagogical presentations is special. The scientific novelty of the article lies in the coverage and practical implementation of modern design technologies for the creation of educational and pedagogical materials for effective perception by children of different age categories due to the influence of the quality of multimedia educational materials on the assimilation of knowledge. Results. The importance of logical and consistent presentation of new information, as well as the need to optimize and update educational materials, is considered. The importance of typography in educational design is emphasized, as a good choice of font can improve the readability of the text, highlight important information and promote interest in learning, and color gamut, use of photos and video materials. The differences in design for different age categories are characterized, considering the level of knowledge and motivation of the target audience. The importance of the choice of colors in educational design is highlighted, considering their influence on the mood and behavior of users, and techniques for the successful selection of a color range are given. Ways of using color, typography and multimedia materials to improve students' perception and assimilation of n ew information have been identified. In further work, it is planned to analyze and specify various material and technical means for designing educational materials and to develop a series of educational school posters with the help of modern graphic editors. he research seeks to discover the renewal brought by Ibn Badis to education in Algeria through the study of his personality, academic background, significant scientific achievements both within and outside Algeria, curriculum for education, and teaching methods that he discovered beneficial and efficient for learners. Furthermore, the research intends to shed light on how Ibn Badis overcame the obstacles and challenges caused by French colonization, which denied Algerian citizens access to all types of learning, especially Arabic and Islamic education. The study takes a historical approach by examining a sizable collection of texts and pictures that represent Ibn Badis’s vision for science and education. The research leads to the conclusion that Ibn Badis’s strong scientific foundation which he achieved under the guidance of specialized academics from numerous fields and countries, had a huge impact on improving his abilities and views of the world and increasing his sense of need to refresh and enhance the educational system of his country. Additionally, he set himself apart from his contemporaries and forebears by getting around France’s restrictions through the advantage of legal loopholes to prevent the use of violence, particularly during the planning and construction phases. This paper addresses the challenges associated with the centralized storage of educational materials in the context of a fragmented and disparate database. In response to the increasing demands of modern education, efficient and accessible retrieval of materials for educators and students is essential. This paper presents a hybrid model based on the transformer framework and utilizing an API for an existing large language model (LLM)/chatbot. This integration ensures precise responses drawn from a comprehensive educational materials database. The model architecture uses mathematically defined algorithms for precise functions that enable deep text processing through advanced word embedding methods. This approach improves accuracy in natural language processing and ensures both high efficiency and adaptability. Therefore, this paper not only provides a technical solution to a prevalent problem but also highlights the potential for the continued development and integration of emerging technologies in education. The aim is to create a more efficient, transparent, and accessible educational environment. The importance of this research lies in its ability to streamline material access, benefiting the global scientific community and contributing to the continuous advancement of educational technology.

In the globalization era, in the 20th century, the development of Information and Communication Technology is very rapid. Even in the educational process, the teacher must be intelligent and able to choose the type of educational material he uses in the teaching and learning process. Educational materials play an essential role in the educational process and have an individual contribution to education, which impacts students. The problem in Wahid Hashim Balung Jember Islamic high school was the lack of unique education materials for reading skills. This study aims: 1) to determine the steps of developing reading materials for teaching Arabic through Android and 2) to determine the effectiveness of teaching reading materials for teaching Arabic through Android. This study uses the model approach proposed by Borg and Gall, and researchers use pre-test and post-test to develop reading materials. The results of this study showed that reading materials using Android developed by researchers effectively improve students ' reading skills. في عصر العولمة، قرن 20 أن التطورات في مجال تكنولوجيا المعلومات والإتصالات هي سريعة جدا. حتي في عملية التعليم، ينبغي للمعلم أن يكون ذاكيا وقادرا على اختيار نوع المادة التعليمية التي يستخدمها في عملية التعليم والتعلم. إن المادة التعليمية تؤدي دورا هاما في عملية التعليم ولها إسهامات الفردية في التعليم، وهذا له تأثير على التلاميذ. ومشكلات ما وقعت في المدرسة الثانوية الإسلامية واحد هاشم بالونج جمبر عدم وجود مواد التعليمية خاصة في مهارة القراءة. إن الأهداف من هذا البحث هي: 1) ولمعرفة الخطوات تطوير مادة القراءة لتعليم اللغة العربية عبر أندرويد 2) لمعرفة فعالية تعليم مادة القراءة لتعليم اللغة العربية عبر أندرويد. استخدمت الباحثة منهج البحث والتطوير بالنموذج الذي اقترحه برج وغال، واستخدمت الباحثة الإختبار القبلي والإختبار بعدي في تطوير المادة القراءة. ونتيجة هذه الرسالة هي أن المادة القراءة عبر أندرويد المطورة من الباحثة لها فعالة لترقية مهارة القراءة التلاميذ.

The present study aims to identify, through a state-of-the-art research in Technical-Technological Products (TTPs) developed between 2012 and 2022, which practices and experiences are related to the inclusion of sustainability topics in the teaching of statistics, and to verify which methodologies, approaches and didactical resources have been revealed in terms of promoting the education for sustainability. The search was carried out in the repositories of the Brazilian Graduate Programs and in the Educapes portal and twelve (12) Technical-Technological Products were analyzed. The data reveal that TTPs emphasize technological resources, interdisciplinarity and socio-environmental themes to improve student performance and develop a critical sense in relation to sustainability. PurposePatient-reported outcome (PRO) data from clinical trials can promote valuable patient-clinician communication and aid the decision-making process regarding treatment options. Despite these benefits, both patients and doctors face challenges in interpreting PRO scores. The purpose of this study was to identify best practices for presenting PRO results expressed as proportions of patients with changes from baseline (improved/stable/worsened) for use in patient educational materials and decision aids.MethodsWe electronically surveyed adult cancer patients/survivors, oncology clinicians, and PRO researchers, and conducted one-on-one cognitive interviews with patients/survivors and clinicians. Participants saw clinical trial data comparing two treatments as proportions changed using three different formats: pie charts, bar graphs, icon arrays. Interpretation accuracy, clarity, and format preference were analyzed quantitatively and online survey comments and interviews, qualitatively.ResultsThe internet sample included 629 patients, 139 clinicians, and 249 researchers; 10 patients and 5 clinicians completed interviews. Faced with the increase of human activities that permanently alter nature, it is more and more necessary to educate people about the importance of protecting nature, including both the biotic and abiotic aspects. In this context, UNESCO Global Geoparks (UGGp) are reference territories to educate people about geodiversity and geoconservation in different environments. On the other hand, protected areas have great potential to develop and adapt the educational materials created by Geoparks due to the pedagogical value of these materials and the lack of activities focusing on these aspects. In this sense, this work aimed to identify the educational materials displayed on the UGGps websites and published papers and discuss the potential for adaptation and use of these materials in protected areas. For this purpose, we focused on searching educational materials in the official UGGps websites, Scopus database and Google Scholar. We consider that not all materials can be found, but we tried to identify as many as we could. The analysis of the educational materials revealed that most of them are lesson plans, playful and craft activities for children and field guides for teachers and students. Therefore, such materials have excellent potential to be applied to the educational context of protected areas.

Abstract Background This study describes the content validation process of the already developed English and Yoruba (poster and leaflet) and Yoruba (song) maternal depression educational materials in Nigeria. Methods This study is a cross sectional study which is a part of a larger study on training and supervision of Primary health care workers. Study utilized health professionals’ judgement for content validation, and maternal-child health clients’ evaluation for face validation with the use of Suitability Assessment of Materials (SAM). Six bilingual professionals validated both English and Yoruba version of materials (Song has only Yoruba version) and 50 clients evaluated each Yoruba material. Validity Index was calculated by formula and inter-rater agreement using intra-class coefficient (ICC) was analyzed on Professionals’ ratings. ICC, ‵t′ test and Pearson correlation were analyzed on professionals’ rating versus randomly selected six clients’ rating. Descriptive statistics, and fisher exact test were used for other statistical analysis with SPSS version 25. Results The mean age of the professionals for poster was 44.3 ± 6.0 years, for leaflet 39.8 ± 7.2 years, for song 43.8 ± 8.4 years. For maternal child health clients, mean age is: 30.7 ± 5.4 years for poster; 31.3 ± 5.2 for leaflet and 29.0 ± 5.1 for song. Outcomes of bilingual professionals’ validation are validity index: English {leaflet (0.94), poster (0.94)}, and Yoruba {leaflet (0.94) poster (0.94) and song (1.00)}. More than 80% clients rated the suitability of each material as superior. There is no significant relationship between clients’ sociodemographic characteristics and their ratings across content, literacy demand and cultural appropriateness domains of the three materials on fisher exact test. The inter-rater agreement among the professionals is excellent on leaflet and song ICC > 0.8, but it is weak on the poster ICC

(1) Background: Pakistani women are among one of Catalonia's most affected groups by obesity and cardiovascular disease. The design of health education strategies for them has become a compelling need. This paper aims to enlighten the elaboration and evaluation procedure of culturally and linguistically tailored nutrition education materials for Pakistani women participating in the PakCat Program, which aims to evaluate the efficacy of a nutrition education strategy allowing the participants to become ambassadors of healthy eating habits for their community. (2) Methods: In this Randomised Control Trial (RCT), 137 Pakistani women (70 from the intervention and 67 from the control group) took part. We conducted 10 sessions for the intervention group and 3 sessions for the control group in the form of small groups. The sessions were conducted in Urdu and Punjabi, and the material was translated into Urdu, Catalan, Spanish and English. For some sessions, we elaborated on new materials and for others, we adapted them from the existing nutrition material in aspects of language and culture. We evaluated the nutritional material from the observation carried out by the dietician who developed the sessions, participants' feedback at the end of the sessions and a satisfaction questionnaire. (3) Results: We summarised the elaborated material in form of two multilingual nutritional guidelines about portion size and heart-healthy foods. We also registered several materials generated for the PakCat program such as an infographic about myths and beliefs related to food, a booklet to read and interpret the food labels, a recipe book for healthy snacks, and an infographic of 10 tips for healthy eating. We also organised a PhotoVoice exhibition of 70 healthy plates elaborated by the intervention group participants. The participants highly appreciated the material in terms of visualization, cultural and linguistic adequacy, and level of comprehension through all three evaluation methods. (4) Conclusions: The design of culturally and linguistically tailored nutrition education material for Pakistani women living in Catalonia is attainable and effective to meet their specific needs. The healthy dietary recommendation can be adapted to them preserving their traditional dietary pattern, and they acquire the confidence to start following a healthy diet. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

BACKGROUND: Low back pain (LBP) is a prevalent disorder and leading cause of disability worldwide. In Saudi Arabia, patients with LBP are dispensed with educational materials to supposedly facilitate their recuperation. OBJECTIVE: Appraise the suitability of educational materials provided for people with LBP in Saudi Arabia to determine whether they meet the needs of patients, inform self-management, and are consistent with clinical practice guidelines. METHODS: A qualitative data collection method was used, and content analyses were conducted to analyse data based on manifest content. Educational items in English and Arabic were collected from relevant health providers in Saudi Arabia. RESULTS: Seventeen educational materials were sourced from: Ministry of Health hospitals (n = 10), military hospitals (n = 4), private hospitals (n = 2), and a multidisciplinary healthcare association (n = 1). Six identified sub-themes comprise: epidemiological/anatomical data about LBP (n = 6); causes/risk factors (n = 10); exercise (n = 14) and physical activity-related (n = 3) recommendations; treatment-related recommendations (n = 2); general health and lifestyle-related recommendations (n = 8); and postural and ergonomics-related recommendations (n = 13). A common theme emerged, that 'the content of educational materials hindered reassurance and self-management for people with LBP.' CONCLUSION: The reviewed educational materials fail to adequately report information that assure patients or inform their self-management among the Saudi population with LBP. This study aims to provide an overview of the existing Nyadran tradition literature as material for social studies development in junior high schools. In addition, it is also intended to create a conceptual model related to the use of the Nyadran tradition. This article is a conceptual article that covers the basics, basic competencies, and curriculum. This research is qualitative research with case study methods. The data collection technique is derived from interviews with the main data source of the Klumutan village community, while the other data is from the documentation of the profile of the Klumutan town and the photographs of the implementation of traditional Clumutan. Sampling techniques using purposive sampling. Data validity testing using source triangulation and methods Analysis techniques using interactive data analysis models: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawings. The results of this research consist of three conclusions. First, the Nyadran tradition can be used as a source of social studies development in junior high schools. This is because this tradition contains moral teachings and local wisdom relevant to the vision of social science, namely civics education. Moreover, the oral tradition, which is part of anthropology and history, has the same characteristics as social studies material, which combines social science disciplines. The two high social values of the Nyadran tradition can be used as a source of social science learning. These values mean moral, social, cultural, spiritual, and environmental. Third, the development of oral traditions as teaching materials can be carried out through three stages, namely: (a) the analysis stage (defining the oral traditions and their relevance to the curriculum); (b) the design and development stage (determining the form and structure of the learning materials needed); and (c) implementation stage.

Introduction: Online patient educational materials (OPEMs) help patients engage in their health care. The American Medical Association (AMA) recommends OPEM be written at or below the 6th grade reading level. This study assessed the readability of deep venous thrombosis OPEM in English and Spanish., Methods: Google searches were conducted in English and Spanish using "deep venous thrombosis" and "trombosis venosa profunda," respectively. The top 25 patient-facing results were recorded for each, and categorized into source type (hospital, professional society, other). Readability of English OPEM was measured using several scales including the Flesch Reading Ease Readability Formula and Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level. Readability of Spanish OPEM was measured using the Fernández-Huerta Index and INFLESZ Scale. Readability was compared to the AMA recommendation, between languages, and across source types., Results: Only one (4%) Spanish OPEM was written at an easy level, compared to 7 (28%) English OPEM (P = 0.04). More English (28%) OPEM were easy to read compared to Spanish (4%), with a significant difference in reading difficulty breakdown between languages (P = 0.04). The average readability scores for English and Spanish OPEM across all scales were significantly greater than the recommended level (P < 0.01). Only four total articles (8%) met the AMA recommendation, with no significant difference between English and Spanish OPEM (P = 0.61)., Conclusions: Nearly all English and Spanish deep venous thrombosis OPEM analyzed were above the recommended reading level. English resources had overall easier readability compared to Spanish, which may represent a barrier to care. Worldwide, chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a public health problem due to its high morbidity and mortality rates. For CKD patients, mobile health applications have functioned as a strategy that promotes patient care through valid and reliable educational materials. This is a prospective and descriptive three-stage study using content experts. Results created three visual and three audiovisual materials with acceptable evaluations. The design and validation of educational materials are a valid and reliable method for patient health education through mobile health applications.

Background: Providing educational materials to deferred donors has been shown to increase their understanding about their deferral and knowledge about their return. The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of educational materials in increasing the retention of deferred donors. Study Design and Methods: A three‐arm cluster randomized controlled trial was conducted, with the following conditions: (a) Incenter Brochure plus Email; (b) Email Only; (c) Control. The Incenter Brochure plus Email condition also included a guided conversation led by staff at the point of deferral. Donors were followed up for 3 months after their deferral had ended to determine if they had attempted to donate. Results: Compared with the Control condition, donors in the Incenter Brochure plus Email condition had increased odds of return at 3 months after their deferral ended (OR: 1.16; 95% CI 1.00–1.33). Subgroup analysis highlighted that novice (OR: 1.38; 95% CI 1.04–1.83) and established donors (OR: 1.36; 95% CI 1.13–1.64) had increased odds of return if they received the incenter materials. Donors who were deferred to maintain their well‐being (OR: 1.28; 95% CI 1.03–1.60) and donors with a prior deferral history (OR: 1.55; 95% CI 1.15–1.55) had increased odds of return if they received the incenter materials. No significant differences were found between the Email Only and Control conditions. Discussion: This trial demonstrates the benefits of providing onsite educational materials to donors at the point of deferral.
