The article focuses on the debate regarding the comparative advantages and benefits of smooth-bore and combination nozzles in the U.S. fire service industry. It mentions that despite fire departments favoring smooth-bore nozzles, scientific analysis shows that combination nozzles offer better benefits such as equal stream quality. It adds that combination nozzles also have greater reach at equal water pressure and flows, compared to smooth-bore types.
