Mikrodalga elekronigi alanındaki gelismeler, genisbantta çalısabilen düsükgürültülü yükselteç, örnekleyici, darbe üreteci gibi mikrodalga elemanlarınınyapılabilmesinin yolunu açtı. Bir yandan bu temel yapıtasları gelistirilirken digeryandan yeni uygulama alanları arastırma konusu haline geldi. Ultra Genisbantlı Radarbu konulardan bir tanesidir. Duvar arkası görüntüleme, medikal görüntüleme vegömülü yeraltı mayınlarının tespiti, Ultra Genisbantlı Radarların temel uygulamaalanları arasındadır.Bu çalısmada hareket halinde olan çoklu hedeflerin yerini saptamayı hedefledik.Bir ortamda bir çok saçıcı olsa da, hareketli olan hedeflerin tespiti, ard arda gelen radarenstantenelerinin farkını kullanarak mümkün hale geliyor. Genel olarak duvararkasındaki insan hedeflerinin tespitindeki durum da budur. Çesitli Çoklu SinyalSınıflandırması (Multiple Signal Classification - MUSIC) algoritmalarınınverimliligini, kendi Ultra Genisbantlı Radar ilkörnegimizle elde ettigimiz verilerüzerinde tetkik ettik.Ideal, gürlütüsüz ortamlar için gerçeklestirilen bilgisayar simulasyonlarında,Zaman Tersinimli MUSIC (Time Reversal MUSIC - TRM) algoritması, hedeflerin hemdogrultuları hem de mesafeleri konusunda basarılı sonuçlar saglıyor. Ancak, idealolmayan etkilerin de mevcut oldugu gerçek uygulamalarda, TRM algoritmasınınhedeflerin mesafelerini bulmadaki verimliligi düsüyor. Öte yandan evre gürültüsünedaha az duyarlı olan MUSIC ile Gecikme Kestirimi (Delay Estimation MUSIC - DEM)algoritması hedeflerin mesafeleri konusunda daha iyi tahminler veriyor. TRMalgoritmasının hedeflerin yönü için çıkısıyla DEM algoritmasının hedeflerin mesafeleriiçin çıkısını birlestirmek, hedeflerin yerinin basarılı bir sekilde bulunmasına olanakverdi. Öne sürülen sinyal isleme tertibinin tesirini sınamak için iki hareketli hedefkullanılarak deneneyler yapıldı. Sahte hedeflerin ortaya çıkması sorunu da ele alındı vegerçek hedefleri çözümlemek için birkaç yöntem ileri sürüldü. The improvements in microwave electronics opened the way to build microwavecomponents such as low noise amplifiers, samplers and pulse generators that arebroadband. As these building blocks are being developed, new applications becomesubject of research. Ultra wideband radar is one of these subjects. Major applicationsof ultra wideband radars are behind the wall imaging, biomedical imaging and buriedland mine detection.In this study we aimed to locate multiple scatterers that are moving. Eventhough there are many scatterers in an environment, detection of moving targets ispossible using differences of successive radar snapshots. This is generally the casewhen behind the wall human targets are to be detected. We investigated theeffectiveness of various types Multiple Signal Classification (MUSIC) algorithms onthe data acquired by our ultra wideband radar prototype.In ideal computer simulations, Time Reversal MUSIC (TRM) algorithmprovides successful estimations of both directions and distances of multiple targets.However in practice where non-ideal effects are existent, the performance of TRMalgorithm is estimating the target distances degrades. On the other hand, DelayEstimation MUSIC algorithm provides better estimates for the distances of the targetssince it is less sensitive to phase noise. Combining the output of TRM algorithm fortarget directions and the output of Delay Estimation MUSIC method for target distancesresulted in successful localization of targets. Experiments are performed using twomoving targets in order to test the effectiveness the proposed processing scheme. Theproblem of detection ambiguities is also considered and several methods to resolveactual targets are presented. 111
