Thermosets reinforced with inorganic nanoparticles show numerous benefits over the unreinforced polymer. However, to achieve reinforcement the nanoparticles have to be well separated and distributed homogeneously within the matrix. In the present study the laboratory scale discontinuous ultrasonic dispersion process was scaled up to a continuous ultrasonic dispersion process of agglomerated nanoparticles in epoxy resin (EP). Exemplarily, the dispersion experiments were carried out for a 4-1 suspension volume consisting of epoxy resin and 14 vol% Ti[O.sub.2]-nanoparticles was carried out as a function of the dispersion time and the amplitude of the ultrasonic cell. Following, nanocomposites were manufactured with particle contents of 2, 5, and 10 vol%. For the verification of the manufactured nanocomposites quality, particle sizes analysis and mechanical characterization were undertaken. The obtained results were compared with those of the discontinuous dispersion at laboratory scale. It has been found that comparable particle sizes and mechanical properties could be achieved, although, the volume of the suspension was 10 times higher as that one of the batchwise dispersion. The present study falls within the scope of work on the prevention of slips occurring on industrial workplace floor surfaces. Floor microgeometry is a determining factor in anti-slip flooring. Industrial environment-based quantification of floor microgeometrical properties is more restricting than laboratory quantification. The aim of the present study was to develop a duplication technique allowing reproduction of in situ floor microgeometry so as to be able to quantify this microgeometry in the laboratory. Duplicates were produced from a sample of five industrial floors. Surface microgeometry was characterized for both industrial floors and associated duplicates in order to study their microgeometrical changes following the duplicating operation. The purpose of this process was to reach a conclusion on the 'reliability' of the duplication technique, on which the use of such duplicates depends. Parameters established from digitalized surfaces reveal differences of less than 5% between duplicates and original floor and this enables us to conclude that these duplicates offer a high degree of reliability with respect to results dispersion. 25th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition / 5th World Conference on Photovoltaic Energy Conversion, 6-10 September 2010, Valencia, Spain; 1686-1690, A sputter process for an Al2O3/SiN:H layer stack for the rear side passivation of crystalline solar cells has been developed on an industrial in-line ATON 1600 sputter system. Lifetimes of up to 750 μs on 1cm FZ p-type wafers were achieved with excellent layer uniformity on an industry-relevant coating width of 1600 mm. In a systematic investigation of the sputter process and annealing parameters, it was found that the initial growth of the Al2O3 film on the Si-wafer surface is the critical factor for obtaining a good passivation level. Furthermore, it could be shown that the addition of hydrogen to the subsequent SiNx layer substantially increases the charge carrier lifetimes. The passivating Al2O3/SiN:H layer stacks are firing-stable and the data indicate that the used annealing procedure can be substituted by a normal firing step.

Based on this technique we developed an evaporation source for wafer coating. With a power consumption of ~70kW and a material usage of 1-2kg/h, the temperature load and remaining coating material must be handled carefully to achieve a constant long term production. Main difference to web coaters are the coating speed (m/min compared to m/sec), layer thickness (μm to nm), substrate handling (inflexible wafer, flexible plastic foils) and production times (day(s) compared to hours). The results of a laboratory scale Al-source with a coating width of 500mm have been published before [1]. Cells for LFC have been produced with efficiencies of >20%. In this paper we present our new coating source with a coating width of 1600mm appropriate for more than 3000 wafers/h in a production environment.

Results from extracts of Hericium erinaceum in 2003 have to be replicated again, the number of applications must be increased.

Bestrahlungstests von Antriebsmotoren für Handhabungssysteme in radioaktiv belasteter Umgebung Das Vielgelenkarmsystem (ABS) gehört zu den möglichen Komponenten einer Grundausrüstung, um Anlagenteile instandhalten zu können, die innerhalb des Vakuumgefäßes der NET/ITER Fusionsmaschine angeordnet sind. Infolge der hohen -Strahlung und Nachwärme der aktivierten Komponenten sind das ABS und seine Bauteile Belastungen ausgesetzt, die ihre Lebensdauer einschränken und wegen ihrer notwendigen Instandhaltung die Verfügbarkeit der Anlage verringern. Es ist das Ziel von Bestrahlungstests, eine Grundlage zur Verbesserung von strahlungs- und temperaturempfindlichen Fernhantierungskomponenten zu schaffen und somit deren Lebensdauer zu erhöhen. Dies erfolgt durch die Modifikation von Standardkomponenten in Zusammenarbeit mit den Herstellern. Neben Sensoren, Resolvern, elektronischen und optischen Komponenten, die nicht Gegenstand dieses Berichtes sind, zählen Motoren und deren Komponenten zu den empfindlichsten Bauteilen. Sie wurden daher in einem ausgedehnten Versuchsprogramm getestet. Die Ergebnisse der Experimente sind in diesem Bericht beschrieben.

Experimentelles Handhabungssystem für Wartungsarbeiten im Torus eines Fusionsreaktors Wegen der besonderen Umgebungsbedingungen - erhöhte -Strahlung und Temperatur - können Reparaturarbeiten in der Plasmakammer eines Fusionsreaktors wie NET/ITER nur mittels eines fernbedienten Handhabungssystems durchgeführt werden. EDITH (Experimental Device for In-Torus Handling) ist der Prototyp eines solchen Systems. Es basiert auf einem Vielgelenkarm, der für die jeweiligen Aufgaben mit verschiedenen Endeffektoren bzw. Werkzeugen ausgerüstet ist. EDITH ist die zentrale Komponente eines Teststandes, mit dem in Originalgröße in einem nachgebildeten Ausschnitt einer Plasmakammer Fernhantierungsvorgänge experimentell untersucht werden. Exemplarisch für solche Aufgaben wurde der fernbediente Austausch von Schutzziegeln und Divertorplatten durchgeführt. Um den Operateuren eine schnelle und zuverlässige Durchführung der Arbeiten zu ermöglichen, wurde ein neuartiges Leit- und Steuersystem entwickelt. Das Leitsystem bildet in Form einer Fernhandhabungs-Arbeitsstation zusammen mit den Servomanipulatoren die Mensch-Maschine-Schnittstelle zur Steuerung und Überwachung aller Geräte. Die Arbeitsstation unterstützt die Operateure bei allen manuell zu steuernden Arbeiten, bei der Planung, Simulation und Programmierung automatisch durchzuführender Teilaufgaben und dient mit ihrem multimedialen Dokumentationssystem als ständig verfügbare Informationsquelle. Bei der Konzeption der Steuerung standen das dynamische Verhalten, die Betriebssicherheit und die Kopplung an das Leitsystem im Vordergrund. Qualifikationstests und erste Experimentiererfahrungen bestätigten, daß mit der bei FZK entwickelten Fernhantierungstechnik die gestellten Aufgaben sicher, zuverlässig und in vertretbarer Zeit ausgeführt werden können.

Particle Physics - Experiment - Abstract
We confirm the existence of the two I G ( J PC ) = 0 + (0 ++ ) resonances f 0 (1370) and f 0 (1500) reported by us in earlier analyses. The analysis presented here couples the final states π 0 π 0 π 0 , π 0 π 0 η and π 0 ηη of p p annihilation at rest. It is based on a 3 × 3 K -matrix. We find masses and widths of M = (1390±30) MeV, Γ = (380±80) MeV; and M = (1500±10) MeV, Γ = (154 ± 30) MeV, respectively. The product branching ratios for the production and decay into π 0 π 0 and ηη of the f 0 (1500) are (1.27 ± 0.33) · 10 −3 and (0.60 ± 0.17) · 10 −3 , respectively.
