Essential oils have antioxidant and antimicrobial properties, so it is considered one of the most suitable methods to maintain overall fruit quality, reduce decay and extend the shelf life of fruit during storage. Therefore, two experiments using fruits harvested from 14-year-old guava trees in a private farm located in Al-Busayli village, Rashied, Bohaira governorate, Egypt, during the 2021and 2022 seasons. The primary objective was to evaluate the influence of essential oils on the overall quality and extension of the shelf-life of winter guava fruit. The fruits were subjected to various treatments, including dipping in the following solutions (at 1000 ppm) for 5 minutes: control (distilled water), clove oil, eucalyptus oil, mustard oil, and jojoba oil. Subsequently, the coated fruits with essential oils were preserved in cold room with a temperature of 7±1°C and a relative humidity of 90 – 95 % for a duration of 24 days. The obtained data revealed that immersing in essential oils of winter guava fruits at concentration of 1000 ppm significantly reduced loss in weight of fruit, rot and respiration rate in addition its also improved fruit firmness. SSC%, acidity, SSC/acid ratio and ascorbic acid content compared to control treatment during cold storage. Moreover, the results show a significant reduction in loss of weight, decay, and respiration rate of guava fruits when Eucalyptus and clove oils were utilized. Furthermore, the applications of Eucalyptus and clove oils demonstrated effectiveness in keeping firmness, acidity, vitamin C content, SSC%, and SSC/acid ratio in guava fruits during the storage. In conclusion, Eucalyptus oil and cloves oil proved to be highly effective in reduce weight loss, decay, and respiration rates while concurrently maintaining the overall quality of winter guava fruits under cold storage conditions for a duration of 24 days, in comparison to the other treatments. A field experiment was carried out during 2019 and 2020 seasons at El-Riad, Kafr El-Sheikh governorate, to study the effect of irrigation levels, mulching and antitranspiration on yield and fruit quality of Washington navel orange trees. Eighteen combination treatments consist of three irrigation levels of 100, 75 and 50% ETc, two mulching types viz, black polyethylene and rice straw beside bare soil as control; and spraying with two kaolin concentrations 0.0 and 3% were arranged in a randomized complete block design with three replicates. Results indicated that irrigation levels at 100 and 75% ETc significantly enhanced and increased fruit set %, yield kg/tree or ton/feddan, fruit quality, yield efficiency kg/m3 of canopy volume, water use efficiency kg/m³ water and reduce fruit drop %. In addition, soil mulching with black polyethylene or rice straw was significantly increased all studied parameters compared to bare soil. Moreover, foliar application of kaolin at 3% was more effective in most cases compared to spraying with tap water. Overall, the combination of irrigation at 75% ETc with black polyethylene or rice straw mulch combined with spraying kaolin at 3% showed the best results of fruit set, less fruit drop, total yield, and fruit quality and increased water use efficiency. A field experiment was conducted during 2018 and 2019 seasons at Abu El-Matamir region, El-Bohaira governorate, Egypt, to study the effect of foliar application of GA3 and sitofex (CPPU) on yield and fruit quality of eight year "Kelsey" plum trees (Prunus salicina Lindl.). Foliar spray of sitofex (CPPU) at 0, 5, 10 and 15 ppm and GA3 at 0, 20 and 40 ppm individually or in combination were done twice at full bloom and two weeks other. Twelve treatments were arranged in a randomized complete block design as split plot, gibberellic acid was assigned in the main plots while sitofex (CPPU) was assigned in sub plots. The results showed that, trees sprayed with GA3 at 40 ppm + CPPU at 15 ppm or GA3 at 20 ppm + CPPU at 15 ppm significantly increased fruit set %, yield (kg/tree or ton/feddan) and some fruit physical parameters such as (fruit weight, fruit size and fruit juice). Fruit drop % was decreased compared to control and other treatments. Chemical fruit quality such as SSC %, total acidity and SSC/acid ratio were also improved as compared to control. It could be recommended that, "Kelsey" plum trees sprayed with GA3 at 40 ppm + CPPU at 15 ppm or GA3 at 20 ppm + CPPU at 15 ppm twice at the full bloom and after two weeks from full bloom which are considered the best combination treatments used to increasing the percentage of fruit size, yield and fruit weight as well as improving the other characteristics of fruit quality. Sunburn is a major problem caused by high temperature and direct solar radiation, which leads to significant economic losses in Balady mandarin yield. So, a field experiment was conducted during 2014 and 2015 seasons at a private orchard situated in Motobus, Kafr EI-Sheikh governorate, Egypt, to study the effect of foliar spray of 0, 2, 3 and 4% kaolin, twice or three times at May, June and July on sunburn percentage and fruit quality of Balady mandarin trees. The obtained results showed that, kaolin foliar applications were effective to control fruit sunburn as well as reducing severity percentage of sunburned fruits as compared to untreated trees. Moreover, Kaolin foliar application at three times was decreased leaf and fruit surface temperature especially at the concentrations of 3 and 4%. In addition, kaolin treatments increased yield and improved fruit quality in terms of fruit size, diameter, weight, peel thickness and vitamin C. Kaolin foliar spray was raising fruit values of SSC%, acidity and SSC/acid ratio compared to control trees, whereas there is no significant variation among kaolin concentrations on this variables. Therefore, it could be recommended that, spraying kaolin at 3 or 4% three times in summer months, because it had a positive effect on preventing fruit sunburn damage and improvement yield and fruit quality of Balady mandarin trees. This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of three rates of nitrogen fertilization as control (500), 750 and 1000 g N/treelyear and GA3 at 10 and 20 ppm, alone or in combinations on vegetative growth, yield and fruit quality of Chinese mandarin trees. Results showed that, high nitrogen level (1000 g N/tree) with 10 or 20 ppm GA3 enhanced vegetative growth parameters in terms of shoot length, leaves number/shoot and leaf area of Chinese mandarin trees in both seasons. Moreover, treatment of 1000 g N + 10 or 20 ppm GA3 gave the best fruit set % and showed to be the superior one in reducing fruit drop and preharvest fruit drop percentages as compared to control treatment. Yield and fruit quality were significantly increased by all treatments of nitrogen and GA3 compared to control treatment in both seasons. Therefore, it is recommended with the treatment of 1000 g N/tree plus spray with GA3 at 10 or 20 ppm which gave the best growth, yield, fruit quality of Chinese mandarin trees under sandy soil conditions.
