A study investigated the immune response of pregnant women vaccinated with mRNA and inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccines against the Omicron variant. The results showed that pregnant women who received the mRNA vaccine had higher neutralizing antibody levels against both the Wuhan and Omicron variants compared to those who received the inactivated vaccine. However, neutralizing antibody activity against the Omicron variant was lower compared to the Wuhan variant for both vaccine types. The study suggests the importance of booster shots and new-generation vaccines targeted against variants of concern.
